A shiny new thread for our May mum's.

A big thank you to @Shak19 for setting up the original thread, you started this group and we are all so grateful for that.

Here we go, month three in the pregnancy journey 👣

@november90 that's a shame. it feels like NHS staff are burnt out which ofcourse isn't an excuse but it's a reality. they are chronically short staffed and overworked so it's a symptom of that.

when i'm shattered i have no patience even with my own child. i think next time they should write it in your letter that no children are allowed so you can reschedule instead of her being cold and grumpy towards you xxx hugs

Herewego2020 · 11/10/2019 21:02

Hey ladies been ages since I've posted. I'm so over this tiredness, never had it with my 2 boys and this has put me on my back.

@Sunshine8888 I laughed at the jelly snakes lol. I just spent ages begging my son to share his starmix teddy bears and rings lol.
I still keep blowing up like a balloon everytime I eat which is annoying. I'm so bloated too @mrsf1204 I cant stand it.

I have to go for my birthday meal with family involving my mum on sunday who I've still not told. Oh mum knows but I chose not to tell mine till after 12 week scan in 1st november. I keep testing the waters with my boys about a sibling and my youngest gets so angry and shouts, but when my oldest was plaiting (well attempting) my hair I said "i better never give you a sister cause you wont be helping with her hair" 😂😂 he laughed and said he would be great at it. So least he was more positive lol.

Sunshine8888 · 11/10/2019 22:10

@november90 that’s really not great at all! I just admit at my nhs scan yday it did feel like a time management game. It was like one in one out, full waiting room. The scan was very impersonal, the sonographer was like I’m tired it’s been a long day ... I mean I know they see babies all day but at least try and be excited for me! At my private scans it’s been so much better

JBFletcherstypewriter · 11/10/2019 23:38

@Jemstar33 Congratulations!! I’m the other lady on the thread at the moment who knows there’s twins in there!! It is very eeek isn’t it?! Although from knowing others who have twins they all had them first before having other kids which I’ve heard isn’t as daunting because it’s all you know if that makes sense? I have a DD 19 months and I’m freaking out, haha... although my DH and I have decided that we’re just going to get through the next few weeks to get to the 12 and then if all ok we can think about logistics and practicalities...

@Sunshine8888 beautiful scan photo, hope you’re still feeling positive and looking forward to your next one...

I am mega anxious this time round.. I’m still wiping brown every so often which scares the hell out of me when it happens and I’m having all sorts of aches and twinges that im completely paranoid about.. DH has been amazing, told me I just need to concentrate on looking after myself and resting when I can for the next few months (not easy with DD!) but said I also can’t control if anything happens so I must at least try not to be so stressed over every little thing..

We have a private scan booked for 2 weeks tomorrow which I’m so nervous about as obviously I’m hoping to still see 2 healthy strong heartbeats, I’ll be around 9+2 then - we’ve both told our immediate families the news and now I kind of wish we hadn’t, I’m feeling under immense pressure to make sure everything’s alright and it’s still quite early days Sad

Jemstar33 · 12/10/2019 07:23

@JBFletcherstypewriter congratulations to you too! I think I’m 3 days behind you from your next scan date. Have you had a scan yet, do you know if yours are identical? It is very eeeek but soooo exciting I am over the moon. I know we’re not in for an easy ride by any measure and I’m trying to look at it the same way as you, just get to 12 weeks.

Sorry to hear about the brown stuff when did that start? I hear you’re more likely to spot with twins so try not to worry.

Your DD will love playing house with two real life babies ❤️

I’m wiped out, can’t remember the last time I saw 10pm but apart from that I’ve had no other real symptoms. Sickness hasn’t started yet. How about you? I’ll be 7 weeks tomorrow. Have another scan for 8+2.

With you on the pressure, I’ve told my friends and family too.

zoemelb · 12/10/2019 09:45

@Jemstar33 I have told some of my friends and family too. The one I meet and talk more frequently, just feel awful to lie. Can't wait for the 12 weeks sacn on 30th October to tell the rest.

I'm exactly 10 week today, and I think the symptoms have eased off a lot. Hopefully won't come back. Barely nauseous. Really hoping to avoid vomiting at all on 1st trimester. Still burbping, front heavy, and sleepy. But a lot better than last week. Hurray 25% download of pregnancy has been reached. :-)

JBFletcherstypewriter · 12/10/2019 10:55

Hi @Jemstar33, ya I had a scan last week at the epu, that’s how I know I’m having twins... I went to a&e on advice of the midwife due to the bleeding that started at 5+6 and they scanned me at 6+5, they just said I’m around 7 weeks so my dates seem to be adding up there or thereabouts. They said they could see a cause of the bleed and they put it on my discharge letter that the sonographer is to check it again at the 12 week one...

I hope you’re right about the spotting, I’m so paranoid at the moment!! But they told me at the epu only to come back if I get very heavy bleeding so they didn’t seem too concerned..

I don’t know what my DD will think of 2 new babies, my DH and I are here on our own so have no family in the country, they will visit of course but there’s no one to swing by every day or every couple of days so DD might be appointed “head of nappies and wipes” or something Grin...

I have felt absolutely rotten the last few weeks, only been sick once but the nausea is deadly and you’re right the tiredness is unreal!! I am carrying a packet of ginger biscuits around with me like a handbag...

So fingers crossed that the 12 week mark comes quickly for both of us!!!

woollycat · 12/10/2019 13:01

Happy weekend everyone! My nausea is a little better today and I have been able to eat an actual meal - ready made chicken salad feom Waitrose! It feels like a huge achievement.

I am 7w6d today so not keeping any high hopes that it'll get better yet but every day feeling a bit ok is a big win!

Those of you who had really bad sickness and nausea - is it gettimg better now you are in weeks 8/9/10?

