Tentatively starting this as got a surprise bfp today, due date will be 29 Feb-2 March I think. Currently in shock and not even sure if we can go ahead but I hope we can as the news has made me happy, if scared!

Anyone else?

Hey guys does anyone have any idea of what they think they are having ??? From things iv been able to eat and the way it's been I feel like I'm having a girl! I don't know why. I have read old wives tales online and it does seem to be the girl symptoms. I guess il have to wait. But also I don't care what I have! As long as they are in my arms and healthy 🥰

MunchyMunchkin · 29/07/2019 19:39

@barnyb I got better sometime between 12 and 16 weeks last time. Remember that I couldn’t eat tomato things or curry till 16 weeks.

Survived the nausea waves at work but its still going on now. Need to eat dinner but can’t be bothered.

barnyb · 29/07/2019 19:44

@MunchyMunchkin ok I hope it is at 12 weeks because that's only in 3 weeks time :)
I have been the same ! I got home and didn't want anything at all. But I had to force myself. But at night mine is worse and I have to eat just before I go to sleep otherwise I wake up with raging sickness and hunger all night long. I haven't slept properly in weeks. how about you?? Xxx

barnyb · 29/07/2019 19:46

@MunchyMunchkin also have you had any grey hairs come through. ?? Iv got 6 greys !! this child is sucking the life out of me. Literally ! I'm 28 and have never had greys before. I look like storm from the X men 😅

KikiOB · 29/07/2019 20:02

@barnyb how are you? Still got cramps and now quite a sharp pain keeps coming and going under my right ribs. Hopefully got an appointment with the doctor tomorrow for a check!xx

Ginandtonic31 · 29/07/2019 20:16

Thanks for the welcome @barnyb

I feel I have similar symptoms to you!

I had a scan at 7 weeks today and all is well. Although I have a heamatoma so I'm slightly worried. Nobody seemed concerned though but I googled...

barnyb · 29/07/2019 20:29

@Ginandtonic31 oh no what did it say? Good old google ! Lol. Well if they weren't concerned then that's the main thing. They know what they are doing so don't worry about doc google :)
Oh really. Yes my worst week was week 6 and then 7 was bit better and then 8 started out good. Lol and then went down hill from there!
Is this your first child ? Xxxx

barnyb · 29/07/2019 20:30

@KikiOB I'm ok thank you! 😴😴😴🤢🤮😷
I hope your feeling ok. And good your having a check tomorrow I hope it goes well. Let us know what they say! and you haven't had any bleeding ? Xxx

MunchyMunchkin · 29/07/2019 20:32

@barnyb no grey hairs here I’m afraid.
My nausea is worse in the evening and then paired with the exhaustion that I have suppressed all day at work. Normally eat and then need to go and lie down by about 9. Yesterday it was 7. Had a busy month socially which is unusual for us and has wiped me out.

barnyb · 29/07/2019 20:55

@MunchyMunchkin oh ok just me the old lady over here then 👵🏻!
Oh god soooo similar to me! I'm in bed by 9pm every day if not earlier if I can. It's really tough but I'm also really happy and grateful. I haven't been social at all. I can't do it. I went and had a heart cut last week and I had to take a box of nuts and some bica in some foil because I knew I wouldn't be able to cope 🤩👍🤢😴
Xx

satsumasaturday · 29/07/2019 21:24

We went in the end @Rightnow1245 and fingers crossed as of yet I haven't seemed to have picked anything up. Poor kid was exhausted though and just wanted cuddles and to watch tv which suited me fine as I was also knackered!! 🤣 How did your scan go today??

Sorry to read so many of you ladies are suffering. I'm only getting waves of nausea still which a couple of polos seems to fix. But bed at 9pm is the new norm!

I had a call from midwife at my surgery today who is going to now refer me to other midwives in the next week or so to arrange an appointment. I'm 8 weeks today - is it usual to not have your first appointment until 10 weeks or so? I thought when I first spoke to her she said she needed to see me by 8 weeks, so was a bit confused to not hear from her till today but also that I still won't have an appointment for a while

Rightnow1245 · 29/07/2019 22:57

Thanks ladies.. the scan went really well and we saw a really strong fast little heart beat 💕 it was the best birthday present I could of ask for 😊 The dates the gave me wear 8+2 but I’m sure this is wrong because I know when I ovulated but I guess I can argue that at my 12week scan 😂
maybenextmonth I totally get that I felt the same too! Hope the next few days go quick for you.

barnyb sorry to hear your feeling awful! With my son I felt amazing at 8 weeks but this time I feel pretty shit lol.. think most people I speak to their morning sickness goes around 12weeks but also known people to have it all the way through their pregnancy.. let’s just hope it’s ends soon for all of us it really is horrible!!!

satsumasaturday Poor little thing! FX you didn’t pick anything up but my little one is always picking up little illness and I rearly get it! The scan was really good and was so happy to see a little heart beat 💕
It does sound a little late for your booking in appointment but I don’t think it matters to much 🤔

MunchyMunchkin · 30/07/2019 08:05

@rightnow1245 how far along did you think you were? Can be a few days out.

Abi58 · 30/07/2019 08:05

@Rightnow1245 aw that's amazing congratulations!! What dates did you think you were?

