@bostonfern glad you’re feeling better, what a good husband!

@jaydot I could do with a pillow like that for the kicking alone. I really need to evict him from our bed , I’m far too soft. He comes in at about 11:15 which is just when we’re drifting off and can’t face the battle but I could definitely do with fewer kicks to the stomach too! I’m 11 weeks now and the constant car sick feeling has gone but the miss the comfort of symptoms. I’m so hard to please!!

JayDot500 · 12/05/2019 21:47

@elephantmarch I'm a softie too Blush. DS will g to sleep in his bed but he'll be in mine whatever time he wakes up, and like you I can't wake myself up to bring him back to his bed. His dad welcomes his son into his bed too, which is sweet, but doesn't help... I need to devise a game plan and execute it waay before DecemberGrin

agteacht · 13/05/2019 00:03

Ooh @BostonFern you are so close to that elusive 12w mark now!! What's your EDD, it must be end of November?

@JayDot500 almost scan buddies... googles pregnancy pillow and that looks amazing!! Showed DH but he said it will take over the whole bed!

smartcarnotsosmartdriver · 13/05/2019 08:01

@BostonFern ooh exciting I have my private scan on Saturday, NHS one is the 28th (same as @agteacht). Actually starting to let myself believe that this is probably going to happen!

agteacht · 13/05/2019 09:39

Ooh @smartcarnotsosmartdriver what a day 28th will be!!

elephantmarch · 13/05/2019 10:15

We should write a list of Edds once we’ve all had our scans so we know when everyone’s due.

smartcarnotsosmartdriver · 13/05/2019 10:27

Oh no @elephantmarch then everyone will know I'm an imposter and technically should be on the November board!

peamad · 13/05/2019 10:57

Hi everyone, please may I join? I am 7+3 today and due around 28th December. No sickness for me, but extreme exhaustion and nausea particularly in the afternoon/evening.

I have a wonderful DD who is 2.5 yrs. This is a very anxious pregnancy for me as I lost my second child in January at 21 weeks. I think until I get past that point in this pregnancy it will be very hard to trust that this baby is ok. May I ask if anyone has had any prenatal tests done? We are considering NIPT due to our previous loss, but are struggling to find the money. Any thoughts/advice gratefully received x

elephantmarch · 13/05/2019 13:32

Welcome @peamad nice to have you here. I can understand why you’re anxious but I hope this pregnancy goes smoothly for you. I’ve not suffered a miscarriage so can’t advise but did you self refer or go through a Gp? I wonder if you informed your midwife if they could offer more scans?

@smartcarnotsmart driver we’d definitely need to evict you in that case Wink.

peamad · 13/05/2019 15:20

Thanks @elephantmarch. My midwife is aware, as is the consultant who I saw with my previous pregnancy. Unfortunately I have had mixed messages and now don't know what to do. My consultant had previously told me that i would be able to have extra scans, but when I rang the fetal medicine unit last week they said that i would need to wait until my normal 12 week dating scan. I am so worried that this baby might have the same chromosomal disorder that my son died from :(

RobinsNest17 · 13/05/2019 16:07

@peamad You could asking your GP to refer you to EPAU for an early scan. I have an extensive history of first trimester miscarriages and my new GP was happy to me for reassurance at 7 weeks. I'm not sure if they can identify chromosomal issues with early scans though as it's still so small at that stage.

BostonFern · 13/05/2019 19:09

@agteacht yes, it moved from 2/12 to 26/12, I'm sure it'll move again at the next scan, but based on the latest one I'll be 12 weeks tomorrow.

@elephantmarch Good idea!

@smartcarnotsosmartdriver I'll be an imposter with you 😂

@peamad Welcome! I'm sorry to hear about you loss in January, I can't imagine how hard that must have been or how anxious you must feel now.
We had a NIPT done about ten days ago, I'm older and have anxiety so decided to get it done on that basis. We actually got our results back today (sooner than we expected as the blood wasn't sent off until last Tuesday due to the bank holiday), low risk for everything on the basic Panorama NIPT (less than 1/10,000 or 1/9,000 the lowest risk available on each one), and have found out the gender. We are having a boy 💙

Congrats @BostonFern that's great news! And congrats that it's a boy.

BostonFern · 13/05/2019 19:54

Thank you @smartcarnotsosmartdriver

Welcome @peamad
That sounds horrendously difficult for you. I don't know anything about how chromosomal disorders are picked up but if it's through scans then I completely agree with everyone else that you should push your GP or midwife or consultant for this. Explain it is creating anxiety for you too.

