Hey all, sorry to have been such a stranger but am under such a watchful eye with DH around that even coming on the computer is tricky !! Anyway, congratulations to all the new babies popping up and am really keeping everything crossed for all you lovelies still waiting...

Haven't done a birth story proper yet but will try and do so eventually when I can tear myself away from my gorgeous DS. We're so in love with Paddy it's amazing and despite him being a bit of a 'challenge' (Betty's words !!) with the breastfeeding we're really getting there. He's slept from midnight to 7am this morning and the routine really is working. He's calm, happy and everything we could ever want (not sure that covers the cheesiness of mine and DH's real grins !!!) Will try and post pics soon

TT
xx

Hey....just read a few posts and the jist seems to be that it's quiet on here because I'm not around....

cheeky monkeys..!!!!!

(TT accepts the truth about herself with a sigh...some things you just can't deny)

bambi06 · 24/08/2007 10:06

so...am i the only one to have reached 15 days overdue and STILL no baby? ive had one sweep but nothing apart from i guess a brownish show ever since tues off and on sicne having sweep.. have a scan this afternoon to check on baby ..hes fine ..its me thats bored of waiting and i cant go back to school with my kids in sept still pregnant.now can i?!!! will be monitored regularly but im refusing induction at any cost..my first was 19 days late so im wondering if this one wants to beat that...so..anybody else out there same as me?..pleeease?

bambi06 · 24/08/2007 10:13

bump.....

loler · 24/08/2007 10:23

Was the 'bump' a joke! Guess you would prefer 'no bump'!

Think you definately win the prize for most over due! Are you still being allowed a homebirth?

Haven't had heart burn apart from the last month and it seems to be getting worse - got through a huge bottle of gaviscon in less than 3 weeks.

Could also strangle the cat - spent all night crying to be let in but ran away as soon as the door was open - doesn't it realise how hard it is to roll out of bed!!

Grumble grumble......will try and cheer up! Going for a picnic in a little bit - at least it's a lovely day!

Blimey Bambi -you keep it up love- we need another record broken on this thread!! As long as you are monitored and you are both well, then you hold your own. I think I'd have been crippled if I'd hung on longer than 12 days!!

xx

bambi06 · 24/08/2007 10:31

i must admit the dr i saw yesterday was very nice about it all and understood completely my arguement for no inducing...he said all this red tape and form filling in ..warnings etc as it was getting like america with all the litigation going on but as long as i`m monitored and happy he couldnt see any reason to not wait..theres history in my family of late babies too so i m destined really..its just i cant go far now[distance wise] which is a bugger as im worried when it will happen, apart from that i feel brill still... sods law it will be born on my birthday!!!1

growingbagpuss · 24/08/2007 11:08

TT - you mention a routine... hurrah - looks like I may not be alone in my love of order.... any particular routine - ? x

Pengy · 24/08/2007 11:16

growingbagpuss · 24/08/2007 11:38

ooooh good luck Pengy.....keep us posted! Was it lots of fluid? is there more to come? Hope its quick for you... (mind you, not sure giving birth on one's due date is allowed on this thread!! )

Pengy · 24/08/2007 11:40

More of a trickle than a gush and still coming which is keeping me a bit housebound (sorry if TMI)

growingbagpuss · 24/08/2007 12:28

growingbagpuss · 24/08/2007 13:04

....... anyone seen Pinkranger? She's v quiet since her sweep... hope to hear news of a homebirth soon......

katybird · 24/08/2007 14:55

Hi everyone, still no action here. Was my due date yesterday, so I was expecting to be emotional, but actually had a really nice day. The midwife offered me a sweep, which I wasn't expecting, and she says my cervix is all ready to go, she even felt the baby's head ! So I'm sending him positive vibes. Went to the movies and for dinner with DP too, probably the last date we'll go on in a while!

Pengy, sounds like you're on your way, good luck! Bambi, wow, sounds like you might break your own record! Glad your dr's supportive about waiting for things to happen naturally.

Congratulations lovelybird ! Looking forward to pics. Itchy, your dd is gorgeous, and DP looks smitten! Love your pic too diva.

Hersetta · 24/08/2007 15:12

Hi all,

Well I'm home and have been since around 10.30 yesterday morning as my CS was cancelled whilst I lay on the table because right at the last minute the baby turned !!

She was definitely breech at the pre-op appt on Monday - I think she actually turned overnight before the CS. DH and I were actually gutted as we were so mentally prepared for the CS - DH was all gowned up and I was on the op table getting ready for my epidural when they did a last minute scan to check her position and neither of us could believe it when we saw her head down.

So now we're just waiting for nature to take it's course and trying to come to terms with her not being here already. My biggest fear now is that I go way overdue and she ends up too big for me to deliver and I end up with a CS anyway (she was 7lb 8oz at 36 weeks so she could be a really big girl by 41 weeks.

Congrats to everyone who has popped lately. Glad Patrick is being good to you TT.

A very disappointed Hersetta

lizziemun · 24/08/2007 15:17

Hersetta

How annoying, as you were all geared up to have your baby.

But i suppose it is good that it has turned. Come and join the bored of waiting.

katybird · 24/08/2007 15:31

Oh, poor you Hersetta, shame they couldn't do the CS anyway as you were all prepped for it. Sure she'll make an appearance soon though now she's head down. Sounds like she's going to be trouble !

loler · 24/08/2007 16:18

Hersetta - at least you'll be back in bikinis quickly . Don't worry to much about the size mine was 10lb 2oz at the 37 week scan! But back to bouncing on that ball, pineapples and curry!

We've just had a lovely picnic, paddling in the river and relaxing in the park. Just going into hell hour before bedtime!

Good luck Pengy - looks like you'll be having a bankholiday baby!

Hi everyone -Still im afraid GBP - did the worst thing ever last night and took some castor oil, ended up on the toilet ( sorry if TMI) most of the night, will NEVER EVER do that again, have only just started to feel a little normal!

Have had lots of Strong BH today and just a a jelly show in the last hour so maybe not to long but hey we never know!!!

Glad to see you around TT! Hoping to see you on the post natal Soon!

Hersetta - How disappointing for you , glad that you dont have to go through the CS but you must have been SOOOO looking forward to meeting your baby yesterday!

growingbagpuss · 24/08/2007 17:28

!!!!!!PINK!!!!!!! Now that was silly!!

pinkrangerstartstowaddle · 24/08/2007 18:42

Tell me about it GBP - im not a person who regrets much but boy did i regret that at 4am this morning!!

bambi06 · 24/08/2007 18:51

still nothing here ..been to have scan and monitoring..heard lots of negativity from staff and very brusque with me..needless to say i gave as good as i got and threatened to walk out there and then! according to scan everything normal and size is bigger than my first son..so far theyve estimated 10.4lbs!!! and longer as well at 56 cms..
baby very happy and moving lots and apparently lots of braxton hicks..none of which i`m feeling ! she said my body looks as though its preparing for a quick labour..feeling of deja vue here!!! as there were so many braxton hicks in the 20 mins monitoring... luckily th midwife who actually did the monitoring was lovely and was totally on my side and said i obviously just cook them longer!!

angie0201 · 24/08/2007 19:03

bambi06 i was due the 16th and i thought i was getting fed up feel for you, you right to stick to what you want with my DD they pushed me into so many things it wont happen this time, that much older and stronger!!
