Good luck on your scan Mrs Fish

Our little darling was 5.45am today WIDE awake but we took hos nappy off and told him to go back to sleep/play in his bedroom -how awful are we??

We've got a 'let's-do-all-those-really-crap jobs-we've-been-putting-off-for-months'
type of day.

See you all later

lisad123 · 30/06/2007 11:26

J20, have i missed something? Why you because Mrsfish is having scan? Sorry just nosey

HonorMatopoeia · 30/06/2007 11:35

Morning all!
Inzi - marching should be banned by allpg womens houses I think!I had to contend with a party over the road last night (I was all for making Dh go over and tell them to f*king shut up Is it my hormones d'ya think?)The other weekend I had a WWII flypast too - surreal or what?!
Muppet - thoroughly ubderstand the sending them back to their room thing. dd was up at 6:30 this morning after a day of throwing up evrywhere (she's got a chest nfection) thought I may get a lie in but NO!! She wanted Peppa Pig so downstairs we went!
I'm spending today trying to relax as I have my School Fair tomorrow. Not to say that its big or anything but it generally makes The Royal Show look small in comparison. Oh, and it's due to rain - joy!!

HonorMatopoeia · 30/06/2007 11:35

Sorry mrs fish- meant to say - Good luck for the scan!

lisad123 · 30/06/2007 11:48

Hope your scan went well MrsFish!!! Very jealous also but looking forward to hearing all about it!

I have to say I was very impressed with epidural also. I think pain wise I was coping OK with gas and air and tens - not pleasant but managing. However when ds was so distressed I just knew that he was going to have to come out some unpleasant way and thought I wanted the epidural for that! Not saying I wouldn't have been screaming out for it in pain if I had got further though!! I also think that one of the main reasons I felt so rubbish before was with sickness that I thought an epidural wouldn't solve but actually it did! Having had it the first time I think it would be psychologically really hard to try and manage without this time - for me it went in really easily and worked like magic! Think there's nothing wrong with having them but I guess the chance of a successful vbac (if I do that) would probably be higher if you were able to get up and about a little. My other problem is I have a funny anaesthetic sensitivity so I would be VERY keen to avoid a general anaesthetic. If I was given the drug I am sensitive to (which I was told last time they might just have to give me if i needed a ga) I would need to be ventilated in intensive care ubtil it wore off which could be several hours - as you can imagine thats not something I would like when I just want to be with my new lo!

Sorry - rant over!!!!!

I have had a lovely morning - first dh took our 3 cats to the vet for their jabs (so MrsFish's post yesterday about putting them in their cat baskets made me pmsl!!!), then we went to the park and cafe with ds. We bumped into some good friends who have a dd the same age as our ds which was great. Ds now sleeping so having some me-time!

Oh and welcome MrsMar!

Sorry some of you have had a rubbish night / unpleasantly early start. And muppetgirl I certainly don't think there is anything wrong with leaving your ds to play!! My rational for having 2 close together is hoping they will get up and amuse each other while me and dh get a lie in! Obviously not as soon as ds2 is born but we'll be working on it!

J20 - surely your whole house and that of all your neighbours is painted now?!!! I think you have more energy than all the rest of us put together!!! Hope you take some time to chill too....

alicet · 30/06/2007 12:49

For those with cats who recognise the situation descibed my MrsFish in the other thread about putting them into cat baskets, our foolproof trick is to tip basket on its end and drop them in! They don't like it very much but at least they are in there before they work out what is going on and its too late to try and stop it!!!!

j20baby · 30/06/2007 13:12

lisa your dd is so pretty

alice, i moved into the house at the beginning of May and have no carpets downstairs or on the stairs, so need to decorate before i can lay them, and i have still got boxes everywhere so wantt to get finished and organised so i can rest when the house is done, hate living in a mess

can't remember who said, but re cramps in legs, i don't really get cramps but itchiness in my legs, but they get swollen a lot so i think thats what causes the itchiness.

getting scared now, have bought loads of little girl clothes and had a dream last night that lo was born a boy...argh, don't know what i'd do if she did turn out to be a he, with her room being girly and all that!

lisad123 · 30/06/2007 13:17

Thanks J20 i think so too but i would
Im having another girl too, well it better be i have no boys stuff and we have a girls name choosen

MrsFish · 30/06/2007 13:42

Good afternoon everyone... gosh I'm tired only having 3 hrs last night has really caught up with me. DS is now sleeping after his 6am start, lucky devil, am hoping dh will take him out this afternoon so I can have a nap. Been to Toys r Us and bought another stairgate to go on his bedroom door, hopefully put paid to the early wake up calls, well I am hoping he wil play nicely in his room rather than shouting, I knew the first week in his new bed was too perfect (he stayed there till we went in) now he gets up as soon as he is awake Also bought a rocker moses basket stand as it was half price at £9.99

