Went for a walk yesterday by our local harbour and wanted to buy some ice cream from a local company but the two girls working in the van couldn’t confirm whether it was pasteurised or not so I went for the non dairy version in a tub that they actually design for dogs called doggy doggy yum yum! 😂 I turned down the flake replacement which was a gravy bone though! 😬

IVEgottheDECAF · 21/07/2019 08:36

Oh nice puglover Grin i have become quite taken with ice lollies atm, the kids think its great that the freezer is full of them but they dont realise they are MINE ALL MINE!

Stroan · 21/07/2019 09:04

@florencenotflo I'm ok, thank you. Hypersensitive to everything - testing my blood four times a day means I get a constant reminder of why there is such a worry. My numbers are all still inexplicably low, but have a scan and consultant appointment on Tuesday so hopefully will know more then.

I'm stuck in a never ending cycle of thinking that maybe he's safer being born now and then thinking that of course he's safer where he is and needs to stay there as long as possible. The idea that my placenta could be failing and we wouldn't know just really panics me.

Doing some extra work today to make sure all the main stuff is done asap.

How are you today? Hope you slept better last night?

kyles101 · 21/07/2019 09:58

Wow, @Megan2018 12 loads - that is quite a haul! I don't have that much probably a couple of loads worth. Got a finding nemo mr Ray playmat and jumperoo second hand so have given those a good wash too already. And finally put away so we can have the dining room back! After last night even DH said we should probs get a bag packed so think I'll make a start today.

2 more sleeps til Tuesday @Stroan must be awful having something playing on your mind like that.

Housework day today - yay!

Karigan195 · 21/07/2019 10:07

I’ve put my foot down and said we have to pack what we can today. We’re going to the theatre but when we get back it’ll be bag packing time!

Whisky2014 · 21/07/2019 10:08

Oh I've woken up to DH unpacking all the clothes and sheets and nappies and sorting them into wash piles and he's got the first load on!

IVEgottheDECAF · 21/07/2019 10:11

Send him this way Whisky

Stroan · 21/07/2019 10:19

Thanks @kyles101 just always helps to have some kind of check up planned. Slightly terrified of the blood flow check but fingers crossed. And I'm 34 weeks on Wednesday which feels a whole lot better than 33.

I'm off to Primark later for more PJs since we know I'll be in for at least 5 days. And then I'm definitely done. Except any fancy chocolate I find to sneak in for post-birth...

Stroan · 21/07/2019 10:19

@whisky2014 has he been reading this thread?!

Whisky2014 · 21/07/2019 10:25

Lol nah I just mentioned it last week we need to do it. I also suggested he pack the baby bag so he's gona do that too.
So he hasn't done it off his own back per se but I'm surprised he's so organised and active this morning! Hes taken the bull by the horns! He's just been to the next village to get milk so I could have cereal!
Hurray!

Stroan · 21/07/2019 10:31

That's good though, you were worried he wasn't preparing weren't you? Sounds like he's got it well under control.

DustyDoorframes · 21/07/2019 10:36

@Stroan 34 weeks is very respectable! I find it astonishing that the blood flow test even exists, it's extraordinary how much a detailed scan can check. Hopefully Tuesday will be super reassuring! I can see your 4 finger pricks per day are not at all conducive to relaxing and not fretting...
Packing bags by 30 weeks??? I'm 30 weeks next week and we are going on holiday the day after. Do those bags count??
Re shit cupboards, we have a shit room... and our bedroom is pretty shitty... massive sort outs needed over the next 8 weeks or so, argh. We moved in over 2 years ago, and the third bedroom (we had two, and the kids like sharing so the third is the bonus extra) has never recovered from being the house dumping ground. Periodically someone comes to stay so a ton of crap gets shifted to our room and then some of it goes back and forth. It feels like we are forever dragging things off to the charity shop, but there always seems to be so much more. There is just never any time for the big jobs!!

IVEgottheDECAF · 21/07/2019 10:42

34 weeks is really good.

Well i have my third wash load of the day in. Still nothing baby related and still more to go .....

Whisky2014 · 21/07/2019 11:33

Yeah that's right @stroan. I need to give.him benefit of the doubt. He is lovely :)

Moraxella · 21/07/2019 12:08

Getting a second go at the GTT tomorrow as first one was on the cusp so I may be joining you all 😬 33 weeks.. think of all that BM monitoring I’ve missed 😬

Florencenotflo · 21/07/2019 12:25

Hopefully the appointment Tuesday goes well then @Stroan and it puts your mind at ease.

Ok, so I have one mint aero cake made and ready to drop to DH at lunch time. Car seat dismantled, washed down, cover has been washed and is now drying (but I can only find one of the two bits of the infant insert) hopefully I'll find it when I start sorting other stuff.

Swing and sleepyhead covers are also in the wash. Chest of drawers in baby's room has been cleared of all DD's outgrown clothes and I've got 5 bags to go to the charity shop I feel proper smug with myself compared to last night but also proper knackered 😂

So next on the agenda is a walk to the beach with dd, she can play while I reward myself with a massive ice cream. I may even do a double scoop. @Puglover88 I'd not even asked about it being pasteurised! It's the scoop ice cream rather than the whippy but it never crossed my mind!