@smartcarnotsosmartdriver @BostonFern what?? Two November imposters??!! 😂

That's amazing news about your panorama test @BostonFern. I am going to have that or harmony done though I don't think it will be until about week 14. Hopefully I won't regret doing it then. What age are you can I ask? I'm 36 so getting on a bit to be having my first!!! And congrats on finding out it's a boy! We haven't decided yet if we will find out.

SunStruck · 14/05/2019 05:22

Congratulations @BostonFern ! 😄

I am going for my second scan tomorrow (I'll be 10 weeks on Friday). My DH hasn't been for a scan with me yet, I went first time at 5weeks 6 days! I'm also older at 35 and this is my first so need reassurance. Fingers crossed all still well (I saw a heartbeat last time).

I'm doing the Harmony test in 2 weeks time too! Your results were great @BostonFern!

codenameduchess · 14/05/2019 06:09

Welcome @peamad if your concerned you could ask if your midwife/gp will refer you for an early scan, however I don't think they'd be able to see much in terms of chromosomal abnormalities this early with baby being so tiny. Have you thought about NIPT testing?

BostonFern · 14/05/2019 06:51

Thanks @agteacht , I'm 35 so also aware that age probably wouldn't have been in my favour with the NHS combined results.

Thanks @SunStruck and I hope you and your DH enjoy your scan today- my DP was so excited when he saw our little one kicking away during the last scan!

Hi ladies, not sure if it is just an area thing, but where I have my 12 week NHS scan, they obviously check for any markers for Downs etc, and if the scan leans towards it, the NIPT (Harmony in this case) is offered for free/NHS immediately. It is very expensive, so this may help someone!

cadihaf · 14/05/2019 21:10

Found you :-)

Was meant to be booking in today but postponed as my midwife was called to a home birth.

I’m 9+3 and thought the nausea was getting better - not a bad day yesterday. But at a funeral this afternoon I was heaving and sweating during the 3rd hymn and sitting too far forward to make a discreet exit Envy

My scan date is 3rd June, feels like ages away!

MinnieLou · 15/05/2019 07:45

Hi all,
Haven't been on for a while, apologies I haven't been able to catch up with all the messages.

I had a private scan Saturday for reassurance. Was dated 9wks+5 strong heartbeat and everything okay, even had baby waving!

That makes me 10+2 today, due date 9th December, two weeks until 12wk scan on the 29th! (Seems so far away!) started suffering migraines again (I used to) so spent the day at the doctors yesterday which they've given me codeine to be flexible with when needed. Still have an awful cold lingering at the moment & dry cough 😩

Hope everyone is ok xx

PickledEgg89 · 15/05/2019 08:48

Hello I found you all!!
How is everyone doing? 8+5 today. Still suffering with hg but meds are helping keep it at bay.
I had my booking in appointment with the midwife on Monday, an hour and a half it took!! This is definitely our last baby, so much paperwork and trying to remember dates, weights, gestations, names 😂 it's all too much haha! I've been referred to the home birth team as that is the plan again this time. Is anyone else considering a home birth?
Hoping to get a date for 12 week scan soon, she said I should receive one by 10 weeks. Can't believe some are almost 12 weeks already!
Have a lovely day all xx,

peamad · 15/05/2019 09:41

Congrats @BostonFern! May I ask why you chose the Panorama test over others? I have done some research into them but there is mixed evidence about their accuracy for the chromosomal disorder which my son had, so I am not sure it would help us.

@PickledEgg89 I am hoping for a home birth. Is it easy to access where you are? I tried for a home birth with my first child and hired an independent midwife with my second to support our home birth plans. Unfortunately neither worked out, but I am still planning to try again for a home birth this time, assuming all goes well with the pregnancy.

PickledEgg89 · 15/05/2019 09:55

@peamad I had a home birth with my #3 with no problems at all. I brought it up early on but it wasn't really discussed until past 30 weeks. We've actually relocated since then (moved from Northern Scotland to the south of England) and I wasn't sure how things would be down here but the midwife said I will just be referred to the home birth team who will do all my appointments from now in which is fab and means I will get to know them all. I got really lucky with my last, there was a team of about 12 midwifes that were on a rota and I just so happened to get my own community midwife when I went in to labour.
I hope they make it simple enough to put plans in place this time for you, it's definitely something that should be available to all without having to go private x

peamad · 15/05/2019 10:02

@PickledEgg89 unfortunately I will probably need to go private this time as I had a cesarean with my first and the NHS home birth team where I live are against supporting mothers with previous CS.
