thanks lisa, glad to know that im not alone!!

its just so draining though isnt it?i mean you start getting the contractions, get all worked up and then it stops!and with it happening during the night,im not sleeping much.

your due date is the day after my planned cs!my consultant has said that if i go into labour now she will section me straight away.so each time i start contractiong,i start pooing pants incase this is it and i start thinking "oh god in a few hours i could be having surgery!!"stupid to panic about it know, because its what ive asked for!but im still gteting worked up about it all the same!!

are you like me,just wishing it would go one way or the other?(labour or wait)im getting so fed up now that i just want it over and done with.

sending you hugs aswell!!!xx

buffythenappyslayer21 · 10/09/2007 11:18

just realised i havent put myself in the right place on the stats thread!!sorry!!

alicet · 10/09/2007 12:04

Mump ? sorry to hear you?ve had such a rubbish weekend although great to hear you?re on the mend now?

Muppet ? sure you would cope just great whatever happened. Can understand your worries though after your PND last time and also the uncertainty aspect. We are lucky in that we have lots of friends who live very close by who could have ds at short notice and my mum is coming to stay from 38 weeks in case he makes an early appearance. But I get on well with her so this is not a big issue. Fingers crossed you get everything worked out in your head?.
Don?t try to drive yourself to hospital if dh doesn?t get home in time. I would have had a crash! When I called the labour ward they asked if I was OK for transport and would have arranged an ambulance for me if necessary. Not sure what the crack would be about Ollie though?. Is ther noone nearby who would help out in an emergency?

Lisa ? when my waters went I didn?t hear anything but I was half asleep in bed. Just felt all this water coming away that I had no control over! When I saw it it had flecks of white stuff in and smelt vaguely sweet?

Buffy ? sorry you?ve had another crap weekend hon. Don?t know how you manage with your brood and being pregnant ? you must be superwoman! Not surprised you?re feeling emotional! I am as bad from time to time (not so bad last few days?) and I don?t have anything like as much to cope with!

Big hugs to everyone I haven't mentioned individually - I think we all need lots of them at the mo!

We have had a lovely morning - similar sounding weather to you Floria with glorious sunshine and a strong breeze - in the park, then for a coffee and to get a few things for tea. Hardly any food in the house but couldn't face big supermarket shop today. Will try nad go tomorrow or Wed when I don't have ds with me. Feeling pretty tired and sore now though! Fed up of being pregnant really but having said that REALLY want him to stay put for a little longer so I can have some me time on maternity leave and get everything sorted I have been leaving till now.....

Mumpbump · 10/09/2007 12:20

Hi Alicet - I am dead jealous of you! Can't wait to be on maternity leave now! I did say to my mum last week that I was quite looking forward to it if the weather stayed like this. Earlier in the summer, all I could think of were days stuck indoors with a bored toddler!! You sound as though you're making the most of your time anyway!

nellieloula · 10/09/2007 12:37

Hello everyone - sympathising big time with the rollercoaster - only just got back to speaking to my DH after a mad weekend!

Muppet - I am in a smiliar position if I go into labour early (DH 2 hrs away, hospital 40 mins away and no child care). My mw and dr have both said I need to ring the delivery suite and they will arrange an amubulance to come straight away and that I'm to take DS with me - as they said, it wouldn't be the first time someone has come in with a child in tow! Once they both said that, I did feel a lot more reassured about it all. I'm also making sure I have toys and bribes in my bag at all times now! (can't remember who said it but I love the sweet/vitamin thing!!) have to go but just wanted to share that. have a better afternoon everyone (- good luck with the contractions - and mrsfish, dont' beat yourself up - looking after a child on your own whilst pg is patience testing at best - you deserve a big hug. well done for getting through the 10 days, i know exactly how hard it is )

alicet · 10/09/2007 12:39

Trying to make the most of it mump! Doesn't really feel as though I'm off yet as don't work Mon anyway. But will be nice to have tomorrow and wed with ds in nursery! Problem is there are actually quite a lot of stuff I need to do but definately going to prioritise the chilling and sleeping! Not making any plans before lunchtime any day! When do you go off?

Mumpbump · 10/09/2007 12:59

Wednesday is my last day, subject to what the hospital say when I ring back for my test results this afternoon. Like you, I have so much to do! Dh is taking Thursday off to help me sort out bedroom out - looks like a bomb site at the moment - and then I have grouting and painting to do and a couple of sets of curtains to make. Suspect I might just end up sleeping - can't believe how much I can sleep at the moment - and it will all still be waiting for me to do in 6 months time... I know your ds is the same age as mine - what is his birthday? Mine was born on 9 Feb.

alicet · 10/09/2007 13:17

Mump my ds's birthday is also 9th Feb!!!! What a coincidence! And looking at our due dates it wouldn't be that unexpected for it to happen again! Hope your test results are OK this pm... Wed is not too far away!

muppetgirl · 10/09/2007 13:46

Hi all,

Scan went well and Henry is still big so I'm still on course for induction at 38 weeks (Yippee!!! I can plan) I seem to have extra fluid around him which accounts for the being so bloody uncomfortable yet only 32 weeks. She checked the blood flow in the cord and all seemed well so really pleased.

Ollie was a star and sat on the chair. You should have seen his face when he saw his little brother on the screen! It was so cute. He was in total awe....As soon as the lady turned the lights on he said 'can I have my sweetie now?' So I gave him it -the bassets chewy vitamins, they look just like fruit pastiles without the sugar -and he thought he was the bees knees x

Going back to the what to do with Ollie thing, last year all my neighbours were still off after having children but this sept 3 went back to work (2 mornings, hence afternoons are fine) and I know it's silly but I keep forgetting that he could actually arrive in the night!!

