Had a midwife checkup today. She was pretty insistent that I stop work due to the pgp which has led to a massive mental health decline. She said it is time to be selfish.
So I will go to GP and attempt to get signed off. I have accepted it is for the best but it is somehow leaving me full of guilt.
DP has been away for work for 2 weeks, cannot wait for him to come home and look after me a bit. Life involves a surprising amount of bending and lifting.

Hey we are having a boy, I've had to have a few extra scans for growth and he may have talapis/clubfeet we saw a surgeon today and the treatment seems so long and daunting X

Report
happydays00 · 05/07/2019 07:49

@Sassy234 sorry to hear that. Are they able to know for definite before he is born? How worrying for you.

The consultants are still murmuring about possible genetic / chromosomal issues that my baby could have. All the scans look fine structurally but as my amniotic fluid levels continue to rise they keep mentioning it. I had the screening test at 12 weeks and was low risk, 20 week scan was fine and still no soft markers for downs etc but I still feel stressed about it.

@happydays00 have you had a GTT test as apparently one of the symptoms of GD can be increased fluid... just a thought.

Hi all, just checking in. Been quiet recently as life has been busy. Can't believe yesterday's news, it's so sad, I can't believe how strong twittle has been. It's just heartbreaking x

Report
happydays00 · 05/07/2019 09:20

@kyles101 yeah had the GTT straight away and was negative. I was strangely hoping I had GD as it would have been a relatively simple solution compared to some of the options I'm left with

Can I ask for some advice please?
I'm 30 weeks with 3rd baby. Last night I experience terrible period type pain in my back that radiates down my legs. It lasted 3 hours and was coming and going. Very intense pain and something I've not really had before in my previous pregnancies. I fell asleep and then woke up feeling fine, Could this be Braxton hicks?

@tobeornottobe1 I would definitely contact your midwife, or local assessment unit, it’s not something anyone can advise you on here!

Exitstrategist · 05/07/2019 11:38

Please ring your midwife immediately- we are not medical experts. My friend had this and turned out she had to deliver baby same day. Get it checked out now

It doesnt sound like BH

I agree you should phone your MW as a minimum

Report
tobeornottobe1 · 05/07/2019 11:41

Ok, thanks I'll give them a ring, however I don't have the pain anymore, just wondered if anyone else ever experience anything similar? X

Definitely second phoning the midwife but whilst waiting etc drink loads of water as dehydration can cause early contractions. Water could help and certainly won’t harm and it is possible in this warm weather

Hi. Can I join as well please? My due date is 25th Sept and I've sort of been hovering between the September and October threads. Looks like I have a few due date buddies on here though!

30 weeks today and definitely feels like things are more real. Just got back from our break away, far too much walking up hills and swimming. I'm absolutely shattered and now need another week of just laying on a sun lounger. But that's not Gona happen.
Having an emotional wobble today. Have cried quite a bit this morning which is very unlike me, but not surprising in light of recent news. Came home to a scan scheduled for Sunday to check on twin 1s growth so that might make me feel a bit better.

I've been reading these posts for tips and advice but not really posted much and have just seen the post yesterday - absolutely heartbroken for Twittlebea.

I strongly suspect that we’ve all had a bit of a wobble and cry. We were all hoping like made that the little chap would make it. Even my partners gone a little quiet and extra huggy.

Welcome purplequalitystreet.

Tobeornottobe1. I did have something like it when I foolishly tried to walk up a little mountain in Spain in 29 degrees. Rest, water and loads and loads of ice seemed to calm it down which is why I suggested dehydration. That’s what the midwife suggested when I phoned her (after she stopped telling me how stupid I was)

@happydays00 no they can't be 100% until he's born so it's just waiting with all the information they give you. And I bet it's scary waiting with all the unanswered questions X

Ha ha, a holiday to recover from your holiday @boodles101 I like it!! I had a wobble yesterday too, cried in my midwife appointment so I'm sure she hunks I'm crackers! Work getting on top of me, training not going as well as I'd hoped and everything that needs doing seemed like an impossible challenge in 5 weeks yesterday. Not quite so daunting today.

Ah, pants, like you @happydays00 I was hoping that could be a simple solution. It must be daunting, it's always the unknown that is so much worse isn't it. Feel for you.

Report
Puglover88 · 05/07/2019 15:04

@happydays00 have you thought about getting the harmony test if you haven’t already had it? It’s much more accurate then the NHS one and will hopefully rule out anything chromosomal.

@Karigan195 thank you, definitely upping my water in take today just in case it was that like you said. Midwife on maternity assessment said it could possible be BH, but as it's not happening now , to take it easy (easier said than done with 2 active kids) and see how I go and to call back if it happens again x

Puglover88 · 05/07/2019 16:06

Does anyone else’s baby have active then quiet days? I’m at hospital getting monitored for reduced movement and she said that baby’s movements should be consistent every day???

Report
TheCraicDealer · 05/07/2019 16:23

I do pug- some days she's pretty chill and then others she's bouncing all over the shop. There was one day during the week that I was close to going in to see a midwife but she bucked up a bit that evening and was back to normal the next day. I've got my 28w midwife appointment on Monday so going to speak to them about it then.

Anyone else having complete exhaustion hit them some days? I'm 30+6 and today I've felt like I've been hit by a bus, despite a good 8 hours sleep last night! Feels like the early weeks again. Is this normal?
