Hi all

Welcome to the new thread. The list of names is HUGE! It might be a better idea to start a new list after 12 week scans so we have up to date due dates. It also allows those who have bad news but don't want to share it to leave quietly if they so wish.

I don't even have a scan date! Hurry up and end first trimester.

@chocolate89 my bump does that too! I'm 17w Sunday too!

I've not gained weight yet but for the opposite reason as I have a high bmi. I'm starting SW next week to.either shift a bit or at least continue maintaining.

JCAC16 · 21/02/2019 15:09

Hi, sorry I'm a bit late but can I join this thread/group? New to MN and not sure how it all works!
I'm due 6th August with my first dc, I'm 16+2 though don't have my 16-week appt until next week! Trying pregnancy yoga tonight and feeling nervous, does anyone do a class like this?

EverythingNow · 21/02/2019 15:14

Welcome @JCAC16

I'm due 4th August and I just started yoga a couple of weeks ago.

I was nervous but it's lovely, very very low intensity. Nice bit of dozing off at the end, and some bits on breathing.

This is my 4th baby so nice to get out for some peace!

Runningbutnotscared · 21/02/2019 15:52

I had a bmi of 22 and was planning a few marathons this year, working up to an ultra next year.

My youngest being 2.5 I was just feeling confident to leave her for long training runs. (My dh is great with the kids provided he has a routine to follow, left without one he just switches on the tv! And he is particularly rubbish with babies/young children. He’s much better when they can talk).
Instead, I’m the space of three months, I now have a bmi of 27 and can’t bare to have anything but a full stomach.
Euch

Good luck with SW @chocolate89. I know loads of women who swear by it. It’s like a foreign language from the outside.

Chocolate89 · 21/02/2019 18:51

@runningbutnotscared no I'm not joinIng SW, im trying to gain a bit of weight!

@everythingnow best of luck with SW! Do they give you special precautions when you are pregnant?

Booked in for my 20 week scan today, can't believe it's coming up so fast!

RaindropsRoses · 21/02/2019 19:04

@chocolate89 I've only gained 3lbs so far and am at low end of bmi but presuming it'll all come nearer the end. Also dc2 and I'd put on just over a stone by 12w last time so it is strange but then I'm running around after a toddler this time and have been much more sick.

Can we talk about cm/discharge? I've had a lot of it these last few days and it's grim. Its thick gunky stuff like I presume maybe makes the plug? I never saw my plug last time. Is that normal? Did not have it last time but I do remember lots of watery cm just not thicker like this. It doesnt smell or anything and isnt uncomfortable.

Bakingabean · 21/02/2019 19:22

Went for a sex scan this afternoon. It was very clear almost right away that it is a... boy!

He was bum in the air with his little manhood on full display!

Was amazing to see how much more developed he was since the 12 week scan!

QueenofFox · 21/02/2019 19:50

@Bakingabean congrats on your boy!! 💙

Fun times finding out what everyone has

I went out last night and I feel about a hundred years old today. I briefly contemplated 4 DCs but I don't think I could handle being pregnant ever again. So exhausted!

Moncwf · 21/02/2019 20:50

@Chocolate89 I have lost a bit over half a stone, 1st pregnancy I lost a stone the first trimester, but I was a higher starting weight. I get bad nausea and reflux during pregnancy so can't eat much. I am still normal range for BMI so no health professionals seems to care, GP won't give me anything for the nausea. I haven't got it in me to fight and I'm fairly rarely actually sick so I am just hoping it goes soon.
Last time I managed to gain 1.5 stone by the end and had a 9lb baby, and put on plenty post partum. I assume I'll be about the same this time. I think my metabolism prioritises baby as even with the weight gain I didn't look bigger, just had a bump. Some people seem to gain weight really easily when pregnant, it's just how your body reacts.

Ninunina · 21/02/2019 21:08

Another one for team blue! My two girls are so excited that they're going to have a baby brother. I've been floating on a cloud since my appointment Smile

ScotsBaby2 · 21/02/2019 21:11

@JCAC16 @EverythingNow I LOVE pregnancy yoga. I've been trying to get in on it since week 11 but not allowed until week 14. I'm so desperate for that hour of solitude that I don't even want to wait until the 7th March for the class close to me to start.

