morning everyone - hope you all had good night sleep.

J20 - sorry to hear you're feeling low. You've got a lot on (and like to add to your work load, but the house sounds great!)- try and do something nice for you this weekend - tricky I know, but I hope you feel a bit brighter soon.

Alice, the whole feeding DC's is interesting. I was really strict with my DS and only gave him yoghurt, fruit etc but he also now has the occasional biscuit, cake and icecream - decided that a little bit of everything is better than being too stringent. Also, the older they get the harder it is to control it - too many outside influences creeping in (that and the ability to ask Grandpa for an icecream himself !!)

LadyE, I was SO shocked to read your post about the head. That is disgraceful Nearly all of my family are in education (lots are heads) and would be horrified to hear that too - I would write to the governers and complain. NO parent needs to be spoken to like that - esp pregnant ones!

Hope everyone else is ok and have good things planned for the weekend - my DH is working today (always find weekend days on my own with DS so much harder)but going to a party tomorrow afternoon (for all of an hour, but hey!)

Also, has anyone else got really bad chest pains? I have pulled the ligaments across my chest (combination of the world's biggest, heaviest breasts and picking up DS) and it is getting more and more painful, esp when I breathe...not sure if there is anything I can do cause the pain i right in the bones if you know what I mean. If anyone else has had this, can you pass on some tips?? thanks! Have a lovely day.

lisad123 · 14/07/2007 07:46

J20 where is the ukare you? I have a friends who a dolua, who i know is lovely, if your in herts.

I cant believe a headteacher could be so unkind, next time just tell him to sod off.

I have posted on BF post too, i get sick of this discussion so often because you must be the devil if you choose to FF your baby.

Hope your all well today
Lisa

dal21 · 14/07/2007 08:20

Morning all!

J20 - sorry to hear you arent feeling great. The iron levels cannot be helping. You should put your feet up more and the not sleeping - is your mind racing a million miles an hour?? sometimes mine does that-i find, stupidly enough that list making helps...hope you got some sleep after your earlier post.

muppet-read the b/f thread. interesting. people do have very strong views!

I have woken up in a grumpy mood - but its not so bad. I have finally learnt that trying to figure out why i feel grumpy is no good; it is good old pregnancy hormones! Shouldnt be grumpy - I have next week off work and mum is coming to stay - am really looking forward to it!
anyhows, off to get the waitrose shop out of the way! have a great weekend everyone!

MrsFish · 14/07/2007 08:41

Morning All - I'm in a grumpy mood too Dal. Ds isn't helpling with being awkward and crying at everything either

TheLadyEvenstar · 14/07/2007 09:23

Hiya everyone....

After writing my letter and giving it to him yesterday I am calmer although I will not buy new shoes for ds until new school year. What really angered me other than way he spoke to me was the fact that so many kids in the school have red, green, bronze sequined, gold, white, you name it all the colours of the rainbow, shoes on their feet. Including others who have black ones with butterflies etc but my ds can't wear black ones with a flame on the side!!!!! He also told him to buy a school bag as he has one which is not the school colours and has his initials on....errrr so do half the school as one of the mums makes them for the kids. Another child had his hat taken as it was not the school one.....what about the girls who wear their headscarves they are not school uniform either arghhhhhhhhhhh. SORRY lol rant over.

As I type this ds is currently going around the flat picking anything up that is junk, or not needed lol i think he is trying to get my galaxy cake bar off of me lmao. Am off out in a bit to my sisters where my mum is looking after my nephews....something else that has annoyed me as mum is in her 60's and had to be at sisters at 7am to look after the boys after doing a weeks work......not fair on her really!!!! So i will go down and keep her company.

Hope everyone is well and soz for rant xxxx

WinnieThePooh · 14/07/2007 13:15

Morning everyone,

Dp's elbow was still as bad this morning, so he took DD and me toi ballet this morning then went to A & E to get it X-rayed. It is not bruised, just really swollen. He dropped us of at 9.30am and is still not home. Hopefully everything is ok.

LES-The head's reaction to your Ds's shoes was OTT. Whyy not just assk you to get that do conform for september.

