kiteflying · 01/08/2007 17:20

Have you had any more pains Gill?

jem1969 · 01/08/2007 17:22

I'm here too, although I should be napping really ("sleep when the baby sleeps" etc etc!)
Hannah (feels v strange saying that!) was weighed today and has put on weight so that's a relief. Have to go into hospital for a couple of appointments tomorrow- paediatricians freak me out slightly.
Just experimented putting the pram in the car- fits but no room for anything else at all. Have been saying to DH that we needed a new car but he keeps saying there is no rush. Hopefully this has made him see that there is or the 3 of us are going nowhere that might entail an overnight stay

kiteflying · 01/08/2007 17:28

Oh lovely to hear from you jem, and to hear you call your little one by name! Great news that she has put on weight - congratulations.
I am off home now but hope the appointments go well for you. And your DH surprises you with a new car

lizziemun · 01/08/2007 18:16

I'm around, just not on the computer much as mum on holiday this week. So we have been around at hers, dd had been playing with her cousin who is staying at mum's.

We have done a lot this week. DH has finally sorted out the spare room and nursery. So i can/have started to tidy out. Mum has washed and ironed all the baby clothes and bedding for me .

Have to go for a scan on friday to see about the position of the baby, as when i visited the midwife on last friday, it was still breech, she thinks that it is standing up, head under ribs and feet down.

pinkrangerstartstowaddle · 01/08/2007 19:12

Nice to here from you jem, hope your appointments go well, is this due to hannah being early ?

Lizzie - there seems to be a few with babys breech, whats your Due date, baby may turn?

Im still here, nothing to report apart from the fact that i have reached 37 weeks today so can have my home birth!!!! - which i also find scary!!

bananabump · 01/08/2007 19:16

Hi guys, I did cancel the appointment in the end, I was just too tired to go. The midwife was lovely about it, she asked how I was feeling and has arranged to come over saturday morning to see me, so nothing to worry about.

Had a three hour nap and don't feel too different to be honest. I'm just going to veg out this evening, you never know when you might need your strength, after all!

Myweegirl it's a boy, but the heartbeat sounds more horselike than trainlike to be honest, odd. I know he's fine anyway, he's grooving away and kicking the laptop as I type. Your niece is a bit out of order outting pics of your dd online, she should have asked first! Do you think she just didn't think before she did it?

Kiteflying, I'd love to see your 4d pics of the baby, let us know when you put them on your profile!

MrsShuvel, so at you going to see the scissor sisters! How were they? Do you think baby liked the music?

Jem, glad little Hannah is thriving, you're doing so well! Are you breastfeeding? You'll have us all asking your dvice in a couple of weeks! Have we got that postnatal thread set up yet?

Ah well, another mammoth post. Hope you're all putting your feet up, have a nice evening!

lizziemun · 01/08/2007 19:40

pinkrangerstartstowaddle

I'm due on the 30th August, but last time dd came at 39 weeks.

I hope it does turn as i do not want a c-section.

lovelybird · 01/08/2007 21:13

Congrats Washer - sorry the flippin internet crashed and we've only just got back on-line! So pleased to hear that we have 2 LO's already and both have been quick births. I'm hoping that rubs off on me as well.
Hi Paula - hope everything is OK with you.X

angie0201 · 01/08/2007 21:23

I'm due on the 16th and am willing her to pop out early am trying the usual things, but am getting a lot of braxton hicks pls be soon so uncomfotable. hope everyone else are keeping well i can't believe how quick its gone seems to have flown by!

angie0201 · 01/08/2007 21:27

by the way great name for the thread!

Babylovesmuffins · 01/08/2007 21:37

Hi Ladies. Congratulations to you too Washy!! You and Jem have beautiful babies.

I still don't have internet connection during the day so just using DH's laptop again this evening. Like Loler said, DH keeps reading over my shoulder so I'll need to sort something else out!!

Nothing much to report here - started the raspberry leaf tea this morning. I've been doing loads of cooking and baking - woke up at 5am the other morning and went downstairs to make banana loaf as I couldn't sleep . Anyone else been doing "strange" things like that??

Kite - are you starting to doubt that you will manage the Hypnobirthing when the time comes? I've been practising the sleep breathing loads but still having problems with the slow breathing - you know the one you use for during contractions? I can still only breathe in for a count of about 16/17 - which won't help much during longer contractions (or surges!!). I need to convince myself that I will manage the relaxation during labour!!

angie0201 · 01/08/2007 21:46

Must admit think the nesting instict has kicked in!! have been frantically cleaning the house and washing anything i can lay my hands on!!

Babylovesmuffins · 01/08/2007 21:58

Hi Angie. Still waiting for the cleaning instinct to kick in! Have washed all the baby clothes and blankets, sheets etc though

angie0201 · 01/08/2007 22:09

its funny that these hormones make you clean would be nice if they made you relax and get ready for the birth and the men got the instinct to clean!

BabyMadandBIGbump · 01/08/2007 22:46

Evening Ladies!

