Thanks @Jesskir89 - they reckon my DH and I enjoyed ourselves in the bedroom slightly too much the day before Blush awkward...

Jesskir89 · 30/11/2019 16:34

@dinosauraddict haha bet you were 'relieved'.... Grin

whiskersonkittenss · 02/12/2019 22:59

Hows everyone doing?
I'm 26+5 now and have my GTT tomorrow morning. Really not looking forward to it as I already can't get comfy, and the seats at the health centre are awful.

Dinosauraddict · 03/12/2019 03:46

@whiskersonkittenss can you let us know how it goes please? Have mine booked for the 18th and utterly dreading it!! Good luck with it, will be thinking of you.

whiskersonkittenss · 03/12/2019 11:50

They cancelled on me as I took heartburn medication even though they said it was ok when I asked about medications previously 🙄
Waiting on midwife to call me and re book
I think the test in itself is fine, it's just boring and the waiting around is the worst bit. Take someone with you for company or download things on Netflix /i player Grin

maria94 · 03/12/2019 19:56

how are you getting on @barnyb ? Can you believe we've hit our 3rd trimester.. 😳 Have you thought of any names for baby girl yet?

barnyb · 03/12/2019 20:14

@maria94 hello! Oh my goodness my belly is really popping out now! :) how are you? Iv been seeing my belly do some funny shapes and waves in the evenings :) what about you? I had a really bad week at 25 weeks I was so tired and so drained constantly and very ratty! The last few days iv had so much energy it’s insane !! But not complaining:) what’s happening with you??
Yes we have some ideas but going to decided when we see her little face :)
Have you got any names? X

maria94 · 03/12/2019 20:47

@barnyb same here, got a definite bump now! I love watching her move around though, such a lovely feeling 🥰 Aw glad you're feeling better now! I've been feeling exhausted and my heartburn is awful!!! We have a name but same as you, we want to wait until she is here. Have you got most of the things you need yet? How was your 25 week appointment? X

barnyb · 03/12/2019 21:25

What 25 week appointment? With the midwife? Or scan.? I have a midwife appointment this Thursday. 🤔
Aww lovely yes also I don’t want to start mentioning names to friends and family and then someone say something which will put us off.
sorry your really exhausted! Hopefully you get a good couple days like iv had this week so far! How are your emotions? Iv been so up and down and unfortunately iv been having a real moans at my husband who is actually really amazing but I will just blow up about such a wily thing. But that the time it seems really serious to me! 😬🙃🤦🏻‍♀️
oh wow iv not had any heart burn yet! Iv been really lucky with that so far! but I’m sure it will happen at some point soon! My mum said it’s when everything moves up and it puts pressure on your chest or something? But I’m carrying really low still because Iv got a long torso I think! Maybe that’s why I haven’t had any heartburn yet? Who knows ! I certainly don’t !! ☺️☺️
Xxxx

Jesskir89 · 05/12/2019 16:47

Hi ladies, how is everyone? @barnyb you should have a 25 week midwife appointment I've got mine on Monday. We've booked a 4d scan for next week at 26 weeks so can't wait to see what my little man looks like. Anyone got any bump pics to share?

Jesskir89 · 05/12/2019 16:50

Here's mine almost 25 weeks :)

Hello! Yes I had midwife today! 27 + 4 today.
Had some glucose in urine so have to go have all the glucose tests on Monday! Sounds like the biggest faff of a morning ! it takes hours apparently! And I can’t eat for 12 hours before! And during the tests ! I’m going to be really hungry and 🤢
had anyone here had this before?
I’m hoping it was because I had not long had breakfast before I did the urine and I had fruit.
eeeek!
Have another midwife booked for 31 weeks and then a scan to check my placenta at 32 weeks. xxxx hope everyone is ok :)

barnyb · 05/12/2019 17:27

Also @Jesskir89 ! Lovely bump! :) I haven’t got any pics since a few weeks ago but I will take one tomorrow and post :) It’s getting pretty big! Had my belly measured today and M.W said all seems great xxx

ineedanotherholiday · 05/12/2019 17:34

Ladies the gtt test is it standard or if they find glucose in your water?
I had my 24 week appointment this week, water was fine.
Nothing was mentioned about that test and I'm not seen again now until 28 weeks. I know you're supposed to have it between 24-28 aren't you?

