@BostonFern thanks so much - unfortunately the baby he stopped growing a week ago 😢 so I'll bow out for now.

Wish all of you a happy and healthy pregnancy! Xxx

peamad · 15/05/2019 10:12

Oh no @sunstruck, i'm so so sorry xx

PickledEgg89 · 15/05/2019 13:00

@sunstruck I'm so so sorry Sad take care of yourself x

PickledEgg89 · 15/05/2019 13:02

@peamad are you on any of the big home birth Facebook groups? If not it may be worth a join. I've seen lots of ladies go on to have successful vbacs at home. It sucks that they won't support you in your decision!

peamad · 15/05/2019 14:43

@PickledEgg89 yes I am, there is a wonderful one here in Leeds which also meets up once a month to share advice/experiences.

I'm feeling relieved today as I got a phone call out of the blue offering me an NHS appointment on tuesday for genetic testing, which should hopefully tell me whether this baby is likely to have the same condition my son died from.

BostonFern · 15/05/2019 16:40

@SunStruck I am so sorry to hear that. Take care of yourself xx

Thank you @peamad It seems it's Panorama or Harmony around here, and based on the information I had we decided to go for the Panorama test as it seems more sensitive (and a lower false positive rate) than the Harmony for all but Turner syndrome. Plus you can get the test done at 9 weeks rather then 10, so I think it needs a lower feral fraction in the maternal blood.

@cadihaf I was fooled into thinking things were improving towards the end of week 9, then week 10 was the worst week I've had so far! 😭

@MinnieLou sorry to hear you've been getting migraines. Hope the codeine helps (you might find it helps the cough when you take it for your migraines, it often suppressed coughs).

@PickledEgg89 My booking appointment took about an hour and a half too- I suppose it's good they're so thorough and ask so many questions! A home birth sounds great!

@SunStruck so sorry to hear your news. Take all the time you need x

TDLO · 15/05/2019 18:38

@PickledEgg89 I also had my booking appt today, took about the same. The notes are all online though which is great as I've heard of people having to car them all around.

It's feeling real now, just hoping reassurance scan on Friday is ok and the small hematome is gone. 🤞🏻

PickledEgg89 · 15/05/2019 22:21

@peamad I'm so sorry to hear about your son. That's great that they are getting you in for an appointment x

@TDLO I'm very jealous of your digital notes! I imagine that will make things easier. Mines are just paper!

elephantmarch · 16/05/2019 09:23

@Sunstruck oh I’m sorry. That’s devastating. I hope you can rest well and good luck in the future. I feel this thread has had too many losses, just shows what a delicate time first trimester is.

I’m getting nervous as my sickness has stopped and my boobs are fine. I’m 12 weeks on Sunday so hoping it’s just a trimester thing and not sad news but I won’t know until this long awaited scan

@TDLO is that a London hospital? I’m wondering how I can get my notes from last birth (which went a bit tits up) and digital would be great.

@peamad im glad you’re being offered a test hopefully that will give you reassurance

Booking appt tomorrow. I’m going to ask about an elective but I know they are quite reluctant to offer it. I’ve had two births in theatre (one emergency one utensils) and both for the same reason so hopefully the third time they’ll go straight for the sun roof

smartcarnotsosmartdriver · 16/05/2019 09:36

@SunStruck I'm so sorry to hear that, look after yourself.

So many of us at/near 12 weeks! I'm 12 today but scan on Saturday, I hope I can relax a little after that. I have a couple of close friends that I don't get to see often that I'm telling tonight but with the caveat that I haven't had my scan so keep shtum until then I just wanted to tell them in person.

agteacht · 16/05/2019 18:11

I'm so sorry @SunStruck
Hope everyone else is doing okay.

I'm okay outside of exhaustion. Has anyone else had bleeding gums???

RobinsNest17 · 16/05/2019 18:38

I'm sorry for your loss @SunStruck

RobinsNest17 · 16/05/2019 18:41

Has anyone found their sickness got worse as they went on, rather than lessening? Mine is totally different to all my other pregnancies (miscarriages and the successful one)- it started super early at 4 weeks and has got stronger and stronger to the point that today (9+4) I can't keep any food down. This is so much worse than ever before and I was hoping it would be winding down now, not getting worse!

PickledEgg89 · 16/05/2019 19:10

@RobinsNest17 I suffer with hyperemesis so it definitely gets worse before it gets better in my case. I seeked help ASAP this time around so medication is helping keep it at bay. If you are really struggling then don't be scared to ask for help. Do you think it could be hg? Last time for me I hit my worst at 12 weeks and that's when I was admitted to hospital and given stronger medication. Take care of yourself, I can totally sympathise x

smartcarnotsosmartdriver · 16/05/2019 23:26

Soluble aspirin has begun in earnest, fairly low dose so not as awful as I thought but a bloody faff.

agteacht · 17/05/2019 07:35

Definitely spoke too soon yesterday.
Had very sudden bleed, dark red, cramps. It has slowed over night but is like AF. Am going to the EPU this morning. Sigh. Nearly 11w so thought I was close to out of the woods by now. Will let you all know the outcome.

smartcarnotsosmartdriver · 17/05/2019 07:48

Oh no @agteacht I have everything crossed for you.

TDLO · 17/05/2019 08:39

@agteacht keeping everything crossed for you for good news x

@elephantmarch no it's a Scottish midwife office, think maybe they're running a trial, or it's a new thing, I'm not quite sure. I was well impressed. Got an app where all my blood results etc will populate.

Got my reassurance scan today, hoping the hematoma has been re-absorbed and everything is well. Really nervous, can't sit still.

Hope everyone else is hanging in there x

RobinsNest17 · 17/05/2019 10:01

Keeping fingers crossed for you @agteacht

@PickledEgg89 Thank you. I managed to keep a small amount of food down last night and a bit of dry cereal this morning so I don't think it's as serious as HG. At least not at the moment. Does the anti sickness medication make you drowsy? I used to be on some years ago for vertigo-induced sickness and it always made me sleepy, so I'd be anxious about it now as I have a 17mo to look after.

PickledEgg89 · 17/05/2019 10:15

@RobinsNest17 no I don't feel drowsy after mine, I take cyclizine and ondansetron. I know for cyclizine it's a possible side effect but I've never had it. There are a few different options of meds though so it could be trying a few to find the right one for you. I also have a 17mo to look after (and 2 school aged😴) so know how you feel. Hopefully we both perk up soon!

agteacht · 17/05/2019 11:21

Thank you all

Hope your reassurance scan goes okay @TDLO

Complete mess-up, arrived at EPU to be told they didn't have my appointment, they eventually realised it was their mistake but said no spare scan slots today. So frustrating. Have to go back tomorrow morning.

Looked for a private scan but all booked up today and I guess it's EPU I need anyway due to the bleeding. It has slowed a lot which is making me feel a bit better but yesterday was frightening and definitely not normal or spotting - a full bleed.

Going to lie down for most of the day and hope some bed rest helps.

codenameduchess · 17/05/2019 11:54

@agteacht I'm so sorry, you must be so worried and now having to wait another day x

PickledEgg89 · 17/05/2019 17:56

Oh @agteacht that's rubbish about not getting seen today but so glad you can get seen tomorrow morning. I hope everything is okay and you've taken it easy for the rest of the day x
