boobooma · 21/08/2007 19:26

hello everyone left, congratulations to TT and saturn, hope to hear more when youre ready.

Nothing doing here, get woken at night as lo is doing full body stretches which makes me think, is this a contraction cos he makes my bump so tight. Mum now here to help with ds when it does happen so roll on birth day.

Loler and katybird I'll probably be with you on the september thread as my due date is now 28th instead of 22nd and absolutely no signs so far

divamumplusbump · 21/08/2007 20:02

congratulations saturn, im having pulling pain when standing position,if i walk around, will this help baby out
its quite sharp pain like some1 pulling from my belly button from inside.
it doersnt happen im seated. btw, at39+5 scan showed baby fully engaged, is it normal to be engaged fully for so long.
oops too many questions, but never know
good luck everyone, specially those overdue.

divamumplusbump · 21/08/2007 21:42

divamumplusbump · 21/08/2007 21:43

meant to say have been out lol

Pengy · 21/08/2007 21:49

Good luck tonight diva and congratulations saturn

Still nothing happening here apart from my back getting more achy, think I'll be heading to the September thread too ...

loler · 22/08/2007 09:31

Congratulations Saturn - what have you called her (as someone obsessed with names at the moment!)?

Good luck for tomorrow Hersetta. - This time tomorrow you could well be holding your baby - how strange!

OP posts:
Hersetta · 22/08/2007 10:23

Thanks Loler!

It is very strange. We had words me and her in the shower this morning. I said she had better get ready and pack her bags as tomorrow she was moving house !!

Feel nervous now about the operation as never even hadto spend a night in hospital before and also worrying about being a good mum and hoping it'll all come naturally.

katybird · 22/08/2007 10:49

Ooh, hope you're on your way diva!

Good luck Hersetta, I'm sure it'll be fine. It's natural to be nervous but just think about holding your LO at the end of it!

Still no signs here, so I'm nesting like mad. TT's baking rubbed off on me, made a yummy Eve pudding yesterday with pears instead of apples. Might have to tackle muffins today!

Was meant to be meeting up with NCT people for lunch but they've all had babies this week so feeling v . Glad I don't have to leave the house in this weather tho!

Pengy · 22/08/2007 11:05

Good luck Hersetta for tomorrow. I'm sure the staff will look after you well and it's natural to worry about motherhood! I'm holding onto parentcraft classes that told us most of it is common sense and it's just the confidence and reassurance new mums need that their instincts are right

Katybird my antenatal class women have all popped apart from me and one other although we're still doing lunch today. Next week everyone is saying I can come with my baby and I'm thinking grrr hope I'm not there as I'll have a LO to deal with

loler · 22/08/2007 11:42

I agree that most of motherhood is common sense. There's lots of it that you have to learn but mainly through trial and error - just because it worked with one baby/child doesn't mean that it will work for another!

I think that there's alot of pressure on us to be perfect all the time and be happy with everything. It's natural to have ups and downs and I'm really hoping that I'll be strong enough to let the house get messy this time (sounds strange but with DS I felt it was a challenge!)

I would be worried about the CS too - it's one of the only operations that you volunteer to have when you are healthy! Never had one but lots of friends say that they really aren't too bad.

OP posts:
katybird · 22/08/2007 11:44

I like your theory about confidence being all we need Pengy! Hopefully this time next week we'll both have babies to look after.

katybird · 22/08/2007 11:47

Cross posts loler. I think you're right about the CS, if it means you have a healthy baby at the end of it it's worth it tho.

I'm hoping I won't feel the urge to do any cleaning once the baby's here!

saturn · 22/08/2007 12:33

Hersetta - I was really anxious about having c-section last Friday and the extra time I'd have to spend in hospital, but can honestly say it wasn't as bad as I'd been expecting. I came home on Monday and it already seems like a distant memory. Hope everything goes ok for you.

loler - we've named her Chloe Nicole

loler · 22/08/2007 12:37

Chloe is a really pretty name.

I really need to get off here and do something but can't be bothered had really bad heartburn last night so was wondering around the house until 4am!

OP posts:
katybird · 22/08/2007 12:47

Poor you loler! It'll all be forgotten soon though (hopefully )!

Chloe is a lovely name saturn. Have you decided on a shortlist yet loler?

loler · 22/08/2007 12:54

Finding it really difficult to come up with names that haven't already been used by close friends and relatives (I know that I could reuse them but would like this one to have it's own identity - with 2 older siblings it's going to be compared lots as it is).

Just been on a website looking at names and found;
Brenna

Celtic girls name which means beauty with hair as dark as a raven

Quinn
Celtic boys name. Probably a variant fo the name Conn which in turn, means intelligent

What do you think? Feeling I can't make such an important choice at the moment!

How about you?

OP posts:
katybird · 22/08/2007 13:21

Brenna and Quinn are both beautiful names loler, and quite unusual so there shouldn't be five others in their class at school! It's lovely to know the meaning behind the names too.

I know what you mean about names being used by friends. Before we knew our LO was a boy we really loved Gracie for a girl but our friends called their daughter that earlier this year.

We settled on Logan months ago so it'll be a real shock if he pops out not looking like one! And to everyone we've already told, if we decide on something else at the last minute.

growingbagpuss · 22/08/2007 13:23

Hi guys - I'm still watching even thoug I've switched threads!

Cngrats Saturn!

Good luck Hersetta- has anyone heard from itchy? She's not been on the postnatal thread either. She ought to be out by now.....

Bambi - sorry about your sweep. Wish there was anything more helpful to say - sounds like your cervix is misbehaving!! Hope it all works out for you in the end...

Everyone else (esp you Pink) - look forward to hearing more, and the pitter patters over the next few weeks. I've posted a huge one on the post natal thread so I won't ore you all - but Evie is lovely!! I think coz DS was born when my dad was dying I wasn't really v fussed with him, but am totally bessotted with Evie, and it makes me realise how lucky i am with my two beautiful babies. xxxxx [vomit]

divamumplusbump · 22/08/2007 16:47

Yoohoo! I'm back!!

The wee lassie Mila/ Isobel (still not decided!) was born at 12.30 last Friday 7lbs 6oz. C-section absolute dream, until getting out of bed.. but it's not too bad really.

This baby is incredible tiniest dinky beauty we ever saw, we're all feeling like we've fallen in love (that's me, dp & ds) She's totally calm always asleep, rarely cries. We've been blessed! But the lengthy sleeping has it's downside, I'm horribly over-engorged, terribly painful bowling ball breasts and cracked nipples as it's hard for her to latch on to these monster boobs.

But yes we're all blissed out chez itchy!

Now I'm going to scroll down and see how everyone else is, photos to follow..

katybird · 22/08/2007 18:04

Congratulations itchy !! She sounds divine, I'm v , can't wait for photos. Hope your bump's gone down considerably (even if the boobs have taken over now ).

katybird · 22/08/2007 18:05

Ooh, and well spotted lizziemun, hope you're doing ok too.

Hersetta · 22/08/2007 18:39

Wow - that was quick Diva - what a pro you are.

Itchy - glad everything went well- hoping for the same myself tomorrow. Had a lovely coffee meeting with my NCT class and for the 2nd time running someone didn't turn up becuse they'd gone into labour that day !! Will hopefully meet up with them tomorrow on the post natal ward.

Last post probably for me for a few days - off out for dinner with DH later and we have a half botle of champagne to share when we come back.

Good luck everyone who's due in the next few days.
