@Marmite2018 I'm 14+3 and have been feeling baby for a week now! I can't believe it already. Last week it just felt like twitching but after 3 nights in a row I copped on its baby Grin I was 18 weeks with DS and it was more like the fluttering people describe.

@Murphyrocks I’ve just pm’d you about the Facebook group and wanted to check it was you I needed to message right?!

My memory is dreadful at the moment anyone else having problems?

Murphyrocks · 01/10/2018 21:53

@MisBit1 yes that's me, friend request sent! And yes my brain isn't working atm!

wordsmithereens · 01/10/2018 22:45

Still not sure I'm feeling baby... I had an odd bubbly feeling the to other night when I was lying in bed, nothing since. Not too concerned as I know it can take until after 20 weeks for some, but a bit impatient!

A bit struck the other day by the realisation that baby is now the size of my phone though!

HidCat · 02/10/2018 06:53

@orangekitkat13 I agree Mamas and Papas can be pricey but they're usually great in the sales. I picked up a few bargains with them for DS which we'll use again. I haven't bought much yet as we have so much in the attic but waiting until the 20week scan before getting too excited. Having said that there's a baby and toddler nearly new sale on near me a week Saturday so may have to check that out lol. Got my 16week appointment today, the weeks are flying by now!

SquirtlesMumAgain · 02/10/2018 10:17

Sitting waiting for my consultant appointment, hopefully will find out more about the low PAPP-A and how it is going to affect me and baby.
Not really feeling any movements still, just the overwhelming sickness.
We didn't buy anything until the new year with DS (he was due in April) and was still plenty of time so I really wouldn't worry if you haven't started yet, still a long way to go yet.

Wineandchoccy · 02/10/2018 11:26

@SquirtlesMumAgain hope the appointment goes ok.

Same here we bought everything after Christmas when dd was due mid April. This time baby has 3 knitted cardigans, a hat and all dd old things Grin

Nightmanagerfan · 02/10/2018 11:43

Morning all. You’ve inspired me to look at pranks - currently liking the look of a Silver Cross lightweight.

Does anyone else have this awful cold/cough? I’m off work and feeling v sorry for myself. Surviving on hot honey and lemon and the odd paracetamol if I feel terrible. I’ve had quite a few sick days from work and am feeling stressed about that, though DH keeps pointing out how awful the maternity pay is so he says I shouldn’t feel bad at all!

Nightmanagerfan · 02/10/2018 11:44

*prams obviously, not pranks!

SquirtlesMumAgain · 02/10/2018 12:10

Obviously consultant is concerned about small baby last time plus low PAPP-A. She wanted growth scans as soon as possible but our trust only start at 28 weeks so will have to be alert for pre-eclampsia and the other potential issues. Was slightly concerning when we were just talking about how small DS was and then she spotted the low PAPP-A, her face dropped a bit.

Murphyrocks · 02/10/2018 12:25

@Squirtlesmumagain I'm sorry about the low PAPP-A but glad you're being well taken care of with additional scans later and knowing what to look out for in the meantime. I'm getting extra scans too as DS had a stroke in utero so know it can be scary but trying to take comfort that they're doing everything they can to monitor baby and ensure all is well.

LovelyFishy · 02/10/2018 12:38

nightmanagerfan I’m just getting over that cold, it’s horrible! Felt very sorry for myself over the weekend, missing Lemsip terribly. DD seems to have caught it now so I have a very snotty toddler today, yay!

SquirtlesMumAgain Glad they’re looking after you, did you get the info you wanted on PAPP-A?

Finally not feeling nauseous every 5 seconds, huzzah! Grin I wish with all my might those of you who still are find yourselves feeling better ASAP!

LovelyFishy · 02/10/2018 12:41

On the subject of pram shopping my best tip is to hit one of the big stores with lots of options to look at such as John Lewis or Morhercare. But before you even set foot in there know where your nearest coffee shop is so you can run away and hide when it all becomes too much!! That’s what DH and I did the first time and it was great having a moment to chill then slowly go over everything we’d just seen and learnt. Buying a house was way easier, I swear.

Shampooeeee · 02/10/2018 13:13

@Squirtlesmumagain hopefully it isn’t as scary as the consultant made out but at least she is taking it seriously. How small was your DS? Mine was a small baby too, with no reason found. I’m going to push for a growth scan this time.

Nightmanagerfan · 02/10/2018 13:44

@lovelyfishy it’s a rough one isn’t it! Hope your little one gets better soon. Lots of people in my office had it so at least they sympathise.

Good shout re: John Lewis - we have some tea and cake vouchers so that will be a welcome respite. DH and I are very different when it comes to decision making - I’m happy to look at a few options, choose the best one then go home and do something else. He HAS to consider all the options, ask hundreds of questions and watch YouTube review videos before making a decision.... buying a sofa nearly ended our relationship! I’ve told him he’s welcome to take his approach but I’ll be in the cafe mainlining chocolate tiffin Grin

MyMumDimensionJumps · 02/10/2018 14:51

Checking in.

Hope everyone is doing well and not feeling sick anymore! Mine has subsided, but still there a bit. Now just have hip pain!

MistakenHoliday
Baby boxes - are those the ones similar to the ones you get in Finland (I think it's Finland)? Didn't think we had them in the UK.

Wineandchoccy · 02/10/2018 15:02

@Nightmanagerfan ahh that sounds like my DH he has to do a spreadsheet, write everything down go home look at a million webdites then we go back to the original shop and buy it Angry seriously what is that all about!!
Dd needs a new bed 2 whole weekends if my life I will never get back looking at single beds Grin

Nightmanagerfan · 02/10/2018 15:04

@wineandchoccy I feel your pain! We usually end up buying the first one I suggested too... I just couldn’t be bothered wasting all the extra time and after a while I get information overload anyway

TheWanderlust · 02/10/2018 15:20

@orangekitkat13 I just wanted to check back in to your last post. I've been having some quite low moods this week - I just don't seem to be able to rationalise things at all. And everything is a problem.

I hope you're not struggling too much. Always here if you want a moan or a listening ear. X

orangekitkat13 · 02/10/2018 15:28

@TheWanderlust thank you! It's was mainly over the weekend and has slowly lifted this week but still have a very short fuse and get grumpy and down very easily! Hope you're doing ok, and same as you said, always here for a chat!

TheWanderlust · 02/10/2018 15:44

@orangekitkat13 I'm trying to find ways to always have something good to look forward to... have a wedding in a few weeks so am going to book a hair cut and am arranging coffee / dinner with friends once a week to keep socialising even when I'm not feeling like it.

orangekitkat13 · 02/10/2018 15:54

@TheWanderlust that's a good tip!

babycatcher411 · 02/10/2018 17:02

Hi Guys, I've come to join you if that's okay

Im due 4/3/19 with number two. With what will be an 11 year gap by the time this one's born.

Wineandchoccy · 02/10/2018 17:32

@babycatcher411 welcome there is 10 1/2 years between my brother and me he spoils me rotten Grin

SquirtlesMumAgain · 02/10/2018 18:16

@shampooeee he was 4lb 15oz at 38 weeks. He is still little but has gone up the centiles a little, he is a smart bean though!

Still not much more info on the low PAPP-A other than just needing to be watched. I have to ask them to scan my uterine arteries at my 20 week to look for any resistance in the blood flow.

Welcome babycatcher411.
