Hey all!

Looks like we filled up the first thread pretty fast! Took me a while to realise why I couldn't send a message.

This is the first thread I've ever created, so hopefully I've done it right.

I'm going to tag the most recent users that commented, so sorry for a lot of the people that I miss. Hopefully everyone will find this.

Just found this after the last thread, finding it hard to keep up it moves so fast ! Good thing though.

I'm 8+5 now, I've had my first appt with midwife and an early scan this week - so exciting. The epu offered the scan as I had a mc in March.
Booking appt lasted around an hour, here it isn't done electronically so I have a copy of everything we filled out to bring with me to appts. Scan was so reassuring as saw the heart beating (although I know it's not 100% guaranteed or anything it's still nice) sickness is awful and I'm feeling very bloated but just so excited I want the next few weeks to hurry up for my next scan!

Hope you're all doing well x

PurpleViolin · 01/09/2019 00:57

My dates have been changed after scan am now 7+3. Scan showed a heart beat which is Brill. Still spotting and cramping but they weren't too worried. Seen a consultant too on Fri cos I have autoimmune issues that can affect baby and also me during preg.

PrincessConsuela12 · 01/09/2019 11:20

@LokiCat Thank you! I'm getting nervous again!

16th October does seem so far away doesn't it! Yes... early scan sounds like a good idea 😄

Tweedlady · 01/09/2019 13:58

Hello ....fellow April 2020 baby here (all being well). Currently 7 weeks +4 and have booking appointment on Friday coming and first scan booked for early October which feels ages away!

Hadn’t realised quite how lonely first trimester is, feels really overwhelming at the moment thinking/worrying how work will take things, if something goes wrong etc, how to have a social life without arousing suspicion.

How does everyone else keep things a secret at work? I am a senior manager so often have work dinners/meals etc that involve booze. I had to have a sneaky wine 10 days ago just after finding out as there really was no convincing my boss I didn’t really feel like one (he was just being nice!).

selm2701 · 01/09/2019 15:04

Hi @Tweedlady I've been getting out of drinking by saying I'm on slimming world (helps with fussy food too) and just saying I've not go enough points, or it's not worth the points. No one has questioned me!

I've not got a date for the scan yet, but got my booking in appointment next Thursday. I've never known time move so slowly! October feels a lifetime away! But we'll get there! ☺️

PurpleViolin · 01/09/2019 23:10

@Tweedlady try - on antibiotics (although that's an obvious one) or taking codeine for some injury prob only works if you do sport or something. Or have been having migraines and drs suggested a no alcohol trial and you are gutted about it.Wink this also works as migraines could be a reason for no caffeine too.

Also got to drive later in the day is a good one

Mumstheword1987 · 01/09/2019 23:36

I'm 6 weeks now suffering extreme fatigue and sore boobs this is my 4th baby I have 3 under the age of 4 right now

Sussexbythesea84 · 02/09/2019 07:58

I got my booking in appointment this weekend. I’ll be 10 weeks by the time of the appointment.

PrincessConsuela12 · 02/09/2019 10:09

@Tweedlady I agree with the loneliness, I can talk to DH but I'd like to talk to others who have been through the same thing. It's so hard having this huge secret and so many different emotions bubbling away. I'm also starting to feel a bit nauseous so I'm not sure how I'll cope at work if I start to get sick x

Sunshine8888 · 02/09/2019 12:03

@Mumstheword1987 aww that sounds really tough. I’m 6+4 weeks today and I really don’t feel pregnant. It’s a bit worrying! Is anyone else feeling generally ok?!

PrincessConsuela12 · 02/09/2019 12:07

For those not on the Facebook group I had my follow up scan this morning & everything is in the right place & I have been discharged from the EPU! Hoping to have my booking in appointment letter come through in the next week or two 😊

Sunshine8888 · 02/09/2019 12:09

Yay @PrincessConsuela12 that’s really great news! You must be so relieved

Sussexbythesea84 · 02/09/2019 12:09

@Mumstheword1987 I’m feeling a little crampy in my stomach and my boobs are really sensitive.

My first pregnancy I didn’t have any symptoms apart from a missed period and then sore boobs around week 10/12

Mumstheword1987 · 02/09/2019 12:11

Sunshine8888 everything else is perfect from what im aware considering a private scan for reassurance how are you feeling ?

gnat99 · 02/09/2019 12:11

Hello ladies can I join you?

