Realised we need another thread as the other one reached 1000!

Glad to hear scans went well today.

Who else is waiting for their harmony results now? I am hoping to get them in the next few days! But I suspect Friday at the earliest and probably next week Monday! I had the bloods taken for it Thursday morning.

@TTc2019BabyNo1 I'd just go in if it puts your mind at ease why not?
Don't let them make you feel like your being silly or anything

xoxhayleyxox · 12/11/2019 13:10

@TTc2019BabyNo1 I've been in for reduced movements more times than I can remember. He keeps me on my toes! If you're not 100% satisfied I'd definitely go in. It can do no harm and it's important you're happy with baby's movements as you'll only worry otherwise! They'll just hook you up to a CTG and monitor his heart rate etc xx

Funnybunnyfluff · 12/11/2019 13:26

I would agree, my friend went in for reduced movement many times. If your concerned be checked 😁 will stop you worrying xx

starflake · 12/11/2019 14:02

definitely go in for reduced movement, I ended up being induced on dd1 because of rm.....
The last week Im sleeping great thank god, Ive started going to bed an hour later and I think that has made a difference! im more tired when I go to bed so I actually sleep.

Cant believe the babies are going to be arriving next month!! Im due the 24th, xmas eve and hospital told me 2 weeks ago that they will induce me the week before Christmas as they don't want me going over 40 weeks. Its great knowing ill have her home for xmas. My last DD was 10lb 10oz and scans at 32 weeks showed this little girl measuring 4lb 12lb so im showing another large baby! Have another scan in 3 weeks so ill know more then! Had midwife appointment in docs this morning and bump is measuring 2 weeks ahead! Braxton hicks have me doubled up at times and my stretching pains are awful!! Cant wait for this pregnancy to be over haha.
How is everyone else doing? Not long now!!!!

xoxhayleyxox · 12/11/2019 14:16

@starflake my boy was measuring 6lb at 35+3 ... worried he's going to end up a 10lb baby at this rate 😂
Has anyone else NOT experienced braxton hicks? I really want some so I know what other mums are going on about haha!

starflake · 12/11/2019 14:47

@xoxhayleyxox midwife told me at scan to add half pound a week for estimated weight. Although my baby seems to be adding more on than that! Baby only, im not putting on weight which is why im so uncomfortable.
Your not missing much having no Braxton hicks haha. They are not pleasant.

TTc2019BabyNo1 · 12/11/2019 15:59

Do you find out your estimate birth weights at your midwife appointments or only if you’ve gone for extra scans?
I don’t get told anything at my midwife appts lol! I have my 34 week one tomorrow, hopefully she’ll give me more news.
Baby doesn’t feel like she’s going anywhere so I have a horrible feeling this will be a January baby rather than a December baby!
Is everyone feeling the baby is lower down yet? Mines still really high.
Do you know if you get a sweep at 40 weeks or do they wait for you to go over?
X

starflake · 12/11/2019 16:40

@TTc2019BabyNo1 I found out at scans, they are scanning me due to my last dd being big born. Although midwife should measure bump which will give an indicator of size.
Don't let carrying high still let you think you will go late! They can drop instantly and labour begin. Not sure on sweeps, I got them from 38 weeks on dd2

xoxhayleyxox · 12/11/2019 17:11

@TTc2019BabyNo1 I'm having extra growth scans as baby has had so many reduced movements. They tell you their estimated weight on them but you should be able to tell the weight by your midwife doing your fundal height measurement. On the form where they plot your growth of your bump it should correlate to a weight on the right hand side. If any of that makes sense 😂 mines in grams so have to convert it into lbs and oz xx

RLI1105 · 12/11/2019 22:52

I had an extra scan yesterday and left feeling a bit baffled by the whole sizing thing!
At my 12 week scan they found I have a fibroid and at my 20 week scan it had shrunk but they booked me in for a 34 week scan just to check it wouldn't interfere with delivery.
I had it yesterday and the fibroid seems to have vanished which is good and they also did growth measurements on the baby which is according to them measuring 37 weeks - I'm in the 98th centile! My fundal measurements though have been exact for dates and obviously I have a bump but it's not huge. I saw my dad and sister at the weekend and they were saying that they were a bit underwhelmed by it! (Charming 😂!!)

I've seen some people say they're actually not that accurate so I don't really know what to believe!
Has anyone else had a growth scan with a previous baby and found it accurate?

Also I saw someone post on Facebook it's only 43 sleeps until Christmas!! It's getting so close!!!

zaffa · 13/11/2019 14:56

Hi ladies - can I ask about individual measurements at your growth scans? My baby has been measuring around the 95th percentile for weight and head, tummy and femur, but I saw the consultant yesterday and he is sending me for another scan next week (37 weeks) to check the head as it has gone from just under 97th to just over 97th percentile (others remained or dropped slightly). She was around 50-60th percentile at 20 week scan and everything was perfect. He assured me it was just to check the measurements and he isn't concerned about the brain growing too much, but I did way too much googling last night so now I'm really worried - do they look at the brain in the growth scans? Or just measure? I've had two so far and they didn't even mention concern over the head. He kept saying if there was a brain issue then we would have seen it on the scans, but I can't help worry. Has anyone else had measurements where the baby is large all over, as well as large weight?

