Anyone else just got their BFP? After 15 months of trying I have finally got mine, I am so excited but terrified of the long nine months ahead. Will definitely be going for an early scan in December for some reassurance!

I think we might start telling people at about 12 weeks. We're not telling the DC til later than that though, which probably means we'll hold off on telling either of our mothers until it's impossible not to (they'd just say something to the kids because neither of them has any tact).

I did tell my Pilates instructors, but I figured they actually needed to know as it's going to affect what I should be doing (and it's already making me feel like it's just harder).

I found out yesterday that my first grandchild is due in July. I hope that in the fullness of time my daughter will join this forum. She's in a lesbian relationship and her pregnancy is courtesy of an anonymous sperm donor and IVF - only her second attempt so she's been very lucky and of course it's early days yet but she had a scan yesterday that showed a heartbeat so feeling very positive. Congratulations to you all. Smile

It is my first and I know it will make both of our parents ecstatic. I went xmas shopping with my MIL yesterday and was shopping for baby clothes for my friends little boy for christmas and she was majorly broody making comments about grandchildren and it killed me not to tell her! Plus i was eyeing up stuff for us but couldnt look for too long for fear of suspicions ;)

I've been pinteresting like crazy and there are loads of cute reveal ideas. I'm thinking a card that says you've been promoted from parent to grandparent :D

@MrsPotts85 congratulations. Two years ago I bought my in-laws a Xmas card with grandparents on & signed it from baby, then just slipped it in with their cards x

Eeek, I also got my bfp this morning!
@Fsid00 same due date - 26th July (according to online calculators anyway 😂)

Fully thought AF was on her way yesterday, felt crampy and was miserable all evening.. poor dp 😂

Am I too late to join?

I had a very faint positive test on 13th November, went to the doctor who sent me for bloods and they were confirmed as positive yesterday, the 15th!
I'm currently 16dpo and my period is due tomorrow. I've had some light discharge which is brown when I wipe, should I be concerned? Has anyone else had this around their period due date?

My last period was on 15th October so my calculated due date is 22nd July 2020!

Definitely not too late to join @Louu99. Congratulations.

@Louu99 congratulations!
I spotted later the day that i got my bfp and the next day so i was concerned too but this has stopped since, so I read its quite normal and its your little bean burrowing in and making him/herself at home! Grin

Congratulations @Louu99 ! I had a little bit of this brown discharge two days and a day before my period was due (same happened in my first pregnancy). So far so good I'm 5+1 today.

@Ginblooded @Louu99 huge congratulations! I'm not letting myself get too excited just yet. But I'm so happy and so is the hubby.

After a MC in April I'm going to book a scan for about 7 weeks. I feel I need to see the heartbeat before spending Christmas with my in laws. They will defo bust me for not drinking Grin. I'll feel more comfortable letting them know if I see a heartbeat on a scan beforehand.

Congratulations to all the BFPs. I spoke to my midwife today and she has booked my booking appointment for the 23rd December when I will be 10 weeks? That seems so late to me so thinking about booking an early scan? How many of you ladies are thinking about going private to get a scan before Xmas? Also has anyone else been testing every day? I am terrified of a chemical pregnancy or missed miscarriage but my midwife told me that missed miscarriages aren’t that common x

Ginblooded · 16/11/2019 17:52

Just went to the loo and I'm bleeding a little. Really worried that i got a false positive or having a chemical. Line looks more prominent in RL.

@Ginblooded try not to worry too much, I think a bit of bleeding is fairly common in early pregnancy and the test is still showing you are pregnant. Fingers crossed it’s all ok for you.

Report
Fsid00 · 16/11/2019 18:28

@Ginblooded it could be implantation bleeding so try not to panic. I know that's easier said than done. There's definitely a line there so try hopefully it will ease off for you.

Ginblooded · 16/11/2019 19:46

Thanks @Missdrifter and @Fsid00.. I'm trying my hardest not to go into panic mode! I think I'll use my other frer tomorrow morning if I'm not full blown bleeding 🤞

@Ginblooded I'm keeping everything crossed for you. Please keep us posted.

Hi ladies, can I join? Got my bfp on Monday and EDD 23/7. Been TTC for 2 years and this is my first pregnancy. @Missdrifter & @WooMaWang lovely to see you both again!
I’m still having some cramping, very sore boobs and am quite cold a lot of the time!
I have a scan on 11/12 at the fertility clinic, as we conceived with the help of Clomid due to me having pcos. I’m so worried something will happen in the first 12 weeks.
I think we are planning on telling both mine and DH parents at Christmas time, as a PP said with a card from baby and a scan inside.
How is everyone planning on keeping their secret over Christmas? I’ve already offered to drive to the work Christmas party as it’s quite far away and there are a few of us planning to travel together, but I’m known for loving a party and I reckon people will notice!

Hi @amysara24! Lovely to see you on here. I am still having cramping in both sides and sometimes pain in my lower back.. my midwife told me this is normal. But I am like you and terrified of something happening. I might book an early scan for the week before Christmas but don’t want it to ruin Christmas if it’s bad news!

Report
amysara24 · 16/11/2019 21:46

@missdrifter it’s good you were able to get some reassurance from the midwife! I’m waiting on my callback with my first midwife appointment so don’t know when it will be but I’m assuming a similar time to the fertility clinic.
I know exactly what you mean, if everything goes well it’s a lovely time of year to tell family but I’m so scared something will happen and make Christmas difficult!

Mind if I join too? I got my BFP a couple of days ago, calculated due date 22nd July.

We're hoping to announce to close family on Christmas 🎄 we're just decided whether or not to go for an early scan first.

I'm already in a pickle, I volunteered to be a mystery shopper at a spa for my friend (before I found out) and so there are obviously treatments I can't have at this stage, so I feel I'm going to have to tell her!

There is also a Christmas party I'll need to make an excuse for and I've worked out I'll be 6 months pregnant on my friends hen do (a weekend of drinking and dancing).

In the grand scheme of things, these are very nice problems to have. Been TTC for a year, feeling very grateful for morning sickness, backache and exhaustion Smile

Anyone else trying to think up excuses for not drinking at their Xmas do? I'm a bit of a party girl, so everyone will be suspicious!

Report
amysara24 · 17/11/2019 08:37

@WooMaWang we’re quite literally in it together haha. That’s what my app estimated anyway!
@Mimi91 yep I’ve been having similar thoughts, though as you’ve said they’re very nice things to have to worry about. I’ve already offered to drive to works Christmas party, using the excuse of dodgy train times and having an early start the following day (though I know some people will question me!) and have a good friend and her dp coming to visit in a few weeks for a traditional cheese, wine & gin night - so I think I’ll have to tell them!
Is anyone else going to get an early scan? I’ve found a clinic locally which comes highly recommended and reasonably priced. They do early viability scans from 6 weeks, which would give us a bit of confidence telling family at Christmas.
