A shiny new thread for our May mum's.

A big thank you to @Shak19 for setting up the original thread, you started this group and we are all so grateful for that.

Here we go, month three in the pregnancy journey 👣

@Raindancer411 I was just coming on to ask the same thing.
I've been a bit dizzy here & there, if I stand up too quick etc. But today I feel like I'm about to pass out. Could be low BP with all the lovely hormones & increased blood volume. Although I've eaten so poorly and thrown up so much I wonder if it's related to that. It is quite common though and generally nothing to worry about thankfully 😁

ChampooPapi · 09/10/2019 14:30

@Helensss yes I am a frump but embracing it fully

@Doodlebug321 great information on testing and I agree with that conclusion, are you in the medical world by any chance? I'm sorry you are feeling so bad, it is like a horrendous disease that's for certain. It's just the pits. I have low blood pressure so often faint when they take my bloods in quantity, ask to lie down at your booking in when they take your bloods (if you haven't had it yet). I was hoping it wouldn't happen and then fainted sitting so ended up lolling between my own knees while my toddler held my limp hand. Not a good look

@Doodlebug321 if your feeling like this you have low blood pressure in my opinion, be careful , however much one wills oneself not to faint, it will happen when your pregnant so just sit or lie down when you feel the first rush of heat

@Clairesoph that made me laugh about your rage because I’m the same today! I’ve snapped at anyone and everyone today over absolutely nothing and my road rage was next level 😂 I’m also very windy today 😳😳😳

Helensss · 09/10/2019 16:20

@Clairesoph @sazzlerazzle rage is here for me too! Even my husband trying to spoon me in the night made me feel furious, I don’t want to be touched at the moment 😂 snapped at a few colleagues today as well...
Once I’ve had my scan and I can tel them they’ll be like ‘ohhhhhhh’

CharlieB93 · 09/10/2019 16:25

I’m the opposite with my OH, I’m very needy at the minute (cringe I’m normally a strong independent woman 🙄😂) can’t leave him alone I think it’s quite concerning for him 😂

Sunshine8888 · 09/10/2019 16:41

I’m just fed up of having this big secret. I don’t know how anyone sneaks around lying about anything bad - this is a good thing and I’m struggling!! I’m fed up of making excuses to not see people / go to things so I don’t have to explain myself. It just feels like the longest 12 weeks ever

facevalue · 09/10/2019 16:42

@charlieB93 awwww i think that's adorable. i'm feeling completely lonely and not lovable at the mo.

unexplained rage here too. bubbling like a volcano

Sunshine8888 · 09/10/2019 16:42

Ps. Is it safe to tell people at 12 weeks or at the end of 12 weeks? I read the second trimester doesn’t start until week 13 - the thought of another week added on is unbearable!

Sunshine8888 · 09/10/2019 16:43

@facevalue yes same! I feel lonely and isolated!

facevalue · 09/10/2019 16:43

finally got my 12 week scan date friday 1nov 😍 but they also attached the screening tests leaflet😥🤐

helpasisterout · 09/10/2019 16:58

Still plugging away with intermittent nausea here so sympathies with you all in same boat and with those who don't have nausea either as it's a worry either way!

Had my booking appointment Friday past at 6w6d and got to give urine and bloods next Friday 18th and have just received my 12 week scan appointment letter for 13th November where I should be 12w4d... eeek seems so real now just crossing fingers and toes that everything is ok!

Helensss · 09/10/2019 17:03

I still haven’t received my scan date 😢 I don’t know whether to phone or not

@CharlieB93 that’s the thing I’m normally quite needy and need lots of cuddles so I think he’s a bit put out 😂

Helensss · 09/10/2019 17:03

@facevalue screening is hard isn’t it, I have opted in for it but I don’t know what I’ll do if there’s a risk

Bumpingalong84 · 09/10/2019 17:20

Hey ladies.

Sorry for those feeling utterly rough, you have my sympathy.
My nausea comes and goes in waves but that’s all it is a bit of nausea, eating seems to help, so trying to snack but I’m pretty bad at it.

