Anyone else just got their BFP? After 15 months of trying I have finally got mine, I am so excited but terrified of the long nine months ahead. Will definitely be going for an early scan in December for some reassurance!

@Kiki275 oh god definitely! Grin It's been five years since my last pregnancy and I think I've got my rose tinted specs on at the moment.

Hi ladies,

Do you mind if I join?

I'm 4+3, due July 25th, first baby and currently driving myself crazy overanalysing every little thing! Would be good to have some buddies to share this all with lol.

@Fsid00 and @Chlandy so sorry to hear of both of your losses. Let's hope these babies are sticky ones for us all.

@amysara24 it's crazy how everyday you can feel totally different. I've felt very sick this morning then totally fine up until 2pm where now I'm feeling very nauseous. With all the women in the world and how many babies I don't think there is any right or wrong way to feel during pregnancy, we are all so unique. Doesn't stop us all symptom spotting/comparing etc! Finding myself constantly thinking how I felt this time with my first born etc.

@stepmumma91 welcome to the thread and congratulations on your BFP!

@stepmumma91 congratulations!! You’re in the right place - we’re all mad here 😂
@mumof1babe that’s exactly it. I feel nauseous again but I’m not sure if it’s just because I’m worrying so much!

@amysara24 we can't win can we 😂 I'm still off work having been signed off after my mc so nothing much but looking after my wee one to take my mind off of it all! Stayed off work when I found out we were expecting again as I work in a very stressful environment, luckily my boss has been very supportive. Kind of looking forward to going back in next few weeks once we have hopefully had some good news at early scan!

Those with previous children, what is the age gap between yours? Mines will be 2 years and 1 month!

Hi can I join! I'm 4+1 but got my first BFP last Tuesday (couldn't believe it, so early.)

Congratulations on all your BFPs. I would be due around 27th July.
I have had a lot of brown spotting and yesterday had one episode of red blood so I'm super anxious. Been alright today! EPU won't see me until I'm 6 weeks so just an anxious wait. I had a chemical last month so I've been extra worried 🙈.

This will be my third child xx

@mumof1babe I’m sorry to hear that, though at least it allows you some time to process this time and not stress about work! The only person (other than DH and the doctor/midwife) who I have told is my mentor at work (I’m a newly qualified teacher) and he has been really great. He told me to go early today to miss traffic.
I stopped at Tesco though for another Clearblue digital to be sure the weeks haven’t gone down 🤦🏽‍♀️ I’m so paranoid.
That’ll be a lovely age gap though! My brother and I are 2 years 6 months (almost to the day) and we are so close - I would love that for my kids growing up!
@rhirhibumblebee hi! Congratulations!! I think some bleeding is normal at this stage, try not to worry too much - I know it’s easier said than done!!

@rhirhibumblebee congratulations on your BFP and welcome to the thread! Sorry to hear about your spotting, as I'm sure you've heard before it can be totally normal at this stage especially around the 4 week mark, hoping all is well for you. Sorry to hear about your previous chemical!

I just had a phone call from EPU and they are going to see me for an early scan on 3rd December so at least I can tell the midwife exactly how far along I am, I reckon I'll be a little over 7 weeks at the time but will get clarity at least!

@amysara24 there's only 18 months between me and my twin brothers and I love it, always wanted mine close together! I literally have taken so many Digitals just to see the weeks increasing, we are officially obsessed 😂 so kind of your boss! Teaching can be a very stressful profession so I'm glad that your mentor is supporting you in all ways they can. I am a mental health nurse and there's lots of restricted duties when pregnant so going to have to tell my colleagues when I go back incase they think I'm just being lazy not doing too much!

amysara24 · 19/11/2019 16:14

@mumof1babe I’m so glad I’m not the only one! He really is being great. I told him I was feeling a bit nauseous this morning and through the night, and he was almost fatherly to me. He said it would get worse “because of all these new things happening” and to take it easy until I was ready to tell the head. It’s a very high tariff school and the kids are prone to violent incidents so I’m a bit anxious about that but fingers crossed.
God I can imagine that would be an incredibly stressful job at the best of times never mind dealing with everything you’ve had in the past few months! Hopefully when you go back you’ll be able to tell them all is well!
It’s great they’re seeing you so soon! That will give you real peace of mind going forward!

@amysara24 I bought another clear blue digital today too. Mine still says 2-3 weeks (it’s been saying that since maybe Thursday last week so I am hoping will get 3+ by end of this week) last night my boobs were quite tender and are ok today and it’s made me really worry. I am obsessed with googling everything x

amysara24 · 19/11/2019 16:40

@missdrifter I’m exactly the same, wondering why I felt sick through the night but not today, why my cramps are worse at night etc. I had 1-2 weeks last Wednesday so hopefully tonight I’ll get 2-3 🤞🏽 I’m doing exactly the same, it’s going to be a long 9 months if I keep it up haha!

