Hey all!

Looks like we filled up the first thread pretty fast! Took me a while to realise why I couldn't send a message.

This is the first thread I've ever created, so hopefully I've done it right.

I'm going to tag the most recent users that commented, so sorry for a lot of the people that I miss. Hopefully everyone will find this.

Hi all! I am 6w+6d today and I am having an early scan on Sunday. I am so panicking, hoping to see a healthy heartbeat!

I have been nauseous for weeks, boobs are unbearably tender (I have to sleep in bra), fatigued, constantly irritated by everything, my back already hurts when I bend, my face and back look like I am 17 again and god I am bloated. Sometimes I get a mild cramp, but less than in 5w.

I just hope all those means baby is ok. So anxious about it.

Is anyone nervous too?

BumblieBee · 29/08/2019 13:44

Hi everyone, checking back in again. I'm 7+5 now and still feeling really sick.

If anyone would like to join the Facebook group there are a few of us who can add you, one of them being me so please feel free to PM me and I'll be happy to add you. Anyone who wants to wait til after scans that's absolutely fine too. It's a secret group so no one can see if you join.

Sunshine8888 · 29/08/2019 13:48

I think the nausea is coming. I’ve been so hungry up to now but just tried to eat my lunch and I’m now feeling awful. How do people cope at work? I am a lawyer and I have clients all the time. I’m really worried as fear this is only going to get worse 🤢

EmilyJ1234 · 29/08/2019 14:05

@PurpleViolin I'm not expecting a heartbeat to be honest, it'll just be a bonus if there is one. I've had very strong positive test since 6 days before af so I have it in my head it may be twins as there is a slightly higher chance of multiples with clomid, so hopefully we will have some more information then, even if it's only a little bit. DH said we can have another scan after hol if I'm still nervous bless him!
Xx

PrincessConsuela12 · 29/08/2019 14:40

Hi everyone,

I spoke to the EPU earlier & my levels have more than doubled so things are looking good! I have another scan on Monday to make sure baby is in the right place 🤞🏽the consultant I spoke to sounded quite confident so I am starting to relax a little 😊

Starrygirl12 · 29/08/2019 15:18

Can I join? Baby number 2 due roughly 16th April! First baby only 5 months old - shock to the system but excited!

Congrats to everyone!

CassandrasCastle · 29/08/2019 15:57

@AlmostLondoner Oo, we're at exactly the same stage, 6+6! I do feel nervous.

Just booked my midwife appointment - first one available isn't until I'll be around 11 weeks all being well.. Hmm Oh well

CassandrasCastle · 29/08/2019 15:59

The call with my Mum at lunchtime was fun...implied that because bf and I are not married, the baby won't have a stable home or loving parents. FFS, it's the last thing I need right now

Sunshine8888 · 29/08/2019 16:28

That’s great news @PrincessConsuela12, that must be a relief!

@CassandrasCastle I’m sorry your family are being so unsupportive! That is not what you need at a time like this! How can your mum make comments about not being a loving parent just because you aren’t married - I assume she’s married and how she’s being with you isn’t exactly loving... sending hugs 💕

LokiCat · 29/08/2019 16:32

Hi all! Wow this thread moves so quickly in a day!

@Sunshine8888 I think 6 weeks is quite early actually, after 8 weeks is normally what most areas do. Glad you got your appointment though. Hopefully the next few weeks will go by quickly!!

@ellarosee yup old blood, but it's how my mc started last time so I got extremely worried, but happy it's all stopped.
That's great that your DH can come with you. Mine would love to be at everything, but I just don't want him to waste annual leave..
The system in my area works a little differently. I completed a self referral form on the hospital website which is what they use to send you your 12 week scan. The information is then passed on to the midwife to make the booking in appointment. So I got my appointments pretty early on. I think most areas get the 12 week scan date after the booking in appointment!
When I tried to book the early scan last time, it used my LMP date, which is also the date the hospitals use until you have your dating scan at 12 weeks.

@PrincessConsuela12 that's great that your levels have doubled! Seems to be going in the right direction very pleased for you. Hope the scan on Monday is all fine!
I'll be 6+1 tomorrow! No we just work through a self referral form on the hospital website. It's so confusing that each area does its own thing!

@Amelialolz that's a great price!! Glad you managed to find one so close to you as well.
When's your appointment?

@Harriettenightingale I'm the same as you. I'm waiting for the next week or so to go by okay before I book my early scan! It was horrible having to cancel it last time.

@Ruthsoph oh I hadn't realised! Good memory! I'm sorry to hear about your previous mc. Hopefully this is our lucky one and we have a healthy 9 months 🤞🏽💕

@CassandrasCastle oh no, I'm sorry about your Mum's reaction.
I'm sure you and your OH will be brilliant parents to your baby. I know it's difficult, but don't let what she's said get to you. You can prove her wrong :) xx

Sorry for all others I've missed - there's so many of you!!
Welcome to all that have joined and congratulations! I'm so pleased for you all and so excited to go on this journey with you 😊💕

Nausea showed up with a vengeance this morning! Also weirdly, I had a big lunch and now a few hours later I'm so hungry again, like I haven't eaten in ages!! My body is going to cause me to balloon up at this rate 🙈🙈

ChickenNugget86 · 29/08/2019 16:48

@CassandrasCastle - sorry to hear about your mum's reaction, that's really sad the fact she's going to be a grandparent and wants to criticise at you. I have a feeling when me and DH tell people we'll get comments that aren't helpful.

