@TDL0 I hope everything went okay for you today x

codenameduchess · 17/05/2019 18:18

Had my dating scan today and they've pulled dates forward by just under a week, 11+4 according to measurements. We saw the little bean jumping about and waving 😍 very reassuring to see how much it's grown from the epu scan at 6 weeks.

Also told dd (3) today, a little underwhelming if I'm honest! She poked my belly and said she wants a girl then skipped off to find a snack. Guess it's a tough concept for a preschooler to understand.

BostonFern · 17/05/2019 18:28

@agteacht I'm so sorry your going through all this stress, rest up lots x

@elephantmarch hope your booking appointment went ok.

@TDLO hope your reassurance scan went well.

@RobinsNest17 sorry to hear your sickness is getting worse.

@codenameduchess so pleased to hear your scan went well. I bet your daughter will get more excited as the weeks go on.

I had another scan today, baby was very lively which made it challenging to get measurements, but was lovely to see him. I still can't believe I can't feel something moving around so much inside me!

What a fab pic @BostonFern ours isn't great as the baby was moving so much! It took ages to get the measurements with all the flips and headstands! When it finally settled it was with its chin tucked right down haha

I think dd will grasp it a bit better when I've got an actual belly or she can feel a kick (hoping it's not another anterior placenta!) as right now December is long way off for a 3 year old.

BostonFern · 17/05/2019 19:12

Thanks- yes, ours was flipping all over the place. I had to go empty my bladder to try and get him to move. Got a good shot of his hand and a close up of his head too:

Wow @bosternfern that’s a baby, with a lovely head and everything! It’s really clear. How exciting

@codenames congratulations on a healthy scan that’s wonderful

@agteacht I’ll be praying all is well for you and you have opportunities to rest this weekend: does anything trigger the bleeding?

Booking appt went well thank you. Lovely midwife. My 3yr old also didn’t have a clue what was happening. I think I might try and wait till 20 weeks till I tell my boys, but other people might know before then so the plan may not work. December is ages away and this 12 week countdown feels like forever!

BostonFern · 17/05/2019 20:40

@elephantmarch it really does look like a baby now, doesn't it! Less like a jelly bean 😂 DP was so excited to see how it's grown (I was impressed too, he's been doing his reading and knew to look out for the nasal bone etc!).
Glad your booking appointment went well, and you've got a nice midwife.

@agteacht I'll be thinking about you. I really really hope that everything's ok, it's such a hard time to get through. Every little niggle is a worry never mind what you're going through!

@BostonFern those are lovely pictures! We have a scan tomorrow so equal parts excited and terrified as I scoff my plethora of pills this evening.

BostonFern · 17/05/2019 21:44

Thanks @smartcarnotsosmartdriver , I think this was the least nervous I've been about a scan- managed to talk to DP in the car on the way there instead of siting in a nervous silence! Hope your scan goes well tomorrow. X

@codenameduchess @PickledEgg89 @BostonFern @elephantmarch @smartcarnotsosmartdriver

Thank you all so much for the good wishes. Had my scan this morning and all was okay!! How I don't know. Baby almost 11w and a heartbeat. I had another big bleed last night so really was not expecting that. They had no reasons for my bleeding. I have the 12w scan in ten days so maybe they will investigate a bit more. But looks like I will have to just get used to bleeding throughout this pregnancy. Brown I can cope with but red and clots is very scary. But thank god my little bean is surviving it ❤️

agteacht · 18/05/2019 11:56

@BostonFern @codenameduchess so glad your scans went well yesterday. What amazing pics @BostonFern !

And your booking appt @elephantmarch

Wishing you well today @smartcarnotsosmartdriver with your scan

@agteacht that's great news!

