Tentatively starting this as got a surprise bfp today, due date will be 29 Feb-2 March I think. Currently in shock and not even sure if we can go ahead but I hope we can as the news has made me happy, if scared!

Anyone else?

The calculator reckons 5 March for me too.
Honestly, I'm not sure how I feel yet.
It seemed like a good idea at the time Blush but the reality of how hard it going to be and how skint we are going to be is sinking in.
I expected to feel happy but I've just felt worried since we got the positive result last night... It feels really awful to say that as I know I should be grateful and feel so lucky.
I've been feeling really rough the last couple of days, not actually been sick yet but quite nauseous, I think that might be bringing me down?

PeachesandPie · 02/07/2019 19:36

Can I join?! Just got my bfp, EDD 10 March. Bit surprised as I've got no symptoms and only tested as af didnt show today. With my dd I was nauseous a week before I got a positive test so this makes a nice change!

Nice to meet you all Smile

@AwkwardPaws27

Yay another 5th March baby! I totally understand what you mean about money, my job barely pays the cost of childcare so I'd really like to give up work to stay at home when baby is here. We are also in the middle (well nearer to the beginning really!) of trying to save for a deposit for a house. Ends were only just meeting before baby! I also don't think we will be accepted for a mortgage on my partner's wage alone.

Saying that, I am super grateful for baby and love him/her to bits already! I just worry so much about how everything is going to work out financially.

AwkwardPaws27 · 03/07/2019 08:52

I'm worried how I'll cope with a young baby too. My best friend has a 2y9m DD who is awesome. I can picture us with a toddler or child. I'm struggling to picture myself with a baby! I don't feel like an adult-y enough adult (I'm 30 Blush)

We recently maxed out our mortgage as our house really needs work (kitchen and bathroom falling apart) so I'll have to go back to work even though it will only be an extra £200 in the pot after paying childcare and railcard. I'm considering other options such as a couple of evening or weekend shifts around DH.

I was about to start a graduate accountancy training scheme, maybe they'll let me defer for a couple of years. Oddly, I'm not sad about missing out on the course - so maybe it wasn't the right path for me anyway!

TimeIhadaNameChange · 03/07/2019 10:27

I'm on cd38 and finally believing I am, actually, pregnant, thanks to this beauty of a line I got this morning! It's definitely not the first test I've taken, but the first where I've got such a bright line.

Saw the doctor yesterday as the receptionist, when asked what my first steps should be, told me I needed to see the doctor for a blood test. The doctor just smiled, said the home tests were good enough and 'Congratulations!'. She gave me the midwives' number so I called them from outside the surgery, and have an appointment for a fortnight.

Keep having cramps and nausea, and was sick last night. Not sure if that was more the power of suggestion though, as I'd spoken to my mother earlier and told her, and she'd said she'd been sick at night not in the morning. So I don't know. I'll see how tonight goes.

Can't believe that I'll finally actually have a baby come this time next year!!!!!!

MumApr18 · 03/07/2019 10:43

Congratulations all new BFPs!! And to those whose first child it is - try to enjoy your pregnancy. I know that's such a cliche to say but, looking back, it was such a magical time and all the worries I had all ironed out once I had my wee boy in my arms.
He's now a crazy toddler and the worries are different this time but I know it will be ok. Any tips for serving a toddler's breakfast with morning sickness would be very much appreciated though!!

TimeIhadaNameChange · 03/07/2019 10:54

@Starlight39 - you're probably past the need for tips now, but what I've been doing is either having a little wine watered down, or taking a glass, sipping it very slowly, then, when DP has nearly finished his glass and is going up for a top-up swapping with him. I managed that one really sucessfully last week and no-one noticed.

Abi58 · 03/07/2019 15:58

@Starlight39 he wasn't away but after having an early miscarriage last month I wanted to be more certain it was looking ok before he got excited :) I told him on Saturday and he was so happy 😁

How was he when you told him?? 😁

@MunchyMunchkin yay congratulations! How did it go telling him?

