Woke up this morning with no nausea. I've managed to eat. 9+2.
Trying not to freak out & think the worst.

Helensss · 11/10/2019 13:01

@Jemstar33 I haven’t had my scan date through yet! I don’t know if that’s normal in my area or not... I’m going to phone up and ask later if it hasn’t come when I get home. Xx

facevalue · 11/10/2019 13:13

@Doodlebug321 haha you sound like me yesterday! woke up feeling normal and ate! later in the day i feel very nauseous and had to take an anti sickness pill- trust me just ENJOY it i'm today suffering with sore boobs feeling tired - less nausea ... i think from 8 weeks it starts fluctuating and easing a little x it's normal

@mrsf1204 i think if anyone thinks i'm not pregnant then they are idiots ... i'm already in my maternity jeans and i look rough ( usually i take pride in my hair and looks) now i drive in PJs under my coat 😂😂😂 awful

I'm so tired 🤐

@helensss i had to chase it up. i recommend you call and ask. i got my appointments a day after i rang. so it's sorted now xxx

mrsf1204 · 11/10/2019 13:22

@facevalue I'm living in leggings but even they are uncomfortable! I've been unbuttoning my top button on my jeans at work and I honestly look massive! Thankfully a few at work know already 😂

@Doodlebug321 don't worry I'm the same! I only had proper sickness for a week but since turning 8 weeks I'm just a bit nauseous with the occasional dry wretch - nothing like I was last week. As @facevalue says I think it's fairly normal. I've still got sore boobs and I'm shattered. Are you getting pelvis ache? I've had quite a bit of that and pains in my thighs and legs. Almost like stitch. I keep getting worried about it but apparently I shouldn't be...

Helensss · 11/10/2019 13:53

@facevalue yeh I’ll ring up this afternoon I think. Should I ring the day centre community midwife number? X

Sunshine8888 · 11/10/2019 14:07

Yes I look pregnant, it’s getting so hard to hide now especially after eating. Currently eating a bag of jelly snakes. So unhealthy but feeling so rubbish. I can leave work in 2 hours, counting down the minutes

helpasisterout · 11/10/2019 14:19

@Sunshine8888 your scan is lovely so pleased it went well and hopefully keeps you going knowing you need another in ten days or so!

helpasisterout · 11/10/2019 14:20

I'm being such a brute today only felt sick until 11am so went to a shop and treated myself to a mountain of snacks and I've cleared the lot 😳 my bad eating is totally getting on top of me but the thought of salad or veg stir fry at the moment gives me the heave! 8w tomorrow 😬

mrsf1204 · 11/10/2019 14:27

@helpasisterout I am exactly the same! I'm usually such a healthy eater but the thought of salad veg or fruit makes me heave! I'm drawn to all the bad stuff at the moment. Had a massive bowl of hot cheesy pasta for lunch which is the biggest meal I've eaten in days and it was AMAZING. But I've started to feel queasy again now!

helpasisterout · 11/10/2019 14:31

@mrsf1204 glad it isn't just me! Can't wait to feel better and get back to cooking and think I'll go back to slimming world to be weighed regularly!

mrsf1204 · 11/10/2019 14:53

@helpasisterout my mother in law is a SW regional consultant and is willing me to eat better but that ain't happening at the moment 😂😂

Helensss · 11/10/2019 15:05

Got my date! 24th October 😬 so scared x

facevalue · 11/10/2019 15:56

@helensss that's fantastic. is that for the scan or midwife? why are you scared?

Helensss · 11/10/2019 16:03

@facevalue scan! I’ll be just 12 weeks then (based on mine and midwifes estimations)
It is exciting but I can’t help being really scared after my previous experiences. They were natural miscarriages rather than missed but I am sooooo nervous! X

Sunshine8888 · 11/10/2019 16:51

Yay that’s exciting @helensss I reckon my rescheduled scan will be around then too!

sazzlerazzle · 11/10/2019 16:53

Aah that’s very exciting @helensss ! I’m getting really frustrated now as I’ll be 11 weeks on Monday and still no scan date. I asked my midwife a few days ago, she text me yesterday to say she’s waiting to hear from the scan department. 😩 My husband has to give 2 weeks notice to book time off work and I’m worried the date will be sprung on us with no warning!