Helensss · 12/10/2019 13:25

@woollycat glad you’re feeling bit better!!

I haven’t had any actual sickness, just nausea but this morning was at it’s worse and I’m 10 weeks 😂 I have got a horrible cold as wel and took paracetamol, wondering if that added to it as I’m sure it should have calmed down now! Xx

NiffleTime · 12/10/2019 13:42

@woollycat Glad you’ve been able to eat! Take that win while you can!

I’m 8+3 now and pretty much feel the same as weeks 4-7, knackered and nauseous. About 5 days ago I started actually being sick so that’s fun - so far today I haven’t but it’s either first or last thing so we’ll see. Somewhat dreading week 9 as the midwife said it tends to be the worst.

May2311 · 12/10/2019 15:51

I’m 11 weeks exactly today. Nausea has definitely got better over the last week. I thought the tiredness/exhaustion was easing as well over the last few days until this morning when it has hit in full force again!! Is it just me or does the first trimester seem to be going so slowly?!? Hope everyone is having a nice weekend. X

Kittykatp90 · 12/10/2019 16:25

Hi ladies, new here, 6+2, got early scan on Tuesday and to go on 22nd just for clearer sizing ect. This will hopefully be my 4th child, got a 13yr old girl, 8 and 4 Yr old boys. Such a diff feeling this time, think it's a girl so diff with my boys and can't remember much 13 years ago lol. Nice to meet you all and take on this journey with you all xx

Clairesoph · 12/10/2019 16:35

Been quiet for a min but the sickness seems to have peaked, Im so hungry then I eat and I bloat and feel uncomfortable and the nausea lasts the whole day :( finding this quite hard. Ready for the second trimester and that heavily promised "burst of energy" quite desperate for a scan now to know how far along I am, I honestly have nothing to go by except Clear Blue said 3 weeks+ on the 23rd of September. That could mean anything 😭

Helensss · 12/10/2019 17:09

@Clairesoph yep I can’t wait for my energy back either!!! Do you know when you ovulated? X

Clairesoph · 12/10/2019 17:12

@Helensss I have no idea! The only thing I know is my cycle is extra long at about 38 days but I cannot remember my last period, so I didnt know I was due on. I kept feeling sick and my boobs hurt and thought "here we go again" I havent used any protection since my son was born over a year ago 😕

Helensss · 12/10/2019 17:44

@Clairesoph oh haha that’s quite exciting though, do you have a scan booked or anything?

Clairesoph · 12/10/2019 17:49

@Helensss no nothing yet, midwife on Wednesday though so hopefully ill get a scan for a week or twos time 😆🤞🏻 worst case scenario im only 3 weeks, best case Im 11 weeks and all of this sickness is nearly over 🥳

Jemstar33 · 12/10/2019 19:54

@zoemelb congratulations on your 25% download haha I’ve not heard that before. I’m hoping to avoid the sickness too. I have felt nauseous but lucky it passes. Today I’ve spent the whole day sleeping and I can’t wait to get into bed tonight!

@JBFletcherstypewriter we also don’t have family nearby, my parents are 4 hours away and DP 2 hours. Sometimes a blessing but I will need them more than ever now. 5 weeks until I hit 12 weeks, feels like forever to go!

Sunshine8888 · 12/10/2019 21:21

I’m 11 weeks and have found nausea worse in weeks 8-11 🤢 But I think it’s due to tiredness being worse and making me feel a bit sick. I just can’t wait to get to 13 weeks and into the second trimester. DH and I did tell a couple of friends today, it’s a bit early but we won’t see them for ages and wanted to tell them in person.

Wishful30 · 13/10/2019 09:48

Having just not 'felt pregnant' for over a week, I've had some shooting pains followed by spotting.
I had brown spotting week 4-6 and was told it's quite common even tho I was also cramping.
This morning it's rusty and compared to what I had.... there was a fair bit. 😞
Got a bit of period like pains now so I've called the midwife. Just waiting fir a call back.
I'm 7weeks.
I know there are a few ladies on here who have experienced similar so I'm trying not to panic.
My dh is at work till 3:30 🤦🏻‍♀️

KerryM1983 · 13/10/2019 09:49

Hi all. I've had constant 24/7 nausea for the last 5 weeks since week 6.....I am 11 weeks tomorrow. I've really struggled with it and it's definitely got the better of me sometimes. I'm off food and fluids and just hoping and praying that it starts to get better. Had an emotional breakdown last night that seems to be a weekly occurrence at the moment. I suffer from lupus and fibromyalgia so my body is definitely working overtime at the moment. I'm constantly feeling bad for feeling down as it has taken so long to fall pregnant but it's only because of how ill I've been feeling.
Sending lots of love to everyone x

Wishful30 · 13/10/2019 09:52

They won't see me till Tuesday 😫

Helensss · 13/10/2019 10:31

@Wishful30 oh no you are really having a hard time! I don’t think Tuesday is good enough! You could always go yo a&e when your hubby is home? I don’t think it’s fair for you to wait that long at all, hope you are ok ❤️

Helensss · 13/10/2019 10:34

@KerryM1983 don’t feel bad, and cry when you want, hormones are crazy. I really am not myself much at the moment, you are not alone! I hope your sickness gets better xx

Wishful30 · 13/10/2019 10:36

@Helensss the midwife said 'if you pain gets really bad or your bleeding is very heavy you can go to a&e'
Like... thanks then I'll just sit here and worry for 2days then 🤷🏻‍♀️
Don't really want to sit in a&e for 5hours to be sent away again 😑

I'm resting up for now, hoping the rain might stop. I could do with going to the shops. I'm torn between resting and, well, there's nothing I can do about it either way so may as well just carry on 🤦🏻‍♀️
