They are pretty strong, DH has felt them already and I can usually see a proper kick and jab push my belly out.

But, I have noticed just now that I'm being kicked on the opposite side and I know that's the side my placenta is laying... so now I wonder if its just that muffling the kicks

Whisky2014 · 20/04/2019 21:10

Oh right wow. My kicks dont come through yet. I can feel from inside but not outside. When are you due again? I'm 21.5 weeks. Was hoping husband would feel them soon

Yes very possibly placenta muffling the kicks.

TwittleBee · 20/04/2019 21:13

I'm only 19 weeks, so very early for such strong! Felt DS' movements super early too.

IVEgottheDECAF · 20/04/2019 21:36

I think it is phone about changes in movement after 24 weeks isnt it? Although i know it can be worrying baby is probably just lay a different way!

When i had my scan baby was all over the place but i barely felt a thing!

Megan2018 · 20/04/2019 22:23

They told me to only monitor movements after 24 weeks. I’ve still felt nothing! Blush at 19+2. I still don’t believe there’s anything in there.

TwittleBee · 21/04/2019 06:03

Ah my MW told me to monitor and ring as soon as I start feeling them, which I questioned as surely so many don't feel anything yet!

He's yet to move this morning.

TwittleBee · 21/04/2019 06:30

Ah just felt him move after his big brother decided to come lay on my belly. Phew

GemmaJen · 21/04/2019 06:37

@TwittleBee that's a relief, it's just one worry after another with this pregnancy lark, isn't it? I definitely start to get nervous if I haven't felt anything for a few hours.

TwittleBee · 21/04/2019 07:58

Yeah everything is such a worry and I know it doesn't change even once they're here as DS always worries me haha.

Stroan · 21/04/2019 08:05

Lack of movements (once they've started!) Is such a worry. Glad you've felt him move now.

I've only felt some wriggles, but hadn't felt any for a few days. Just as I was starting to panic, I got a tiny little pop. Totally different to DD who moved violently! I occasionally got bruises and people could see the kicks through my clothes. I wonder if my placenta is in a different place this time, will find out tomorrow.

It's been such a lovely weekend, life seems a little easier in the sun. And parenting a toddler is easier when you can Chuck them in the garden. This is as hot as I can handle though, no hotter this year please!

Phew, good nights sleep here last night, I felt rotten yesterday. Have a really sore throat but am convinced it is hayfever (I usually suffer terribly). Took some paracetamol when I went to bed and big improvement. I was outside all day yesterday so not surprised.
Going to have to ask GP at some point what I can have- she said she’d prescribe me something if I really need it. Non pregnant I take tablets, eye drops and nasal spray for 8 months a year!

IVEgottheDECAF · 21/04/2019 08:20

My gp refused to prescribe me anything in my last pregnancy! And the pharmacy wouldnt sell me anything said go to your gp!

Megan2018 · 21/04/2019 08:27

Ahh that sucks @

I had to see GP to get referred to midwife and she specifically said that I should not take any of my usual items but that if I really need it there is a spray that she is happy to prescribe in pregnancy. Definitely no tablets though. But she said my symptoms might be less severe than usual (and they have been better so far), so to only ask when definitely need it.
She was very helpful though, she was in her first month back at work following mat leave as an older first time mum. She’s an ally!

TwittleBee · 21/04/2019 08:27

Yeah I didn't have any luck with antihistamines last time round! Not even whilst I was BFing. But I don't suffer terribly (luckily). Hope you manage to get something.

Megan2018 · 21/04/2019 08:27

Sorry @IVEgottheDECAF
Tagging fail!

IVEgottheDECAF · 21/04/2019 08:28

My gp is pretty crap and the only one in the surgery. I should really move.
I am very sneezy but my eyes are fine so i can cope

Florencenotflo · 21/04/2019 08:31

@TwittleBee baby moves here when ever Dd gives it a good shove! 😂

If anyone is stuck for boys clothes, my friend makes lovely clothes for boys and girls. She's on maternity leave at the moment but will be back in a few weeks. If you wanted to follow her on Instagram she follows lots of other people that make beautiful clothes as well. If you google Dougies Threads you'll find her. She makes leggings, rompers, all in one shorties, tops etc. I've bought Dd some brilliant stuff, if I can work out how to blank her face out I'll post some pics!

Florencenotflo · 21/04/2019 08:39

The fox one she made as a present for a friend. The others are all Dd. I've got loads from her, it's a bit addictive 😊

Anyone else really struggling to choose a pram?

Florencenotflo · 21/04/2019 09:06

I want the armadillo flip XT @IVEgottheDECAF . Unfortunately we have a whole pram/travel system from Dd (Silver Cross Pioneer) which I wouldn't get loads of money for if I was to sell it, so I can't justify buying something else.

I struggled to choose though and in hindsight wish I'd spent longer deciding. I liked the uppababy vista but it is huge. Despite having a big car, it's surprising how much room they take up. My SC is smaller than the vista but took up a lot of room. We went to Cornwall for a week when Dd was 6 weeks old, there was not a spare inch of space left in the boot/back seat!

Maybe write a list of what you want (big basket, compact fold, converts to a double?) and take your list somewhere like John Lewis and get their advice?

TheCraicDealer · 21/04/2019 09:07

Florencenotflo your friend is so talented! I love the panda dungers! 🐼

If anyone is looking at a BabyStyle Oyster bundle, they've just withdrawn their car seat base from sale and told people to stop using it after the car seat came away during a Which? crash test. BabyStyle seem to be handling it really well but from the comments on their Facebook page it seems some people are getting mixed messages from bigger retailers like mothercare.

happydays00 · 21/04/2019 09:13

@Florencenotflo these are so cute! Hopefully will find out gender on Thursday and if all ok, will start looking at

happydays00 · 21/04/2019 09:18

Posted too soon, obviously 🤦🏼‍♀️

@TwittleBee - hopefully you will feel regular movements soon but I've always been told not to call until 24 weeks as unusual to have any sort of pattern established before then.

We're having an awful Easter weekend here - I came down with a sickness bug on Thursday night and by Friday afternoon had to be admitted for IV fluids. DD inevitably picked up the bug by Friday morning and DH last night. I was also diagnosed a UTI so feeling incredibly weak today still!

Hope everyone else is having a better Easter weekend than us!

IVEgottheDECAF · 21/04/2019 09:21

Oh no happydays sorry you are all unwell!

Dc have all scoffed some chocolate eggs here and are now curled up watching paw patrol (including 11 year old Wink )
