Hi all! Just checking in after a weekend without reading followed by 2 days to catch up on all the chat!

@MyMumDimensionJumps Baby box university are the same as the ones in Finland. I went onto the website and they get you to watch videos to complete their course then you can receive a free box, just paying postage. I was listening to the videos yesterday while reading more about them online and am now less convinced of the benefits. Apparently they work so well in Finland because most people (unsafely) co-slept and didn't have a sleep space for baby so obviously once they had given out the boxes, SIDS rates were reduced. Lullaby Trust have been quoted as saying that they're no safer than any other flat, baby-safe carrier such as a moses basket or crib. Although a free item is great, I'm uncertain about them coming with just a mattress and I think one sheet. We definitely had nights that my DS needed to have his sheet changed so would need spares but I have no idea if the right size sheets can be purchased.

Sorry I posted the list twice- hadn't updated it correctly the first time. No wonder we get through so many threads!

@SquirtlesMumAgain to be honest, low papp a is a fairly 'new' phenomenon in the world of midwifery and thus not vastly well know or understood... certainly on shop floor level.
The main concerns with it is that it can be an indicator for Down syndrome or placental functioning related issues like low birth weight in babies, or pre-eclampsia. However it is very much only an indicator for further care than an actual diagnostic tool.

That's interesting @babycatcher411 - any idea how new? Wondering if it might have been why DS was small but it wasnt tested in my area or something.

Downs has come back as low risk, and no-one has mentioned that just the small baby issue which we have obviously already had.

I think I felt my first proper wiggles this evening. 🤗 I wasn't sure at first but have now felt the same thing seven or eight times in the last hour and a half.

Suddenly feeling so real!!

I meant to ask any of you nub theorists about my scan last week. Is that as clear as day a boy nub or am I wrong? I was 13+6.

@TheWanderlust so lovely that you're feeling movement. It's amazing isn't it!

Silly question because I think I know the answer, but my lower tummy (around my bikini line) and pretty much where the baby is sat on my right hand side is SORE today, I've never had a hernia but it feels like baby is going to burst out, it's so tight and stretched. I guess this is just normal stretching pains? It's not very comfortable, better when I'm sat down than stood up.

It's just one thing after another! I feel like all I do is moan!

@SquirtlesMumAgain certainly where I work it is new within about 3 years. I don't believe it was something we looked at when I was training.

@TheWanderlust me too, in the last day or so, they've been definite movements/kicks, instead of the occasional is that/is it not wind.

@Wineandchoccy aha, I'll do my best to help. I'm a labour ward midwife, so my A/N and P/N knowledge won't be as sparkling as it should be.

@babycatcher411 I had a little movement at the weekend but put it down to wind 😅 OH said there was no way it was movement already but tonight it's been so clear... and a few repetitions of the same movement.

So reassuring that my little girl actually moves as she's always been tucked up asleep for scans and a nightmare to get to move into a semi-reasonable position.

@TheWanderlust mine was quite the opposite, at the 12/40 scan it was pretty much constantly on the move, anywhere but the position the sonographer needed it to be in, we were there 1hr 30 and didn't manage to get the NT measurement for the screening

@HidCat he's incredibly excited. He's even, completely off his own back, forfeited his bigger bedroom for the baby because he declared the baby would need the space to play and he's doesn't really 'play' anymore

@babycatcher411 that is lovely. I am 12 years older than my 'baby' sister and it's a lovely gap, she has plenty of memories of me still being at home but we were far enough apart not to really squabble.

My nearly 2 year old has finally gone to sleep at 10.30, seriously he has more stamina than me! Top tip ladies, once they are over one you definitely need to wake them from naps sometimes or it's pure hell later getting them to bed!!!

@MsLioness I swear I need more sleep than my 2.5 year old! He is always full of energy and I am constantly exhausted.

@Marmite2018 I've had the same problem on and off and yes it seems to be ligaments / stretching. If it doesn't ease it might be worth getting checked for spd.

@babycatcher411 omg that's amazing, your son sounds like an absolute sweetheart!

Not feeling very well today so stayed in bed while DH and DD got up. When DD came to say bye she bought me one of her favourite teddies to cuddle. She's growing up so quickly.

Ababycatch411 welcome and congratulations! My stepson is nearly 12 and ADORES our first son, and will be 12 years older than this one, as @MsLioness says there's a big enough gap that they don't have that sibling rivalry and he's almost a mixture between sibling and 3rd parent, it's really lovely. He also gave up the bigger bedroom saying the baby would need the space more than him!

@Marmite2018 I had the same low-down pains about weeks 14-16, then my bump 'popped' and they're only occasional now so perhaps that's what it is?

@Angelmiracle I'm sorry but I don't see a nub in your pictures, just a thigh-bone unless I'm mistaken?!

Thanks for commenting @Murphyrocks I posted the scan on ingender and no replies since last night you must be right!! I don't know what to look for.

What's the nub theory?

Sorry @Angelmiracle, looks like you might have to wait until the 20 weeks scan! Mine is on the 15th but my nub was very strongly boy so I'm seeing it more as confirmation of gender than actually finding out.