I get scanned agin at 36 weeks and then have a consultants app to decide about the induction. Yes it was a nightmare last time but I feel so much more informed about what I'd like to happen that I feel this really is the best thing for me. IT would give me the control I'm desperate for, it would end my fears about not having an epidural and it would also enable me to plan Ollie so he's not worried at all. I would even ask MIL to come down to look after him which she would love to do and I wouldn't mind as I won't be there the stress!

Inzi - hope all goes well with you. At least you will hopefully get some answers soon. Good luck!

Apricott · 10/09/2007 14:32

Well hello ladies,

Agree with Inzi - let's at least make some semblance of trying to hang on til October ! This thread is getting just too dramatic!

Hope you're all as well as can be expected. I'm exhausted and feeling and being sick regularly again, but apart from that, everything's fine, oh not forgetting the odd surge of inexplicable emotion. Trying not to think too much about birth etc til after I've had the scan on Friday to see wehther the placenta is out of the way now. After that, will be able to start properly preparing self (and DH!).

Had a quiet weekend compared to some of you. Yesterday DD heard the baby's heartbeat and couldn't hide her delight despite constant assurances that this (baby) is going to 'ruin her life'. She's had a major clear out, which is great, but means the landing is now literally covered in stuff she no longer wants. Feel several trips to charity shops coming on...

Floria - didn't any of your dh's stag friends have partners who could have done the ferrying about who aren't eight months' pregnant? Found myself cross on your behalf! Hope they were all suitably grateful, tho being men they will never have the faintest idea what this is pregnancy business is like (the good bits or the bad).

Take care all of you xxx

HonorMatopoeia · 10/09/2007 16:02

Hi ladies,
Please excuse this me, me ,me post but I'm in ! Had my consultants appointment this morning at 10am, finally got out of there at half past one. The first thing she said was, 'You look very big and uncomfortable' and sent me for a scan to measure the baby. It turns out that, if I went to term, this one would be 10lb 5oz . I almost passed out! Apparently the size of the baby explains the faints and breathlessness I've been having. So the VBAC vs Elective section decision was more or less made for me! The consultant said she would never suggest someone didn't try for a VBAC but, in my case, I would definitely struggle (being a short thing myself who struggled to get an 8lb 5oz baby out!)So I'm booked in for October the 17th with the option to bring it forward when I meet her again in 3 weeks time. All I can say is Oh. My. God. It seems all too real now!

Sorry that's all about me but i am not thinking straight at all. Hope those with pains are coping ok and those without are able to rest.

hi all, just popping on quick-winnie text me earlier, her placenta has moved and everything is ok, i thought i'd post about it as she hasn't been on.

have scanned the thread but not properly, had just got comfy this morning when my friend came round to ask me to take him to A+E as he thought he'd broken a rib, finally got back just in time to pick dd up, can hardly keep eyes open properly so going to lay down for half an hour, will catch up properly in a bit.

Hi all,

Just a quick post. Sorry to hear that so many of us are experiencing some uncertainty at this time.

I just cant believe how many posts there have been in the last few days. Is it a sign of nervous posting as our due dates draw nearer, or maybe the cyber equivalent to 'nesting' insticts kicking in.

Im also feeling tired, stabbing pains, sore hips and pelvis and cramps in my legs. Its such a chame we are not sharing 'nicer' experiences at the moment.

Stayed behind at church and prayed for everyone who has posted on this thread. I really wish everyone all the very best and that we will all fell more positive as our due dates get ever closer. Although this is not the most physically comfortable time for me, im still really excited to know that soon enough i'll be looking back and remembering now (if that makes sense!).

Just about made this post before we need to start a new thread. Any title suggestions?

HonorMatopoeia · 10/09/2007 16:15

I always think something along the lines of 'This little Piggy had a Section, this little piggy stayed at home' . But it's not very catchy is it?!

monalisasmile · 10/09/2007 16:20

Cleverly funny in a subtle sort of way. I like it. Dont think the title has to be 'catchy to count'. Im off to pick up DD from nursery school now; sure i'll be chuckling throughout the 40 minute drive!

MrsFish · 10/09/2007 16:33

Sorry, I'll catch up with everyone later, I just want another moan..

Am I being totally unreasonable... I don't think I am but then again I might be, so please bring me back down to the ground if I am

After the babysitter fiasco and her deciding to go on hols over due date, but then going a week later (which is good) my mum phones me today and says, you aren't going to give birth early are you, as I have the chance to go away for a week, getting back on the 27th Sept...

...then dh rings, am I ok booking to do a corporate clay pigeon shoot day on the 4th Oct, you'll be ok won't you?

WHY IS EVERYONE PLANNING TO DO STUFF SO CLOSE TO MY DUE DATE?????

I have no idea when this one decides to come, but it could come a week early or a week late and everyone seems to want to be elsewhere.... I am so bloody frustrated and feel like I am being very unreasonable, I just want some stability fgs

lisad123 · 10/09/2007 16:34

Honor: love the thread title
I wonder how many of us hold out till oct? .

Inzi hope your ok, and they havent kept you in again, unless needed.

Buffy: yes im bloody shattered I cant sleep due to contractions but when they die down enough for me to sleep im so uncomfertable. I would rather she make a decision and stick to it, but it is a girls right to change her mind

Muppet glad you can plan I would love to be able to plan, makes me feel better, so congrates

Hello Design (waves)

Sorry if i missed anyone.

That's great news, Inzi.

I have to go back for more blood tests on Wednesday. Apparently, it's something to do with my liver so I guess they're going to check for that OC thing... I HATE blood tests...
