A shiny new thread for our May mum's.

A big thank you to @Shak19 for setting up the original thread, you started this group and we are all so grateful for that.

@Wishful30 oooh it didn’t even cross my mind! Typical yet another reason to be stabbed with needles I guess 😂

Bumpingalong84 · 07/10/2019 20:20

Aww lovely bump @Moonstone12 is this your first? My bump is slowly growing, I had my DD 4yrs again and had a mmc in May at 12wks and had a good bump by then, now 7+1 and it’s growing again 🙈 anxious about how big I may get early on but I’ve heard it does slow down.

@GinUnicorn it’s funny with my girl I constantly thought I was having a boy and wanted one then at my 20wk scan when they said it was a girl I just sobbed with happiness cos actually it didn’t matter I was just so happy. This time of it works out I’m convinced it’s a boy as my nausea is not as bad but who knows 🤷🏻‍♀️ Again I’d be happy with either.

november90 · 07/10/2019 20:20

Oh my word... feeling a bit rough but know I need to eat something so I just randomly made some jam on toast with butter and it's blown my mind!!!! WOW!!!! Morrinsons own brand, thick cut bread..... 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍💗💗💗💗💗

GinUnicorn · 07/10/2019 20:21

Oh yes happy either way. With my first I was convinced she was a girl too. 50:50 chance of being right!

Moonstone12 · 07/10/2019 20:31

@Bumpingalong84 this is my 4th! I have 2 girls and 1 boy. But there will be 8 yrs between my youngest and this one and it feels all new again lol.
My eldest will be 16 when this one is due (his/her due date is actually her birthday but I haven't told her that as I'm in fear of her murdering me 😂😂😂)

Bumpingalong84 · 07/10/2019 20:37

Haha @Moonstone12 that made me chuckle. There is 17yrs between my DH and his sister and they get on really well, my sister in law also has 4 and had an 8 yr age gap between her girl and now little boy, the kids adore him.

My DD will be 4.5 when this one comes along, so she’ll really be able to remember it I hope.

I know @GinUnicorn doesn’t really matter I’ll be happy either way. It’s just fun playing the guessing game. My husband got it right last time and he thinks girl again so wonder if he’s right! Time will tell (hopefully)

Bumpingalong84 · 07/10/2019 20:38

Haha @november90 the things that make us happy in pregnancy 😂 I love jam on toast, and on thick cut bread well you can’t top that 🤤

facevalue · 08/10/2019 00:52

anyone randomly craving fruit and yogurt - just had mango / melon then a pot of greek yogurt and really enjoyed it.

Morning Ladies!

There are so many posts and the thread moves so fast it's hard to keep up read them all. I'm sorry to those who are having a rough time of it.

I've not posted since early on in the previous May 2020 chat, due to horrendous nausea & sickness for the past 4 weeks. Week 6-9 1/2 was horrendous, I've never felt so rough. I was going to make an appt for docs this week but it finally feels like it's subsiding 🤞🏼 I've literally left the house a handful of times in the past month! I've been completely off my food as well as fluids. Living off mostly bread!

I am now 10 weeks today and have my scan on 21st October. I've actually felt like eating the past few days which is amazing! (Apart from the burping, which is crazy especially after dinner, anyone else?).

Anyway sorry for the long post and I'll try keep up now Smile

firsttimer1980 · 08/10/2019 07:02

@helpasisterout I am totally with you about only eating crap. I went and bought a whole load of healthy snacks, so I didn't succumb to sweets and biscuits in the office. But no, the healthy snacks are all unopened and had a good helping of white chocolate cookies and Colin the caterpillar gummies yesterday. I have an unbelievable sweet tooth at the moment! It's starting to worry me, but it's all I want to eat. I am so obsessed with jelly right now as well ha!