I’ve had a few dizzy spells too, I had it last time so not too worried about it, wonder if it’s the drop in sugar levels.

Got my booking appointment tomorrow, feeling a little anxious about it simply because I’m sure she’ll bring up the missed miscarriage and I am worried about getting emotional in front of a professional. Got my scan date for the 12th November, but have one booked on the 29th I should be 10+2 by then! Feels like it’s ages away x

Tmia123 · 09/10/2019 17:22

Hi girls!
I’m due May 6th. I have had 1 child who is 6 and then a miscarriage last year and now 10weeks pregnant. I have had 5 scans in 10 weeks as I’ve been bleeding pink blood the whole time but baby was healthy by scan and heart beat etc. My last scan was Monday this week. This morning I woke up with stringy brown blood and had on and off brown blood all day and even red! I thought was clot but my midwife says stringy is a little bit more positive. I have scan tomorrow as I’m so scared :( has anyone had this before? I have a panty liner on not a actual pad and it spotting but then I am getting stringy when I go for a wee?

CharlieB93 · 09/10/2019 17:41

Our poor OHs 😂 tbh mines been a saint, he’s got a app on his phone that tells him about pregnancy and he likes to relay things he’s learnt whilst reading it 😂 (not cute... he was telling me I should expect more discharge - tmi thanks OH)
@Bumpingalong84 don’t worry about that - as you say, they’re professionals, there’s nothing you can do/say that they wouldn’t have experienced before xxx

Doodlebug321 · 09/10/2019 17:50

@Tmia123 hope the scan tomorrow is able to put your mind at rest.

@Bumpingalong84 if you cry, you cry. There will be tissues. You won't be the first, or the last to do that and it probably won't even be the last time you cry with your midwife 😀 Your midwife will not think badly of you for it & if they have done their research on your medical hx, they will be fully expecting it.

@ChampooPapi might be blood sugars, BP has dropped a little, but is still well within the normal range and hasn't dropped significantly for me to feel particularly dizzy from it. Might also just be hormones. And, Haha, perhaps I am 😜

Babymumma123 · 09/10/2019 17:52

Yes it will I’m just struggling to understand what’s going on and if anyone has experienced this before with their pregnancy’s?

I had cancer cells in my cervix 3 years ago and had laser treatment on my cervix I have been told that could be cause of the bleeding previously but I’m worried at the brown stringy blood ive had today :(

NiffleTime · 09/10/2019 19:23

@Sunshine8888 have you told anyone at all? We’ve told both sets of parents and siblings, as would want their support if anything wasn’t right anyway, and I’ve had to tell a few friends because I needed to cancel plans (our lovely friendship group has a weekend away with hot tub, wine, and a trip to Alton Towers, lol, that’s not gonna happen now!). I’m still only 8 weeks and just having those few people to moan to is very helpful - is there even one person you can swear to secrecy?

Sunshine8888 · 09/10/2019 19:43

@niffletime I have told my mum and dad and one close friend but she doesn’t live near me. I’m finding it hard at work because I’m full time and we have a small team who knows everyone’s business. I just can’t wait to be able to tell them because I’m finding it difficult to hide! Maybe they suspect anyway! I’m seeing my best friends in two weekends time so I will tell them then if all is well, I should be 12 weeks around that time 🤞🏻

Doodlebug321 · 09/10/2019 19:54

@Babymumma123 how many weeks are you? Brown & stringy can be common around 6wks. Brown = old blood.
re: cervix. Yeah, because of the extra blood volume, fluid, collagen etc. during pregnancy cervical abrasions are very common. If you've had cells removed previously it's likely those areas are a little more likely to bleed slightly during pregnancy. Depending on the level / position of cervical removal they may assess for a wee stitch in the cervix to help support the pregnancy later on, but that may not be necessary if there wasn't a lot of cells removed.

I appreciate it's really difficult when you don't know exactly what's going on. Do you have a scan?
