@smitch82 ohh bless him hopefully you guys will get to go home soon he's truly beautiful you must be so proud 💙

smartcarnotsosmartdriver · 08/11/2019 16:09

Hope things are going well for you @smitch82 I think a touch of jaundice is pretty normal if they're wee/early. I had to be in a wee fish tank with some light when I put in an early appearance many years ago.

We had our last growth scan today and he's a whopper. 9lb 12oz Confused.

lovebeingmum9 · 08/11/2019 19:48

@smitch82 aw bless....glad hes responding well to the treatment and hope your able to take him home soon!

@smartcarnotsosmartdriver wow is that how much he weighs already or estimated delivery? how many weeks are you now....and when's your induction?

smartcarnotsosmartdriver · 08/11/2019 20:00

@lovebeingmum9 that's him now at 37 weeks. I wasn't offered early induction and waiting until I go over term feels like absolute madness. I've opted for an ELCS which should be in about 2 weeks or so.

codenameduchess · 08/11/2019 20:04

Wow @smartcarnotsosmartdriver !! My hospital says they have a 10-20% margin for estimated weight from scans, even with that you've got a big boy. Don't blame you for ELCS, do you know when you'll be booked in for it?

smartcarnotsosmartdriver · 08/11/2019 20:12

@codenameduchess they've said around 39 weeks but I'm not seeing the consultant again until 38+1 so I don't know if they'll manage to get everything done in time from then. I'll need to have a pre-op appointment the week before. In theory it should be around the 20th but I'm not going to pin my hopes on that just in case.

lovebeingmum9 · 09/11/2019 11:45

@smartcarnotsosmartdriver blimey I'm surprised they wouldn't offer an early induction but would agree to an early c sec....you should have been given the choice and info on both? hopefully you will have your c sec date soon so would put your mind at rest a bit x

smartcarnotsosmartdriver · 09/11/2019 12:12

Yeah @lovebeingmum9 I did bring it up when I spoke to the consultant a couple of weeks ago and she said that there was no evidence that early induction helped with the delivery of big babies.
I explained my concerns and she said that if I would like a section then I could request one. I think it's probably the best thing all round.

lovebeingmum9 · 09/11/2019 14:53

ah yeah well it's good you've had the insight with the growth charts so they have prepared you little and you've got the choice (I didn't and had quite a horrific assisted forcep delivery) BUT...also a beautiful chunky baby! doesn't matter how they arrive, bigger babies are very cuddly though 😊

December2019 · 11/11/2019 07:53

34 weeks today ladies!
Starting to really struggle now and I'm out of breath all the time and my pelvis is killing me... I want this boy out now 😂 I feel like an incubator
How is everyone feeling today?

December2019 · 11/11/2019 07:54

@smitch82 how's that beautiful boy?
How are you feeling x

smartcarnotsosmartdriver · 11/11/2019 08:33

@December2019 same as you pretty much, said to DH last night that he should have me put down, it's the kindest thing to do. I'm approximately the size of a whale, the single place I am half comfortable is the swimming pool so I also smell like a swimming pool half the time.

Jowd92 · 11/11/2019 09:17

@December2019 @smartcarnotsosmartdriver yes I'm also struggling bad just to walk hurts so much I feel so fed up this spd has ruined my experience of this pregnancy never having it before I enjoyed all my others this one I just feel awful and I've had enough already 33 weeks im hoping 5 more weeks and ve induced dont know how much more I can take im only okay when im in the pool having hydrotherapy that once a week is what I wait for lol

codenameduchess · 11/11/2019 21:06

37 weeks today and my pelvic pain is getting ridiculous now! I can barely walk, and foolishly promised DD now I'm not at work she can bike to school all week 🤦‍♀️ also baby is really low, I suspect fairly engaged with the pressure I'm feeling- earlier it moved and I peed, no warning it just happened.

Feeling very ready to have baby here now!

smitch82 · 12/11/2019 22:08

@December2019 we are still in the hospital sadly. He had to go back for further jaundice treatment and then he has had a few further complications due to his prematurity. He was struggling to maintain his temperature and he was not feeding well. He is now much improved but still have to see if he has increased in weight and he has to do a certain type of poo!! You will only talk about poo with your partner for the first week!! 😂

We really hope we can bring him home tomorrow!!! It is our 1st wedding anniversary on Saturday so we would love to be able to celebrate it!!

lovebeingmum9 · 13/11/2019 13:36

Hi all hope everyone is doing well? I'm 37wks +1 today....20 days until due date! some days like today I feel absolutely shattered/exhausted and then others I have lots of energy! oh @smitch82 hope he's doing better now,at least your in the best and safest place to be and hopefully will get the thumbs up for taking him home soon! congrats on your upcoming 1st anniversary....any plans? 😊

Jowd92 · 13/11/2019 14:43

Has anyone had or heard of a aggravated uterus? I went to the hospital a few days ago for reduced movements but was also having tightenings was put on monitors for 45 mins and they said it showed my tightenings and that I have an aggravated uterus and I still keep getting the tightenings just wondered if anyone knows what this means

smitch82 · 13/11/2019 16:26

We are home!!! It is amazing to finally have him here with us and for me to be in my own bed after 11 nights away!

1st anniversary e will be getting a takeaway and having a glass of the expensive wine we brought! I can't wait!! Might even venture to the pub for dinner if he is settling ok!

I thought I was going to be Pregnant for it so the thought of a glass of wine is very exciting x

lazybutton · 13/11/2019 19:31

@smitch82 Wonderful news! Enjoy your evening Smile

@Jowd92 I’ve not heard of it before so quick google. Do you need to monitor them? Did/do you have braxton hicks too?

Jowd92 · 13/11/2019 19:41

@lazybutton the midwife who did my monitoring said they was stronger and more frequent then Braxton hicks but not enough to worry about at the time but she said about it being an aggravated uterus which i have also never heard of she told me to keep an eye on the pains and if they become more stronger and painful to get checked again and I've been having them on and off for the past 2 days again just very strange wondered if anyone else had suffered with it

codenameduchess · 15/11/2019 14:30

How is everyone doing?

I'm 3 days from induction and it's not quite feeling real yet, been getting bad cramps and back ache so hoping that's a good sign that everything is getting ready.

JayDot500 · 15/11/2019 15:41

@codenameduchess wow, three days! It's getting reaaal! I hope everything goes as smoothly as possible for you and baby Smile

I'm officially on Maternity Leave! I could dance in the rain... If it weren't for my SPD. Operation 'tidy the house and get ready' is underway. 3 weeks to go!