@satsumasaturday mine said they wanted to see me around 8 weeks but I guess 10 is only 2 weeks later, mine would have been 10 weeks if I didn't take the only other app which was an awkward day and time work wise (still haven't told them)

Sorry I've been a bit absent there's been so much going on and I haven't had chance to properly catch up. Sorry to hear some of you are feeling rough.

I'm 8+3 today and have my midwife app this morning 😁☺️
I'm now being sick twice a day but with ALL day nausea and dizziness and that's with anti sickness tablets 😭 really struggling but keep telling myself it won't last forever 🙈

Rightnow1245 · 30/07/2019 17:11

MunchyMunchkin and abi58 Well I thought I was 7+5 so I know it’s only 4 days out but I guess it would only matter if I went overdue! I know it’s a long way off but I had to be induced last time with my son and I want to avoid it at all cost this time around because I had a really bad time! But it’s a long way away so guess it’s not a big deal 😬

abi58 we have the same EDD then 😀 I feel bad for you if you are still feeling this bad even on medication.. I’m feeling a little better today so hopefully it’s starting to ease 🤔

How is everyone else today?

Rubicon80 · 30/07/2019 17:51

Hi all

Joining this thread although I'm not sure where I'm going with this pregnancy.

I have 2 kids already, who are 9 and 5.

Got a positive test last Weds, when I realised my period was late and my boobs were swollen and sore. This was a total shock. My due date is somewhere around 26th March, although I think I ovulated late - last period was 16th june.

I was doing all of the wrong things before I realised I was pregnant, and in particular I'm really freaked out about the hot weather - I was exercising, walking for miles, drinking every day, and working out hard in the gym throughout the heatwave.

Going to see how I get on, but thought I should sign up to the thread.

Congrats to all Flowers

MunchyMunchkin · 30/07/2019 20:30

@Rubicon80 congrats and welcome
Nothing you did in the heat will have any impact on your pregnancy so please try not to worry about it.

satsumasaturday · 30/07/2019 21:28

Hi @Abi58 good to have you back, sorry to hear you're still suffering even with meds. Have you got any spare leave you could take to help skip some of your work while you're feeling bad?

maybenextmonth · 31/07/2019 08:14

Morning ladies, freaking out a bit today as the last few days I've felt really quite sick but today so far I feel fine....! I know symptoms fluctuate but I can't help but feel freaked out.

I find myself not eating so soon (as I feel sick when I'm hungry) just so that I can feel the sickness and then eat. as some kind if reassurance. Urgh!

I have an early scan booked tomorrow evening and it literally could not get here quick enough!

virginpinkmartini · 31/07/2019 14:48

Rubicon80 I'm sure everything will be fine, lots of people accidentally do those things before they find out they're pregnant. If you're not having any warning signs like bleeding etc, I'm sure everything will be OK.

Ginandgingers92 · 31/07/2019 19:28

Hi all :) it's been a while since I posted, my anxiety was just becoming problematics, so I had to hide the app for a while. Had our early scan today though and all looked well apparently; strong heartbeat and measuring 7+4. I'm hoping now I can start enjoying things thing time around! 🤞🏼

Hope you're all doing well. Welcome to the new joiners!

AlphaLemon · 31/07/2019 20:45

@maybenextmonth me too! I’ve felt awful for the past few weeks, then fine since Monday! I think that’s a good sign though, and it’s nice not to feel so awful.

I had my booking in appt today (9+1)!

How common is paying for an early scan? My husband thinks it’s a waste of money, but I feel like the reassurance would be nice?

Disney1010 · 01/08/2019 06:24

@alphalemon I had one with my DD, and I've got one booked with this baby. It doesn't feel real until I've seen them on the screen! And then I will feel comfortable telling my close family.

Abi58 · 01/08/2019 07:42

@Rightnow1245 I don't think measuring ahead should be too concerning as the baby is growing which is always a good sign! It's possible you got your dates wrong but also it might change back again at your 12 week scan :)

7th march? ☺️

Aw thank you I know I didn't want to take it but darednt not knowing how I feel on it 🙈
Hopefully it carries on easing for you ☺️

@Rubicon80 welcome and congratulations! I wouldn't worry about that as many people drink etc before they realise they are pregnant. Hope everything works out for you

@satsumasaturday thank you ☺️ we wanted to try and go away so need to save my holiday. Think I will be telling them in the next couple of weeks so hopefully they can be more lenient with me working from home lol.
How are you??

@maybenextmonth I know it's so hard to do but try to relax and enjoy the moments of not feeling awful. Good luck for your scan tonight :)

@Ginandgingers92 aw so happy your scan went well ☺️ it's amazing isn't it ☺️

@AlphaLemon glad to hear you're feeling better. I had an early scan at 6+3 as we wanted reassurance before telling parents and we saw the baby and a heartbeat 😍 I paid £59 so for the peace of mind it gave us it was worth it for us.

maybenextmonth · 01/08/2019 07:45

@AlphaLemon thank for relying. I'm glad it happens to other people, and really I know it does, it's just nerve wracking.
I would absolutely recommend a private scan. with our first, we found out it was not a viable pregnancy, which I was so grateful for or we would have gone to 9 weeks before knowing. It stopped growing at 6.
We have our private scan today and we are both very nervous. My husband originally thought it was a waste of money but now he totally agrees with how reassuring it can be. Neither of us could wait another 4 weeks for the 12 week one.