Anyone else feeling a big fat ❌ to the 🍆? I love the snuggles but any thought of 🍆 makes me run and hide.

Also, I smell! All the time. Is it my sense of smell increasing or me actually smelling bad? Even after shower or deo I feel whiffy.

OP posts:
Bakingabean · 21/02/2019 22:17

@ninunina high five for team blue!

@Queenoffox thanks! Very excited! I think he is too, yesterday it felt like there was a party going on in my uterus!

Out of the 6 of my friends (including me) there are 5 boys and only one girl!

Chocolate89 · 21/02/2019 22:33

@scotsbaby2 I deffo feel like pregnancy increases B.O.! I have said this to my dh and my other preg friends and apprently its in my head/ just the increase in sense of smell! I am totally paranoid about it though and am probably suffocating myself slightly with all the deodorant 😂😂

Opposite prob with the 🍆 though.. after 12 weeks of absolute fear of causing a problem I now want to all the time and poor dh is getting exhausted 😂

QueenofFox · 22/02/2019 00:56

@Bakingabean does feel like more boys at moment!
@Ninunina congrats! I'm also a boy after 2 girls. Feels quite surreal doesn't it! My girls are taking some convincing, they deffo want another sister!

Bambino19 · 22/02/2019 08:56

Everything went well with scan yesterday, first time it has hit home to me, seeing on the big screen!

What happens next? Do we wait for test results to know our chances of risk etc?

Add me onto the list @scotsbaby2 due date is August 27th!!

bubblegumunicorn · 22/02/2019 11:41

I've lost a stone and a half since I got pregnant Shock I needed to loose 2 stone minimum and its just been dropping off! which is fab from a personal point of view but is worrying me a bit for the baby!

bubblegumunicorn · 22/02/2019 11:43

@Chocolate89 My DH would love it if I couldn't get enough 🍆 😂 He's desperate for it and I just can't be bothered 😂😂

Jokie · 22/02/2019 11:53

@bambino19 and @Runningbutnotscared: welcome to the thread.

Great news about scans and all the updates.
@ninunina; think we're getting plenty of team blue this month! High 5 for another blue member!

ABearandABump · 22/02/2019 12:27

@bubblegumunicorn I lost a bit of weight in the beginning, I couldn't stomach food, literally lived on apples and ready salted crisps. Think I lost about 5lbs. I've put that back on since though.

I think if you wanted/needed to lose that anyway that baby will be fine. As long as you're still eating baby will thrive off that.

Congratulations @Bakingabean On your baby boy.

Is anyone else not finding out what they're having? I found out with my DS and he really wants to know what this baby is (as do the rest of my family) but I'm really just contemplating the surprise at the end.

keebo · 22/02/2019 14:18

@ABearandaBump we're not finding out the sex either. This will be our first and we're trying to keep as much as excitement as possible.
Anyone else not feeling the way you 'should' for 2nd trimester? I'm currently at wk15 and have really sore boobs, spots and insane exhaustion (9hrs at night plus 2 naps if I can have them, loving being on holiday this week!) plus still feeling icky and weird about food. I know everyone is different but I thought these things were supposed to start easing now? I can't wait for the fabled pregnancy honeymoon period!

ABearandABump · 22/02/2019 14:36

@keebo I'm the same. I still can't stomach salad or the smell of alcohol. Im constantly exhausted.

My boobs aren't sore but they are ridiculously itchy!

sacrecoeur0712 · 22/02/2019 14:52

@keebo 14 weeks here and still feeling pretty rubbish. Sore boobs, food aversion (although nowhere near as bad as 1st trimester) and absolutely knackered all the time. Can't remember it being this bad with my other two but have been putting it down to the fact I'm a geriatric this time Wink

Fuppy · 22/02/2019 15:27

@keebo My boobs are still very sore, and still very tired, no food aversions though.

Chocolate89 · 22/02/2019 15:42

We're not finding out out the gender either! Have a feeling its a girl though, v similar cravings to my dd. Watermelon and pineapple all the time!
