A shiny new thread for our May mum's.

A big thank you to @Shak19 for setting up the original thread, you started this group and we are all so grateful for that.

Here we go, month three in the pregnancy journey 👣

@Sunshine8888 also use the pessary but insert with your fingers. I used it a lot during my first pregnancy! The tablet was not advised due to it getting in the blood stream!

facevalue · 10/10/2019 22:42

@Bumpingalong84 hehe we zone5 so definitely london but i like to say it's surrey makes me sound more country hahaha we are in sutton - never know we might become ladies that lunch during Mat leave 👍🏼😉

@Sunshine8888 i was having this conversation with my mum! she recalls having recurrent troublesome thrush in pregnancy due to the hormonal imbalance and tried everything - it completely cleared after she delivered x i think loose cotton underwear avoid all perfumed soups etc use the pessary and cream for your partner. talk to your GP x goodluck

i gave in and took an anti sickness tab i'm starting to feel human x

sazzlerazzle · 10/10/2019 23:31

What a gorgeous pic @Sunshine8888 you must be feeling on top of the world right now! ❤️

zoemelb · 11/10/2019 07:18

@Sunshine8888: congrats, lovely pciture. It's very assurance for sure. :-)

Got my 12 weeks scan letter yesterday, on 30th October, would be 12+4 I think, looking forward to it.

Does anyone suffer from terrible night sweats? It happens quite often to me since week 6, especially when i feel cold the night before. Waking up wetting the bedsheet, and the singlets. Quite worrying that I may toast the baby inside :-( - thankfully, it seems like I have been wake up after couple hours only, and feel very thirsty. Probably being a back sleeper doesn't help, try to sleep on the left now.

Hi ladies hope it’s ok to join.

I’m on the due June thread but had an early scan on Tuesday and found out I’m due 31st May with twins (eek) so I won’t go full term.

Been one hell of ride to get where we are, TTC #1 for 18 months which sadly ended in mc after 5 weeks and only one cycle later we conceived again and here we are. I’ve been on clomid which increases your chances of multiples.

So so excited but so nervous, saw babies heartbeats on Tuesday and have booked another scan for 22nd. I’m so paranoid after losing #1 and I’m not having many symptoms at all.

Hoping by joining this thread and you all being ahead of me I can learn from you all. I think I’m in for a shock ❤️😂 xxx

facevalue · 11/10/2019 08:14

@jemstar33 welcome and congratulations. we have another lady here who saw a twin on her scan but she already had one baby b4. a few of us had MC and MMC and this will be our rainbow 🌈 baby/ babies. all very excited.

you know that due date is not a definite thing so it doesn't matter if you are on the April/ May or June threads it's the same chat, stress and comfort i'm sure x

@zoemelb feeling hot and cold is normal but drenching sweats that you have to change a nightie or bed sheets is not and if that happens I'd speak to the midwife. tbh i don't sweat generally but my hubby for example sweats when asleep it gets damp😷😷😷 so it could be just be the hormones x try layers rather than a thick duvet. i'm using 3 thin soft blankets and occasionally socks that might be better for you to control the temp.

Sunshine8888 · 11/10/2019 08:24

@november90 no still keeping quiet for now! If all is ok at the harmony test next weds I will tell my best friends that weekend as I’ll be around 12 weeks. My second nhs scan should then be that following week I’d imagine at 12/13 weeks. Thank you for advice re pessary and also @facevalue

@Jemstar33 wow twins that’s so exciting!!

Jemstar33 · 11/10/2019 08:30

Thanks ladies.

@sunshine8888 is the harmony test available via NHS?

Sunshine8888 · 11/10/2019 08:34

@Jemstar33 no sadly not, I’m having to pay £429!

Jemstar33 · 11/10/2019 08:36

@sunshine8888 wow!! I wonder if I will need to pay per child?! That’s crazy. Is everyone advised to have it?

