That's brilliant news @smartcarnotsosmartdriver - how far along had you thought you were?

@BostonFern the baby show sounds dangerous!!

Hope the toddler parties went well @Starrynights86 ... sounds like my worst nightmare (soon to change!!!) 😂

Welcome to the group @ThatsALovelyBush and welcome back @Tilly28

smartcarnotsosmartdriver · 19/05/2019 21:07

@agteacht I thought I was 12+2 the measurements were 12+6 and 13 on the nose so we'll see if the NHS agree when I have my dating scan a week on Tuesday, I should be 13+5 by then so might be 14+2/3? The main thing is she could see all the things she was supposed to see, well apart from their face because they were being awkward. I couldn't believe how much higher up they were looking from my last scan at 9 weeks, part of baby was hidden by my belly button!

Fuiseog · 19/05/2019 21:20

Hello all, just checking in, haven't been on in ages but lovely to read great news from @BostonFern @smartcarnotsmartdriver and @agteacht! Welcome to new people also 😊 Have to be honest that I have found the last few weeks very hard with the nausea and vomiting and the exhaustion and insomnia. Looking forward very much to getting past this trimester! Told my extended family (close relationships, not all the extended family) today though even though I'm still just 9+4, because my granddad has just been diagnosed with cancer and they really needed a lift. It seems to have worked though I'm not confident in their ability to keep quiet about it! Roll on 12 weeks! Still feeling quite anxious about it all at times, so if that continues I would like to get another scan before 12 weeks 🤞

Fuiseog · 19/05/2019 21:23

Oooops, hit post too soon! This stupid phone is too big for my hands! Wanted to say how exciting it is that some people here know and are sharing what sex their baby is! Makes it all the more real and encouraging that the chance to find out the same will come for all of us! I think I'm right in saying only boys so far?! 💙

fonxey · 19/05/2019 21:27

Congrats to those of you who have had scans and thinking of others who have had losses.

I have a cold. It's not a bead one just annoying as i am snotty and can't breath through my nose. I haven't had a child in 3 years. I guess it's due to my lowered immune system all of a sudden and going through Luton airport where people apparently have zero hygeine standards. I found blood (i assume period blood) on the door and god knows what elsewhere.

It started on holiday a week ago and still here. So annoyed. When i was younger colds just got on with it. Now I'm older they hang around for ages.

Anyway i got them to send me a short clip of my baby wiggling in the womb at my private scan. I'm shifted to it!

smartcarnotsosmartdriver · 19/05/2019 21:44

@fonxey that video is amazing, we saw an awesome little dance at our last scan but we didn't get a video, wish I'd known that was a thing! I'll end up having another now.

fonxey · 19/05/2019 21:54

@smartcarnotsosmartdriver she said it wasn't something they usually did, but because i asked she did. Otherwise if have got my oh to film it on his phone!

TDLO · 19/05/2019 22:35

Just catching up with the thread.
I had my reassurance scan Friday, I was measuring 8+3 when I expected 9 but exactly two weeks before I measured 6+3 so midwife told me not to worry. The epas scans aren't as precise as the 12 week scans apparently and it's two weeks growth in two weeks, so spot on. Seen the heartbeat too, that was reassuring.
I'm a logical person and this all makes sense so I don't know why I can't help but worry.... I am slowly driving myself mad.

Had some really low down cramps today which I know is normal too, but every wee thing is making me worry. Roll on 12 weeks lol.

Fuiseog · 20/05/2019 08:40

Two weeks' growth in two weeks sounds perfect, @TDLO! It's all nerve wracking but sounds like things are exactly as they should be in that sense!

I have also had cramping, almost every day since around week 6 I think, and I am 9+5 now. The cramps don't usually last for long, but feel like period pain. Midwife said not to worry at all as it is just the womb stretching in most cases. Again, it can freak me out but I am getting more used to it. It makes me feel better to imagine an elastic band and think of how anything stretching like that has a right to reasonably complain every so often! Trying to keep thinking positively about it all Smile

LovesHisMummyReally · 20/05/2019 10:47

So seems it must have been a combination of very late implantation, FRER actually working for me 5 days before AF was due, and/or scan being imprecise as we have an 8 weeker in there, looking as good as can be. In shock.

AuntieJuice · 20/05/2019 13:23

Hello all! Have been on some of the other December-ey threads but not this official one I don't think, so just showing my face as I'm a bit of a lurker! I'm 10+1 today, but havent had any scans so nothing but dates to go on. 12 week scan scheduled for 5 June when I'll be 12+3. Still feeling sick and at risk of falling asleep if I even get near a sofa. It's been good to read everyone's stories and get a sense of the December crowd in here 😊

JayDot500 · 20/05/2019 13:35

I'm so sorry to see there have been more losses, my heart is with those who have had to bow out of this group and my thoughts are with anyone who is still spotting/cramping/enduring an anxious wait.

