JBCG that sounds more positive than you were expecting. Crossing fingers but it must feel like next week will never come!

Toomanyflatwhites you’ll have to change your nn Wink

Leslie sounds tricky. I guess if you have to stay where you are for maternity pay would you really go mad when returning afterwards?

I’m really struggling with nausea and smells etc here. I had a terrible time before with it too and said I couod never go through pg again as it completely broke it it was so awful. I’m on more drugs than last time but I’m still spending hours a day on the sofa sobbing from feeling so debilitatingly sick. And I’m only 6+1

Blondcat · 31/10/2018 17:19

@jbcg glad to hear it is not ectopic but hard to wait another week to get more answers.

7 weeks today and wearing the sick bands still getting waves of nausea unless I eat constantly too. Hard to hide bloat and larger boobs just asked my mum if she has any tops I can borrow as she is slightly larger and bigger boobs so hoping that I can hide for a few more weeks yet.

mindthechaos · 31/10/2018 17:22

@JBCG Glad it’s not an ectopic and your hcg went up. Hope this next week speeds by for you

@Reastiepeace I’m right there with you 6+2 today and have been living on jacket potatoes are they are one of the few smells I can handle and don’t make me vomit. Really struggling to maintain normality when I feel so shit

MadeInCornwallx3 · 31/10/2018 17:22

Hi all!

@JBCG I'm glad it was better news than expected, fingers crossed for more good news. Next week. X

I had my booking in appt today. Took bloods and history, all very straightforward which was great - liked the midwife too which is a bonus! She will now send my info to the hospital and I should get my scan date through next week. Booked in for 16 weeks and hopefully hearing the heartbeat on the 27th Dec!

rollerskaterdata · 31/10/2018 18:16

@JBCG that's such positive news, I hope you get even more next week x

@hexagon01 the bloat is so real isn't it?! Mine is so bad I'm giving up hiding it to be honest 🤷‍♀️

@JBCG what a great update!! Crossing everything for you!

toasterstrudle · 31/10/2018 18:34

Exciting to have dates in the diary @MadeInCornwallx3 ! Always makes things feel much more real and exciting.

MadeInCornwallx3 · 31/10/2018 19:05

@toasterstrudle @rollerskaterdata Thanks guys!

I do think having the appointment has made it feel more real. I love getting my notes I'm such a geek 🤓

Good luck for tomorrow!

socktastic · 31/10/2018 20:47

@JBCG so chuffed to hear some good news! Hope it continues. Big hugs!

Bimbabo · 31/10/2018 20:55

Had my booking in appointment this morning. Was fine but did feel like I could have answered the questions at home.

Scan booked for 30 November and then I have the Cons straight after the scan. Said everything should be straight forward and nothing of concern at this time which was nice to hear. Think it will be more real when I get the scan and hopefully they tell us that it is all good.

I'm a nurse and starting to feel the constraints of my uniform so have told work today. Very supportive and my lead nurse has told me that my health and wellbeing outweigh work at this time. Very pleased that she feels that way.

I'm counting myself lucky as not having anything in regards to issues. Not feeling nauseated much and its not amounted to anything. Have gone off coffee though, don't like the taste. Very tired and bloated and that is all for now. I'm hoping that it continues like this as some of what you guys have been posting sounds horrendous. I'm counting my pregnancy lucky stars for now.

I'm also very grateful that we have not had any worry like some of you have had. My heart and thoughts are with you and I hope that it all works out in the end.

I don't post much but take comfort in reading others as it makes me feel normal and able to read about pregnancy without telling or boring others. It's a nice wee fix!

With love xxx

WeeBean · 31/10/2018 21:16

Hi ladies, can I join please?

7 weeks today by my (well my App's) reckoning and due 19th June. Big, heavy, sore boobs, nausea, cramps, insomnia and being sick, which is great as we're on honeymoon in Hawaii! Actually feeling oddly comforted by it all though, like if I feel rubbish and I'm throwing up it probably means baby is doing ok?

We haven't told family or friends yet, I've a doctors appointment booked for next Friday, the day after we get back and then a private scan booked for that afternoon, just for reassurance as I don't know when we'll get a scan with NHS. I feel like my first doctors appointment is quite late on and worried it could take a while. If the scan goes well we'll tell family next weekend and I'll have to tell work before I go back due to the nature of my job, I hate that everyone there will know so early on even though they're all great!

tiredmama25 · 01/11/2018 06:32

Hi all,

I've been tentatively visiting this thread in the hope of joining. I'm 6+2, had a private scan yesterday due to bad history and we saw a little bean with a beating heart so all looking okay so far.

