Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
growingbagpuss · 02/08/2007 10:11

I'm sorry... lets try that again..... Mum2George - Happy Anniversary!!

myweegirl · 02/08/2007 10:25

happy anniversary mum2george - enjoy you lunch (you could make it a hot curry with 7 fresh pinapples to try and help things along)

growingbagpuss · 02/08/2007 10:31

mmmm tasty.... followed up by a good dose of sperm? Sorry, lowering the tone of the conversation !

bananabump · 02/08/2007 10:40

lol bagpuss, that reminds me of dp's "kind" suggestion last night of "helping me out" with an oral dose. I think my crazed laughing was enough to dash his hopes!

I'm thinking about maybe asking for a sweep on saturday if she's prepared to do one, but it does feel like playing with fire. But I could be tucked up in bed with baby by sunday, it's a tempting thought!

Must crack on with house now, back in a bit!

BabyMadandBIGbump · 02/08/2007 10:44

Morning Ladies!

Well my due date tomorrow, sperm didn't work for me (nither did, RL tea and tabs, curries and pineapples), 7 days in a row and still no baby things only work if your body is ready, told my DH to forget it last night as he thought he might be getting it AGAIN!

Back soon!

myweegirl · 02/08/2007 10:44

i nearly choked on my digestive there!

i'm thinking about asking for a sweep on monday when i see midwife. if i go more than a week overdue then i've go no-one to look after DD overnight as everyone seems to be going on holiday at the same time.

myweegirl · 02/08/2007 10:47

babymad - i really admire your...er...stamina (if that's the right word)

BabyMadandBIGbump · 02/08/2007 11:05

What are the chance's of having baby ON your due date??? Any one know???!!!

kiteflying · 02/08/2007 11:07

Apparently slim as due dates are calculated on a 40 weeks gestation and apparently a 41 week gestation is closer to the average. In India, due dates are calculated at 42 weeks!

I don't know if that is helpful - I think I can already hear the wails of despair.

myweegirl · 02/08/2007 11:07

i think i read that it's only about 4% are actually born on their due date.

BabyMadandBIGbump · 02/08/2007 11:15

So I've got more of a chance of planning something tomorrow and LO not coming?! That's the bit that gets me down the most, the waiting and not being able to plan anything, JUST IN CASE iyswim! And the sex thing, now I don't have DH complaining that he has had it in months, so when I'm off limits I can remind him that he had it for 2 weeks and one week everyday (and i was on top I real treat for him LOL), I have my reasons !

growingbagpuss · 02/08/2007 11:16

I did start a thread yesterday asking if our little gruoup had broken any records yet... but not a single response... clearly I am very boring!!

bresha · 02/08/2007 11:20

Hello and congratulations to jem and washer, has any one else popped yet?
Sorry I haven?t posted 4 months, I have been very busy, sort of been lucking, but u all talk far 2 much 4 me 2 keep up
Well iv had a little boy
He was born on Sunday the 29th at 12:31 weighing 16lb 15 oz we have called him Vincent.
The birth was wonderful although I didn?t get a home birth. Awkward little thing was breech but he turned at 38 wks! But then my waters broke and I didn?t go in 2 labour until a few hours before I was 2 be induced
Good luck to every one else, hope u all have little ones in your arms soon

BabyMadandBIGbump · 02/08/2007 11:24

Congratulations bresha well done chick, give LO a kiss from me!

myweegirl · 02/08/2007 11:28

have bumped for you!

myweegirl · 02/08/2007 11:30

congratulations bresha - hope he's settling in well.(please tell me that 16lb is typo?!)

growingbagpuss · 02/08/2007 11:33

Oh my God Bresha - I echo Myweegirsl sentiments - i hope 16lb is a typo -that's a bloody toddler!!

Hmm... so thats 3 now hey?

Congratulations anyway... hope you are settling in well wth your little (??) fella'

bresha · 02/08/2007 11:38

Aww thank you, yes he?s settled in well, after having 2 girls its very different having a boy, he wees all over the place for a start.
His big sisters adore him tho
16lb luckily that is a typo

bananabump · 02/08/2007 12:16

Congratulations bresha, weren't you due on the 4th august too like me? I like the name vincent, it's nice and unusual in a world of Jacks and Toms! (no offence if anyone has a ds with those names!)

I think we have decided on James now, I love love love it! I think the fact that dp's best friend is called James was putting him off, in case bf thought it was a tribute to his awesomeness (he may think that anyway! lol) You know what men are like, they don't want to act "gay" i.e be sentimental or show any feelings whatsoever!

Surname slightly changed here but baby's name will (probably) be James Ceri Bennetton. Ceri was dp's dads name, I like it because it's unusual and it lets baby retain a bit of his dads welsh heritage.

bananabump · 02/08/2007 12:21

Forgot to say, I just noticed I have a funny lump on my stomach, like a big swollen patch about the size of my hand, stuck out about an inch. Not hard, hot, red or sore, just seems like some fluid has pooled underneath my bump.

Feet are swollen (they always are) but hands are ok, I wonder if it's water retension? Bit worried about the potential for pre-eclampsia etc though so best to get it checked out eh? I have a docs appointment for later on.

SweetyDarling · 02/08/2007 12:28

Yep, gte it check Bananna. Sounds interesting!?
Congrats Bresha! I assume the typo was the additon of the 1 in front of the 6?
I hope all the new Mums are doing well with their new arrivals - so exciting!!
Do we have a post natal thread now?

katybird · 02/08/2007 12:48

Congratulations Bresha !! Lovely name, glad the girls are doting on him.

Definitely worth getting it checked banana.

I got stung by a wasp yesterday, was quite farcical - standing in the queue at a cafe, and it crawled up under my top, across my belly then got stuck in my bra! So I have a lovely red sting on my boob . Must have looked hilarious with me trying to fish it out of my bra and my two mates peering up my top trying to spot it.

Kite, hope you can post your LO's portrait, really want to see! I won't be at yoga this weekend, going to a wedding in Wales, so don't worry when I don't turn up!

growingbagpuss · 02/08/2007 13:02

bananbump -sounds like ahernia - nothing too serious,, and nothing you can do, but def get it checked out.

kiteflying · 02/08/2007 13:02

Congratulations Bresha - love the name (it's my Dad's second name actually) and VERY pleased to hear that you did not deliver a toddler!

That's two "earlies" and I think washer's counts as an "on time"?

Katybird, will post them tomorrow! I am v proud of my pretty little one. Hoping s/he looks as good when out! Poor you with your wasp sting. Just as well you are not allergic. I would have had to have anti-histamines if it had happened to me. There seems to be a little bit of a plague of the blighters in North London at the moment.

Bananabump - are you taking care to keep your feet elevated some of the time? I have had a couple of swollen hands moments as well and my GP was not worried - apparently it is only if all three of the major signs of pre-eclampsia occur at once that you worry.

myweegirl · 02/08/2007 13:32

sounds a bit strange banana - glad you're off to see the DR and get it checked out.