I made a decision some years ago not to see negative family members for my own mental health, feel much better for it.

nicoletia · 29/08/2019 18:32

@ChickenNugget86 I'll be 9 + 4 when I have my booking appointment so I guess this is how long it takes.

AlmostLondoner · 29/08/2019 20:23

@CassandrasCastle are you also freaking out? I am having midwife appointment on 7th next week, very early and Nuchal scan on 7th October (12w4d).

Don't listen to your mom.

Ruthsoph · 29/08/2019 20:31

@CassandrasCastle sorry your mum isn't being supportive - do you think she realises what she said?
My mother in law has a problem of always saying the wrong thing - I am waiting to hear what she says about my pregnancy - I am 42 so I am sure she will have an opinion on being my age and pregnant xx

AloeVeraLynn · 29/08/2019 20:35

Tentatively joining you guys. I'm about 8 weeks with number four...big shock and I'm still a bit tearful over it all but DH and I have agreed we are doing this!

morgan158 · 29/08/2019 21:25

Hi everyone, just discovered this thread and so happy to have people to talk to! I'm 9 weeks with my first and visited the doctors at 5 weeks to tell the news. I was told she would refer me on and a midwife would be in contact, however I've still heard nothing. Is this normal or what is everyone else's experiences? I've been waiting each day for a letter to arrive but still nothing

Sunshine8888 · 29/08/2019 21:32

Has another scare tonight, brown discharge when I wiped and also some pink spots. It’s so frightening - there is nothing I can do apart from hope it will stop and it’s nothing harmful. DH came home and found me in tears on the sofa. I just don’t know how to cope with all this anxiety

PrincessConsuela12 · 29/08/2019 21:33

@Sunshine8888 & @LokiCat Thank you! Feeling a lot better about things now, I was worried I wasn't experiencing as many symptoms as people on here but I think I'm a little further behind, I think my scan showed I was probably nearer 4+2 on Tuesday so I don't even think I'm 5 weeks yet although according to some calculators I'm 5+2 🤷🏽‍♀️ tiredness is a killer for me though, I've been ready for bed since around 7.30

PrincessConsuela12 · 29/08/2019 21:34

Oh @Sunshine8888 please try not to worry 💗 I know it's easier said than done but it really is quite common. Are you getting any cramps? Can you go to your local EPU for reassurance? X

Sunshine8888 · 29/08/2019 22:20

@PrincessConsuela12 nothing too painful so I’m hoping that’s a good sign and still no bright red blood... there is an EPU nearby - I think I’ll just keep monitoring over the weekend as we are away at a wedding (first not drinking challenge) and head there next week if things get worse. The internet is very conflicting - some say light spotting/discharge normal others are like see your dr if you get any bleeding 🤷🏽‍♀️

selm2701 · 30/08/2019 07:58

Hi everyone!
Please can I join? I'm 6w exactly today and the morning sickness has hit me hard this morning! I'm sitting in the bathroom recovering as I type 😞
This is my first pregnancy after a difficult 2+ years of TTC. We're on track for ivf and were hoping to start treatment by Christmas - so the + on the pee stick 2 weeks ago was a big surprise! It doesn't feel real yet and I'm nervous it's not. I've got my first midwife appointment next week. I am telling my manager at school on Monday too (because I work with some children who have hit me before) 🤞🏼 that all goes well!
It's a really exciting yet worrying time! I didn't expect to feel so conflicted!
Wishing everyone a safe, happy and healthy 9 months! My EDD is 24th April!

ChickenNugget86 · 30/08/2019 08:35

@selm2701 - congrats!
I'm going to tell my headteacher on Monday on the training day, as I have some children who can be aggressive also and it's the fact I'm feeling so sick already. I'm not throwing up but have that horrible sick feeling throughout the day. I think cause I've had 6 weeks off I don't want to be ringing in sick. Don't want them to think I'm milking it.
I'm trying to get my head around going back to work as I've got 30 new reception children to settle in!

PrincessConsuela12 · 30/08/2019 08:38

@Sunshine8888 See how you go, it sounds positive that there is no red blood and it's not painful. Good luck with the no drinking! I'm not a huge huge drinker but now I know I can't have one I find myself wanting one everyday 😂

@selm2701 Welcome and congratulations 💐 I hope you're feeling better now

Sunshine8888 · 30/08/2019 08:42

@PrincessConsuela12 it’s more having to try and hide the fact that I’m not drinking than the drinking itself 🙈 thank you for the reassurance x I must have slept funny last night because I’ve woken up with such a stiff neck! Normally I’d reach for the ibroprofeun but obviously can’t do that now!

@selm2701 oh no poor you! I am really hoping to be one of the lucky ones who doesn’t get sick... I don’t know how I’d cope!

selm2701 · 30/08/2019 09:37

@ChickenNugget86 hope it goes well for you! Reception children are always so full of energy! I'm a nurture lead and have a nurture group in the mornings with 6 high needs reception children 😳 and the nearest looks are the year 1 toilets and I don't fancy getting up close and personal with them! 🤢

@PrincessConsuela12 thank you, I can't keep anything down at the moment, not even water, hoping it'll settle by lunch!

@Sunshine8888 try a wheat bag for your neck! I've been off ibuprofen for two years now and found my pain tolerance has increased and the wheat bags really help with general aches and pains!
In terms of reasons to not be drinking, I've also not been drinking for two years now. I've been doing slimming world and driving everywhere so used both as a reason to not drink. With the caffeine I have said I'm sleeping badly and trying to reduce the caffeine to help.
No one has questioned me yet!
