A shiny new thread for our May mum's.

A big thank you to @Shak19 for setting up the original thread, you started this group and we are all so grateful for that.

Here we go, month three in the pregnancy journey 👣

This group is definitely a life saver!
As much as I can now talk to my husband, all he can do is google stuff lol
Much easier to speak with people in the same situation who may have the same symptoms.
So backward that I was smiling away whilst trying to to throw up 😂

Bumpingalong84 · 05/10/2019 10:42

Morning ladies. Also feeling rough over here today. DH has taken daughter to ballet. And I’m trying to rest cos even tho I got to bed at 9 last night and didn’t get up till 7 and DD not till 8. I still feel exhausted and could close my eyes and go back to sleep 😴

Still feeling icky but still not as bad as nausea with DD it’s the kind of icky where eating helps. Makes me wonder if it’s a boy 😂

facevalue · 05/10/2019 10:42

Thanks to whoever it was who was going on about runny egg ... that sounded amazing i had 2 fried eggs with runny yolks 😍... obviously as usual now i feel nauseous again - i'm in bed to nap before we need to get ready to visit in laws 😴😴😴

have a great weekend all - anyone doing anything interesting ?

Wishful30 · 05/10/2019 11:20

@facevalue 🙋🏻‍♀️guilty 😂😂😂

CharlieB93 · 05/10/2019 11:21

Must be something in the water! Feel like I’ve got the worst hangover in the world today 🤢😭

Sunshine8888 · 05/10/2019 11:22

I have been eating most things but gone off most meats, I can eat a bit but i find myself choosing other options where I can! Also can’t stand salads which isn’t heathy! I ended up sleeping until 11am this morning, the tiredness really is at its peak atm! DH is away this weekend so I’m just taking it easy. Ten weeks tomorrow so slowly getting there 😀

Wishful30 · 05/10/2019 11:23

I went to bed about 9:30 last night, and woke up, I dunno, around 4am I think. Struggled to get back to sleep, and then dh was up at 6:30am 😑
I'm just looking up some recipes for my new tagine, but then I think I need a nap lol

Had a chat with a midwife, she's not too worried about the discharge, so long as it's not red, and the cramps aren't bad enough to take meds again.
Got my booking appointment on the 21st 😬

sazzlerazzle · 05/10/2019 11:50

Is anyone reading any good pregnancy/birth books? There are so many to choose from!!

Lifesforlivingandloving · 05/10/2019 11:58

My nausea eased off a bit for 2-3 days
Now today I feel horrible 🤢 I've eaten ginger nuts and crisps for breakfast as it's all I can stand the thought of

We're out for dinner tonight too with friends at a Chinese restaurant and right now I can't think of anything worse

Currently laying in bed trying to muster the energy to walk the dog in the hope the air will make me feel better

I was worried as the nausea calmed down but now it's defo back- I'm happy at the same time as feeling like s**t 😂 x
Have a good day all x

Eemamc · 05/10/2019 14:43

Hi, this is my first post. i’m 7 weeks tomorrow. I have a 23 month old and had a MMC in July at 10 weeks. Baby stopped developing at 7 weeks. Eager to get to 8 weeks and get a private scan, so I can feel and enjoy being pregnant. Feel like i’m a bit in limbo this time round. Trying to hold myself back in case there is no heartbeat when we get the scan.
Has anyone set up an bf group for the May babies? I found mine super useful with my first pregnancy

Eemamc · 05/10/2019 14:52

I of course mean a fb group rather than a Breastfeeding group!

zoemelb · 05/10/2019 15:31

@Mystie so sorry you have to go through it. xx Thinking of you

zoemelb · 05/10/2019 15:36

@Lifesforlivingandloving my nausea comes and go too, within a day. But my cramps definitely improved a lot. I'm 9 week today (according to NHS, but should be 8+3 according to early scan). Can eat fruit today, so that's an improvement. So sick of rice, and white bread. Last week I love chicken, this week can't stand anything with chicken. planning for food is extremely difficult at the moment.

Lifesforlivingandloving · 05/10/2019 15:58

@zoemelb

I'm 10+1 according to LMP but think I'm more like 9 weeks
I'm the exact same when it comes to planning
Before becoming pregnant I was on slimming world so am so used to planning all my meals
Now I have to have back up stuff in the freezer
I cooked a lovely curry in the slow cooker the other day ... when it came to eating it was a massive no no and I had pizza from the freezer
Hoping to get back to slimming world when the nausea passes - not to lose weight but to stay within a reasonable size and not balloon all over lol

The other week I loved strong cheddar with everything , now the thought of uncooked cheese makes me heave
Our bodies are funny things x

Clairesoph · 05/10/2019 17:20

I feel like Ive won the lottery two days in a row! Yesterday I took my little one to a new group and he slept from 12.30-4 so Mummy got to sleep 1-3 and today My Sister offered to take him for a walk whilst I had a nap and he fell asleep so I got another hour in 😭😭😭😭 so many happy tears, by 3pm ive felt like a train wreck each day Im exhausted!

Shak19 · 05/10/2019 20:05

@Eemamc yes there is a group on fb for may babies xx

ChampooPapi · 05/10/2019 20:22

@Clairesoph I hear you, the body needs to rest and flop on all soft furnishings. I've been useless today and sloth like, bedtime now, bliss

@Mystie just read your news, really sad update, just so sorry for you. Take care of yourself

Eemamc · 05/10/2019 20:36

@mystie i’m So sorry to hear your news. The only thing I can say is it gets less painful over time. I found that it helps to talk about it. You’ll be surprised how many people go through it. There are so many lovely ladies that shared with me after I lost my last pregnancy. Sending hugs x

Eemamc · 05/10/2019 20:37

Does anyone have a link to the fb group, or the exact name so I can search for it? Thanks again!

facevalue · 05/10/2019 22:21

rough day today. i was excited as MIL made my favourite home made lasagne ( one veggie, one meat) .. i made a mistake of eating garlic bread as a starter and i was so nauseous / hot and cold i was convinced today is the day i vomit ( 8 weeks today) but held it in. could not sit on the dinner table and didn't eat the food that requested and was made for me. now i HATE GARLIC - i usually love it😑🤢🤮🤮 so fed up

when do the symptoms ease? i feel so yucky and i have a toddler to look after and a job to do

how r u ladies just cope?

Lifesforlivingandloving · 06/10/2019 00:20

@Eemamc
It's called may time
X

zoemelb · 06/10/2019 07:36

@Lifesforlivingandloving : our body is doing strange thing indeed. I keep on telling my husband everyone is talking about giving birth, but not many people talking about morning sickness in 1st trimester so it is very unexpected for me to feel this much miserable and anxious the last 2 months.
@Clairesoph : I wouldn't know what to do if I have a toddler to take care as well. Have 2 dogs, but my husband has done a brilliant job taking care of them for the past 2 months.
Just hope today will be a good day - no bleeding, less nausea and tiredness, and feeling down.
Does anyone feel either freezing or hot during the day? I keep on thinking I have a cold, and check my temperature.
Also trying to google and search that you will get better in 2nd trimester, that's all I want to hear now. Have my private scan book in on Tuesday, looking forward to it.

NiffleTime · 06/10/2019 07:49

@zoemelb I totally agree - most of what you see in the media is very lighthearted about morning sickness, just women going about their daily business when oops,
they’re sick once, guess they’re pregnant. I feel so awful, nausea and stomach ache and bone-tiredness, and I wasn’t expecting this at all! I don’t know how I’d cope with a full-time job (I freelance remotely) and I definitely don’t know how I’d cope with a small child! Yes also to random bouts of being freezing...
