A shiny new thread for our May mum's.

A big thank you to @Shak19 for setting up the original thread, you started this group and we are all so grateful for that.

Here we go, month three in the pregnancy journey 👣

@Moonstone12 wow 😲😂

So I've realised I feel nauseous when I'm even just a tiny bit hungry. So eating helps 🙄🤦🏻‍♀️
I'm struggling with what to eat, as I suffer with IBD so can't eat salad, don't really like fruit anyway and have to keep to a low fibre diet. So small amounts of veg.
I'm going to be huge and I won't even be able to blame the baby 😑

Wishful30 · 07/10/2019 12:43

@Sunshine8888 soooo thirsty all the time!!!

Clairesoph · 07/10/2019 12:51

Feeling you on the thirsty front, I cannot drink enough! Also the things I would do for a double decker 🤤 Im trying to reign it in cos the caffeine situation but my godddddd

Wishful30 · 07/10/2019 13:03

Just been to Morrison's and came out soooo sad coz the rotisserie chickens were gonna be a good Half hour. I reeeeeeally want one 😂

sazzlerazzle · 07/10/2019 13:35

@facevalue oh no I wasn’t trying to suggest morning sickness is a myth! I know a lot of you ladies are really struggling with it :(

Just that you don’t read many things that say “ you might experience all of this but it’s completely normal to not experience any of it too” and I know from my circle of friends that they had mild symptoms too and went on to have gorgeous healthy babies 😊

Sunshine8888 · 07/10/2019 13:47

@Wishful30 yes you have exact same issues as me, can’t let myself get even a tiny bit hungry or I feel awful! I have a whole supply of snacks at work, it looks like a tuck shop 🤣
@Moonstone12 I am looking similar in the 10th week, my work trousers are so tight. Also I just went and bought a bra with no underwire, my boobs are constantly sore and in the evenings they seem to be worse!

Helensss · 07/10/2019 14:04

@sunshine8888 I desperately need a new bra,
One of my colleague commented on the size of my boobs as well but I laughed it off. Scared to buy one until my scan though! They almost feel as though they don’t need as much support as they seem to be just sitting where they should which they definitely don’t normally! 😂 I’m sure not for long!!! Xx

Wishful30 · 07/10/2019 15:23

@sazzlerazzle good to hear, as apart from feeling really tired half way through the day, and the odd boob pain, I don't really have any symptoms. But I'm only 6+2 so there's plenty of time 😂

Helensss · 07/10/2019 15:50

My husband just sent me this 😂😂

I’ve had my first midwife appointment today, I’ve been told I’ll have to have an appointment with a specialist obstetrician because of immune system problems. She said it puts me at higher risk of pre eclampsia and I may need to take aspirin (?) every day 🤔 I’m not sure how I’m going to lie to work about having more medical appointments as I always schedule mine around work 🤦‍♀️ Anyone else under a specialist?

Sunshine8888 · 07/10/2019 16:37

@Helensss I was going to wait but there was a sale in HoF and I just thought I’d get one for now. I was already a DD when I wasn’t pregnant so god knows what I’ll end up 🙈 and I was fairly slim with no stomach so the bump now seems really obvious 😬

Sunshine8888 · 07/10/2019 16:38

Hahahah i love that Double D has come out as darling daughter, I mean I’m one of those too I’m sure my mum would agree 😂😉but definitely meant bra size!

Raindancer411 · 07/10/2019 17:12

Anyone else finding food doesn't taste the same as before? Everything has a funny taste to me

Helensss · 07/10/2019 17:14

@Sunshine8888 Im a double D too (not sure what now!) and a size 8 so I feel like it’s going to be super obvious!

Sunshine8888 · 07/10/2019 17:19

@helensss yes same uk size 8... although things are starting to get a bit snug now 😂

Wishful30 · 07/10/2019 18:20

@CharlieB93 I have an autoimmune condition too. Not got my booking appt for 2weeks yet tho.
She did say to me in the phone that they would discuss everything and see if I can be followed by the midwife or whether I'd need to see a doctor for everything 🙄

helpasisterout · 07/10/2019 18:20

Anyone else feeling guilty that they can only eat crap to ease the sickness? I'm usually a strict slimming world member and love it but the thought of fish, salad oh and actually cooking a meal right now is making me heave but now I feel so guilty that I will pack on the lbs 🙁

May2311 · 07/10/2019 18:32

Hi everyone!

I am 10 + 2 today and fingers crossed sickness has eased over the last few days. It’s just the exhaustion that is killing me! I am lucky that if I want I can work from home but today and tomorrow I need to be in the office which obviously means I woke up this morning feeling like death again!!

One thing that was recommended to me to drink for those of you who are struggling - ginger ale. Doesn’t make me feel wonderful but at least keeps the sickness at bay.

Hope everyone else got through Monday ok! Xxx

GinUnicorn · 07/10/2019 18:35

I would take a bath in ginger ale if it helped! Sickness is a nightmare and I can only seem to stomach bread.

GinUnicorn · 07/10/2019 18:36

Is anyone else losing weight? I’m getting worried about the baby getting enough nutrients but I can’t manage to eat much st all.

Bumpingalong84 · 07/10/2019 19:14

Hi @ GinUnicorn I wouldn’t worry too much, baby will get what it needs. With DD I lost lots of weight, about 5kg in the first trimester and went from a 12 to a 8-10. I didn’t vomit once but felt so green and had so many aversions and barely ate! She came 3.5weeks early and weighed 7lb3 🙈 so she was fine haha.

It’s so odd not having as bad nausea this time round. I’ve had friends who literally had zero symptoms and I was always jealous, now I’m anxious because I want to feel more sick ha! Tho if all is good I’ll be grateful Smile

Doodlebug321 · 07/10/2019 19:22

Ginger ale just made me feel worse because it's fizzy.

Sainsbury's do an American style flat lemonade juice drink. That's what I'm managing to stomach in small quantities at the minute. It's more like bitter lemon, with a touch of sweetness.

ChampooPapi · 07/10/2019 19:30

I'm in bed , it's my happy place ladies. Today was brutal, why God why I felt like shouting. Was in such a self indulgent mood today, will pull myself together for tomorrow and remind myself that some women have this for the full 40 weeks, worst then this no doubt.

I just thought I was on the up

@Bumpingalong84 thanks. That’s a relief to hear. I feel so guilty that I might be starving her (irrationally I keep referring to baby as her which is odd as I initially wanted a boy)

zoemelb · 07/10/2019 19:49

I have an ok day today, morning is still dying, but isn't as bad as before (can get out of bed without too much struggling). Went back to work after 4 days wfh last week, and stayed until 5pm (I wouldn't last until 4pm the week before). Rest at home for half hour then cooked very simple dinner. Hope will get better everyday, I'm 8+5 today.
