jacobandlysette · 28/08/2007 15:45

I'm in clapham.

does anyone have any due dates or anything like that yet? stats list to be started!

Jacobandlysette EDD 1st May 1DS 13.5 months

I too am feeling fat, although i think that's got something to do with the large quantities of water I'm consuming so i'm just really bloated

bobsmum · 28/08/2007 17:35

My EDD seems to be May 1st too, but I'll hopefully get the ball rolling with midwife etc next week and she'll no doubt give me a different date!

I'm in Scotland.

Ds is 5 next week and started primary school last week. Dd is just 2 and loves babies!

This one (assuming all goes well) will be the last of the babies. I think we'll feel "finished" with three - well I say that now

I hate these first few weeks where you're desperate to tell the world, but don't want to have to untell them if the worst happens.

We've told my parents and the in laws and that's it for the next few weeks. Apart from you lot

walkingwomb · 28/08/2007 21:01

Hello! I have had two faint positives and the calendars are telling me that I am due on May 7th! This is my first and I am so excited (as you can probably tell by the number of apostrophes!

When do you go to the doctor??

jacobandlysette, bobsmum, aquababe, macaco, babywhiting and jennyjane congrats

professor plum - good luck

I intend to be on here regularly!

WW xx

babywhiting · 28/08/2007 21:38

now working out my edd !!! you've got me intrigued!

i always said i'd only ever have 2 dc but here i am expecting no 4
AAAAAAAAARRRRRGGGHHHHH!!!!!

aquababe · 29/08/2007 12:06

Mine appears to be the 5th May but I'll probably try to work it that I've a few days leniency so aiming to get an offical due date around the 8th-11th May.

Got induced last time and just wanted a few more days to give her the chance to come out.

I'm near Maidstone, Kent.
and apparently I don't go to the doctors at all I go to see a midwife at 8 weeks.
Anyone else have this?

jacobandlysette · 29/08/2007 13:37

i went to the docs last week and was told i wouldn't have a scan till 12 weeks. as this is my second i know to be a bit bolshy and said as last time was a bit problematic i would like an early booking appointment - easiest way to get an early booking appt is to say you're unsure of your dates

actually as i had spotting over the weekend i ended up at the early pregnancy unit today for a scan and saw the little blob! so all ok

OP posts:
aquababe · 29/08/2007 14:19

glad to hear all is ok
tis my second also so am off to see doc today regardless.
i've had a bit of pain and my cs scar is hurting more than normal.
probably nothing, but I'd rather check it out

PotPourri · 29/08/2007 14:20

Hi everyone. I'm joining you too - congrats to you all. EDD is 29 April, but as my 2 DDs both had to be forced out I could bet my house on the fact I will need to be induced again! Have been pretty sick from 3 weeks. Apart from DH, you are the first people I have told.

Bobsmum, I'm in Scotland too (Lanark), where abouts are you? And I'm on my third too!

PotPourri · 29/08/2007 14:32

walkingwomb · 29/08/2007 14:58

Hey all - I called my doctor today and got booked in for an appointment in a couple of weeks!! So exciting makes it all seem very real. Being my first I am very over excited about everything.

Can't wait!

WW

jacobandlysette · 29/08/2007 17:26

hey WW you be as over excited about everything as you want

Potpourri they also revised my EDD to 30th april, but as DS was 2 months early i don't really see the point of being completely accurate and asking to switch threads now for the sake of 1 day!!! particularly since this is the only thread i have started on MN that has had more than 2 replies

WW the book that i used in my 1st pg was the queen charlotte's guide - i found it really informative but not too "doctory" - that and the MN book which was great for little bits of advice - if yo uwant a book or two of course!

aquababe · 29/08/2007 18:12

ohh doc has booked me in for an early scan.
suddenly felt like I was overreacting.
I think I was hoping he'd just go oh thats normal to get a twinge or two.

he did say he's being overly cautious.
when on the phone to the scan place he seemed to have to push to persuade them to scan me said something about wanting to check it wasn't ectopic.

a little concerned but it doesn't sound like anything serious does it?

I foolishly looked at a science book when I first got pregnant with dd talk about freak myself out.

walkingwomb · 29/08/2007 19:14

He is probably just being careful aquababe, I hope it is all fine.

jacobandlysette - I ordered Best friends guide to pregnancy and what to expect when you are... from amazon today. thing is my sis has LOADS of books but can't borrow them yet as can't tell her I am preggers.

aquababe · 29/08/2007 19:21

I read my best friends guide to pregnancy
brought tears to my eyes.
lots of nobody told me that!

bobsmum · 29/08/2007 19:42

Pot Pourri - I'm halfway between Glasgow and Stirling in the middle of nowhere-ish. Probably about 1.5/2 hours from you. Maybe a Glasgow meet up at some point?

