Checking into the new thread...

So I was booked to have my flu jab next week but went to the doctors yesterday to get something for my terrible skin (as I can't use most skin products whilst pregnant) and she gave me the jab whilst I was there! Pleased as it got it out of the way and it also meant I didn't have time to worry about it beforehand 😂

Also counting down to 8 weeks (bring on Thursday!) as I feel like I'll feel less nervous once I get past it...we'll see!!

Littleray84 · 16/10/2018 14:12

Hi ladies can I join I'm anything between 4+2 and 5 weeks today. Had BFP since Saturday. Only had one period since mmc in August so not sure when I ovulated.

This will be my 3rd baby have a dd16 and ds 11 so quite a gap. This one will be my dp's first .

Stormwhale · 16/10/2018 14:28

@Kescilly - my scan is tomorrow. As it's a private one I think you get photos so I will post them tomorrow if all goes well.

Azure83 · 16/10/2018 14:33

Marking my place. This thread moves fast!

CollyWombles · 16/10/2018 14:44

Hey all, ended up having a early scan today. I had back pain and upper thigh pain with a little bit of spotting. Called EPU and they saw me quickly.

There was nothing but a thickened womb lining to be seen on scan but they have done my bloods and the level of HCG is 700. They will do bloods again on Thursday.

I had a cyst that ruptured on my left ovary so that explained the pain and spotting.

When I miscarried 3 months ago, my HCG never got higher than 45 so I am pleased my level is higher but won't be able to relax until the scan shows a viable pregnancy.

Napssavelives · 16/10/2018 14:54

@toomanyflatwhites I’m exhausted too, maybe we do have some symptoms.. again for me could be the 2 other kids, shift work, a non sleeping toddler and insomnia. It’s going to be a long 6 weeks until our scans isn’t it! I’m booking a private one in 3 weeks, need to see the little bean!

DoveGreylove · 16/10/2018 14:58

Hi Everyone, I am super early -3 weeks +5 but got my BFP today! Thought i'd pop on to say hello and congratulations to all!

Fingers crossed my pregnancy sticks and I get to stay in this group.

My app thinks i'm due 27th June :) xx

toomanyflatwhites · 16/10/2018 15:02

Oh @CollyWombles how stressful, good that they saw you so quickly though. I had an HCG level of 46 back in August too (tested after I started bleeding) so it's horribly tempting to pay to get it tested now (even though I have no reason to doubt things are ok so far) . Fingers crossed everything is ok but I assume you have to wait 2 days for another test now so you?

@Napssavelives yes who knows! I work full time and find that pretty exhausting usually on top of having a toddler who only wants me (lucky DP!!) so it's really hard to know what's normal tiredness and what's not! I will probably have the harmony test and a scan at 10 weeks with that but as I'm not completely sure when I ovulated I might try and do a walk-in to the EPU for a dating scan...

joeybear1 · 16/10/2018 15:30

Finally managed to sort out a first contact appointment! After a week of being passed onto different people I managed to leave a message for the team I'd been told to ring and were told they'd get in touch after they'd finished with their current appointment. They've just rang me back and very very confused about why I'd been told to ring them! But they were lovely and while one of them was on the phone to me her colleague called the people I actually needed to book in with and arranged it all for me. It's suddenly feeling a bit more real and I nearly started crying on the phone just saying things out loud, haha!

Napssavelives · 16/10/2018 15:34

@toomanyflatwhites it’s good that your EPU does that. I wish mine did, save me £80!

toomanyflatwhites · 16/10/2018 15:41

@Napssavelives I think they do, though I haven't tested the theory...but apparently if you rock up and say you're worried you can wait and be scanned. When I had my chemical in August I was in France so there we rocked up, got scanned, had HCG tests with results back by phone in 2 hours, and it cost something like €25 for the lot!

Reastie · 16/10/2018 15:47

Hello all,

I’m tentatively popping my head in to say hello after a bfp this morning. Have been getting symptoms since Friday (af unreliable but due this week) but thinking it was all in my head! Dd is 7 and ad a miserable pg with her. Was signed off work the entire time with terrible nausea and thought I could never go through it again. It’s taken 7 years to build up courage and I’m so scared as suffering with the unrelenting nausea made me so anxious and I ended out suffering mh issues because of it. So I’m feeling very delicate and nervous but it’s early days so trying not to overthink things. GP has given me cyclizine to start as soon as I found out I was pg as getting ahead of the game with the nausea is suppose to help. It’s making me really woozy though so spent the morning on the sofa. Luckily have this week and next week off work.

Annihall regular trips to sneak off to the loo to have a sneaky snack in the corridor or (grim alert) in the loos? Is there a staff kitchen;where you make tea where you could sneak something? Otherwise tell someone as they may let you have more breaks to eat regularly or similar. It may be better for them than potentially you having to have time off.