Sunshine8888 · 11/10/2019 08:40

@Jemstar33 no not at all, you can just have the nhs screening which is free. But the harmony test is a lot more accurate. It also can tell you gender from 10 weeks although I’m not sure it can with twins x

Jemstar33 · 11/10/2019 08:45

@sunshine8888 great thanks, I’ll have a read into it. My first midwife appointment isn’t till 6th November I’ve got so many questions! X

zoemelb · 11/10/2019 08:52

@facevalue thanks. I asked the midwife in my initial appointment with her at 8+4, and she said the sweating is because hormone changes and no harm to the baby, she was a very nice lady, but I'm not sure if I can trust her information. My next appointment with the local midwife isn't until Wednesday next week, it's the earliest I can book in. Will check with her again, because I don't think this much is sweating is normal/good. I google in the forum, it said could be anaemia or low iron level as well. Confused For now just trying to drink more water, , take a warm shower and buy sheets to layer rather than duvet. Funny enough, during the day, I'm cold sometimes freezing.

Doodlebug321 · 11/10/2019 08:53

@Jemstar33

Congratulations!!!

There's some info here on Harmony accuracy with Twins. www.sonicgenetics.com.au/nipt/faqs/the-accuracy-of-harmony/
If you look part way down there's a question re: twins & an explanation.

Jemstar33 · 11/10/2019 08:57

Thanks so much much @doodlebug321

kstann · 11/10/2019 09:19

@Jemstar33 Good morning and congratulations!🥰

This is where I went for my early scan, obviously local to me, but their information is very informative.
Here's the link (for anyone else interested in NON INVASIVE TESTS Too) xx

Helensss · 11/10/2019 09:20

@Jemstar33 hi 😊 I am in a similar boat,
Long time to conceive but much of that was to do with my body settling after the pill, then 3 early miscarriages, got pregnant straight away after the 2nd and now 10 weeks eagerly awaiting my scan date and very nervous for it! My friends joke about me having twins as my husband is one and we have 5 sets spread over both of our family’s 😬 id love it though I think x

Helensss · 11/10/2019 09:20

*after the 3rd sorry

Jemstar33 · 11/10/2019 09:32

Thank you @kstann ❤️

@helensss so sorry to hear of your losses. Keeping everything crossed for you! When is your scan? I have been too anxious to wait for my official one, it’s not until the end of Nov. I’m lucky as a place near me have an offer, £80 for 2 scans which I’m so glad I went with. They gave me around 10 photos to take home too! Will have a scab at 8 weeks on the 22nd.

Yes I know what you mean about loving twins, I’m over the moon. Obviously more stress and higher risk but I’m just trying to stay positive that all will be well.
I’ve read a lot of different stories about twins and I think identical are not hereditary, non identical are, but I think it has to be on the woman’s side. None of that applies to me though, no history of twins on my side. It was the clomid that did it for me 😆 X

Hayley220 · 11/10/2019 11:33

Hi everyone!!

I haven’t posted on here before but have been watching. Had a previous miscarriage - empty sac. Currently due 7/5. I had an early private scan at 7+1 and had a strong heartbeat of 141bpm and measuring spot on. I’m now 10 weeks and still feeling all the symptoms but obviously nervous. My scan isn’t until I’m 12+3 in a couple of weeks.

At my early scan there were 2 sacs and one was empty so it would have been twins but the other one didn’t develop. Anyone had this before?? I’m very nervous about bleeding (haven’t had any yet). They said it should reabsorb but I am scared! Although sonographer did not seem phased by it.

Also wanted to ask have any of you had the flu jab yet? I’m nervous to have it in the first trimester and did you have any side affects?

Xx

facevalue · 11/10/2019 11:52

@hayley220 i had the flu jab and it's VERY important to have to protect you and your baby. i had slightly achy arm for 24 hours that's all. go for it. congratulations and welcome to the thread 😘👍🏼

Raindancer411 · 11/10/2019 11:54

I am waiting for my doc appointment to go and talk about some meds or ways to deal with this sickness. It's stopping me doing anything and I cannot act normal and keep this a secret to the 12 week point as I am now. Meant to be out with friend for her fathers birthday at the weekend. How is everyone?

Sunshine8888 · 11/10/2019 12:18

@Hayley220 I just had the flu jab yday, have a sore arm and not feeling great today but unsure if it’s related or due to people coming into work with colds 🤧

zoemelb · 11/10/2019 12:24

I'm getting my flu jab next Wednesday in my next midwife appointment too. Keeping on seeing people on the train/bus/ at work sneezing.

mrsf1204 · 11/10/2019 12:28

Is anyone else already looking pregnant?!? I swear I'm so bloated I look 5 months already 😂😂