@ElleyBear13 welcome and congratulations! Sorry to hear about your losses. When is your scan? I've booked one for 7 weeks 🤞🏻 I'm going to call tonight for midwife app 🤞🏻 have you got yours? I've tried to hold back on the tests didn't want to drive myself mad if a line was a bit lighter after last month. Got an frer with the test line darker on Saturday and hcg blood test results that look promising 😁

@RoRosmama @satsumasaturday yay that's you're here 😁💕💕

And wow....sorry for the long post 🙈

Rightnow1245 · 03/07/2019 16:33

Hey ladies congratulations to you all 😊😊 I got my BFP yesterday and feeling over the moon. EDD 12th March
We already have a little boy who will be 2 soon so hopefully he won’t wear me out to much in this pregnancy.
I have already told a few people plus my boss because she ask me straight out right and I’m an awful lying 🤥 We have a good good relationship so I don’t really mind but was going to wait a little longer before saying anything. Oh well 😂

How’s everyone feeling? I haven’t got many symptoms atm apart from my stomach is a little bloated but it happened last time too

Xx

ElleyBear13 · 03/07/2019 16:46

Hey everyone! I have actually no idea when I'm due - weve estimated 1st March but my bfps were/are weird so I had definitely normal period on the 28th may it was five days and heavy...

However the following weeks I felt pregnant - nightmares (I only get them when pregnant dont laugh ha!) Car sickness then on the 11th June I had a faint postive on a asda cheapo tested again two days later another line appeared again on a superdrug cheapo. Waited another day took a clear blue neg and a fr rapid the following both definitely negative no line eyes. Went on holiday, went in saunas, jacuzzi drank champers came back still couldnt understand why I was getting car sick and sweats during the night- got a very clear bfp on a fr rapid and a 2-3 weeks on clear blue on the 28th. So I'm clueless to when im due I keep reading horror stories on netmums and mumsnet how some other mums had this and it turned out to be mmc I'm a little scared. I hope I can stay on this board- this is our "third baby" or sixth pregnancy. I have a 15 month old ds and a almost 4 year old ds. No symptoms apart from nausea if I dont eat, exhausted, night terrors, car sickness. First mw appointment booked in for the 28th July . I just want to be scanned now and told everything is okay xx

TimeIhadaNameChange · 03/07/2019 17:00

Thanks for the welcome, @Abi58!

I told my mum last night. I was going to wait for a scan, but I was dreading telling her and the stress was spoiling my enjoyment of things, so I decided to be brave and let her know. She took it surprisingly well, considering she really doesn't agree with the whole situation. Shocked, but not overly surprised sums it up I think.

One other friend knows. Her hubby was the first to know of the plan to ttc last year and she was very excited when he told her, so I've been keeping her updated. She's been on the other side of the world until recently so it's not like she was accidently going to drop it into the conversation with anyone. She knew recent attempts to donor conceive hadn't worked, but figured something was up since I've barely had a glass of wine since she's been back. She asked me directly at the weekend, and I answered. Eventually. Nobody else here will know until after the scan and after I have a job sorted.

satsumasaturday · 03/07/2019 17:54

@Abi58 I don't know when to tell people, 12/13 weeks is so far away! I think I might tell my mum and dad at the 6 week mark. I told them that if had a miscarriage last month after the fact, so they now know we're TTC. We're going to stay with them at about 6.5 weeks for the weekend, so I'll have to tell them otherwise it'll be so obvious when I don't drink! I think then we'll wait to tell in laws after the 12 week mark as they live overseas so it won't be so hard to keep quiet.

I think it'll depend who we see in the end- I'm no alcoholic but I've never been known to turn down a glass of wine so there's only so much I can hide it!

MunchyMunchkin · 03/07/2019 17:55

@Abi58 I’ve told one friend who puts up with all my moaning and weird pregnancy anxiety.
It’ll be need to know from now until 12 weeks as I’m quite a private person and even if I had another miscarriage wouldn’t want to have to tell lots of people.

Going to Cornwall with DB and SIL next week where gin++ is expected so I will have to tell them, we’re seeing my dad then but luckily he won’t notice. Will tell my mum just before then as she will kill me if SIL finds out first. All other family will be 12 weeks.

My other dr mates from work I will tell in just over 2 weeks - partly so one of them with scan me and secondly as we have a super boozy night out planned on the 19th!
Typical this early pregnancy bit has landed on a unusually social month for me.

PeachesandPie · 03/07/2019 18:32

I've already told my closest mum friends from last time round, and my October 2017 bus from here! I was bursting to tell someone and now I feel I can keep it to myself a bit. Not sure when we'll tell family, we told them at 8 weeks last time as we had an early scan, but we cant afford to do that now so not sure. Dont think I can wait till september though.

blondie87 · 03/07/2019 19:08

I’ve told my parents and a few close friends because when I had a miscarriage I hadn’t told them I was pregnant so then I had to explain what had happened and to be honest, I just wanted some support. I completely get why some people wait until 12 weeks to tell anyone. I’m not making it common knowledge until then!
I’m excited but a bit nervous with it being my third as my two are at the stage where they have started sleeping through and are getting a tiny bit more independent. Going back to square one with a baby will be interesting but I’ve always wanted them quite close in age!

