So we got our blood test results back. It's a boy! After two girls I'm totally gobsmacked. Also immediately started worrying about August born third boy child, he doesn't have a hope in school 😂

Also better news as my daughters condition is less severe in boys so no treatment needed during pregnancy which is a relief.

Stunned but hoping that because they could collect the dna all is well for the scan on the 4th 🤞

Blueberry2018 · 18/01/2019 16:35

@QueenofFox brilliant news, congrats!!

clairelee17 · 18/01/2019 16:43

@QueenofFox congrats! How far gone are you? I didn't know you could tell by a blood test!

EverythingNow · 18/01/2019 16:53

Great news @queenoffox!

UnicornDust17 · 18/01/2019 16:55

Wondeful news @QueenofFox was this harmonic or the NHS NIPD(?)

OctoberGirl91 · 18/01/2019 16:59

Congratulations @QueenofFox I secretly would love a boy as I've got 2 DD's.

My scan is 4th also!

Nausea/ sickness is off scale today 😷 got a prescription for some cyclizine I didn't want to use but I'm going have to; my sickness is all in evening! xx

Sunnydays321 · 18/01/2019 17:00

Hi all, how exciting that people are starting to have their scans, I'm 9 weeks so mine won't be for a few weeks yet.

And great to hear that people have got some fun stuff booked before baby arrives. We are off to centre parks next weekend, France in April and a couple of gigs booked.

Hope people aren't feeling too sick. Iv felt nauseous for weeks but avoided being sick. But today has hit me hard, been feeling really sick all day and vomiting. My 2 year old gave me a cuddle while I had my head in the toilet earlier and after I'd finished she said "well done mummy" .

How are any other 2nd subsequent time mums coping with looking after kids whilst feeling sick. I managed to get out to a group this morning which was nice totake my mind off it but equally everyone talking to me and having to concentrate made me feel worse. We've ended up just eat hing movies all after noon and feeling guilty! X

QueenofFox · 18/01/2019 17:02

Thanks all! Lovely news. Completely shocked.

@clairelee17 you can have a blood test from 9+3. Either harmony or NIPS/NIPT on NHS if you qualify. I'm 10 weeks today by the dating scan but 10+6 according to dates - think the 12wk scan will move it back in line with that. Had the test done on Tuesday.

It was the NIPS which is basically a less comprehensive harmony done on the nhs.

DH has gone name mad. Sending me suggestions every 2 secs!

Bakingabean · 18/01/2019 17:18

Had my 12 weeks scan today- all fine! So relieved! Baby very uncooperative so wouldn't turn it's head so the lady could check measurements etc. And I swear at one point it gave her the finger after all the jiggling around.

pictures not that clear because of a stubborn bean!

Also great news @QueenofFox!

Chocolate89 · 18/01/2019 17:30

@queenoffox brilliant news! 💙💙

sacrecoeur0712 · 18/01/2019 17:35

Lovely news @queenoffox, and great news on your 12 week scan @bakingabean

It’s lovely to see scans pics coming in, especially as those of us due at the end of the month still have a long wait ahead Smile

Bakingabean · 18/01/2019 17:39

Forgot to say my due date is now 29-31st of July, but I like this thread too much to move to the July one!

EverythingNow · 18/01/2019 17:48

@octobergirl91 and @queenoffox I have 3 girls so I would secretly love a boy too.

Blueberry2018 · 18/01/2019 17:48

@Bakingabean congrats! Thats fab news! Stick with our group, we're much nicer Wink!!

UnicornDust17 · 18/01/2019 17:55

Oh wow, so funny about your wriggling bean @Bakingabean glad it all went well... Grin

UnicornDust17 · 18/01/2019 17:56

They offer the NHS one where I'm at so I'm going to ask for it and hope I'll get accepted - fingers crossed!

ABearandABump · 18/01/2019 18:35

@QueenofFox me too! My dating scan says I'm 9+6 today but my dates make me 10+2. Hopefully 12w scan will firm up dates.

@Bakingabean ah what a fab little scan picture! Congratulations.

I've been awol recently, my dad had a massive heart attack (he's fine now!) and I'm just wanting to eat ice, salt and vinegar crisps and not much else Blush.

RaindropsRoses · 18/01/2019 18:43

@QueenofFox great news congrats!

And congrats @bakingabean !

@Sunnydays321
We have been at centreparcs this week just got back, hope you have a good time. My ds is 19m and it was good to spend some nice time together and have dp around too. I feel your pain though, I spend the first few hrs every morn on the sofa feeling like death with the tv on for him but what can we do x

Insomnia has hit me bad when we were away and barely slept the whole time so disturbed all night feel exhausted. Really hoping the different bed played a part and will be able to have a good night tonight now we are back. Sickness let up weds and thurs which was nice but obviously also made me panic but typical it's back again all day today.

Would it be a good idea to put how far gone we are after our posts to keep track?

8+5

Curlywurlywoo · 18/01/2019 19:47

I saw some posts earlier about trying to sleep /get comfy sleeping, something I’ve found helps is a V shape support pillow. I’m trying to train myself to sleep on left side now, and found it really uncomfortable having one leg resting on the other so I have the support pillow going along between my knees and then I sort of lean on the other bit of it! I still wake twice a night to wee but at least I can manage to get back to sleep now!
12+3

Spongeb0b · 18/01/2019 20:17

@sacrecoeur0712 yes it's my thyroid as well! It was shot last time and they told me off for not going til I was 9 weeks! Confused

@RaindropsRoses I'm 8.5 today too Smile

Hope everyone enjoys their upcoming hols, I'm determined to squeeze one in before I'm due!

Spongeb0b · 18/01/2019 20:22

Is anyone else out there having a third and worrying a bit about how people will react Confused

I will have quite big age gaps and I'm expecting people to say things like "are you mad you've just got your life back" etc. We didn't mean to leave it so long we just didn't have the space we do now

I know it's no one's business I'm just dreading the raised eyebrows! Grin

UnicornDust17 · 18/01/2019 20:40

Sorry to hear about your dad @ABearandABump glad to hear he's on the mend now, that must've have been a big shock for you

Spongeb0b · 18/01/2019 20:46

@BearandABump Flowers

abw94 · 18/01/2019 21:05