BBell2 · 21/07/2019 13:35

Had a really good night at my brothers wedding lasted to nearly 2am, danced LOADs to the point my brother came and reminded me I'm pregnant. Drank a little of the toast prosecco but so much water and ate so many sweets that I got to the room and puked 4 times..like there is not enough room for food and baby! Quite unfair considering DH drank an unbelievable amount all day. I do feel very much more big and heavy today, wonder if I shifted the babys position a bit!
Dd was a bridesmaid, made me very proud to be a mummy yesterday.

Did have completely mixed comments on my size- a couple didnt realise I was pg, a few said I looked great to be so far on... my mums step brother said a load of shit things "I should breath in a bit", "oi bump", "everyone looks nice on this picture but seriously rebecca give the pies a rest" ok banter a mate mate get away with but I've not seen him in years- Haha yes, fuck off. And mums mate touched my bump and said you are HUGE! Later told DH to piss off when he tried to stop her falling down a step.

ColdCottage · 21/07/2019 13:55

@Whisky2014 no it was via the babyboxco.you Compleate baby info tests after reading stuff onlinevthen can get the box for £20 delivery. Doesn't say anywhere what is in it though.

KnobJockey · 21/07/2019 13:55

BBell that sounds fun!

I'm struggling today, already had 2 naps. Went out for breakfast, the farm shop people looked at me like I was very hard work as instead of a full breakfast, I wanted sausage, egg and beans on toast. What's picky about that? But I got it, and also a lush looking sandwich and sausage roll for later, and a slice of lemon drizzle cake.

Everyone keeps asking me what I want to do as it's my birthday tomorrow- they seem to think that laying down is not the correct answer to give. So I gave in and went for a walk in a garden centre, now I'm back ready for another sleep.

Stroan · 21/07/2019 14:00

@dustydoorframes I found it impossible to do big sorting jobs with a child around. We only managed to clear the nursery and two shit-tip cupboards because I arranged for people to come and take DD out for the day (it's a rarity!). Even then, keeping DH focused was another battle!

It's a shame, because I LOVE a good sort out. I'm itching to get my hands on the garage again, but it's so bad that I can barely get 3 feet into it just now. I am convinced that DH has been opening the door and just chucking new stuff at the pile of random crap.

@florencenotflo wow! Good work, that's loads in one day. Enjoy the beach. I would kill for a mint aero cake just now!

@bbell2 your Mum's step brother sounds completely delightful.

Whisky2014 · 21/07/2019 14:11

@coldcottage ah hang on. I think I got one of these after my MIL signed up and did some course and quiz? Anyway she put in our details for some free thing and it was crap. It's like a polyester zip bag which had maybe a small packet of disposable nappies, wipes and maybe something else. If that's what it is do not do it! I hope my MIL didnt pay for delivery to the tune of £20 for what i got. And now they have her name linked to our address so I'll expect junk mail to start appearing.

If you're in Scotland then sign up to Scotland's baby box.

IVEgottheDECAF · 21/07/2019 14:39

The reviews on that babyboxco thing arent great tbh a lot of people recieved nothing

DustyDoorframes · 21/07/2019 14:45

Wow @Florencenotflo that's a day's work!!! Superwoman! Definitely earned that icecream!
Your brekkie sounds yum @KnobJockey ! Hah they'd have short shrift with me if the thought that was a complicated order... I almost broke a hotel breakfast person the other week by asking whether the scrambled eggs in the buffet were made with dairy.
@Moraxella urgh fingers crossed for GTT2...
@Stroan it's just impossible sorting with kids, isn't it. They are like tiny opposites of Marie Kondo. Whatever item you've unearthed is their new favourite toy ever, and whatever stack/bag/box you've dealt with they unpack and spread through the house... hopefully your garage is just a wall if gubbins your DH has shoved through the door, and behind lies space and order??? Maybe???
V jealous of the brilliant Scottish boxes, the weird commercial one in England is basically Bounty by any other name.

challengeyourreality · 21/07/2019 15:52

I have to share. Just went to see a second hand pram and I've never seen anything more filthy. The cream lining was brown stained and the white mattress was now a piece of yellow foam with brown crispy edges. The basket underneath had mould in it and the shopping net hanging from it was ripped to pieces. There were cats crawling all over it and when I lifted a piece up cat pee wafted up my nose. I feel so dirty! Now I'm feeling the need to stop my pram search for a few days to recover. I know it was just a bad experience but >ghastly<
That's a great box for those living in Scotland, very trendy prints on the rompers, that's a great resource.
I have been trying to police the drawer of doom to stop the pile of random tat building up but it is a thankless/impossible feat. It is unstoppable. Even though I swore when we moved house last August that it would never come back again!

IVEgottheDECAF · 21/07/2019 15:55

Oh yuck challenge! Why would anyone think someone would buy that! How much were they asking for it?
