A shiny new thread for our May mum's.

A big thank you to @Shak19 for setting up the original thread, you started this group and we are all so grateful for that.

@Wishful30 I was one of the ladies who had frequent spotting from 4-9 weeks. Mine was also rusty and stained a liner but didn’t fill one. I had it about 2-3 times a week. I never went to the epu but I did have a couple of private scans to check all was ok. It’s horrible but in my case both scans showered a heartbeat and the source of bleeding couldn’t be found around the pregnancy. Have you been on birth control? Or had any cervical biopsies?

Wishful30 · 13/10/2019 10:49

@Sunshine8888 no.. had my coil removed 2 and a half years ago and been trying ever since.
No tests or anything in/around there.
Had a scrape last year as I had a 'pitted' uterine lining. One of many things along the 'unexplained infertility route'

Trying not to worry too much. Keep telling myself it can be 'normal'
So if the cramping kicks in more or the rusty colour turns redder I'll head over to a&e.
Thinking resting and relaxing indoors is maybe better than a trip to a&e 🤷🏻‍♀️

KerryM1983 · 13/10/2019 10:52

Thank you @Helensss

Sunshine8888 · 13/10/2019 10:53

@Wishful30 any past interferences with the cervix can leave scars which can cause bleeding during pregnancy. Brown blood is old blood, I agree if it turns red or gets heavy then you should go and get checked. Rest up today, hopefully you will find that the bleeding stops and you can go and get checked on Tuesday. Based on what you’ve said I have a good feeling that your baby will be just fine 💕

Wishful30 · 13/10/2019 10:56

@Sunshine8888 Thankyou so much, that's so sweet, now I wana cry 🙄😂
I can only but hope and keep my fingers crossed. X

Sunshine8888 · 13/10/2019 10:58

@Wishful30 I’ve been in your position numerous times so I know how nerve wracking it is. You just need to have faith in your body. Tell yourself ‘my body knows what it’s doing and my baby is secure.’ It helped me through the most anxious and overwhelming moments xxx

Wishful30 · 13/10/2019 11:01

@Sunshine8888 Thankyou ☺️

Helensss · 13/10/2019 11:04

@Wishful30 @Sunshine8888 I too had spotting between week 4 and 6, pink and brown. I didn’t actually have any scans but my midwife said it was prob due to cervical biopsy and wasn’t concerned.

Hopefully bleeding stops and you can get seen on Tuesday, you are right about a&e you could end up being there for hours! I have my fingers and toes crossed for you 😘

Wishful30 · 13/10/2019 11:06

Thanks @Helensss xx

Lifesforlivingandloving · 13/10/2019 11:55

@Wishful30 thinking of you & hoping all works out well for you!

BeautyAndTheBump1 · 13/10/2019 12:36

Hi ladies!
I'm due 29th May and I'll be honest this pregnancy is crippling me! 😩
So my extrene nausea and all day sickness started at 5+4, 6+4 I was hospitalised and put on an IV drip as I was literally being sick 10-15 times a day and had ketones in my urine and was told I have hyperemesis.
I'm now 7+2 and I'm only vomiting 2-3 times a day but the nausea is literally sooooo bad. I feel like I'm on a boat, I struggle to get out of bed cus when I do I throw up, so I spend my days laid here waiting for it to go away 😩 I'm on my 2nd lot of anti-sickness tablets which seem to be doing absolutely nothing!
I'm sorry I seen to have literally came on here just to moan 😩 I am def feeling sorry for myself at the minute 🙄 and I have to go back to work tomorrow which is wonderful 🤮

Wishful30 · 13/10/2019 12:42

@BeautyAndTheBump1 poor you!!! 😕 hope it all goes away soon for you!!

Are you being sick coz you're feeling dizzy do you think??
Coz really they need to try and stop the dizziness if that's the case!
I read someone else used those little sea sick/travel pressure bands and it helped. You can get them in most chemists, Superdrug ect
Worth a try. Inexpensive and just a wristband so no meds xx

Wishful30 · 13/10/2019 12:44

@BeautyAndTheBump1 sadly you may also be dizzy coz of dehydration. But if a viscous circle for you!
If you try and sip some rehydration drinks (lucozade sport contains caffeine) and can actually keep it down you may feel a teeny bit better 🤷🏻‍♀️
Wishing you well ASAP!

