Oh no @happydays00 that's NOT the way to spend a sunny bank holiday weekend!!! Hopefully you will all feel better very soon indeed

Hsunshine · 21/04/2019 10:22

My pram decision was made very easy for me by what fitted in my car with the wheels on. Even with a big boot most still didn’t fit

TwittleBee · 21/04/2019 11:13

Oh those are gorgeous Florencenotflo and love a small hand made business too. Bit obsessed with them thanks to insta!

Oh my that's an awful long weekend happydays00 !! Really hope you all gully recover asap and get to enjoy the next spell of sun!

TwittleBee · 21/04/2019 11:14

We've decided just to stick with the 2 prams we have already, Silver Cross Pioneer (which I like for newborns) and our Maxi Cosi Elea (which I like for post 6 months). Both fit into the back of my micra! But now we have a C Max, boot space certainly isn't an issue.

Megan2018 · 21/04/2019 13:54

DH reckons most pushchairs will fit in my boot if we remove parcel shelf (it has privacy glass) so that might help! We will go looking in May after scan.

Tefiti2 · 21/04/2019 16:50

We have gone for a Bugaboo Buffalo, it was between that and Joolz Geo but I didn’t like how slumped I’ve seen babies look in the seat in the Geo! It’s such a hard decision!

happydays00 · 21/04/2019 17:42

Thanks @TwittleBee , @DustyDoorframes and @IVEgottheDECAF . I still can't keep any food down but have managed some fluids so I'm just praying I improve overnight so I don't end up back in hospital tomorrow! It's been a disastrous Easter and we had so many nice plans!

As for prams - I'm sticking with the bugaboo chameleon that we had for DD and hoping she'll be happy with a buggy board. I found that when she was 8 months+ we hardly ever used the bugaboo and got a stroller instead. This was partly because we were flying a lot but also because I got sick of cramming it into the boot of the MINI. Most of my friends have done the same though so maybe something to bear in mind before you shell out a lot of £££ on a pram.

One of my friends is expecting her first in August and is getting three prams 😂 1 brand new travel system type one, 1 second hand one for down by the horses / walking dogs and a stroller for when their baby is a bit older. So it really is a very individual thing it seems!!

IVEgottheDECAF · 21/04/2019 17:51

Aldis baby event is now online although some items are in store only

ALSO Asda have the Perfect Prep down to £60, i think this is as cheap as it goes. Seems to be available in black through the George website, and it white on normal grocery shopping

BBell2 · 21/04/2019 19:42

Will be doing the same as @happydays00 re prams. Bugaboo cameleon (it was an expensive second hand with Ltd. EDT. Fabric pack) want my moneys worth but it is a bit crap off road so use a sling then carrier more as I did first time. Then into a silver cross buggy, we have a nice one only recently bought for DD and it has a newborn pack and fully reclines will probably use it from 6mnths. It's hard to go back to a big system from a lovely slim fold up.

Had a nice sunny weekend here, loads of family round, but I'm having to lay down I'm so sore in my belly, probably wind Blush OH had a big fire job and has been out working most of the weekend so I might have done too much of the heavy lifting too!

IVEgottheDECAF · 21/04/2019 19:49

bbell i find i get quite achey in my bump if i do too much!

Ordered my prep! Asda also have 10 packs of vests for £8.50 which is quite good value so i got some of them and a pack of 10 bibs that i had with dc4, they are a nice size and waterproof back for £3ish

Twilam · 21/04/2019 20:01

Perfect prep - question ladies.... how do you know if you’ll need one? I’m hoping to breastfeed feed (my first due in September) so would I need heaps of bottles and devices do you think? I’ve no idea. Have a John Lewis nursery appointment booked tomorrow so might find a bit more out but appreciate your views :)

Stroan · 21/04/2019 20:04

I'm also re-using our Bugaboo Chameleon. Bought specifically because a friend used hers continuously for 7 years and it lasted well, so can't justify a new one! Would love a bugaboo fox though.

I totally go against the trend with strollers though. Absolutely hate them. I can push a bugaboo with a 3 year old in it one handed. Can barely push the stupid stroller at all.

I've just been teaching DD to do the twist, I'm going to regret that tomorrow!

I wont be making any attempt with bf, used the prep with dc4 and it was a life saver. I definitely need one for dc5.

If your planning on bf then i probably wouldnt buy one in advance

IVEgottheDECAF · 21/04/2019 20:07

stroan i much prefer a pushchair with a bar handle than two separate handles like on an umbrella fold pushchair because i like to be able to go one handed!

TwittleBee · 21/04/2019 20:23

Twilam hold off buying anything, even BFing stuff until you know either way how it all goes. You can always easily get stuff when you find you do need something. Stuff is always on offer, even the perfect prep.

Megan2018 · 21/04/2019 20:29

@Twilam
I’m not buying any bottles or a prep until I’ve given BF a try.

Easy to pick up later if you need them. If we move to FF I’ll get a perfect prep though for definite!
Only thing I am getting in advance are a couple of packs of the pre-made starter bottles as we live in the arse end of nowhere with no 24/7 shopping provision. That way if BF fails I have a back up.

Twilam · 21/04/2019 20:35

Thank you ladies :)

Stroan · 21/04/2019 20:40

@twilam I echo what Twittlebee said. I didn't want anything in my house for bottle-feeding as I felt it would make it easy to give up BF.

Perfect prep is always on offer somewhere and easy to get your hands on. And ready made milk would see you through the few days you might wait for a PP to be delivered.

TheCraicDealer · 21/04/2019 20:54

I'll get a few of the small readymade formula bottles to keep in the house, then if BF doesn't work they'll keep me going until I take delivery of a Perfect Prep- I'll probably know what way the wind's blowing by the time I'm out of hospital or soon after.

I was lifted my 18mo DNeice a few times today and now my lower back feels twitchy AF Envy

BBell2 · 21/04/2019 21:32

I'm sure most baby events are repeated April and October, were the year I had DD. The offers will roll round again not long after the babies arrive if you are in two minds over bottle/bf purchases.

Whisky2014 · 21/04/2019 21:59

I've just gone through the aldi event and honestly there's nothing I want to buy. I just went through the whole thing like "I dont need that".
Maybe the dinosaur sleepsuits and babygrows because, well, dinosaurs. But the rest...not fussed. I think it's easy to get suckered in to thinking you need to buy all this stuff, and really, you just don't!

IVEgottheDECAF · 21/04/2019 22:07

whisky i put two items in my aldi basket online, one was a toddler knife and fork set for dc4 and the other the dinosaur sleepsuits! Then i decided no point paying delivery for just that and ill look in store on thur!

Stroan · 21/04/2019 22:13

Another event with waiting for is the Amazon Prime Day. We got loads of our big purchases that day, I think it was summer time? Video monitor, baby Bjorn carrier, Medela breast pump and a few other bits.

They normally do a free trial of prime before the day itself so you don't necessarily have to be a member.

Im never that bothered about baby events, it's rarely that much of a bargain and they seem.to be on all the time anyway! I think Aldi is.unique because they don't sell that stuff constantly.

Whisky2014 · 21/04/2019 22:14

Hehe I love dinosaurs so quite happy to buy anything dinosaur related! But I may just look in store tomorrow since I'm off. Then at least I can see the quality of it all.

IVEgottheDECAF · 21/04/2019 22:21

Not in store til thurs i dont think whisky