Roisin86 · 03/07/2019 20:42

Hi! I'm heading into my 6th week of pregnancy and due 1st March. I'm also very nervous as I've had three miscarriages in 6 months. I have a six year old from a previous relationship.
Constantly seem to be checking my pants and when I wipe for signs of blood, analysing my body and boobs and and pains in my stomach! Basically not relaxed at all but desperately want this baby to stick! I'm on 5mg folic acid, aspirin and progesterone pessaries from a consultant. Xxx

RoRosmama · 03/07/2019 23:10

@blondie87 I completely understand where you are coming from regarding support for your miscarriage. I've had 4 before my DD and I told my grandma and dad and my two best mates. I too needed the support from them. This time I have told the same. Won't tell
More people until the 12 week mark. What is your due date?
@Roisin86 I'm heading in to my 6th week too, my due date is 2nd March. How do you feel?

RoRosmama · 03/07/2019 23:13

@Roisin86 so very sorry to hear about your miscarriages. Sounds like you've had such a rough time. I'm pleased the doctors are taking such good care of you though ❤️

mangobutter · 03/07/2019 23:33

Tentatively popping in to say hi... surprise pregnancy and we've had the worst week and a half going through all our options but today I got a clear idea of our entitlement to benefits which has dispelled my money fears (it'll be tight but definitely doable) and for the first time am feeling excited! There's still a chance DH may not feel we can proceed but today I'm feeling hopeful Smile

Based on when we actually had any time to DTD I guess I'm due around 29th Feb but I feel way too far behind the Feb group! So that makes me about 5+4. When I got my bfp I felt really pregnant (loads of cramps, bloated, hot, shaky etc) but for the last week all I've had are sore boobs and they're not even that bad. Last time I was pg nausea kicked in around now. Have to say though that compared to last time I have so few symptoms, no more cramping, no fatigue (although with a 3yo and working ft I think I'm just base level tired all the time anyway - but am also probably healthier this time as I'm walking more and don't drink). Literally other than a few days of intense thirst/feeling 'pregnant' (hence why I tested) I wouldn't know I was pregnant!

Anyway, to those talking about feeling mixed emotions - I hear you!!! This was unplanned and a shock but I want another so thought I'd feel happier but have literally spent a week and a half crying. Only getting some clarity on our financial prospects today made me feel better and not totally terrified.

AwkwardPaws27 · 03/07/2019 23:42

Oh mangobutter I hope things work out for you.

pikachu1 · 04/07/2019 06:05

@blondie87

I thought I was the only one who felt that way! Glad I'm not! When I had my miscarriage (right at the time of my 30th birthday) all my friends were just left wondering why I was really sad and had cancelled my birthday celebrations at the last minute. And all I wanted was support and a hug. Had they known, they would have been brilliant as always. So I ended up telling them what had happened after the fact anyway. I was then thinking, why didn't I just tell them when I found out I was pregnant? Not everyone, obv, but a few close friends. So this time that's what I've done. I hope I can continue to keep them updated with good news this time!

pikachu1 · 04/07/2019 06:10

@Roisin86

I am sorry for your losses. I know what you mean about being anxious though, I am constantly checking for signs too - May be too much info but the increased discharge feels so much like it's a period, I go running off to the loo constantly to check. Or I have a quick check to see if my boobs still hurt! If they do, it can't be period! Aargh! I think (hope!) I'll feel better after the 8 or 12 week mark as I had the MC at 7 1/2 weeks.

pikachu1 · 04/07/2019 06:15

@mangobutter

This is my first and desperately wanted baby. I have also been crying a lot! And the mood swings are awful!!! I get annoyed or upset so easily and don't understand why. I waited ages for this baby and finally got a BFP, why am I not bouncing off the walls with joy?! Hormones eh? Who'd have em?! 🤔🤣

blondie87 · 04/07/2019 07:05

It’s a tough lesson to learn isn’t it @RoRosmama and @pikachu1 but hopefully we’ll all have some lovely news to share with everyone in about 7 weeks’ time! I feel so rough this time I’m allowing myself to get a little bit more excited. I still haven really come to terms/ accepted that I am pregnant! I’m due 05/03 @rorosmama.
I’m sorry to hear this is a confusing time for you @mangobutter and I hope you are getting lots of support.
Anyone else feel like they’ve got a cold? So snuffly!
