Hello everyone!

Floria, I really feel for your chocolate deprivation. This week I'm living up to my nickname on here - really wanting sweet food. Funnily enough for the first 16 weeks or so I couldn't face anything sweet...

Alicet, your break sounds lovely!

J20, glad you're better.

Inzi, the room sounds really cute.

We decided not to paint LO's room as it's a nice mint/apple colour already... but we've bought a border/frieze from Mamas and Papas (Barnaby Button range) and we've found furniture to put in the room too - cotbed, changing station, wardrobe. I want a glider chair - I sat on one in John Lewis and it was bliss. DH is more or less convinced too, so I think I'll get one.

Been to the hell that is IKEA today to get new sofa cover. Our corner sofa is cream and has been suffering the effects of too much normal life, so we've bought a new beige set of covers. The room is cream and beige already so they do go.

Have a good evening and good luck with all the various ailments!

oops, posted twice[blush[

Muppet-hope it goes ok with PIL, only 2 days to go! You poor thing. Why don?t you use them to take ds out and give you a break? am very about your cleaner, behind things as well!

Buffy-if you don?t feel right, go back and nag them, or you?ll end up feeling worse. Next time you are this neck of the woods we could maybe meet up if you have time?

Inzi-great news on the trace, take it easy with the decorating, you should be resting. i know, i know, says me

Apricot-I know its horrible when dc?s are away, but try and use the time to get some rest and do all the things you?ve been meaning to do but haven?t had time when you?ve got dd, hopefully the 2 weeks will fly by!

Alice-glad you had a nice few days, am thinking I may try and get a couple of days away in a B+B somewhere, just me and dd, not too far away or expensive, just a break, would be so nice, hmm, its my birthday coming up, wonder if any of my family will treat me yeah, right!!

Nellie-when you wrote that, I was sat in McDonalds eating a happy meal and drinking a latte, so was doing half of it definitely normal to be shattered, I have periods of weeks where I have to nap in the day and other times I?m ok for days at a time, I hate the dreams too, I had one the other night and ended up having to get up at 3 in the morning for an hour as I was really scared.

Greedy-oh no, nightmare FIL, poor you, maybe he?ll come finish them off?

Ft-glad the result wasn?t horrendous but it wasn?t great, surely you?ll be able to indulge now and then?

Choc-oooo I hate Ikea, glad your not psychologically damaged by the experience like I was the one and only time I went!

Just popped in to check up on everyone;

Hope ILs aren't too bad this time Muppet

Glad you are resting at last J20..well relatively..ooh and eeew about the nits[pulling face emoticon]I know just how you feel, I had to help sil sort out nephews with the same problem last week (after they had spent the weekend with their father and his new partner and her kids..)

Went to aqua natal for the first time tonight and had a great time (apart from feeling a bit like the granny of the group)though thought lo would have been more active in water (he/she usually is in the bath)in fact have noticed s/he is a lot more quiet recently..hope it is just lack of room...but met someone who has just transferred to my hospital and consultant and we had a joint "isn't he wonderful!" session!
Busy weekend ahead so don't know how much I'll get online...have a lovely weekend everyone

MrsFish · 18/08/2007 04:29

Is everyone sleeping soundly?

I have had a very restless night so far so have decided to get up for a bit. The rain has started here and its noisy in the room which is also keeping me awake.

I have this wedding to go to today and I just can't stop thinking about our dear friends. I am absolutely gutted for them that their day is going to be marred by such shit weather. Also selfishly pissed off that I have spent a fair wack on a summery outfit that is going to look very odd in this rain and that their marquee is in their field which I will need to navigate to (along with everyone else) I suppose the pictures may be amusing though, a nice pink dress with green wellies. I just pray that the weather people have got it wrong and we do have some spots of dry in between, but the forecast does not look good. Anyway enough of my whining, I'm sure it will still be a good do (fingers crossed)

nellieloula · 18/08/2007 09:48

morning everyone - mrsfish, dresses and wellies are very glastonbury boho chic!! YOu'll look fab I'm sure.

I have another question - has anyone else been having unwell spells? felt terrible last night, really light headed, jelly legs, very sick. At first I thought it was because I'd eaten my body weight in choc cornflake bites but it just didn't go away. Suddenly started really panicking about the whole impending 2nd child thing, which didn't help, then DS1 woke up at 5. And then it kicked in again - mercifully, DH has called in sick so he can do child care whilst I rest - I feel a bit better now I've had toast and they are out of the house (how awful is that) but still wobbly. I was going to call the mw last night but the problem is that the hospital is 30 mins away - so not feasible to just pop in on my own,esp as I don't drive. And anyway, aprt form 5 mins of really mild cramps, I haven't been in pain.