ChampooPapi · 08/10/2019 07:10

@kstann hey , good to hear from you Smile

Morning all. My sickness seems to get worse of a late afternoon but it's with me as a constant from when I wake to when I go to sleep. Going to go get some cuppa soups today to try and get my fluids up. Still cannot stomach any drink I have found :(

Clairesoph · 08/10/2019 07:13

@firsttimer1980 well done for trying though on the snack front!!! I will only eat it if its a carb or covered in cheese or its something chocolate 😂 I woke at 5 am feeling deadly and made myself two slices of thick white bread with butter and it hit the sickness on the head! Any kind of yogurt/porridge/slop texture makes me gag so hopefully once Im past 12 weeks this will all pass and I can eat some better food 😖 Im so bloated too which makes me feel like im gaining alot of weight aaah

woollycat · 08/10/2019 08:11

@kstann good to hear it's getting better since 9 1/2. I am in week 7 and 2nd week now that I am mostly in bed because of nausea. I am really frustrated with this as I am a fit person who does lots of exercise and eats well normally, so it feels unfair that this is happening to me. Of course I realize that is not how this works but it's difficult seeing other people breeze through it!

facevalue · 08/10/2019 08:22

@kstann hi . i discovered yogurt so i had no heartburn last night so slept better. i definitely get the gassy burps and bloating- it's crazy after eating anything.
i think my hubby is exhausted as he's currently getting my DD ready everymorning and i'm sure he thinks i'm taking the piss😢 it's this stupid useless nauseous woman that can't get her act together🤪

Bumpingalong84 · 08/10/2019 08:46

@Raindancer411 ohh bless you. Have you tried jelly or fruit? Easy peelers are always great and full of fluids.

CharlieB93 · 08/10/2019 08:47

Bit personal but how much weight has everyone put on?? I’ve put on 5 pounds 😱 i normally struggle to put on weight so this has really shocked me!

Wishful30 · 08/10/2019 08:57

I got up 4 times last night... to pee 🤦🏻‍♀️🙄
The last 2 days I've had a 2 hour nap in the afternoon. I'm soooo tired!
I'm just starting my 40hr week today. Not quite sure how I'm gonna cope, but I guess I need to be thankful I've not got the sickness hormone yet 🤞🏻

Moonstone12 · 08/10/2019 08:59

@CharlieB93 I've also put on 5lbs. I'm trying to not get to hung up on weight gain and deal with it afterwards. Last pregnancy I gained over 3 stone! But my boy was also 10lb 4oz so he was a lot of that lol.
I'm eating crap at the moment and lying down 24/7 so I'm not sick but I know I'll be feeling better in a few weeks and I'm going to start yoga or Pilates and go for walks everyday to try and stay fit.

GinUnicorn · 08/10/2019 09:00

@CharlieB93 I’ve lost 6lbs.

I hate this sickness I am trying to eat little and often now on the hope it helps.

GinUnicorn · 08/10/2019 09:01

I’d much rather be gaining. Keep getting emotional about starving the baby. Sad

CharlieB93 · 08/10/2019 09:12

@Moonstone12 that makes me feel a bit better! I don't feel any bigger but the scales say otherwise haha!
@ginunicorn don't worry about that, i've read the baby will literally take every nutrient from you so don't worry. Make sure you see your GP if you are worried though x

Moonstone12 · 08/10/2019 09:22

@GinUnicorn please don't worry. With my first baby (no antisickness meds') I lost a stone in the first trimester (imagine how skinny I was - 6ft and went down to 9 stone!) however I had an incredibly healthy 7lb 7oz DD who will be 16 on spuds due date!
Baby will take everything from you and just leave you feeling bloody awful xx

Ps - I dream of the days of being 10/11 stone 😂😂😂 one day, after this one..... maybe 😂😂😂

woollycat · 08/10/2019 09:26

I have lost 5lb-s in just 2 weeks 😱

ChampooPapi · 08/10/2019 09:30

@Moonstone12 agreed, this is great advice and absolutely true of how the baby develops. @GinUnicorn it's such a crappy time the first trimester, you will get through it to happier, healthier times by the second and you will make up for all the food you haven't eaten trust me Smile
