Tentatively starting this as got a surprise bfp today, due date will be 29 Feb-2 March I think. Currently in shock and not even sure if we can go ahead but I hope we can as the news has made me happy, if scared!

Anyone else?

Hi all, are you still accepting new joiners? I got my bfp a little while ago now but only just let it all sink in! I’m now 7+6 with my second - who has come along a little quicker than I expected! All being well with this pregnancy and there will only be a 20m gap - eek! Haven’t read back through the whole threat yet, have you guys set up a fb group at all? x

barnyb · 01/08/2019 15:52

@Rightnow1245 when I went for my scan they said I was 1 day ahead of what I thought. I went for another scan the following week and they again said I was another day ahead! I took it as a good sign. Better then saying baby is smaller then expected ? Xxx

barnyb · 01/08/2019 15:53

@lgh27 congratulations! Xxxxx

I saw my GP just over a week ago to let them know I am pregnant and to get the ball rolling with the booking in appointment... I told him I had just changed address and he said he would sent out the appointment once I had brought my proof of address to reception and sorted it... I said there would be no issue if he just sent it to my old address as we have our mail redirected and he said 'No worries.' I haven't had time to change my address in person yet, and I'm just wondering... I'm now 6+4 and its been a week since I saw the doctor, and the booking appointment is meant to be around 8 weeks. Is it usual to wait this long or should I chase it up? We're understaffed at work just now so I'd rather have notice for my appointments to arrange cover. Its definitely not at my old address because I was there today. (This is my second DC but I had my first 6 years ago and can't remember how long I waited)

lgh27 · 02/08/2019 07:15

@virginpinkmartini I did a self referral to the hospital so it might take longer that way, but I know they said 5-10 working days before appointment comes through so would be reasonable to expect it might take a few more days?

Disney1010 · 02/08/2019 08:37

@virginpinkmartini I went to my gp first with my DD and it took ages. This time I phoned the midwives directly and self-referred, however they're so busy I have a 3 week wait still until my booking in appointment (it was a month when I booked!)

satsumasaturday · 02/08/2019 21:37

We're also hoping to book a holiday @Abi58

  • we haven't been away all summer and currently have no plans so I'm thinking we could try for some autumn sun somewhere a few hours flight away. Think I'll try to find something this weekend. You must be almost at 9 weeks now, is the sickness starting to ease at all? Hopefully only a couple more weeks and you'll start to feel better if not.

I'm still feeling lucky that I'm not feeling too sick, I'm tired ALL THE TIME though! Work is super busy right now too and I'm having to do physio as much as possible at the gym too (badly hurt my leg beginning of summer). It feels like there aren't enough hours in the day to sleep! I'm sooo excited for my bed tonight (which I'm already in).

@virginpinkmartini
I still haven't heard from the midwife for my booking in appointment. I have my 12 week scan letter for 27 August but surely I need to see someone before then? Has everyone else got or had their booking in appointment? I'm 8+4 today and the pamphlet about tests from the doctors that I got given when I told them I was pregnant says that certain tests need to be done by 10 weeks which doesn't leave much time

Vixta13 · 03/08/2019 08:58

Hi everyone and congrats to those with a BFP. This is my first time on here after 2 previous m/c at 10.5 and 5.5 wks. I just got my BFP 2 wks ago, I’m so over the moon and trying to stay positive but still anxious about what’s to come after what’s happened previously. My due date is 27 Mar. I had an early scan at 5.5 as I’m high risk as diagnosed with APS (thick/sticky blood) so hoping with my daily heparin injections, progesterone and asprin that the pregnancy goes to term this time. Doc said all looked normal on scan but obviously really early to tell so back in 2 wks for 7.5 wk scan. I have everything crossed.

AlphaLemon · 05/08/2019 22:13

Hi @Vixta13 and congratulations, I hope everything goes okay for you! Well done for keeping positive, I am sending all my best wishes to you!

How is everyone feeling? X

Vixta13 · 08/08/2019 10:03

Thx for the welcome @AlphaLemon Smile
Has anyone had any light bleeding and a little cramping and it been okay as I just had some this morning and obviously my head is all over the place after suffering previous m/c's. I've rang the EPU and they've booked a scan tomorrow - I'll be 7 wks so Im really hoping we get to see a healthy little heartbeat but I'm so nervous the outcome could be the opposite. I don't know how I'll cope as this will be my 3rd. I'm trying so hard to relax today and think positively but it's so difficult 😰. Wish me luck. I hope everyone else is having a nice smooth first trimester 🍀 xx

Ginandtonic31 · 08/08/2019 12:01

@Vixta13 is it brown blood? I bleed every few weeks. They found I've got a haematoma and it must just keep leaking little bits of blood! I'm 9 weeks tomorrow and had 3 scans already! Most recently yesterday. Could start an album 😂

AlphaLemon · 08/08/2019 12:22

I tend to get a small bleed after sex but nothing more.
What worries me now is that I’ve just started to have moderate cramping but with no bleed - is that something to worry about? I had cramping early on but it was mild.

maybenextmonth · 08/08/2019 12:51

I totally understand your worry @Vixta13 I haven't had any bleeding this time around but I know that some people do. Try to stay positive, although I've also have two MCs so know how impossible that is. My fingers are crossed for your scan tomorrow!

@AlphaLemon how bad is your cramping? I've had a little on and off this week as well but it's fairly mild. I'm 9+2 and I'm just trying hard to remind myself it's all normal. It doesn't feel like my MC cramps so trying to stay positive.

CDell · 08/08/2019 13:06

Hi @Vixta13, I’ve had brown spotting on and off for just under a week. Haven’t had any cramping but also haven’t had any morning sickness yet (I’m 6+6) so also feeling really anxious. I’m going in for a scan on Tuesday. Have my fingers crossed for you tomorrow xx

sam2012 · 08/08/2019 15:13

Thanks everyone I'm numb, just on autopilot doin day to day life. X

Vixta13 · 08/08/2019 15:55

Thx so much everyone for your support. It means a lot.
@ginandtonic31 happy 9 wks tomorrow & that’s great you’ve had a few scans to put your mind at ease. It’s a dark pink colour & has only happened once this morning, but it’s the period-like cramps that are still there - not painful just niggly. On my scan last week doc saw a small cyst which she said was fine so maybe it could be leaking a bit of blood similar to yours. I still have all my symptoms & did a preg test that was still positive so hoping that’s a good sign.
@alphalemon I’ve been too scared to have sex 🙈 Crampings not too bad just constant and the odd sharp twinges. Gynae said mild cramping is fine with everything growing & moving about, we forget we’re growing a human so there’s gonna be some twinges. It’s only when theres blood too that they say to call doc but if you’re concerned call your EPU as always best to ask but stay positive as it sounds normal.
@maybenextmonth Awh thank you hun & im so sorry for your losses, I’ve been so positive the last few weeks but it’s so hard to relax when you see blood after what’s happened before.
@CDell Awh we’re both 6+6 congrats 😀 & my scan was next Tue too but now tomorrow cause of bleeding. Don’t worry if you didn’t get morning sickness, everyone’s different - but I know what you you feel better when you have symptoms, even nausea as it feels more real then. Good luck at your scan next Tue - I’m sure everything’s fine & you’re one of the lucky ones who doesn’t get sick🍀
I’ll let everyone know how it goes tomorrow & praying I’ll have some good news & then i can finally relax for the next 5 weeks xx