I had the smallest bit of blood streaked in my mucus yesterday but nothing else, so I'm going to leave it. I'm trying to distract myself from counting down the days/hours/minutes/breaths until my scan next week. I'm being more productive at work than ever due to it!

And OMG I can't believe you already know the sex @BostonFern that's so awesome?? Smile

11 weeks today. Breasts still aching in the morning but my nausea is definitely calming down! So on quiet lazy days like these, I am at least able to enjoy some good ole comforts Cake Brew

JayDot500 · 20/05/2019 13:37

Welcome @AuntieJuice Smile

The tiredness is getting serious for me too. I've fallen asleep while putting my son to bed for the past three days, without dinner Grin

agteacht · 21/05/2019 00:14

Sorry to hear you're a bit sick @Fuiseog but hopefully it will pass! Lovely that your family are so excited...

I am over home in Ireland when I'm 13 and a half weeks so not telling them until then! My mam was going on today about my cousins who are pregnant... if only she knew!

Fab news about your scans @TDLO - growth sounds perfect to me! - and @LovesHisMummyReally

Welcome @AuntieJuice

What an amazing video @fonxey - I want one now!

@JayDot500 are we EDD twins? I'm 8 December (for now at least!)

agteacht · 21/05/2019 00:15

PS @JayDot500 don't worry too much about the spotting, I am the queen of spotting it seems and so far okay!

agteacht · 21/05/2019 00:22

On a separate note... is anyone planning sun holidays while pregnant?

I'd like to book something but not sure what's suitable or how I'll feel etc...

For those who have had a baby before, what's your experience?

TDLO · 21/05/2019 07:31

@agteacht and @Fuiseog thanks both, think I need a high dose of logic and common sense. Booked a private scan for first June when I'll be 10+4/11 weeks as we want to tell family that weekend as they'll all be together. I just want that final reassurance before making the leap of telling more ppl.

Hope everyone is doing well today?

My god and I thought I was tired before... between yesterday and today, I don't think I have ever felt so tired in my life lol. Felt like I had to push every muscle just to get moving yesterday. Hoping this clears at end of first trimester, which feels excitingly in sight 😊

AuntieJuice · 21/05/2019 07:31

First pregnancy so can't speak from experience, but we're going to the east coast of Spain for two weeks in June when I'll be 14-15 weeks. It's a combo city/beach break but we've already planned for it to be reasonably low key. Can't wait for some sunshine! Are you thinking of going away?

RobinsNest17 · 21/05/2019 07:46

With my son, I went on holiday at 21/22 weeks @agteacht - we went on a Med cruise. Had a great time, although I stayed onboard or returned to the ship early for a few ports while my husband went exploring ashore as the heat was too much for me in July in Italy.

On a completely different note, I had my booking appointment with a midwife yesterday and my carbon monoxide level came out as 7! I haven't smoked for 8 years, so now I'm worried that our boiler is leaking! Hoping to get it checked today, but worried now.

smartcarnotsosmartdriver · 21/05/2019 07:55

Due to forward planning I'll be on 30/31 weeks when we go away however we're only going to Berwick so I'm not too worried and if I struggle getting into my teeny tiny car my mum has offered to drive us. I think it'll be nice but I'm glad I didn't book anything abroad!

codenameduchess · 21/05/2019 08:11

@agteacht I'll be 15/16 weeks when we go to lanzarote in June, never travelled pregnant before but when I was pregnant with dd I was ok doing most things by then... there's a kids club if I need a rest though 😂

LovesHisMummyReally · 21/05/2019 10:44

I went to Spain at around 23 weeks for a 'babymoon' but in April so it wasn't too hot. It was great. I made sure I knew where the local hospital was before arriving just in case. Be careful of the sun is all I would say as you can get permanent marks from sunbathing when preggers.

TDLO · 21/05/2019 11:16

@AuntieJuice , hello and welcome! I can totally share your tiredness just now. Wow!
Hope all is going well x

LovesHisMummyReally · 21/05/2019 11:18

Anyone else getting a maternity swimwear ad popping up on this page now!? Spooky

JayDot500 · 21/05/2019 11:27

@agteacht I've actually got three due dates somehow, 8th, 9th and 10th depending on my LMP, EPU scan or midwife 🤣. The scan next week will produce one date. One date to rule them allll Grin

I'm surprised at how relaxed I am acting since spotting. The fatigue is overwhelming, so my focus is off. With a full on DS to give what's left of me to, I guess it's easier to be distracted this time around.