I hope everyone else is ok.

My parents are due soon, so won't be on much until tomorrow night now.

I hope you all have a good weekend

dal21 · 14/07/2007 13:57

Mrs Fish - must be something in the air. took another nap and still not feeling great! am lucky that these days dont come very frequently - but dont like feeling out of sorts when i normally am fine! and it has to be a saturday when we have plans! Think DH is going to have to attend a supper in town without me...its not my idea of fun to be surrounded by people drinking away eating food that I cannot face right now! Ha ha, sound like such a miserable cow today dont I?

Hi Inzi - I am not leaking anything. But a few weeks ago - noticed that if I squeezed nipples, liquid was coming out. Have left them alone since then as have read can stimulate them further.

Well i have just packed DH off to his dinner plans and am sat here with some good dvd's to watch! Bliss!

j20baby · 14/07/2007 18:52

Hi all, still feeling crappy but i have had a nap and going to go out for a couple of hours, may even have half a guinness for my iron

inzi-i haven't had any leaking yet but i've just bought some pads just in case.

sorry, can't remember what anyone else said bloody baby brain

j20baby · 14/07/2007 18:53

lisa-i'm in Hull and the doula service was going to be free, but thanks for thinking of me

winnie-hope your dp is ok

j20baby · 14/07/2007 18:56

dal-yes thats exactly what my head is like, wish i could turn it off sometimes!

i'm feeling very irratable lately i just can't be doing with some people, my friend is really getting on my nerves, even though she's not doing anything wrong really, just some comments she makes, probably hormones!

right off to get ready, have a nice evening everyone

dal21 · 14/07/2007 19:01

J20 - I really hate it when the mind races away; hopefully once you get your place sorted, your brain will settle a little! Have a great night out - I think i am having a bit of james bond/ aka daniel craid action tonight! god i am soo sad.

alicet · 14/07/2007 20:08

Thelady ? sorry to hear you?re having a rough time. If your head isn?t happy with your son?s shoes how come its taken all term to spot?? Seems like a ridiculous over reaction for 4 days!

Greedy ? glad your baby has slowed down a little and you?re not breeding a monster!

MrsFish ? bump is looking fab! Remember you said a while back you were overweight and had put loads more on ? Have to say I disagree with you unless you?re carrying it all in your head and ankles! Think you look great.

Inzi ? glad to hear you?re well! Can?t believe you only have 14 days left!!! I?m dead jealous! Bump pic is fab too!

J20 ? Sorry to hear you?re having such a sh*te time feeling unsupported and missing sperm donor. Just remember we?re all here for you to send massive virtual hugs xxx

Nellie ? sorry to hear you?re having such horrible chest pain. I would suggest trying some paracetamol ? its perfectly safe when pregnant. You could also try some gaviscon just in case its heartburn ? sometimes this comes on more like chest pain and can be confused with other stuff. No harm in trying ? again perfectly safe in pregnancy (thank god!!!!)

Dal ? sorry to hear you?re feeling off sorts today. Hope you manage to rest / do something to treat yourself to feel better!

Winnie ? hope your dp is OK. I wouldn?t be too worried if he?s been gone a while ? A&E on a Sat can get ridiculously busy! Thinking of you both!

Muppet ? started to read bf thread and then got irritated by the way it was going. It really annoys me that people feeling the need to criticise someone else?s choice on this. There are many many reasons for chosing either breast or formula feeding and that choice isn?t helped by sanctimonious idiots making you feel guilty! So stopped reading it before I got too irritated?.

We have had a lovely day. Took ds to the aquarium this am and he had a lovely time! Very very interested in the fish, otters and seals especially but more than that just really enjoyed running around! Then this pm I went into town to buy a pressie for my sister?s birthday while dh took ds to the park. They were waiting at the metro station when I came home too which was lovely. Dh is out this evening for a 40th party of one of the girls he works with. He says he won?t be late but he always says that when he goes out with work and ends up p*ssed and late! I don?t mind though ? I think its good for both of us to be able to get out and enjoy ourselves from time to time. I get a lie in tomorrow while he gets up anyway and that?s all I?m bothered about at the mo!