Also we were very naughty and went to mcdonalds for lunch, I had a mcChicken sandwich meal with a choc milkshake and stopped off at the shop on the way home (to get a card) and have just eaten a dipped flake too no wonder the weight is piling on Also got ds a happy meal with fries and a fruit shoot,am I a bad mummy? he didn't eat most of it though

MrsFish · 30/06/2007 13:45

Well had the scan it was really nice to see lo moving around, they were struggling to get decent pics because he was wriggling so much. Didn't get a real clear shot of his face because the little swine had his hand over it all of the time, despite wriggling everything else will sort out pictures and post them up soon

MrsFish · 30/06/2007 13:57

Just looking at cd now, am a bit dissapointed pictures aren't as clear as I had hoped, I think I was spoilt because my best friend had fab ones that were really clear and these aren't I'll post a link soon, thats if you can make them out

MrsFish · 30/06/2007 14:20

OK, pictures on profile

alicet · 30/06/2007 14:26

I think they're pretty cool pics - esp the second one!

When we had our 3D scan they had a guarantee that if we didn't get clear pics of his face and this couldn't be remidied by getting up and moving about they would arrange a second scan. Might be worth checking this out if you're not happy? They're not cheap!

When ds was born I was really surprised how lke him they were!

MrsFish · 30/06/2007 14:29

I know, but what constitutes not clear? I suppose you can see most of his face?

MrsFish · 30/06/2007 14:30

I think it is because my friends were so clear, if I hadn't any others to compare them against I probably would have been happy

nellieloula · 30/06/2007 14:55

Mrs Fish - they are lovely! It's amazing how much of a sense of them you get. Hope everyone else is ok; I'm feeling absolutely shattered today, but thankfully DH is home late tonight until Mon pm - allelujia! Can I ask, is anyone else eating the same things all the time? I have absolutely no energy to shop or create lovely meals - so end up eating the same cheese and salad sandwich for lunch every day... I know it's not good. If anyone has any inspiration please share!!Have a good afternoon everyone (and welcome Mrs Mars)

muppetgirl · 30/06/2007 16:55

Hello all,
Mrs Fish, just looked at photos i agree the second one looks fab!

We did McDonalds today which when we arrived ds was fast alseep so dh queued and i stayed in the car with sleepy boy. When he got back ds had just about woken up and we handed hom the toy from his happy meal -the gingerbread man from shrek- and we spent ten mins trying to convince him the gingerbread man wasn't real as he kept trying to eat as still 'puch drunk' from sleep. He wasn't amused....

Am now v.tired and yes I get the cramps too they hurt soooo much and i even found a lump in my leg where the muscle had contracted. I find it best to point my toes to the ceiling and stretch it out (As if you were walking..) apparently it means a lck of salt....?
Dh is now in process of installing an outside tap (god help us all)
he's not know 'round our parts' fro his diy skills so will keep you posted of our exciting afternoon. Well, saying that, only if we still have elctric, gas, water......!

OP posts:
muppetgirl · 30/06/2007 17:03

Am v knackered too atm tired eyes and painful nose (i know -it's odd!)
My jaw atrted clicking agin last night (In an earlier post I said my jaw started clicking in and out of the joint when i had ds and is apparently due to the joint realxing in readyness for birth unfortunately it happens to all joints -my jaw?!?!)

So it hurts me to open my jaw any wider than a sandwhich and I can't yawn at all.

Will have to go back to the osteopath/chiropractor that i saw last time.

We are watching the magic roundabout in our house.......

Wow lovely pics mrsfish. You have great scan pics too.

as for lunch ideas, i stick a jacket potato in the oven for an hour and then fill with fillings brought from tesco like coranation chicken or left overs like spag bowl mince or korma.

j20baby · 30/06/2007 17:44

mrsfish, love the pictures, i really really am jealous but there's no way i could afford to have them done

re; food, i eat crap all the time, even more so now i've got my cooker, keeping baking buns and stuff, but if you feel energetic one day why not make a batch of stuff, like lasagne, spag bol..etc and freeze them individually so you can defrost them each day?

well, i've finished painting for today! am very tired but going to try and get out for a bit tonight, as the paint fumes are getting to me a bit, so i will go sit in a smoke filled pub instead

muppetgirl · 30/06/2007 17:56

J20 baby -what is it you are painting?

At first I thought you were an artist as you paint so much!!!!