Helensss · 11/10/2019 17:07

@sazzlerazzle can you phone the number they gave you on your file? I haven’t received my letter yet I just phoned and she told me the date on the system. Yeah you will need to know,’I’d be the same! Xx

@Sunshine8888 oh really, I hope I have a scan date buddy! It’s also 2 days before my husbands birthday so hoping it’s a good present for him Rather than a bad one 🤞🏻 Xx

sazzlerazzle · 11/10/2019 17:13

@helensss oh that’s great they were able to tell you over the phone! The number on my green notes is just for the community midwives team and she told me to speak directly to my midwife (I don’t know if any other areas have this but my midwife is part of a team called the Continuity Team? So instead of going to a surgery or hospital to see a midwife and potentially seeing someone different each time, you see the same midwife each time and they come to your home for your appointments.) Did you ring the hospital?

I feel like I’m being a nuisance ringing again and asking, I know that the scan doesn’t have to be bang on 12 weeks but I’m just so impatient and want to be able to tell my family 🙂 x

firsttimer1980 · 11/10/2019 18:17

@helpasisterout @mrsf1204
Yes! Thank god I'm not the only one eating so much crap. Even the breakouts on my face aren't stopping me from chowing sweets and cake! I don't even like cake usually!!! I am praying trimester two is a different vibe and that I'll become this glowing earth mother who eats only organic vegetables and drinks gallons of water 🙄

november90 · 11/10/2019 18:55

So I had my booking app today and last minute plans meant I had to take my little boy with me. He gets really upset at the doctors but I didn't have a choice and I took snacks. Anyway it was a disaster. He was busy for about 5 mins and then just so unsettled. But what made it worse was the midwife I saw. She wasn't friendly in the slightest. She made no chat and just clearly did not want to be there. Last time we had such a good convo and I was given so much advice but this time was just awful and I've walked away feeling so upset :( sometimes when you have children you have to work around them and plans fall apart, everyone knows that. It's almost like the midwife was disgusted if taken him :(

sazzlerazzle · 11/10/2019 19:22

@november90 I’m so sorry you had a bad time :( amazes me when I hear people say their midwife was grumpy or rude - why going in to a caring profession if you can’t show empathy?? Will you be able to see someone else next time?

Helensss · 11/10/2019 19:39

@sazzlerazzle yeah I phoned the hospital day assessment place I think! Not 100% sure but I wouldn’t worry about hassling, there must be people that ring all the time!

@november90 oh noooo that’s not nice!! Maybe see if you can ask to see someone else? X

Bumpingalong84 · 11/10/2019 19:47

Ahh @facevalue I work in Sutton 🙈 what a small small world!!

Ohh @ sazzlerazzle that’s so poor, I can’t believe you don’t have an appointment yet, they gave me mine at 6 ish weeks along with my booking in date with midwife! It’s funny how it’s so different from area to area.

Ohh @november90 I’m so sorry she was a rubbish midwife, I hope you don’t have to see her again. Last time I had to take DD with me and the midwife was ok with it. Luckily I didn’t have to take her yesterday but like you say we can’t always rely on having childcare, it’s so hard so you’d think they’d be understanding!!

november90 · 11/10/2019 20:03

Aww thanks ladies! I'm just upset as reaching the booking app was such a milestone and I just felt like she couldn't have cared less! I've been really worried as well as I've been getting really thick, stringy CM (it's clear and doesn't smell) and I wanted to ask her but I was so upset I forgot! Now I'm worried and I have no clue who I'm supposed to talk to!
Luckily she said she isn't my midwife and was a stand in! I think I have 2 ladies and one was the one I had last time so that'll be nice! I honestly felt like walking out of my app today :(

Bumpingalong84 · 11/10/2019 20:11

Next time you see a midwife you should definitely complain about her. It that first big appointment that is meant to be to reassure you and go over any concerns you have! She had no right to judge you for bringing your son with you.
