A shiny new thread for our May mum's.

A big thank you to @Shak19 for setting up the original thread, you started this group and we are all so grateful for that.

@Sunshine8888 that made me LOL. My OH was following them round the room with his eyes yesterday 😂 had to tell him to mind where his eyes were

@Wishful30 thinking of you today, take care xxx

Wishful30 · 14/10/2019 09:02

Sitting in a&e waiting to be seen. Been told it's unlikely I'll be scanned today as I have an appointment tomorrow... going to 'at least take your vitals' 😑

helpasisterout · 14/10/2019 10:00

@Wishful30 I'm so glad your DH will be with you as even the strongest ladies can lose their voice in these scary situations. Let him insist on your behalf that you need to be scanned TODAY as the anxiety of waiting until tomorrow is cruel and unnecessary. Take care fingers crossed for positive news x

Bean is doing really well, is now 40.1mm ! It wouldn't keep still and we got to watch it spinning around and moving as they couldn't get the measurements - suddenly feels very very real !!!

@Shelbustotherescue how lovely!! ❤️ how many weeks are you?

@Wishful30 really sorry you are going through this; I hope they'll scan you and give you good news. Sending hugs.

Sunshine8888 · 14/10/2019 10:37

@Shelbustotherescue fab news, looks so much like a baby now 😊 you must be just under 11 weeks with that measurement? Mine was measuring 39mm and that was 10+4 apparently! How exciting 💕

helpasisterout · 14/10/2019 11:03

I'm going to a spa on Saturday with some friends think I will be around 9 weeks.. not looking obvious yet so that's ok but I am booked for a shoulder neck massage will this still be ok? Mixed messages online re massage in early pregnancy! Also hot tub use and excuses for not going in? I know some people will just say tell your friends but I just want to keep it between Dp and I until after our scan to make sure all is well! Thanks for any tips girls 😘

Shelbustotherescue · 14/10/2019 11:05

I am 10+6 today Smile it's crazy how much it looks like a real baby - especially when you compare it to the scans I've had at 6,7&8 weeks !

november90 · 14/10/2019 11:28

@Wishful30 I cannot believe how you're being treated! It's absolutely disgraceful. I'm so glad your partner will be there with you, sometimes you just need someone there to fight your corner too! I'll be thinking of you today, I have everything crossed for you as it's been such a tough journey all ready!

november90 · 14/10/2019 11:31

So week 9 was surprisingly a good week for me. My sickly waves seem to have gone and boobs less soar. I've still been massively tired and a bit grumpy but other then that I've felt better and happier to eat different foods! Part of me is a bit worried about feeling better as I thought week 9 was supposed to be the worst, but at the same time everyone deals with it all differently don't they so o don't think it's fair to expect to feel the same! Anyone else feeling the same?
Starting to get cravings for pick and mix sweets which is very random! And cold cereal....
I did have some pains last night, anyone else still cramping slightly at 9 weeks?
I just want to have my 12 weeks scan, this feels like it's been the longest wait ever!

JBFletcherstypewriter · 14/10/2019 11:35

@helpasisterout oh I’d love nothing more than a spa treatment but I think you should contact the spa and let them know... they may have a policy where they refuse to give certain treatments for under 12 weeks, they should also be able to let you know about the jacuzzi if you can just put your legs in to join in the conversation but say that you’re feeling really hot and don’t want to go all the way in or something? ...

@Wishful30 hope you’re ok, glad to know that your DH is with you xx

firsttimer1980 · 14/10/2019 11:40

@helpasisterout I tried to go for a pregnancy massage at about 8/9 weeks and they wouldn't do it, instead I was offered a foot and hand massage with mani/pedi which was a good compromise. I would have thought a neck and shoulder is ok, but probably not worth the risk especially if you find you can't properly relaxing because you're over thinking it. See if you can swap for the mani pedi option. As for hot tubs... can you say you're just feeling a little over heated and don't really like them...??? That's a tricky one. Good luck!

Wishful30 · 14/10/2019 11:55

Still none the wiser. Bloods not back yet.
Been examined and no 'active bleeding'
🤔yeah there is...
Cervix is closed so either that means miscarriage is pretty much over or it's a threatened one.
Still no one able to scan me. Got to go back at 1:30 to see if someone coming on shift can do it. If not, then scan booked for 11am tomorrow.
I just want to know either way really... can't believe I've been left hanging

november90 · 14/10/2019 12:22

Oh @Wishful30 💗💗💗💗
I thought your cervix were always closed in pregnancy! I remember my consultant saying mine were closed before I had my first scan!
Are they hoping to give you some answers today? I cannot understand why they won't scan you! It's disgusting!

Wishful30 · 14/10/2019 12:47

@november90 I think she meant if it's open it's an active miscarriage but if it's closed it's already over.
However I'm still cramping and spotting 🤷🏻‍♀️
I get the impression there's no one competent enough to scan me. The US department are full. So someone is coming on shift at 1:30 who, if they do t have anyone waiting may or may not have time to see me.
So currently killing time around the hospital as we live a good half hour drive away 🙄

flossy12 · 14/10/2019 12:58

@Moonstone12 aww thank you sweetie!! Yeah I found it ☺️☺️

Helensss · 14/10/2019 13:19

@Wishful30 I really really hope you get some answers and they have someone to scan you! I’m glad you aren’t alone ❤️

sazzlerazzle · 14/10/2019 14:24

A very happy Monday for me... after stressing the whole weekend about not having my scan date, I rang the ultrasound dept at the hospital (thanks for the advice @Helensss ) and they told me the letter was sent out on Friday so I should have it today or tomorrow but confirmed 24th Oct on the phone. So happy to know it’s booked in, plus it’s my mums birthday that day and we had planned to tell her on her birthday so it’s perfect, all being well :)

Hope everyone is well. @Wishful30 thinking of you today x

woollycat · 14/10/2019 14:31

@november90 so I am 8+1 today and similar to you the nausea is much better today, and I haven't thrown up for the last 2 days! Week 6 and most of 7 were horrendous so I am really relieved it's better but at the same time curious like you - I have also read that week 9 is supposed to be the worst and I am not even there yet!
My take on this is that everyone is so different and blanket statements like that are usually about what's the most common, but obviously there are so many people that don't fall into that group! I say, let's enjoy it while we can :)

helpasisterout · 14/10/2019 14:46

@JBFletcherstypewriter @firsttimer1980 thanks guys! I just called the spa and they were really helpful so I have a separate form to fill in which I can do in advance so the others don't see it and will be assigned to a therapist who is qualified for pregnancy and she adapts techniques and products accordingly so looking forward to it much more now.. just hope I don't feel so 🤢 on the weekend! Thanks for your advice!

firsttimer1980 · 14/10/2019 15:14

@helpasisterout that sounds brilliant! Have a lovely time

Helensss · 14/10/2019 15:37

@sazzlerazzle ahhh that’s my scan date too and so lovely it’s your mums birthday! It’s my husbands on 26th so hopefully an early birthday present 😊

Wishful30 · 14/10/2019 15:54

Finally got seen. I have a gestational sac measuring 6weeks. It's uneven and has a large haematoma in it, taking up about half the sac. There is a yolk sac but they can't see a baby.
At 7+3 I should have a baby with a heartbeat by now.
Unfortunately due to the harmatoma they can't definitely give me an answer so I have to go back in 2 weeks.
But basically... that's that then 😞

There was girl being admitted earlier as it sounds like she's got the same problem so having it manually removed.
Really hope I don't have to go through that!!