So hard not to tell people, especially now the schools are back and I'm bumping into friends after the summer. When everyone asks "what's new?" I'm desperate to say "Weeeeell.....actually.."

Both sets of parents are shocked but very happy - they all seemed to think that with a boy and a girl we were finished, but I knew there was room for one more!

babywhiting · 30/08/2007 10:05

well ive got my EDD and i'm afraid i'm leaing you all infact i'm due in april........
well at least its one less month to wait wooohoooooo!!!
but i will come and check on you all cos all you may people were told first!!!!

walkingwomb · 30/08/2007 12:47

Bye BabyWhiting - good luck (waves)

Emmsy · 30/08/2007 15:13

hi every one! I am due on 5th May 2008, I already have 1 DD & 3 DS but thought I would squeeze one more in before I go back to work in 2009! I am very nervous at the moment as I miscarried at 5 1/2 weeks in April this year, I had already had that pregnancy confirmed at the clinic. I had taken it for granted that everything would be ok. I have taken 5 tests so far and am constantly checking my temperature day & night to check it's still at my pregnancy temp (37.0) I can't believe that I am being this stupid, It's like I'm "possessed" anyway congratulations to all who are pregnant and good luck to all who are still trying!

jacobandlysette · 30/08/2007 17:47

Babywhiting see you on the other side!

Emmsy I've added you to our stats list - welcome! And i reckon we can all be as obsessed as we like . I certainly am since my little visit to the EPU yesterday!

DS is teething quite horribly today - poor little boy he's in a right state - diarrohea and terrible nappy rash and just so irritable. must go and bathe him much earlier than normal i think as he just wants to go to sleep

see you all later

Hi all, not sure if I'm going to stay pregnant, but if i do i think it'll be May '08. Not very positive though coz I'm one of those people who scan- so I was follicle tracking and know exactly when I ovulated, know how many weeks I should be, and when I peeked today things are looking a good week to 2 weeks behind where I 'know' I should be. I know I'm complaining when so many people want to have scans to see if they're ok, and I've peeked and not seen what I expected. I'm driving myself up the wall, or at least round in circles. What I can see doesn't fit the 'clinical history' therefore unlikely to be ok, but if I hadn't looked I wouldn't know there was a problem- and of course I'm hoping everything will be ok. With early scans everything's give or take 5 days, and I've got myself in a bit of a tizz. This probably isn't even the right place for this kind of worry! Mind you, going from depths of dispair to really hopeful must be slightly hormonal? Maybe?
Sorry, just got scared and worried and noone to talk to about it all. good luck everyone!

walkingwomb · 31/08/2007 10:12

mumofk - I hope everything is okay and you can stick around here.

Those of you who have been through this before - when should I start feeling pregnant? I really want something to happen. DH admitted last night that it was all very unreal to him and he was waiting for something to happen to make it so!

bobsmum · 31/08/2007 10:41

I'm feeling achy painy and tired. No sickness, just occasional nausea which passes when I eat something. I don't feel pg yet and sometimes "forget' because there's not much going on.

Just before about 12 weeks - maybe earlier, you'll be able to feel a firmness in your abdomen as everything moves upwards - and that's when I've felt pg in the last 2. That's when everyone knows too, so other people help to make it feel real more than anything I think.

professorplum · 31/08/2007 11:14

I think my hard work has paid off. teeny tiny positive this morning

Emmsy · 31/08/2007 12:01

"Thanks" Jacobandlysette, I hope your little one is feeling better today?
"CONGRATULATIONS TO PROFESSORPLUM"
Walkingwomb,I have only had sore boobs so far, nausea usually kicks in about 6 weeks, but I don't remember any sickness when I was carrying my DD (but that was the only pregnancy that I had exceptionally strong Braxton Hicks with, I really thought I was going to go in to premature labour on many occasions)my DD was my 3rd pregnancy!
only 2 out of my 4 labours have been similar! My 1st pregnancy, I was desperate for it to "show" I wanted the world to know I was pregnant, so I ate & ate &.... got very fat!
I put on approx 4 stone!! I found it very hard to lose the weight after, the baby only weighed 6lb 6oz! every subsequent pregnancy I only gained approx 1 & half to 2 stone and apart from 1 exception the other 2 babies weighed more! I will update you as often as I can with this new pregnancy. take care all

jacobandlysette · 31/08/2007 12:53

hey mumofk - hope we can be of help and feel free to post any worries etc on here. another good thread is in conceptions - the caravan of crap! i've been a regular visitor there and everyone is very nice and friendly.

professorplum congratulations!!!!

WW i was and still am very tired, although with DS didn't know i was pregnant at the time! I guess I didn't feel pregnant till i started showing and at the moment even though i'm shattered pretty much all the time i still don't really feel pg. except for not being able to drink or eat any of my favourite foods that MAKES me feel pregnant!
