Hi guys. I'm 10 weeks on friday. Madness how quick the time has flown but jeez this sickness is killing me now. I'm struggling in work each day but I constantly feel woozy and sick and sometimes cant even keep water down.
That's with being on 2 anti sickness meds!

On another note. I wish I knew pregnant people in my real life and not just on the internet :(

sazzlerazzle · 09/10/2019 20:03

@Shak19 oh no, sorry you’re struggling so much! I know it’s not the same but we’re all here to chat to 😊

Shak19 · 09/10/2019 20:10

Thanks! I'm hoping after 12 weeks its better
I'm hoping I meet people local along the way. I'm finding everything so overwhelming atm. Even tho we was trying for so long I'm just still like wtf I'm terrified 😂😂

facevalue · 09/10/2019 20:17

@shak19 oh no you poor thing. hope it settles soon.

i just got my midwife appointment at last next week Wednesday. looking forward to it. will be nice to moan to someone apart from my husband. anyone else's MIL really indifferent about the pregnancy lol unless i'm just imagining it.

@Doodlebug321

Hey darling thank you so much for the reply! I have scan in the morning now my 12 week scan isn’t until 21st of this month but I’m having my cervix checked and having scan!
Im having that ache feeling where feel like I’m coming on my period which I’ve been getting for weeks tbh! I’m exactly 10 weeks.

I just went for a wee and wiped then had nothing not even red where all day I’ve had spotting or tbh a lot of red when I wipe or stringy brown.

They have said I wasn’t sure if I mentioned but they said I may need a stitch for my cervix (if it’s not the right length) as I’ve been bleeding pink this whole pregnancy! Even Monday I had a scan and the baby looks perfect but fingers crossed tomorrow :( I don’t think I’ll sleep as I am so worried

Doodlebug321 · 09/10/2019 20:34

@Babymumma123 I know the general thing is "any bleeding in pregnancy isn't normal", but IMO sometimes, for some people, it's what they do. Sometimes the cause can be seen, maybe there's a SCH. Other times, there's no cause seen & brown blood is put down to old blood leaving the body & fresh may be cervical erosion.

There are a huge number of women turn up in triage with bleeding in pregnancy that turns out to be post-coital. Imagine being the poor midwife/Dr doing a speculum on that woman...& her mortified partner sat there asking if you can see any 'remnants' of their evening escapades 🤣

Really.hope they find the cause and it's nothing worrying & that it all clears up. Hope the scan tomorrow goes well. Try & get some sleep...whatever happens...right now we are pregnant. One day at a time 😁

mrsf1204 · 09/10/2019 20:50

I had to tell a few key people in work this week just because they asked about my time off, and I was getting sick in the one toilet we have! We are a really close team of people though so I'm actually glad they know, it's like a weight off and they have been amazing. Also if something were to go wrong they would need to know anyway, so I feel like it's good to have their support.

I'm getting some really dull aches in my pelvic area now though, dr says it's everything growing but ooo it's annoying. Anyone else? Xx

Helensss · 09/10/2019 21:02

@Babymumma123 good luck tomorrow morning for your scan xxx May well be to do with cervix, I too had cells removed a few years ago and they have put this pregnancy as high risk and to be monitored.
I had pink and brown a few weeks ago and Was told it was probably cervix but they weren’t sure xx

november90 · 09/10/2019 22:23

So after my car crash this morning I rang my doctors who referred me to a and e! I had a 5 hour wait for a 30 second scan but thank goodness my little baby is ok and I saw the heart beating away! What a relief!!!! 💗

facevalue · 09/10/2019 22:30

@november90 awww what a blessing to have seen that x try to rest now .. so sorry about the accident - is your car significantly damaged? do you have a courtesy car?

november90 · 10/10/2019 00:52

@facevalue thank you!!! My car had to get towed away and my hire car is being dropped off tomorrow. As it was the other drivers fault I'm not too stressed about it all as I'm not blaming myself (or anyone, it was an accident and thankfully everyone ok!) and it won't be a value claim on my policy.... my car I'm not sure what they will doo as the boot and back bumper are damaged as well as something below. I just hope they can repair as I love my car!! 💗

firsttimer1980 · 10/10/2019 07:28

@Shak19 have you got the Peanut app? It's quite funny, it's like Tinder, but for finding mummy or mummy-to-be friends in your local area. I totally understand that feeling of wanting a buddy that's going through the same things as me. So perhaps give that a try. I woke up to a few "waves" from mums like me on the app this morning!