RLI1105 · 13/11/2019 17:24

@zaffa Hello! I have only had one growth scan and it wasn't really an official one. They just wanted to check my fibroid and while they were there checked the placenta, blood flow and how big baby was. They only measured the tummy though, not the femur or head and from that I was on the 98th centile.
I asked what the comparison was to the 20 week and the sonographer did say that at 20 weeks most babies are nearly the same size. It isn't until the thirds trimester that things start to differ.
Obviously I am no expert, but going from just under just over a centile seems pretty small and if you're Dr is not concerned that it should be nothing. It's good that you're getting another one though. It shows they're keeping an eye on you at the very least! If you've read stuff that concerns you though I would ohone and ask. There's nothing worse than stewing or worrying! Best of luck 😃😄

peasando · 13/11/2019 19:37

@zaffa I had a growth scan on Monday (at 35 weeks) and the head circumference was off the top of the chart! The other measurements were high too (apparently she's weighing over 6lb already) but the head one was easily the highest. I'm not too worried though - I've got a big head, my son has a big head, stands to reason this one will too 😂 The sonographer wasn't worried and said she didn't see any cause for concern.

I also have friends whose growth scans have been way off (my best friend was told she was having a giant baby, she was really stressed about it because she's only tiny, and he came out 6lb7 at full term!) so they really aren't necessarily that accurate. If your doctor's not worried then you should try not to worry too - although I know how hard that is!

Jowd92 · 13/11/2019 19:50

I have had reduced movement on 2 occasions also last one last week when I went into the hospital to be checked over I was put on monitors which showed the tightenings I told them I was having and that's probably why I couldnt feel baby moving because my stomach was just so hard I was on the monitor for 45 mins which the midwife said showed my tightenings and that I have an aggravated uterus has anyone else had this or heard of it I have not heard of it before in any of my previous and the last 2 days again I've been having the tightenings again on and off very strange but there quite painful specialy when having them when walking

zaffa · 13/11/2019 20:48

@peasando @RLI1105 thank you both.

Peas - that is quite reassuring. Neither Sonographer was concerned about the Hc, the second one actually was more interested in the slightly reduced tummy measurement, although she did step out to speak to a colleague about the slight variation and was told it was all normal. I just want the next scan to hurry up now!

Funnybunnyfluff · 14/11/2019 00:58

Does anyone find their babies movement really does hurt their belly?

Mamabear12 · 14/11/2019 07:09

I had a growth scan around 30 weeks and baby was measuring 38 percentile. But I tend to make small babies. At full term with my second he was on the lower side so we had to start in hospital 48 hours to be monitored after birth. Bloods taken often to check blood sugar levels and to make sure breastfeeding was going well. So it’s made me a little nervous w my third. My first was 3 kg and second 2.95 . I’m hoping the third will be 3kg or more. Everyone comments about my small bump (and I mean everyone!). The midwife doesn’t seem concerned. I also had small bumps previous (but put on 23 kgs !). This time around I’ve gained 17kg so far and hoping I don’t gain much more - as I think a lot of it is water retention.

I can’t believe only a month to go! Still have so much to prepare. But I always procrastinate. Doesn’t help that I don’t get good sleep, so I’m tired during the day! Need a surge of energy to finish all my tasks!

@Mamabear12 I totally sympathise! On mat leave now and have lists and lists of things I want to achieve before the baby arrives but have been procrastinating like mad! Need to get on with it 😂

Nervousdave · 14/11/2019 21:03

@Funnybunnyfluff my movements have been so strong the last few weeks that they are often painful and make me gasp! I've worried a couple if people at work with it haha. Cant wait for him to sit a bit lower as the most painful is when hes squirming right under my ribs 🤢

How do you know if you’ve dropped?!

Midwife said baby’s head was engaged a few weeks ago but my belly feels so much heavier these past two days and back ache so wondering if he’s fully dropped now? 2 weeks 5 days to go! Finish work next Wednesday and I am SO ready.

Is it too late to join?
Is it Christmas already? Sad
Pregnant with my second and already had enough

peasando · 16/11/2019 14:02

Feeling very wintery today - we must be close to getting some actual babies on this thread! Who will be first I wonder? 👶🏻

TTc2019BabyNo1 · 16/11/2019 16:28

@bobble53 I would also like to know the answer to that, this is my first so I don’t know what to expect. I’m getting a lot of pressure and it hurts when I sit on a chair for too long, but my mum said I’m carrying high!
I’m not as far along as you though! Not long for you to go!!
My midwife is pretty awful and doesn’t tell me anything, I had to ask if she was head-down!
@Autumntoowet Not too much longer to go, but I’m feeling the same, painful when sitting lying, walking, and I have a horrible feeling she’s going to be late 🙄!
@peasando yess come on first baby on the thread 😃! It definitely won’t be me, I have 5+ weeks to go...

Autumntoowet · 16/11/2019 19:34

@TTc2019BabyNo1mine will be late, like my first.
I am so big Sad
I am in bed having a little rest and dreading having to stand up now Sad