Colly how stressful. That’s a really good hcg level though so fingers crossed.

PurrMaid · 16/10/2018 15:53

Hi @Kescilly I’m 7 weeks today too, and had my first bit of nausea yesterday and a bit this morning. But nothing too bad. Haven’t been physically sick. Just been sucking on extra string mints all day!
I have a scan on Thursday evening...hoping they can definitely see something at 7+2!

Kescilly · 16/10/2018 16:18

Oh good luck &PurrMaid! They should be able to see a heartbeat I hope!

I took a hint from someone and got some ginger biscuits yesterday, which helped. Then I opened the cabinet and they spilled out and I lost half of them and wanted to cry!

We scheduled our private scan for next week so I’m going to be a ball of nerves until then. Do NHS scans not do pics then?

I think we’ve also decided to go for Harmony if the eight week scan goes well. I’m still not convinced there’s anything in there, but I’ll be devastated if there isn’t.

hexagon01 · 16/10/2018 17:01

Hi all, placemarking for this thread Smile

I have been so very tired and I’m away for a course with work so I have a whole double bed to myself with no toddler to wake me up several times so if I don’t sleep well I’ll be furious! It’s my first time away from him though so I’m sure I’ll be awake at 4am missing him...

hexagon01 · 16/10/2018 17:05

@kescilly our trust do pictures at the scan but we had to pay maybe £3 for them?

Stormwhale · 16/10/2018 17:32

@kescilly when I had an early scan with dd at 6+5 due to pain on the side, they didn't do pictures. They only gave us them at the 12 and 20 week scans. The scan I am having tomorrow privately it says you at given the pics.

Kescilly · 16/10/2018 17:40

Thanks guys! I'll have to wait and see what they do here. Right now I just want a healthy private scan next week!

rollerskaterdata · 16/10/2018 17:43

Welcome to all the new ladies, congratulations 😊

I have to admit I caved today, my anxiety got the better of me, I was really worried about the mild cramping, sharp pain in my legs/hips and lower back pain so I booked an early scan for this afternoon 🙈 it was all fine, my cervix is firmly closed and baby is growing nicely and still has a nice strong heartbeat so no idea what's causing the pain 🤷‍♀️ I just have to get on with it! It's just so unnerving. Even more confusing is I'm meant to be 7+0 today according to my LMP (they are very regular) but baby is measuring 7+5! The sonographer even took two different measurements from two different angles. So am I 7+0 or 7+5?! I know the 12 week scan is the ultimate authority on dating and EDDs but until then I don't know what to date myself as anymore. If I'm 7+5 I'm now due 30 May. And I don't even know if when I register my midwife or GP will pay attention to this scan, or still go by my LMP until my 12 week scan? Thoughts? X

rollerskaterdata · 16/10/2018 17:43

@Stormwhale all the best for your scan tomorrow! X

OP posts:
Reastie · 16/10/2018 17:46

Roller I’d go with 7+5 as it means your that much closer Wink

I’m not overly sure how many weeks/days I am as cycle varies between 24-28 days. Should I just go with an average 26 day cycle and work from there?

We always got pictures of our NHS scans. I think one private one we didn’t get any pictures but every other one we did (I’ve had about 10 scans with dd at 6 different places both private and nhs).

curlypasta · 16/10/2018 17:47

I’m finally here! Lmp was sept 13th and this is my third. Historically test negative for a long time so resisted this time. I promised I’d wait and not waste a huge amount of money on hpt so I ordered the cheapy ones from amazon. They arrived today, I couldn’t wait! I squeezed out the smallest of weea and hoorah! Due June 20th

Kescilly · 16/10/2018 17:47

@rollerskaterdata so glad to hear everything is okay! Do you know when you ovulated? I’m seven weeks today by LMP with a due date of June 4th but I think I ovulated on CD12 so may have also implanted earlier.

You’ll get an updated due date but babies rarely arrive on them anyway!

rollerskaterdata · 16/10/2018 18:03

@Reastie @Kescilly I'm tempted to but it seems too far ahead! I had confirmed ovulation on CD14 of a 27 day cycle the month I conceived, and pretty sure I implanted at 7dpo due to strong pain at the time, and got a very strong BFP at 11dpo that could've showed up a day or two earlier. So it seems feasible but I don't want to put myself forward if my midwife is going to keep me where I am anyway when I eventually see her 🤷‍♀️

Curlywurly3 · 16/10/2018 18:04

After my panic this morning about the sharp pain in my left side and dull cramps in my leg and being fobbed off my the doctor, I'm feeling a bit more positive again now. I've just done another test which reassured me.. POAS is becoming an expensive hobby! 5 weeks today due 19th June.. I'll feel happier when I get to 8 weeks! @rollerskata happy your scan went well today x