I am 8+4 today with my second. Due date according to LMP is 9th April, but my cycle has been very erratic recently so I wouldn’t been surprised if that changed. DD has just turned 3 so I’m hoping it will be a reasonably manageable gap. I lurked around following most of the first thread, but was too anxious to get involved until now.

Thanks for sharing your news and experiences, it really helps to hear from others in the same boat. Thanks especially to whoever passed on that miscarriage stats chart, I’ve found it great to look at every day and watch the risk go down. I’m 41 now and know the risks go up with age, so like many of you, I’m finding it hard to relax into this pregnancy. Just got the date through for our dating scan, and it’s 8th October!!! Feeling horribly disappointed as I’ll be nearly 14 weeks by then and it feels a long time to hold out.

We did have a 7 week scan at EPU because I had a lot of pelvic pain on one side and also felt my pregnancy symptoms had abated. Thankfully it all looked fine, but the reassurance is wearing off again now. Was considering a private scan before we go on holiday with in-laws next week, but money is tight, and things could still go wrong after that anyway, so think I will just try and hold out.

Doesn’t help that DH is very stressed & unhappy at work atm, and depressed in general so I’m worried about him too. Keep trying to remind ourselves that this should be a happy time!

Mumstheword1987 · 02/09/2019 12:12

Sussexbythesea84 interesting I didn't get the sore boobs with my other pregnancies I had all girls 🙂 how are you feeling in general

LokiCat · 02/09/2019 12:14

Hi all!

@PrincessConsuela12 that's brilliant, so happy all is well 😊 hope your booking in appointment comes round quickly!

@Sunshine8888 I feel exactly the same at 6+4. My boobs aren't as sore as they first were and I have a little bit of nausea (but barely), otherwise I feel great and not pregnant at all! I mentioned it to my midwife and she said that it isn't too concerning. Sometimes it'll come at 8/9 weeks and sometimes it won't come at all. I guess we should count ourselves luckily but I'd rather the symptoms for reassurance 😂

Great news PrincessC! You must be so relieved.

Forgot to mention my symptoms:
First few weeks had extreme fatigue and lots of cramping & pelvic pain, particularly in one side. That’s calmed down a bit now, but I’m now quite nauseous and dizzy a lot of the time - tho not every day, and not actually being sick thankfully. Also quite achey generally. Last few days have a really blocked nose and sinus headache. Annoying when you can’t take decongestants. Took day off work today as have slight temperature too and thought a day in bed would help. Also taking iron for anaemia which doesn’t help with constipation...

The weirdest thing this time round is that my boobs seem unaffected so far. Last time they were really sore and grew quite quickly. Wondering if it’s because I breastfed DD till early this year? I know they say all pregnancies are different, but this is surprising me!

Sunshine8888 · 02/09/2019 12:25

Thanks for the reassurance @LokiCat. I have got some symptoms - tiredness (but not as horrible as I thought it would be), sore boobs (but bearable), still getting milky white discharge, mild crampy feelings and just generally achy especially my back! So hopefully that’s all good signs! But not feeling nausea! It weird because I was feeling a bit sick before I got my bfp last months but since I found out I’ve felt better! Very odd! Really hope everything is ok! I keep wanting to take pregnancy tests to check there’s still a second line even though I know it’s pointless 🙈

Sunshine8888 · 02/09/2019 12:26

Not last month, last week sorry!

gnat99 · 02/09/2019 13:01

Sunshine, so many women get hardly any symptoms, and my sister was one of them. No sickness even when she was carrying twins! I know it’s hard to do, but do try not to worry. Like you, I’ve been tempted to keep testing, but managed to resist after the first few early ones.

Sussexbythesea84 · 02/09/2019 13:07

My daughter keeps telling me there’s two babies in there..... but saying that, she does speak to the baby through my belly button 😂

Sunshine8888 · 02/09/2019 13:40

@gnat99 thanks - I’m such a worrier! Just can’t help it! Don’t think I’ll believe it until I see a scan 💗 how far along are you?

gnat99 · 02/09/2019 14:13

Sunshine I’m 8+4, so two weeks on from you. My nausea really kicked in after I got to 7 weeks, so maybe that will happen you?! I was very worried at exactly your stage, as my early symptoms seemed to have vanished, and I had some bad pains. A scan at EPU at 6+6 showing baby in the right place with heartbeat did reassure me hugely. Sorry if you’ve said this, but would you consider a private early scan?

Sussex that’s so sweet? How old is your daughter?

PurpleViolin · 02/09/2019 14:16

Fab news princess.

I nearly vomited in the staff room today. Envy couldn't keep my lunch down had to leave the room.
