sorry that you had a bad experience last time. Have you had a debrief/counselling about it? Something the hospital can offer. Often things flare up again in the next pregnancy. Unfortunately with a previous CS you will require continuous monitoring during labour, due to the risk of uterine rupture (about 1-2%). You can refuse it but its generally against policy and you'll have a bit of a fight of your hands. However, just because you are on Dr led unit with a CTG does not mean you can't birth the way you want. Ask about wireless monitoring, get the mw to dim the lights, take your own music, take aromatherapy oils, anything to make you feel calm and relaxed. Your own pillows etc. Visit the unit if you can. Stay active in labour, you can be monitored kneeling, standing etc. Lots of options so don't dispair

@threegreensheep I see it I copied it so I can reply properly :) xx Thank you, No I didn't really think at the time I suffered with depression so my coping mechanism was just to block it out and try get over it myself. I don't think I can fight the hospital anymore, my Dr is lovely but she can't influence it and I don't want to be a nuisance in pushing it, I understand why I guess I'm just a bit disappointed.

I didn't know about the wireless monitoring so Ill ask near the time and the Dr said I could potentially go in the pool (if I'm not induced ect) and I go naturally so fx, I love my baths. I'm going to try do what I can to make it more relaxing for me and the pillow is a good idea, Ive got a humidifier too :). Its good to know I can still be mobile too, I really wanted to move around I'm quite a strong stubborn person, I'd keep going as long as I can lol. Your baby, your birth by Hollie de Cruz has really helped me over the anxiety but I still just have this nervousness with needles ect xx

Thanks for the new thread @Keyboard91; this moves so fast!

We should be getting the NIPT results tomorrow or Monday. I’m so scared. I was so disheartened when we got the combined screening back (1:2059 for D and 1:12,312 for the others). I know I’m 34 but I see pretty much everyone on here being 1:10,000 or higher so it’s really bothering me.

I can’t remember who asked but I’m 14+5 and I’ve felt movement twice; I’ve felt like a light scratch on the inside and once felt like a bubble popping.

@Yvonne1988 - you’ve got a great bump!

Hi everyone

Had my dating scan on Tuesday going by my dates I was 13 weeks however my dating scan revealed that I was measuring one week ahead putting me at 14 weeks and giving me a new due date of 26th March!

Good luck to everyone here

Yvonne1988 · 26/09/2019 11:38

@ELW85 thanks I'm just being silly and self conscious. Spent lots of years trying to look good lol

Cariad80 · 26/09/2019 12:10

@Dinosauraddict congratulations on having a boy!!

I'm expecting my 1st on the 15th March and will be 39! Gender scan is on the 28th October!

Cariad80 · 26/09/2019 12:14

Oh and I had my results on the downs screening 1 in 1350 chance and 1 in 60000 in the other... I was initially worried as had seen others result and with my age but my midwife put me at ease...!!

emmaclare83 · 26/09/2019 12:49

Hi again ladies. I'm 14+6. Felt a bit of movement, but could well have been gas. Confused

Yvonne1988 · 26/09/2019 12:49

Quite a few cramps today. They annoy me.

emmaclare83 · 26/09/2019 12:54

@ELW85 My Downs screening came back at 1:407 - I thought that was pretty good till I came on here and saw thousands! Now I'm panicking whenever I think of it. But my letter still says lower risk so I'm trying to remind myself that even 1:407 is a low percentage and yours is even lower. Sending thoughts though - I am incredibly anxious despite my bravado. Sad

ELW85 · 26/09/2019 13:15

@emmaclare83 - I feel exactly the same! Seeing everyone else’s results isn’t putting me in a good mind space!
Have you thought about the NIPT?

DerbyshireGirly · 26/09/2019 13:15

@Yvonne1988 I'm really crampy/stretchy too. Keep "oohing" and "aahing" like an old woman as I get up from my chair at work.

kelsnyp · 26/09/2019 13:18

I'm 14+6 I've had 3 miscarriages and 1 eptopic pregnancy I'm 37 so this is really my last chance to be a mum so far so good though trying to stay positive 😁

Yvonne1988 · 26/09/2019 13:31

@derbyshiregirly aw yes thank god im not the only one. Every time I get off the sofa I make a noise 😂

Frillyfarmer · 26/09/2019 14:24

Hello! I'm 17+6 with number 2 and we're having a girl 💖 starting to feel more movements now and my nipples have formed the most bizarre shape this week 😩

latkins70 · 26/09/2019 14:31

Hello ladies!

I'm currently 15+2 with my first baby and I'm still completely exhausted so wondering when the 2nd trimester energy will kick in.....fingers crossed it happens soon!

whiskersonkittenss · 26/09/2019 14:34

latkins70 · 26/09/2019 14:38

@whiskersonkittenss Oh no! Don't say that!! Lol

Jesskir89 · 26/09/2019 14:39

Afternoon ladies. I'm off work today sick full of a flu which I never get. I think my immune system must be running low! Just an FYI the mamas and papas outlet online have a huge sale on and apparently the factory is even better for any northerners

whiskersonkittenss · 26/09/2019 15:50

thanks for the heads up, I just bought this www.mamasandpapas.com/en-gb/rocking-crib-ivory/p/crro03300

i hope you feel better. have you had your flu jab yet? my GP surgery said phone at the end of the month for appointments, that's when they have delivery of the vaccinations for pregnant women @Jesskir89

DaniX91 · 26/09/2019 17:22

Another new thread, wow! I'll be 16 weeks tomorrow, due 13th March. We had our 16 week midwife appointment this morning, we were told at the last appointment that we'd hear the heartbeat today then when we got there she said it's too early. I was very annoyed! I said I wouldn't book another private scan as my nhs one is 3 weeks tomorrow but with not hearing the heartbeat, my mind hasn't been put at ease so I've booked one for Sunday 🙈. We'll find out the gender then too!

ineedanotherholiday · 26/09/2019 17:22

Hi everyone,

I was brought forward at my dating scan, now due March 26th same as you @Keyboard91 Smile although I'm 14 weeks today going by my scan, odd!

Can't believe the second trimester is here! Feel like March will be here before we know it! X

SweetChillis · 26/09/2019 18:10

@DaniX91 I had my 16 week appointment today too, my midwife offered to do heartbeat and found it no problem. I'm surprised she said it's too early as a lot of my friends also heard theirs at 16 weeks. I guess it differs from practice to practice. Sorry you didn't get to hear your little one this morning, at least you have a private scan to look forward to Smile

MunchyMunchkin · 26/09/2019 18:15

I had my 16 week appt today at 17+2. Was a cover midwife and she was adamant about not doing the heartbeat so I didn’t push it. My own midwife would’ve done it for me but only because she knows I’m medical (small benefits). I know it seems annoying that they won’t do it but it’s because it can be tricky to hear and if they can’t then causes unnecessary stress +- extra scans.

MockingJay27 · 26/09/2019 18:16

@ELW85 @emmaclare83 I know its hard but try not to compare your results with other people's, so many factors go into it and everyone is all different ages. You are both low risk which is great! X

DaniX91 · 26/09/2019 18:17

@SweetChillis aww pleased u got to hear your little one! I was more annoyed because she said at the booking appointment that we'd hear it at the 16 week appointment. She said today, I'd probably not find it then you'd get stressed and there would be nothing u could do, u couldn't go to the hospital or anything! Whereabouts are u if u don't mind me asking? I'm looking forward to Sunday now 😊 x