Sorry- that was a bit epic. Not sure whether it is a physical thing and in which case what do you think I could do?? or do you think it could be a mixture of exhaustion (looking after DS full time and absent DH and no family around etc is really taking its toll now) and panic about how I'm going to manage etc. My other thing - and I feel terrible writing this - is that this LO doesn't just kick but squirms around all the time (well s/he did yesterday) and it makes me feel so sick and then really irritated by it. how crap does that make me.

if anyone has felt like this, physically or psychologically, so far and if so any tips?? thanks ladies and apologies for the self involved outburst first thing on a weekend xx

Mrs Fish...I'm sure they will have laid a "path" of carpet or something to keep your heels out of the mud...if not it will all add to the memories of the day (everyone still says "OMG wasn't it bitterly cold!" about mine!) And the French have as saying that the more it rains on your wedding day the happier the couple will be...so if it is teeming down they're going to be bl*y happy! Hope you have a fab time and the weather holds off at least for the photos.

Inzi...I thought I'd be the biggest whale there, and though in the top 5 I wasn't the winner by a long chalk! Go and have some fun..I felt really good for it, ahd a really good nights sleep and my back is hardly hurting at all this morning!!! Give it a day at two parties today and it is bound to revert to normal but enjoying a break from the discomfort for the moment.

lisad123 · 18/08/2007 16:22

well im backfrom my lovely break

I relaxed a bit, but as someof you know misdees hubby had his transplant this week so didnt sleep much the night they did the op. My nan has also had a heart attack and got MRSA, so kinda gald i wasnt around with all this going on.

Im bruised from the injections, and my BP is up, so will have to watch that, but doing well.

hi everyone

nellie i think we're at that stage now where we all have off days, its crap, whenever i realise i'm going to have a real life baby again, i start to panic! hope you feel better

mrsfish-hope wedding was nice, the sleepless nights are awful aren't they? i suppose its our bodies preparing us!

Lisa- for peter about your grandma. is she doing ok? glad you had a relatively nice time away, i can't hardly remember the news myself, maybe someone else can bring you up to speed.

hi to FT and Inzi and everyone else

been out for a meal for my birthday tonight as my friend is going to be away on the actual day, i'm looking after her cats for a week, and she's bought me a present and given me £100 for my b-day and looking after the kittys to buy some nursing bra's and other stuff for the hospital bag, i said it was too much but her reasoning was that i'm saving her nearly £100 on putting the cats in a cattery, feel a bit overwhelmed really, bless her, might decorate her kitchen for her while she's gone

i'm reslly suffering from swellinmg atm, my feet ankles, toes, hands are awful, also i think i've broken one of my fingers as its still throbbing from banging it with a hammer a few days ago, and i can't move it very easily, but there's not a chance i'm waiting 6 hours to have it xrayed for them to stick a bit of tape round it!

also, who mentioned carpel tunnel syndrome? am still getting tingly hands that are difficult to use properly, am going to google it in a minute. last moan-i think its my sinus's, but i keep getting a pain running along my left cheekbone, can never work out whether its that, my ear or my teeth that are hurting! oh well, seeing gp on thur will try to remember to mention everything.

off to bed now, sorry that post turned into a bit of a moan on my aches and pains, for a change

night all, hope everyone sleeps well

afternoon peeps

How are y'all???

I am having a crappy day.

Got up at 9.50 after tossing turning weeing n drinking all through the night. Got DS up and asked him if he was going to be helpful today as he has been a little S* the last 3 days. He said yes and promptly refused to do anything i asked, DP has stood for 2 hours ironing clothes for our holiday tomorrow. Dp's and Ds's cases are packed and full of lovely clothes, and I feel like i have got nothing as I have half the clothes and am in a mood where everything is too girly/frumpy/fatty. I want my lovely jeans n skirts back sob sob. Ended up in tears and walking out before i slapped someone lol. Sat on the stairs outside had a ciggie and sat there crying. Text ds's sperm donor and told him to get his act together. DP and DS are now downstairs sorting car out for tomorrows journey to great yarmouth and I am sitting here on the brink of tears again as I am sure i haven't got enough clothes for holiday. Am about to pack maternity notes and following mummy's advice some baby grows etc incase i have lo while we away....

Anyway they are back now so speak later xxxxxxxxx

lisad123 · 19/08/2007 17:25

ChocolateHobnob · 19/08/2007 18:02

Hi all

Nellie - how are you feeling now? I guess we're nearing the end... so we're bound to feel off a bit of the time.

Lisa, people commenting on bump size has annoyed me for ages! Nobody could tell I was pregnant till I was about 24 weeks and then they kept saying 'you're so small! have you had that checked out?' Now they are looking at me and saying 'you've grown!' which in paranoid moments I can interpret as 'you look fat'. Mostly though people tell me I look great, so I suspect everyone I know is tactful and has learnt the best thing to say to someone pregnant!

LES - have you gone on holiday now? I'm sure that'll help.

J20, hope the finger isn't broken! and don't go decorating someone else's house now!

Mrs Fish, hope the weather was better there than here for the wedding!