Anyway, prob back on later?.. Hope you?re all enjoying your evening

WinnieThePooh · 14/07/2007 21:06

JUst a quick post to let you all know that DP had his arm in plaster at th moment, that means that we are unable to go to his work summer party tomorrow. My parents will take me to do the race for life tomorrow.

He has to go to the fracture clinic on tuesday and hopefully they will take the cast off otherwise he will be out of action for about 6 weeks.

alicet · 14/07/2007 21:11

Sorry to hear about your dp winnie! Glad he is getting sorted out though and fingers crossed he won't need the cast for 6 weeks. Good luck in race for life too...

j20baby · 14/07/2007 23:36

Sorry to hear that winnie, what a time to do it!

glad you've hgad a nice day alice, thanks for the hugs, gratefully received

dal-sounds god, should have done the same!

well, i've been out, watched my friend get drunk, saw no less than 3 other pg ladies with there dp/dh's where very loving and protective, felt a little envious, so have come home to have pizza and cottage cheese, better than a cuddle off an adoring partner anyday

also got told my bump is petiete(sp) hmph!!they should try carrying a mini hippo!

lisad123 · 15/07/2007 08:43

Winnie sorry to here your hubby is in plaster.
J20 was pizza good what flavor?

Anyone else that had a crap day yesterday, hope today is btter for you.

Remember I told you i had bad baby brain and had sent hubby in the loft to get down the crib, that i sold over a year ago?? Well a very nice lady from freecycle has given me one It is beutiful, better than my old one and she even gave me all the bedding set, canopy and a bath I love this freecycle stuff. I have never bothered collecting and normally just give away but so far we have saved so much money. Which is great as my sick pay sucks . so far we have been given: a crib, bath, moses basket, electronic swing, bag bag of lovely baby clothes, nappies and wraps (washables) and bedding. They have all come from lovely ladies and i was very worried they would all be horrible dirty stuff, but all have been great. Even hubby was amazed.
I still have so much sorting out to do and washing so best get on. Hope today brings better days

Lisa

j20baby · 15/07/2007 10:16

I know this has nothing to do with pregnancy, but please read this thread and think about joining the transplant list. If you agree you can join online.

morning all!

not read all the posts, havent been around for a few days and you lot are mega chatty!!!

alice saw your maclaren has arrived.i got one off ebay to use in emergencies if dh is out and i have to go to school with babya nd dd.it is a bit of a pain to fold up.have only tried it once after we took it to bits to wash (was described in the listing as like new, turned up and it smelled of mold and was filthy!!!)havnt got any tips on folding etc,but will keep a watch out in case anyone else does!

had a bad week last week.had to take dd to the hospital as she couldnt breath properly.her consultant had a listen to her chest, but as id given her her inhaler, her chest was pretty clear.so she is now on ventolin and becotide two puffs twice a day of each.
tehn on thursday we had to ring for an ambulance for her.she had been playing in dd1 and dd2's bedroom with dds and she fell against the metal bunk bed.dd2 brought her down with blood pouring out of her nose and mouth!rang gp to see if we could take her in (this was at 5.30pm) receptionist said no appointments,dh explained that dd was bleeding and she said "you can come but you'll have over an hour wait!" so we rang for an ambulance.the paramedics were fab.tehy didnt mind being called out and checked dd over.we thought she had broke her nose, but she'd just banged it,but she has split her top lip right open.
then friday dh took her to the gp as her rash has spread all over her.we thought it was chicken pox, crappola gp said its just a rash (despite her having teh fever and spots appearing and spreading over a few days)
yesterday you could tell that they are chicken pox,as they have little blisters on them now.

anyway,im hoping that the following week will be alot less hectic!!!(oh,dd1 has just come back from staying at my mums for teh weekend and has chicken pox!!)

anyway,hope everyone is ok!!!

alicet · 15/07/2007 12:34

buffy sorry to hear you've been needing so much contact with the nhs! Hope things are going OK and the lo's with chicken pox aren't too miserable.

Hello everyone else - big hugs to those having a crap time. Haven't done the cut and paste thing so can't remember anything else.

Will be about later.....