Report
Missdrifter · 19/11/2019 17:16

It’s scary isn’t it!! I have been even watching YouTube videos of people’s blogs at 5 weeks. @amysara24 I am sure you will get 2-3 tonight. I am driving my partner mad and I think he thought he would get let off once I got a BFP but I am even worse now 🤦🏻‍♀️

Is anyone else having a lack of symptoms at 5 weeks?

Report
stepmumma91 · 19/11/2019 17:32

@Missdrifter yep, I don't really have any symptoms either. Just a little bit tired, but that could just be this time of year - always makes you feel rubbish doesn't it!

So glad that I'm in good company, and you're all just as anxious as me! I took a digital today too to check my weeks were going up! I've now graduated to 2-3, I was 1-2 when I found out on Friday. Woooooo!

It's going to be a loooong few weeks!!

Report
Missdrifter · 19/11/2019 17:39

@stepmumma91 yay congratulations on graduating to 2-3! I do find the digital tests reassuring. Have you made an appointment with your midwife yet? Mine isn’t until the 23rd December and seems so far away. Pleased I am not the only one with lack of symptoms, I think it’s quite normal!

Report
stepmumma91 · 19/11/2019 17:54

@Missdrifter Lets hope so! Maybe we'll look back on this when we're puking every morning and wonder what we were moaning about 😂 I am having some small period type cramps still which are slightly concerning me. Every time I wee I'm terrified I'll see blood! Google tells me its ok though, so I'm gonna carry on and hope for the best!

Ahhh that's exciting for you!! Nope. No appointment yet, I'm a bit confused by the whole process though tbh. When I got my BFP I called the Doctors to get an appointment but receptionist told me they wouldn't see me about pregnancy and I needed to self refer to the nearest maternity unit. So I went on the website, filled out the form and now I guess I just wait? It feels so weird though not speaking to a professional about it or having it confirmed, almost like it's not real!

I'm def going to book an early scan though, need to see it to believe it I think and hopefully will put my mind at rest!

Hi girls hoping I can join you! Got my bfp yesterday - have a little boy at 13 months and prior to that had two miscarriages so trying not to get hopes up yet! I have tiredness and period like cramps but not much else. I forgot how worrying this stage is, and how the time drags!

amysara24 · 19/11/2019 18:24

I just got a 2-3 weeks on the digital so I’m taking that as a sign things are moving along nicely in there! My DH just keeps asking when I’m going to stop leaving “piss-sticks” everywhere 😂🤦🏽‍♀️
@stepmumma91 is this your first pregnancy? I made a dr appointment and the dr gave me a number to call to make the midwife referral. The lady phoned back and took basic info then a few days later the midwife phoned with an appointment.
I’m also checking for blood every time I go to the toilet - almost obsessively. I think after my first appointment I’ll be calmer, provided all is ok then.
@Windy1234 hi, and congratulations on your bfp! Hopefully everything goes well for you. It’s so hard not to symptom spot.. and every day seems to last for weeks!!

Hi ladies. I recognise some of you from the July 2020 antenatal thread, but this one seems more lively so I thought I'd introduce myself here.

Like many of you, I am absolutely terrified of something going wrong and on constant knicker watch! 5 weeks today so due around 21st July. No other DC and had two chemical pregnancies in the last year and a bit before this pregnancy. Have been with my DH nearly 8 years and married for 3.

Seen a few mentions of clear blue digis, I used my two and got 1-2 then 2-3 on Friday, kind of want to buy more but feel like I must stop POAS Blush

Welcome @EnglishRain and @Windy1234 and congratulations of your BFPs. Englishrain I am also 5 weeks today and due 21,07! Sorry to hear about your chemical pregnancies, is that when a miscarriage happens before 5 weeks?

@stepmumma91 I just called straight through to my local midwife referral and haven’t actually informed my doctor yet.

Hope it's not too late to join! Had a postive digi test on Friday but my cycles are never consistent so not sure if 4/5 weeks. Very nervous at the moment as currently having some very light brown spotting Confused 1st pregnancy, conceived in 1st month so feeling very lucky but also very anxious!

Wishing everyone a smooth 9 months ahead Smile

@amysara24 @Missdrifter ohhh, that's interesting. I will call docs tomorrow then and ask for the number for the midwife. Is it sad that I'm excited about that? 😂 This is my first. How about you?

@Missdrifter yay due date twins!

In my case they were before 5 weeks. I've read different things that some people class chemicals as anything before 6 weeks, others 5, others say it's at whatever point you wouldn't be able to see anything on a scan but have enough hcg to get a positive test.

Both times I had a positive and then started bleeding within a couple of days, so am crossing my fingers and toes that this is a sticky one. I am on metformin for PCOS and making sure I take that religiously, as I can be a bit rubbish at taking it sometimes.

Congrats @loumc90 !