Feeling loads better today, I had some moments on Monday and Tuesday where I felt like this baby will never come, but I keep telling myself that it will, as it cant stay up there forever, and having a cry helped, but what doesn't help is DH saying "come on get that baby out" I mean what does he want from me "to shove my hands up and get LO out", hang on and I'll do that now shell I, some people! Been on my birthing ball tonight and just about the have some RL tea before going to bed, DH said do I want sex again tonight told him to sod off as it's not done the job I wanted it to-do so far so, NO!

angie0201 bloody to right but my DH cleaning not to worried about that, but cook, now that would be nice, he hasn't cooked in about 3 years so I hope we all live though me being unable () to cook, I think it's going to be lots of chipie and KFC, we'll see!

bananabump · 02/08/2007 07:07

Morning! babymad your other half sounds like mine, never cooks (although apparently he can) so eating postpartum should be an interesting new experience for me!

Feeling miles better today after a decent amount of sleep. Going to do the final things on my list today jobwise: I'm planning on attacking my messy bedroom, changing the bedding, cleaning the windows I can reach, and wiping the front and back doors (I got up close the other day and realised they were minging... wearing no glasses must spare me loads of housework)

Angie, hope you're having fun trying all the natural induction methods, but don't force yourself to eat mountains of pineapple, you'll get a sore mouth long before you get enough of the enzyme that's sposed to bring on labour!

saturn · 02/08/2007 07:12

Morning all - no more babies yet then?

Annie - glad your midwife appointment went ok. Can't understand why giving birth on all fours would confuse the doctors though . Good luck with the ECV today.

and hope everything goes ok wih your appointment today Augustbride - let me know how you get on.

Since I started maternity leave I've been waking up at 6am, couldn't wake up when the alarm went off when I had to go to work!!

Plan for today is to have a clear out, but don't know if it can be classed as nesting as not looking forward to doing it. More like panic now as needs to be done and baby could arrive any time now .

Hope everyone else is ok...

saturn · 02/08/2007 07:16

Morning banana, takes me so long to post you beat me to it. Glad you're feeling better today. You sound a lot more motivated than me to get jobs done...

pinkrangerstartstowaddle · 02/08/2007 08:51

Good Morning ladies,
Glad people are feeling a little better! Im also going to clean my windows today but must also do something with ds as he is climbing the walls! im happy to stay in, he is not!

myweegirl · 02/08/2007 09:20

morning - glad everyone is feeling better today. can someone send me some motivation? i've got lots to do but just can't get off my backside to go and do it!

and i think that DD has very kindly passed on her latest cold to me . she's started asking every morning when she gets up 'has baby come out yet, i'm fed-up waiting'. she's 2.6 going on 12.

banana - that's good that the midwife is coming out to see you on saturday.

oh well - i should really prise myself off the couch and go and put a wahing on (it's dry and sunny here for once)

growingbagpuss · 02/08/2007 09:38

ITs lovely and sunny here to -but my bits are so sore (thnk I've got thrush AGAIN) I'm wearing my tights to hold everything up! Can't face the heat of the garden.

Luckily DS is happy playing with his Thomas trains, so to an extent I can chill.

I'm depressed that Mum is coming tomorrow, and I know she'll peer at my dust and un tidy stuff. I was really hoping this little thing would have made an appearance, as it would have taken the heat off us driving en masse to Bristol in the next few weeks.

Its wierd how even though its only another day thats gone, it feels like now there's no way she'll be born before her due date - daft isn't it? does any one else feel like that?

growingbagpuss · 02/08/2007 09:40

... and as for Conkertree and mum2George...... you poor things.. hope you are quiet because you both suddenly gave birth last night and haven't had a chance to post!!!

mum2george · 02/08/2007 09:58

Sorry Growingbagpuss, no pop here

Have just spoken to the MW, had an appt with her on Tues and she said that she would book me an appt at the ante-natal clinic as I was full term on Weds and she would call be back on Tues with the date and time.

To cut a long story short, after many phone calls trying to chase her up, the appt isn't until next Friday, 10 Aug, and no, she won't do a sweep

Mind you, its probably a good job that she won't do the sweep as its the MW that the Consultant put the complaint in about.

Hope everyone is ok today, I'm still waiting for the mass pop. DH and me are going out for lunch in a bit as its our Wedding Anniversary

kiteflying · 02/08/2007 10:10

Happy Anniversary mumtogeorge. Hope you can enjoy it and not be too frustrated about waiting for the baby.

Best write into your birth plan that you never want to see that MW again I think

Maybe if you go for a long long walk after lunch and end up somewhere romantic with your hubby it might set things off? Tell the baby it is your anniversary and you would love a present in the form of his/her arrival!

growingbagpuss · 02/08/2007 10:10

Thats awful Conkertree - so if you make it that far you'll be 1.5 weeks over nearly - thta's not very good.

I wish this science of babies arriving was a bit more accurate!

DH said to me last night -what happens if she hasn't come by Thurs (he's going to Scotland) -I said, " you won't be going" - trouble is, I'd forgotten I am booked for a sweep on weds... so things may well get moving...

Happy Anniversary by the way!1 Enjoy your meal out...