Jesskir89 · 05/12/2019 17:56

I'm having the gtt test on the 19th because I'm high risk also my bmi is a little higher. @barnyb thank you :) it's good to not just look fat anymore haha

Dinosauraddict · 05/12/2019 18:30

@barnyb and @Jesskir89 my glucose test is booked for the 18th and I'm dreading it - so worried I will have GD as apparently a big risk factor is being on metformin for PCOS (which I still am due to the infertility), I also have a higher BMI and am dreading them telling me I can't have anything sweet as with HG I'm just eating whatever I can stomach Confused I had a 4d scan yesterday and it was absolutely wonderful - he has my nose!! Grin

Dinosauraddict · 05/12/2019 18:31

@ineedanotherholiday it's not standard - only if they find glucose in urine or if you meet one of a set number of risk factors

barnyb · 05/12/2019 18:45

Hey guys! I’m actually really glad some of you guys are having this test too! As selfish as that sounded! Thank you for telling me !
Also i said to my midwife should I stop the sweet stuff? And she said actually it’s mostly nothing to do with sweet stuff. It’s a lot to do with starchy crap carbs a lot of the time. So that’s good news eh? ! 🤩 also I’ve been really healthy since my sickness has stopped but all my cravings are for sweet stuff! It’s my kryptonite😬😬😬😬😍 but I only have one treat a day so it can’t be because Iv been having too much sugar that’s for sure! If anything iv been having too much veg! Also she said it literally can be the change in hormones that cause it especially if you have no reason for it like meds, weight or family history. Xxxxxx hope that helps somewhat. But also I have no idea what It’s all means either! Hopefully we all are free of it x

Jesskir89 · 05/12/2019 19:22

@dinosauraddict I was also on metformin for pcos when I was on chlomid and before but when I fell pregnant they told me I don't need it..... What's HG? @barnyb that's good to hear :) I've already been diagnosed with group b strep so hope nothing else comes back. I've been trying to watch what I eat mostly but I have now gained 11lb. @dinosauraddict that's lovely he's got your nose and you could see that on the scan I can't wait to see my boy though I'm hoping he doesn't have my nose haha

barnyb · 05/12/2019 19:30

Don’t worry about your weight gain that’s a very healthy gain from what iv read. I have only weighed myself once since iv been pregnant and that was about 3 weeks ago and I’d put on 9lb. Don’t forget baby weighs about 2lb now and placenta is 1lb right? and then add on the extra fluid to that! So your gain is hardly nothing at all. !
Iv been reading so much about people saying when baby has hiccups it’s really cute to see! But how do you know they have hiccups? I’m really confused about that one 🤔🤔

Jesskir89 · 05/12/2019 20:05

Thanks @barnyb that's made me feel a bit better. Plus waters, uterus and extra blood too I guess. I've not seen any movement just felt it but I've got an anterior placentor I hope I get to see things soon it sounds amazing x

Dinosauraddict · 06/12/2019 07:51

@Jesskir89 HG = hyperemesis gravidarium - basically extreme morning sickness. At 26 weeks I'm still having to take 5 antisickness tablets every day to stop me projectile vomiting, and my food options are incredibly restricted, hence I'm so worried about being told I have GD. Confused I asked GP about coming off metformin when pregnant, but first of all he was very cautious and said best to stay on in case I lost baby and wanted to try again. And then said best to stay on so I didn't shock system by coming off as I have been very poorly throughout pregnancy.

Jesskir89 · 06/12/2019 12:23

@dinosauraddict thank you not very sure on abbreviations and I would rather have stayed on them I wonder why they told me no....

Dinosauraddict · 06/12/2019 13:46

To be fair @Jesskir89 if you've had a fairly smooth pregnancy, I can see why you'd come off them. It feels a little daft that I'm taking infertility meds whilst walking round with a huge bump! Grin Although if you wanted more than one DC then would prob be better to stay off them rather than getting your body used to them again and needing them to rebuild up in your system? Not that this is an issue I'm predicting. I'm eternally grateful for 1 DC!

Jesskir89 · 06/12/2019 17:11

@dinosauraddict absolutely and would love another but feel blessed to be having this one after what we've been through to get here. Sorry you're still struggling with sickness I'm sure the gtt will be fine x
