I think thats great muppet. Clear points made as briefly as poss.

One thing I would say that I was advised by a friend who is an anaesthetist is that if poss wait until you are at least 5cm before having an epidural. Because they tend to work better if you have experienced some labour pains first and are also better able to cope if it doesn't work properly.... Just maybe worth thinking about if you go into hospital before then... Ignore me if you wish though! Your birth and you should obviously do whatever works for you to make this a more positive experience than last time

alicet · 09/09/2007 20:47

cross posted lisa - hope all settles down....

muppetgirl · 09/09/2007 20:51

Lisa -

Alice - I feel a little between a rock and a hard place with the epidural business. I am worried about losing the plot as last time dh had to agree + sign to epidural as I was non communicative but are also equally worried about being told I'm too far on to have one. This thought absolutely terrifies me.

Inzi, I would definately phone NHS direct (who always tell you to see your dr!!)
or your delivery suite and ask their advice

muppetgirl · 09/09/2007 21:04

I am assuming you don't normally get red rashes from your bath??

Evening all, just a quickie from me as I am absolutely knackered.

Spoke to babysitter, she has booked her holiday for the 6th October, so as long as I don't go over a week overdue, we should be ok. Phew, what a relief

Well nesting seems to have kicked in big time today, I have barely sat down other than dinner at MiL's. Spent the morning sorting out my fridge/freezer, we have a new one so have been moving things over and then cleaning the old one ready to sell/get rid of. Then started sorting out all the kitchen cupboards, then under the stairs, its amazing how long it takes. Then general tidying up, I have literally just finished and decided to have a quick look on here before bed.

Hope you all have a half decents nights sleep. I'm hoping I have tired myself out enough to do just that, but I won't hold my breath.

j20baby · 09/09/2007 21:59

MG-sounds good, i may nick a couple of bits off you now! i had a horrible time with dd, and found it hard to communicate too, thats why i have tried to include everything in my birth plan.

Inz-honestly!! you know you should be ringing the mw, i do underdstasnd your reluctance though. if you get any other symptoms please ring them. have you stopped taking the ab's? i really hope your ok and get a decent nights sleep

lisa-sounds like your going to have to ring mw if they get any closer! i don't think i even know what contractions feel like, i can't remember from dd, i just remember being in constant agony.

hi greedy hope you are ok, and don't i wish it'd been beer!! or pear cider-my favourite craving at the moment

ChocolateHobnob · 10/09/2007 06:48

Hi all

Lisa how are you this morning? How are the contractions going?

Inzi, how's the rash? Hope it's gone.

Been reading through the thread but am half-dead this morning after a sleepless night (and DH infuriatingly saying 'you won't be able to get up complaining of being a zombie in a few weeks time'...). I gather some people have consultant/hospital/midwife apptments today and tomorrow, so good luck all of you! And specially Inzi as you go back to the hospital. Plus J20 with the horrid infection.

I forgot to comment on this from Muppet earlier- the MIL thing. We've somehow managed to turn our house into a no-overnight guest zone so I'm safe from mine I think, but I presume they'll still come, and not with a car, and will want entertaining, so it won't be that easy. How do you cope with visitors, newborn and learning to breastfeed? It sounds impossible to me!

I can't believe how soon it is for some of you! Floria - next week?! Alice, Mrs F, J20, Lisa, all really soon too.

I started a list yesterday of everything I'll need, culled mostly from old threads here. Still hazy about details so will probably ask!

OK am too tired to think and write more and have a working day ahead so will sign off. Good luck everyone!

Morning all,
Good luck with appointments etc today, hope the rash has gone Inzi, and contractions calmed down a bit Lisa.

I'm getting very emotional at the moment -( dh bearing the brunt) but he seems to be relatively oblivious to the fact that number 3 is imminent, whilst I am rushing about trying to get everything sorted etc.... men

Anyhow, will now stick myself on 'the list'

Morning all ... dh got up at 5.30 am ... I think I talked to him - I definitely intended to, but I may just have grunted!

Have sorted out ds - he came into bed with me for a cuddle when he woke up - and then we counted to 200 (as you do ) ... he got to 99 on his own, then said "mammy, which number is next?" When I told hi it was 100, he said "but don't you need a lot more numbers before you get to 100?" Very cute!

Adding myself onto stats... and then going to eat breakfast!

MrsFish · 10/09/2007 08:36

Sorry an early morning moan...

Morning all... well this morning started out crap emotional overreaction from me this morning which is unusual because I have pretty much remained quite stable throughout this pregnancy so far, probably why dh has no idea how to handle me. Felt really tired and achy after yesterdays exploits, so when ds woke up and was shouting me at 7am (I know that's not early) I shouted back for him to get back into bed, not too mean but a bit short, well he started crying, dh then started going on at me (in his nice calm reasonnable way - which winds me up more and makes me feel really guilty) about how unfair I was being, and it wasn't ds's fault I was tired, and perhaps I should go bed earlier if this is what I am like.... angry tried telling him that going to bed earlier won't solve it, its because I wake up so often and |I'm uncomfortable... and I have just had 10 days of ds to myself with his tantrums and whining and early mornings and I am just SICK OF BEING PREGNANT NOW so excuse me for being a bit grumpy then I burst into tears. I wouldn't look at him and he has gone off to work, he will be wondering how he can help me, but he doesn't understand that there is nothing he can do to help, and sometimes I just need to be left alone to calm down, because he makes me worse when he is trying to be nice.... anyhow, the day can only get better can't it sorry for that rant.
