Nice new thread to get started on.
I'm enjoying the changing bag discussion - I always try to carry as little as possible so have always avoided a bag with babies and used the storage under the pram but it probably is time to get a bag and I quite fancy the idea of a backpack. I am daydreaming that after the baby is born I'll be wearing sweatshirts and high waisted jeans with some stylish trainers while doing the school run and lots of pram strolling so a backpack would fit that narrative nicely. Whether that will be the reality of it is of course to be seen!
Maternity bra-wise, I got 2 seamless t'shirt bras from M&S at Christmas time and they are very comfortable, although I could probably size up shortly as they don't fit as snugly as before.
For anyone who remembers, I got the results about the lump on my leg after my ultrasound. The radiologist said she could only think to call it a fat necrosis and couldn't explain why it was getting bigger or turning blue. I'm just very relieved it's not DVT or something serious.
How are people getting on with eating? I've really lost my appetite so wondering if anyone else is the same?

Moraxella · 28/03/2019 20:43

£4 primarni sports bras/croptop things. Can’t find any bras to fit me normally (is it normal for every bra in m&s not to fit- maybe there’s something wrong wth me) so definitely can’t be bothered now.

No changing bag for me, but mini might get my beloved kanken backpack so I can guilt free get a new one 😎

Still vomming but only when I think of certain food. Just have chest pain with reflux that radiates to my jaw all blooody day. Really distracting and can’t get anything done

DustyDoorframes · 28/03/2019 20:48

@BBell2 September is always a bumper month on the maternity ward!

Moraxella · 28/03/2019 20:59

@DustyDoorframes oh god do you work there too 🙈

DustyDoorframes · 28/03/2019 21:03

Haha no @Moraxella but having been pregnant in September before the poor midwives are always a bit pale at the routine appointments...

IVEgottheDECAF · 28/03/2019 21:16

When i had my January born baby there were 8 other ladies on the labour ward at the same time as me.

When i had my October baby i was one of two!

IVEgottheDECAF · 28/03/2019 21:18

Just noticed the august group are less than 400 posts in to thread 5!

Fortheloveofscience · 28/03/2019 21:18

Found out today that PIL have booked a 2 week holiday so they’re away the week before and week after my due date. They haven’t been hugely interested, but I find it slightly odd behavior when it’s their first GC. Are anyone else’s parents completely uninterested?

DustyDoorframes · 28/03/2019 21:25

Haha @Fortheloveofscience my mum was a bit like that with my sister's (first GC). My DN now lives with my mum part of the week, and she's about as hands on and doting as any granny could possibly be...

StarLight10 · 28/03/2019 21:49

Just checking in! Thread 5 already!

Think I'm getting a Tiba and Marl backpack style bag this time. I've been lusting over them for ages so now I have an excuse Grin

All I can say about bright bugaboo hoods, do not get yellow! Worst mistake I ever made. The insects and bees loved it, had to buy a mosquito net for the pram in the end Blush

TheCraicDealer · 28/03/2019 21:57

Thank you StarLight10, we would never have thought of that! We'll steer clear of the yellow then. There's a neon red which I'm also partial to; wonder if that would have a similar effect? It might look like a giant satsuma Hmm

Cheekychimp1 · 28/03/2019 21:59

@fortheloveofscience
My mums interested but she booked a holiday before I told her my news. So now it will literally be me and partner struggling on own for a week. Argh! I’m sure we will be ok? Blush

Has anyone booked in for the John Lewis walk around with a nanny? Sounds quite good and you get a goody bag! I’ve booked in for the mamas and papas talk x

IVEgottheDECAF · 28/03/2019 22:00

I could so be one of these people who walks around shops and tells you the bad and good baby stuff! How do i get that job!?

Cheekychimp1 · 29/03/2019 06:12

Does anyone know Layla’s profile pic on FB?! Type the name in and so many come up! Can someone give us a clue Wink

kyles101 · 29/03/2019 06:47

@StarLight10 we got the yellow 🤦‍♀️

StarLight10 · 29/03/2019 06:55

@kyles101 ah... well, it looks very lovely! Grin

boodles101 · 29/03/2019 07:00

cheekychimp it's Leyla Preston, her pic if of her wearing sunglasses with 2 children.

jazzyjellybeans · 29/03/2019 07:02

@Cheekychimp1 it's Leyla Preston. Profile pic is Leyla with her two little boys carrying balloon swords

Cheekychimp1 · 29/03/2019 07:06

Thanks both! Will give it another go now..

Stroan · 29/03/2019 07:36

Oops, sorry, I got the name wrong. I'm not actually on the group so should have left it to someone who is 🙈

Hahaha kyles101 don't worry, sure you can get a spare for the summer! I'll be very cheerful in the colder months and sure it means your DP can pick you and the pram out of a crowd! DSis still resents me for dumping the platinum blond hair for this very reason Grin

Speaking of changing bags, Sophie Allport (she of kitsch print and kitchen stuff fame) has some new faux leather ones out which convert from a shoulder bag to a backpack. There's a grey with an elephant lining and black with her bee print. I love bees but I don't want a black bag!

AnnieAR · 29/03/2019 10:19

I know it's a change of topic but does anyone else on here have rhesus d- blood type? I'm O- and have my first anti-d injection booked for 30 weeks but can't seem to find many others who are similar...

BBell2 · 29/03/2019 10:32

@Fortheloveofscience my inlaws did similar first time, I thought they wouldn't be interested (3rd GC and definitely still not the favored one) , , I went two weeks over and they turned up at the hospital with my parents (it was a bit overwhelming) and stayed at our house all day a few days later! came endlessly and were a little overbearing. I find them a bit much but DD adores them, grandparents seem to never turn out exactly as you expect.

BBell2 · 29/03/2019 11:06

On changing bags OH will go mad, we have two storksaks, but I still use the tote loads, like for a night at my mums or a long day out...but if anyone wants to buy us something for DC2 its a back-pack changing bag. I dont remember then being a thing three years ago, only one of my friends, obviously the most sensible one! had one and she still uses it. I regularly had DD in a sling for dog walks with nappies, dummies, toys in my pocket and shoulder bag left in the car. If anyone gets one would love to see pictures!

AnnieAR · 29/03/2019 11:12

@BBell2 I ordered my backpack changing bag last night - hopefully arriving tuesday or wednesday next week!
