Is anyone else suffering from insomnia? For the last 3 weeks I've been waking up at stupid o'clock feeling wide awake and can't get back to sleep, it's so annoying! Normally I fall asleep fine but wake up around 3am. Last night I didn't fall asleep til 5am, it was horrible! Not the best when you have to look after a hyper screaming 18 month old the next day Confused

Babybee88 · 26/01/2019 19:26

And by normally I mean normally in this pregnancy - when not pregnant I fall asleep straight away and stay asleep til it's time to get up.

KLane · 26/01/2019 19:41

@Babybee88 Yes, so much insomnia! I fall asleep just fine, but wake up around 2-3 and it takes me ages to get back. Some of it is waking up with a full bladder, but not always. In the last week, I've been napping when my 20 month old naps 🙈

MyBreadIsEggy · 26/01/2019 19:49

I’m permanently plagued by insomnia....but the cause is definitely not pregnancy. It’s the 2yo who doesn’t sleep for more than 3 hours at a time Hmm

stroan · 26/01/2019 19:51

@mybreadiseggy I feel so much more awful Than with DD that I can’t help think it might be a boy this time. But friends have had identical pregnancies and different sex babies so it’s probably all in my head!

DH has had an “upset tummy” today. Which had mostly involved lots of moaning and groaning and watching sport. Have had to bite my tongue a million times to not remind him that’s how I’ve felt for 3 weeks!

iano · 26/01/2019 20:23

Is anyone getting a very 'hungry' feeling just after they have eaten. I feel like I'm starving 30mins after every meal. Before I eat I feel no hunger whatsoever and force myself to eat. It's all very strange....

MyBreadIsEggy · 26/01/2019 20:25

iano yes!
I feel sick all the time....unless I’m eating.
I have to force myself to eat, but once I get going I don’t feel sick and can’t stop!
We’ve just had a Domino’s pizza and it was amazing Grin

ButtonTum · 26/01/2019 20:45

@iano me too! It's horrid. I'm having intermittent nausea off and on all the time then feel rough after I've eaten then hungry / sick again

I'm staying at my parents with DS tonight as DH is away and I've forgotten my pregnacare vitamins. Shall I double up tomorrow (ie take one in morning and evening) or just skip one? Very paranoid about missing them at this early stage 😬

boodles101 · 26/01/2019 20:46

iano yes definitely! My stomach is literally grumbling 10 mins after I've just eaten!

BBell2 · 26/01/2019 20:49

@firstbabybean hi welcome and im sorry about loosing your dog, mine is my shadow, its the saddest thing :(

@iano im super hungry, sickly and hingry its horrid. OH caught me with a bag of crisps which I never eat half an hour after two dippy eggs and a bowl of porridge. I cant stop in the morning and the sickness is late at night!

iano · 26/01/2019 20:50

@ButtonTum I wouldn't double up. Just skip them. I don't think it's that big a deal to miss one dose.

iano · 26/01/2019 20:51

Glad it's not just me. I thought I was going a bit mad! Just had a huge plate of chicken pie and am starving!!

DustyDoorframes · 26/01/2019 20:57

@iano in my last pregnancy I ended up eating the most insanely healthy diet of whole grains, pulses etc aa anything else just wore off right away and left me starving. We actually still eat better as a household as a result, we fell into really good habits. With my first I was a pasta monster...

@ButtonTum don't double up, there's a few things you don't want to overdo in there- and missing a dose is not a problem.

RM74 · 26/01/2019 22:06

Hi All!

I'm new to the group- due September 9th. I'm currently in full swing with all symptoms. The nausea and sickness is hard to deal with along side a stressful job! I'm going for a private scan tomorrow to see if everything is as it should be- going in with an open mind!

Hope everyone is feeling ok!

X

Taylou · 26/01/2019 22:41

I'm definitely feeling poorly. I think it's ironic that you feel the worst when you can't tell anyone! Everyone is available to help when you're pregnant but at the beginning you just carry on.

I'm having my booking and a scan Monday, so looking forward to good news and at least telling close family. By my guess I'll be 6+1 so I dont know of it will be too early for a heartbeat, but I'm hoping.

PastaSauceHoarder · 26/01/2019 22:54

God I went out for a meal with DH's side of the family tonight and I felt awful! I was absolutely starving yet as soon as the food came and I started eating I began to feel horrible - loads of trapped wind only after a few bites, I started to feel sick and I was coming out in sweats. And I couldn't even bloody tell anyone!!

Also my pregnancy logic today is that mushy peas are delicious and the best thing ever, but garden peas are discusting and make me feel sick. Sigh.

Sydneysider2019 · 27/01/2019 00:32

@Taylou
Second that! For me it has been a rough and overwhelming time so far (7 weeks), I've already taken time off work and felt that I just can't cope with work at all (quitting is not an option financially at this point) and have felt that I don't know who to turn to to help me cope. I haven't told my mum yet even though I really want to, but I want to do it properly when both me and my H, and both of my parents are there, and that won't happen for another 3 weeks. I could really do with sympathy and support right now from someone who gets it.

TwittleBee · 27/01/2019 05:01

Same here PastaSauceHoarder ! Went out for my Nan's birthday and I couldn't stomach anything, it all looked and smelled hideous, I had to keep running to the loo. Bloody hope no one guessed as wanted to wait a bit longer

Hello and congratulations RM74 !

I had my booking in appointment on Friday and have got my scan date through for 27th February. I've been referred for an early scan due to mmc so going to chase that up next week.
I've had awful insomnia this past week waking up and 2 and cannot get back to sleep. I'm exhausted. Hoping this passes soon! And my boobs are so sore when I move in bed I don't think that's helping the sleep either!

CookieBlue · 27/01/2019 08:49

Hi all.

I’ve had some bleeding this morning Sad. Had quite bad period type pains and when I went for a wee to wipe, there was quite a lot of blood.

I’ve rang the EPU and have left a message but the website says they are referral only so not sure what to do...

I know it can be normal but I’m scared stiff Sad I never had anything like this with my DD so I’m expecting the worst.

MyBreadIsEggy · 27/01/2019 08:54

DH is away for a week as of today, which isn’t out of the ordinary with his job, but with this cold, the morning sickness and 2 feral toddlers, the outlook for this week is looking rather bleak Confused

Megan2018 · 27/01/2019 08:58

@CookieBlue
I asked what to do if this happens at booking in and they said in working hours ring GP to refer to EPAU or out of hours A&E if bleeding is serious.
If they don’t get back to you today get on to 111 maybe? Then see GP first thing tomorrow.
Hope it stops, I can understand the worry! x

PastaSauceHoarder · 27/01/2019 09:01

Oh @CookieBlue, I'm so sorry you're worried - I would be scared too, its completely natural to be. Flowers Is it red blood? Have you rang your midwife? How far along are you?

CookieBlue · 27/01/2019 09:29

I think I’m around 5+3. I’ve only had my booking in appointment letter so far and on that it says the telephone number to contact is only open Monday to Friday Sad.

I went for a wee and when I looked in the toilet I could see a reddish clot. Immediately thought oh no but I had my 3 year old DD in the bathroom with me so I couldn’t really react. Then when I wiped there was quite a lot of blood but it mainly looked brownish? Have put a pad on so I can keep an eye on it.

Just feeling so scared and worried Sad.

Megan2018 I might give 111 a call actually, I didn’t think of them so thank you!

PastaSauceHoarder · 27/01/2019 09:38

Yes definitely call 111 @CookieBlue, hopefully they can tell you what to do. Flowers

I've heard that brown blood is not TOO concerning because its old blood, not sure about the clot though... Are you still having pains?