Eledamorena · 10/10/2019 07:44

Someone mentioned being interested in how things are in Bangkok... well I'm currently sitting in a very swanky reception of a women's health centre in a fancy hospital. I have repeatedly explained that my insurance does NOT cover anything maternity-related in the hope that they won't try to push too many tests and scans unless necessary!!

Care here tends to be very good but bedside manner can be lacking... I'll let you know after I meet the doc!

(On the bright side, private room pre- and post-delivery, partners can stay over etc etc... that all sounds great!!)

Helensss · 10/10/2019 07:47

@firsttimer1980 that’s quite a nice idea! The only problem is with my area is that everyone seems to know everyone, or do you go anonymous ? X

helpasisterout · 10/10/2019 07:56

What do you guys do if you are sick in the morning after taking your pregnancy vitamin? Time between taking and vomiting about 20 mins. Should I take another or not bother? I'm just taking the NHS ones I got given at booking appointment!

Helensss · 10/10/2019 08:19

@helpasisterout do you manage to keep anything down in the day? Maybe try again later, I do feel for you! I feel really sick a lot but haven’t been sick thankfully.

Taking my first day off work today, I think I deserve it, feel exhausted x

Sunshine8888 · 10/10/2019 08:23

@helpasisterout could you take them right before you go to bed? And hopefully fall asleep before you feel sick! Maybe think about changing your vitamins? Some are more harsh on the stomach than others.

I have a scan tonight. I’m so nervous x

Helensss · 10/10/2019 08:36

@sunshine8888 eeek that’s exciting though, I would be nervous too.
Good luck!

I’m so impatient waiting for my scan date now I wish I’d booked an early one. I had just been referred to recurrent mc team before this pregnancy so I would have thought they’d have offered me one

woollycat · 10/10/2019 08:37

@helpasisterout I take a second dose later in the day if this happens. Mine is just folic acid and vitamin D and I read that you can't easily overdose on those so I think it's better to take a second dose to be safe. Folic acid is really key at this stage of pregnancy.

@Sunshine8888 how exciting! How far along are you? Keep us posted! 😇

Sunshine8888 · 10/10/2019 08:56

Hi @woollycat well this is actually my nhs dating scan because I’m 12 weeks today from LMP but I know from a scan at 9 weeks that actually I’m measuring behind by a week or so! So I’m not totally sure what will happen today or whether it’ll be too early for them to do what they need to. As long as baby is healthy though that is all that matters and if I have to go back in a week or two that’s fine! 🤞🏻

woollycat · 10/10/2019 09:05

@Sunshine8888 I am in a similar boat, based on an early scan I am about 10 days later than LMP (I knew this anyway because I had tracked my ovulation). I don't have my 12w scan booked yet but I am guessing they will book it based on LMP.

Fingers crossed for you, how exciting you have made it to the 12w mark! It feels like a lifetime away to me still - I am 7w 4d (based on early scan, not LMP)

CharlieB93 · 10/10/2019 09:09

Ouch!

Did someone mention something about sneezing and pulling their stomach?
Happened to me twice - once last night in bed and once this morning driving! It really hurt!

Sunshine8888 · 10/10/2019 09:13

@woollycat unless I have caught up a bit I am also about 10 days behind I think so more like 10+4 (3 weeks ahead of you)! It would be fab if I could be moved forward a bit because being put back ten days feels like a lifetime but main thing is that baby is ok! I have no reason to think it’s not but still feeling anxious based on others experiences of mmc 😥

Caspianberg · 10/10/2019 09:24

Mine has been moved forward date wise twice.

Scan yesterday should have been at 10+2, but it was moved to 10+6. So 11 weeks today based on that.

november90 · 10/10/2019 09:30

@helpasisterout I've started having mine just before I go to bed as I found they were making me feel abit off! You could try a different brand as they are known to upset people's tummy on there own. If you really struggle perhaps just take the folic acid as that's the most important at this stage xx
