A shiny new thread for our May mum's.

A big thank you to @Shak19 for setting up the original thread, you started this group and we are all so grateful for that.

Here we go, month three in the pregnancy journey 👣

@facevalue thank you, it is nice. Feel relaxed all ready!!

Emmacb82 · 17/10/2019 07:57

Hey how’s everyone doing?

I had my booking in yesterday, got 2 more days then I have my early scan on Saturday. It seriously can’t come quick enough. I shouldn’t moan about having hardly any symptoms but it doesn’t half make you worry. Haven’t slept the last 2 nights so struggling with tiredness today. Just want to see that little heart beating then I can relax (for a few days!)

Helensss · 17/10/2019 08:06

@firsttimer1980 lovely pic! I keep thinking I wonder if I’ve made it all up in my head too 😂

Sunshine8888 · 17/10/2019 08:28

Yay congrats @firsttimer1980 we’re only 3 days apart.

I can’t believe I’m 12 weeks today! I never thought I’d find myself here, I feel so happy 😃 at work just smiling to myself. There’s still a bit of anxiety while I await screening and harmony test results but I’m starting to believe this might actually be happening x

firsttimer1980 · 17/10/2019 09:19

@Sunshine8888 that's so cool, I'm now due 3rd May, a day before our 1st wedding anniversary... @Purple29 glad I put your mind at rest a little, but be hard with OH away.
@facevalue I had screening at the scan yesterday so will find out in the next few days if I'm high risk, and go from there. Haven't though of doing anything privately yet...

@firsttimer1980 my wedding anniversary is few days from yours on 7 may. my due date is currently 17th may but because i want a C section it will be at 39 weeks so probably the 10 May!

i've had a headache most of the night and this morning. i was going to take paracetamol but my mum said avoid all drugs until 12 weeks 🙄 i think we r all going a bit loopy cos we know it's harmless but still thinking in this old fashioned way

mrsf1204 · 17/10/2019 10:03

@Purple29 I totally get the anxiety, it's such an uncertain time and so long to wait to hear any news! I've had early scans and heard a heartbeat at 7 weeks but I'm still so nervous about 12 weeks.

I've started having the tiniest amount of light brown discharge today, and I mean tiny, like two specks when I wipe if that. But I'm still worried. Anyone else have this little discharge causing them worry? It's honestly the smallest amount but we've just had such a wobbly start everything worries me.

Sunshine8888 · 17/10/2019 10:09

@mrsf1204 I had brown spotting until 9 weeks, it’s likely just all the extra blood and things stretching. When’s your next scan? X

Purple29 · 17/10/2019 10:45

@firsttimer1980 yeah that has made it harder, but hes home for the scan and not due to go away anywhere till the august, so will be here for the rest of it. Thanks everyone for the reassurance, just gotta keep shaking myself and saying its really happening. A week on monday till an early scan, cant wait to see a heartbeat... would like to say it will settle my nerves but that probably wont be true until may and I'm holding baby.

mrsf1204 · 17/10/2019 10:59

@Sunshine8888 I'm not sure yet I'm waiting for my appointment. I've had my booking in app just waiting on the scan date.

zoemelb · 17/10/2019 11:09

@mrsf1204 I also have tiny brown discharge a few days back. Was very worried if it continues or bleed more. But thankfully it didn't spot or bleed more than that. Can't wait for my 12 weeks scan in 12 days. Already have 3 scans (2 with NHS for spotting) and 1 private so I think my DH won't be happy for another scan but I'm very tempting.

Sunshine8888 · 17/10/2019 11:23

@mrsf1204 was that at the RUH? Mine came in the post three days after the booking app so pretty quick x

Sunshine8888 · 17/10/2019 11:24

@zoemelb I will have had 5 by my second Nhs 12 week scan on Tuesday 😂

mrsf1204 · 17/10/2019 11:39

@Sunshine8888 no my booking in appointment was in my hometown but my first scan will be at the ruh. In my notes she's got me as 11 weeks but I explained how I've had early scans and I know the conception date both of which date me at 9 weeks. She said I'd get a letter at 11 weeks so in theory it will come through in the next couple of days then I'll have to phone them and say I'm a couple of weeks behind.

facevalue · 17/10/2019 11:48

@mrsf1204 mmm but st my early scan they said they can't date the pregnancy until the 12week scan so i think your midwife is doing the right thing- unless u had ivf ( u know the exact date they fertilised your egg- embryo created) then i think maybe just go for it and they scan u again if it was too early. obviously u really hate being scanned and can't be bothered to have two because u busy with work then delay it x just a thought

facevalue · 17/10/2019 11:50

i would love another free scan lol without it being due to bleeding etc ..

PrincessConsuela12 · 17/10/2019 11:56

Hi ladies 👋🏼

Hope you're all well.

I haven't posted in a while, sickness made things a bit rubbish for a few weeks but feeling better now & have my scan in 6 days!!!

Can anyone tell me where I can find petite maternity clothes please? Jeans in particular... I am having some issues finding any short enough!

Thank you 😊

Sunshine8888 · 17/10/2019 12:02

Yes @mrsf1204 I went knowing it was too early just for the reassurance really, I’ve been called back Tuesday when I should be 12+5

facevalue · 17/10/2019 12:09

@PrincessConsuela12 i've got the opposite problem as most trousers are abit short. would you consider an alteration service? might be better to just buy what fits and just cut it shorter x

Lady7978 · 17/10/2019 12:37

Hi!!! I'm 8+5.
Had booking appointment on Sunday. Midwife and student midwife seemed nice. Had 2 gos getting my blood that day with no luck. Had the 3rd go on Wednesday morning by HCA and no luck. It was 4th time lucky, having to go in to hospital to get it done. Horrible experience 😔
I've been nauseous over the last few weeks. Boobs are so sore. Getting up after laying down feels like they're been dropped. Bitter taste in mouth all the time and constantly tired.
I keep waking up at about 4am and not been able to go back to sleep till about 6/7am and it is awful as I've got to be at work. I just keep yawning ALL THE TIME.

firsttimer1980 · 17/10/2019 12:38

@PrincessConsuela12 have you looked at ASOS?

mrsf1204 · 17/10/2019 12:45

@Sunshine8888 oh ok, I mean I guess it would help to know everything is ok? This discharge today has me so unsettled.

facevalue · 17/10/2019 14:06

@Lady7978 you just described my life! i hope you get some better days soon x i'm 9+5 so i've have few hours a day when i felt ok

PrincessConsuela12 · 17/10/2019 14:24

@facevalue I think I'll have to if I can't find any.

@firsttimer1980 I haven't actually, I'll give ASOS a go. Thank you!

KerryM1983 · 17/10/2019 15:38

Thank you @facevalue and @kstann
I'm ok it just gets a bit much some days when your feeling so ill every day. I was hoping week 11 would give me some relief but it's definitely not. Insomnia has kicked in too. My scan is next Thursday 24th @kstann, will be 12 + 3. When is yours?