I am really struggling with all day nausea. I'm not a sicky person, literally never sick and don't think I will be. I just feel it. Bad. The only time it stops is when I'm eating. Which unfortunately at the moment is mainly babybels and crumpets. Does anyone have any tips on taking the edge off? 🤢

This will be DC3. Don't remember feeling this nauseous before.

mindthechaos · 01/11/2018 07:04

Overnight i started getting sharp pains on and off and a tiny bit of spotting. Put it to the back of my mind but the pain got bad enough to wake me this morning. I’m hoping it’s just scar tissue stretching as I had an op to remove a large ovarian cyst less than 6 months ago, but as it’s getting worse 111 said I’ve should head to a&e. Fingers crossed it just stretching

KoalasAteMyHomework · 01/11/2018 07:09

@JBCG so glad to hear its not ectopic. Sorry you have another week of waiting ahead but it sounds positive so far.

@tiredmama25 had that with my first and now again this time. I was never actually sick but really feels like I might be. Never really found a solution other than ginger biscuits and having dry crackers to nibble on. I find its much worse if I'm hungry.

@mindthechaos sorry to hear you've had a horrible night. Hopefully it is the scar tissue and all is fine. Let us know what they say.

Still trying to keep up with the thread but am in bed so early most nights at the moment! Was on the last thread too but still not added myself to the list!

stellarfox · 01/11/2018 07:12

@mindthechaos Can you ring your gp or the gp on call this morning? Have you had your ultrasound yet as it could be more cysts if you are prone to them.

I wanted to ask are you all using your normal deodorant or a natural one? I heard that aluminium wasn’t very good so I’ve been using a crystal one but that seems to have lost its effectiveness so on the hunt for a better one!

mindthechaos · 01/11/2018 07:17

stellarfox I spoke to my gp when it first happened and it was really ok and off and she was the one who said it might be scar tissue. She wasn’t much more help than that though as just said if it gets worse go to hospital. I didn’t know that about deodorant, I’ll look into it as I’ve had 2 dermoid cysts removed.

koalas thanks will do

toasterstrudle · 01/11/2018 07:40

Just popping on to say get some travel sickness bands if you've got nausea!! I've had strong nausea in both pregnancies so far (even the mmc one) and have never even thought to try them. I got them yesterday and they definitely help. Not a subtle look though so it's long sleeves from now on for me!

toasterstrudle · 01/11/2018 07:40

@mindthechaos hope you're ok, thinking of you.

stellarfox · 01/11/2018 07:55

@mindthechaos fingers crossed it settles down. I have woken up before with pains in my sides and I put it down to round ligaments stretching. It could be a combination of the two? Hope you can take it easy today!

Re the aluminium I’m not sure whether there is significant evidence behind it. If everyone else is using normal deodorant I might go back to that!

Torsz · 01/11/2018 08:11

@stellarfox deodorant hasn't crossed my mind to be honest - I had to stop using my foundation, face wash, body wash etc etc as it all contained salicylic acid for my rubbish skin, but I haven't even considered other products!

KoalasAteMyHomework · 01/11/2018 08:12

I'm so annoyed that I seem to be the only person the travel bands don't work for! Tried them last week as my Mum uses them and so did I as a child for travel sickness, but didn't help! Maybe I was having an off day- I was chasing a 3yo round a castle!!

MadeInCornwallx3 · 01/11/2018 08:45

@mindthechaos Sorry for your rubbish night. It sounds like it could well be scar tissue but please try and get into the GP/epu today if you can.

@tiredmama25 I feel your pain! I'm pregnant with DC3 as well and I swear I didn't feel this tired or sick before... Maybe it's being older (I'm 35 now) or maybe it's having two little ones to run around after as well. All I know is it's actually debilitating and all motivation to do pretty much anything is zero 😭

Fingers crossed it will pass sooner rather than later!!

@WeeBean - welcome and congratulations!
Will you be about 8 1/2 - 9 weeks for your first appointment? That's about right for booking in, they tend to not see you before that unless there's a reason to. It feels weird that your kinda left to it but I suppose it makes sense seeing as there's not a lot they can do early on. Hawaii sounds incredible! Very jealous!

sk17 · 01/11/2018 08:55

Congratulations to all the new additions to this thread. Hope it all goes well for you guys and all DC's come out beautiful and healthy.

Can I just say, this is my first baby and my first time on MN and I am absolutely in love with the support system on this. Just on this thread alone, everyone is so kind and supportive and it really makes it easier to deal with all the problems. Very heart warming to see all the mamas unites Grin

Much love to all Smile

Blondcat · 01/11/2018 09:24

@koalasatemyhomework they are taking the edge off for me but still feeling pretty grim and needing to eat all the time to help. Always worked with travel sickness in the past so really frustrating they are not the miracle cure I thought they were... But anything which helps at the moment is good for me even if just taking the edge off.

@mindthechaos hope it is just stretching scar pain and passes soon.

@madeincornwallx3 this is my first but am 37 so think there may be something with the being older and feeling sick /tired or otherwise I am just a massive wuss (probably the later Grin)