Inzi - let us know how aquanatal was, if you go!

I'm fine. Had a lazy day - went to Mamas and Papas and decided on nursery furniture. Been reading most of the afternoon while DH ironed and watched the footie. It occurred to me that I need to make the most of relaxed reading time while I have it! Though I have longer than most of you to go (due 31 Oct).
Back to my book. Have a restful evening all!

MrsFish · 19/08/2007 18:22

Hello all.

God I am so tired and my bump seems to have grown again in the past couple of days. My ankles have swelled for the first time this pregnancy, must be due to all the standing up yesterday. Also my left leg hurts, not sure what I have done to it, but whenever I crouch down I get a sharp pain in my left leg all down the side from knee to ankle. Prob just the fact that all the ligaments are loosening etc, but I keep forgetting about it till I crouch down to pick something up and my leg gives way on me I can tell its nearing the home straight now, 6 weeks today, everything is such an effort and all my joints ache with the extra weight.

On an upnote, the wedding yesterday was fab even though the weather was atrocious, it rained practically all day and night and the field the marquee was in did become very muddy, but they had done it so nice inside and it was very spacious so was quite happy inside. The food was fab and it was a free bar although I couldn't partake DH drank enough for both of us. We left quite early (10.30pm) as I was knackered, but it was a wise decision, if we had stayed till the end (1am) I am sure DH would have been unconscious. The happy couple are now on their way down to Heathrow as I type this for a month long honeymoon in Australia - its alright for some Bride looked absolutely stunning I felt very heffer like by comparision. Can't wait to be able to start dieting again and get my body back in to some kind of shape.

Anyway enough about me, hope you all had a good weekend

j20baby · 19/08/2007 19:08

hi all

i've been at the hospital for 6 hours, cos i had bad swelling in ankles and hands. and my hands where tingling and i had a headache that wouldn't go away, so i just rung to see if the could check my BP, anyway got there at 12, sat for 2 hours, had bp and urine done, which was fine, so i thought, great can go home now, but no, they monitored the baby till 3.15pm, then i had to wait for the doc, by 5pm i was crying with frustrstion because i knew they where just going to send me home! kept trying to discharge myself, doc came at 6.30 and told me to go home and rest, am so and weepy and tired, they also left me without food or a drink, until my friend went and asked for something for me, am never never going there again until i'm in labour. oh they also confirmed that i do have that carpal tunnel thingy, and offered to refer me for physio, but i said i'd see how i go.

sorry for the rant, am so tired and hungry, going to have some tea and then watch tv and get an early night i think, sorry for those of you having crap days too

Well hello ladies I am back from my week away! Not looking forward to having to deal with the early mornings after all the help I have had but sure I will get used to it! Only 3 weeks back at work now?. Have to say I can?t wait as I?m pretty shattered at the mo?

MrsFish ? think I was awake at the same time as you on Sat am!! Should have come to say hello rather than trying to get back to sleep and getting more frustrated!

Nellie ? I am feeling exactly like you! Totally drained, bouts of feeling sick and dizzy and quite frankly cr*pping myself silly at how on earth I am going to cope with 2!!! Totally fed up with pregnancy ? don?t seem to do it very well and don?t enjoy it ? yet also not really wanting to end because of what it will mean! Sure we will both be fine but its still very scary isn?t it? As for the physical I just try and eat lots (which helps the sickness) and rest as much as is feasible with a manic toddler?

Lisa ? glad you had a lovely week and that Peter is doing well. Sorry to hear about your Gran though ? will be keeping my fingers crossed for her x

J20 ? don?t even THINK about decorating your mates kitchen!!! Can understand you wanting to after her generosity (what a star!) but you need to look after yourself! Do something less physically taxing like cooking her a meal for her first night home?
About your finger ? if when you bend it it goes in the same direction as the others you could just strap it to the next one as this is likely all they will do anyway. If it?s bent and especially if it points in a different direction when you try to make a fist then go to A&E ? this can cause big probs later. Understand your reticence at waiting ages so hope that?s helped you decide if its really necessary or not!
Sorry to hear about your crap day too ? sending you virtual chocolate and big hugs x

LES ? Hope you have a lovely break away!

Floria ? glad you enjoyed your aquanatal and its helped your back! Inzi ? hope you pluck up the courage to go too ? sure you?ll have a fab time and sure you don?t look like a whale!! (Either of you come to that!)

Lisa / Chochobnob ? I have had such varying comments on my bump I now tend to switch off as soon as someone comments. As long as you feel you are getting bigger and you are happy ignore ignore ignore!! If you are concerned yourself get it checked?. A couple of weeks ago I became convinced I wasn?t getting bigger but all it took was a trip to the midwife to be reassured lo is cooking just fine thanks!

Hello to everyone else ? hope you?re doing well x

By the way just posted this in AIBU - would be interested in your comments either here or there....