I had my scan this morning, everything looks fine and just as it should do we're going to start telling people. I have my NHS scan a week on Tuesday for dating. I was measuring near 13 weeks so if they agree my due date night change.

codenameduchess · 18/05/2019 16:18

Great news @smartcarnotsosmartdriver and @agteacht 😀

BostonFern · 18/05/2019 18:36

What fabulous news @agteacht , I'm so happy for you xx

@smartcarnotsosmartdriver great news! Enjoy telling people!

We've been to the Baby Show in Birmingham today, took my mum along and she treated us to a few things. DP has learnt a lot, we can now both tie a sling (and put a doll in one, I'm sure putting a wriggling baby in one will be a different story!), and we have begun to look at prams. It was a good day out, but tiring!

Hope everyone else has had a good Saturday.

Fantastic news @agteacht that’s just brilliant. Glad you and your baby are well

Congratulations &smartcar enjoy sharing the news. Do your close family know yet or will it be a surprise for everyone

&bostern I would be bankrupt if I went there would be too tempting to buy anything cute (and nothing practical) but how lovely of your mum to treat you too, bet it was a lovely day

ThatsALovelyBush · 18/05/2019 20:31

👋🏻

Checking in and introducing myself - I’m roughly 8 weeks, EDD of 23 December. Found out about two hours ago - a good and very welcome surprise!

Has anyone set up a Facebook group up for us yet?

Starrynights86 · 18/05/2019 22:04

@agteacht that’s really fantastic news!

Nine weeks here and feeling a lot better. Had leaving drinks for manager at work on Friday and am normally a big drinker but no one commented that I was on soft drinks, did have the very good excuse of having to attend two toddler birthday parties on Saturday which is something you don’t want to do hungover!

Starrynights86 · 18/05/2019 22:07

Welcome @thatsalovelybush, I’m having a Christmas baby too, edd 21/12 but went late with my first so am convinced baby will come on Christmas Day!

smartcarnotsosmartdriver · 18/05/2019 22:30

Thanks @elephantmarch and @BostonFern my mum and sister know but surprise to everyone else. The scan place we're selling daft wee scratch card things so I got one for my dad, seeing him next Thursday. Saw my two cousins today so I told them, they were really happy for us so it was really fun telling them.

I think DH is in shock a bit lol, but in a good way, we had a MC before so kind of didn't think we would get here.

Tilly28 · 19/05/2019 09:07

Just catching up on the thread. Really sorry to hear about all the losses and bleeding which must be so scary. I’m 10+3 now and still so flipping nauseous. Not had any early scans so feeling pretty nervous about my 12 week one which isn’t until the 4th June when il be 12+5!

smartcarnotsosmartdriver · 19/05/2019 17:18

Good luck @Tilly28 I'm 13+5 when I have my official NHS scan but we couldn't wait so had a private one yesterday.

BostonFern · 19/05/2019 19:57

Congratulations and welcome @ThatsALovelyBush !

@Starrynights86 glad to hear you're starting to feel better.

@smartcarnotsosmartdriver aww, it's so nice to be able to start telling people, isn't it? We told my grandma today, she was over the moon!

@Tilly28 hopefully you'll start to feel better soon, week twelve has been a bit of a turning point for me, less nausea and a bit more energy. Good luck for your scan too!

LovesHisMummyReally · 19/05/2019 20:17

Such good news, @agteacht. If it reassures you, I had bleeding throughout my successful pregnancy which they could never explain but everything was absolutely fine, although of course it was stressful. I think I ended up having a total of 10 scans.

Follow up scan for me tomorrow to confirm if it is growing or not. It has been a long wait. Will report back either way.

agteacht · 19/05/2019 20:57

@LovesHisMummyReally that is definitely reassuring thank you for sharing!! It's a really strange thing as today I'm just ignoring it rather than panicking, I guess the longer it goes on and the more scans you have the more you get comfortable with it. Next week will be my 4th scan 😂
Have said to DH that I want one every two weeks of this continues until I can feel the baby kick 😂

Thank you very much. I hope your scan goes well tomorrow. I have everything crossed for you Thanks