JBFletcherstypewriter · 13/10/2019 13:07

@Wishful30 oh no, I’m sorry to hear you’re having more issues today, just when you think that it’s settled aswell... for what it’s worth they told me at the epu to come back if I had heavy bleeding - having to change a pad every hour - which I think is extreme! If I’m honest I’d go back before it got that bad but if yours is rusty then there’s obviously brown in it so that’s a good thing... when I went to a&e on the Friday they still weren’t able to scan me until the following Tuesday so probably best to stay at home and relax if you can and see how you feel.. it’s awful though isn’t it, every trip to the toilet is so nerve wracking!!

woollycat · 13/10/2019 13:36

Lucozade Sport is s life saver for me in terms of staying hydrated when I can't face any other liquids.

@Wishful30 according to the bottle it does not contain caffeine - see the photo attached - are you talking about regular Lucozade?

Babies Due May 2020 thread 2
Wishful30 · 13/10/2019 14:00

@woollycat oh that's interesting... I read somewhere that it did. I had a bottle and ended up drinking half one day, then finished it a another day (not that I have caffeine in anything other than chocolate 😂)
Lucozade sport saved me when I was in hospital too!

Wishful30 · 13/10/2019 14:03

@JBFletcherstypewriter I don't even need to change a pad every hour with af. 🤦🏻‍♀️
Think that's half my issue. Af is usually fairly light and lasts 2-3 days, so any kinda bleeding now is just scary 🙄

JBFletcherstypewriter · 13/10/2019 14:41

Ya I totally get you @Wishful30, I’m exactly the same

JBFletcherstypewriter · 13/10/2019 14:43

I’m sorry but I don’t recall if you’ve had a scan yet @Wishful30, they were able to see a source of the bleeding on mine, it doesn’t make it any less scary mind but at least they were able to give me a reason

Wishful30 · 13/10/2019 14:57

@JBFletcherstypewriter I've been booked in to the epu Tuesday. Hoping they'll scan me then. Not had a scan as of yet. Maybe that will help put my mind at ease a bit 🤞🏻
I think it's all a bit surreal still given my history. Need to see a baby on a scan to actually believe it I think.
Feeling wiped out and a bit emotional today.
Had a nice snuggle and a nap with my cats.
Currently less spotting again so 🤞🏻 it's easing up now.

Helensss · 13/10/2019 15:09

@Wishful30 I think they’ll scan you as you are 7 weeks now, just gotta get tomorrow now and then you’ll get some answers. Enjoy your animal snuggles! They don’t understand but they do help don’t they xxx

Wishful30 · 13/10/2019 15:18

Ok, so I just threw up. Not had any sickness as of yet.
Deffo not food related. Maybe bug related coz everyone at works been ill.
But as I feel ok otherwise (shattered) I'm going to blame it on my lil nugget and take it as a good sign!! 🙄😂

Wishful30 · 13/10/2019 15:19

@Helensss I hope so. The midwife did say scan to me. Just hope hubby can make it.
My cats knew I was preggo the moment I arrived back from my holiday. They've both been extra cuddly ever since.

Raindancer411 · 13/10/2019 16:33

I am having another horrible day with nausea 24/7 :( I cannot stand drinking or eating to much. It's worse than the first time I was pregnant. Went to the doctors as was worried not drinking enough but urine was all good. She has given me omepranzol (spelling) for acid with zantac as a back up. It was zantac was ok and omeprazol wasn't but it's apparently the other way now. The omeprazol isn't working but I am loathed to take the zantac after hearing of a recall on the 150mg and the pharmacist said it's not ideal for pregnancy now. I am seeing midwife Tuesday so will ask her about the sickness but I may need to go back to docs as I cannot travel in a car presently
