@melissa112 thanks for the reassurance.
I'm the same with movements some days I feel lots and others not much. I find the days I'm not doing much I feel more movement to the days I'm busy doing things.

@BadBadBeans that's the exact same reason I had to have an emergency c-section with my son so I'm also really worried about it happening again.
Do you have your section booked then now, how many weeks will you be when you have it?
I'm really not sure what to do, but due to my placenta being low and covering my cervix I may not have the option of VBAC if it hadn't moved at my next scan

Priscilla83 · 03/11/2018 08:37

@BadBadBeans thanks so much. I guess what upset me was that there was no understanding of why I'm thinking an elective would be better.

When having surgery for cyst removal, we were told the risks were high for the baby. I had to go into the op thinking when I woke up from the GA I'd have miscarried or would soon after. I'd 3 days in hospital with lots of scans where they were checking baby.

When seeing the cardiologist (after the op) he said because I'm having probs with my BP & fainting that needs to be considered a potential problem during the labor. I'm hoping seeing the consultant in December will be a better experience. Of course I'm open to discussion about it all, but not being made feel the way that duty dr made me feel. It's been such a difficult 5 months so far I just want everything to be ok.

Hello!

I’ve been working away for three weeks I’ve missed loads!! I don’t want you to think I’m bulldozing over what looks like some very serious topics here but I will have to take some time to catch up! I think you’ve moved another thread. Not long finished 16 days straight of very hard work but really proud that I managed it. Lots of delegation and going for rests when I needed.

We’ve also had our 20 weeks scan and all looks fine and it’s little girl!! So happy. I’ve always wanted a girl and it’s all boys in the family and recent friends. The scan was at a private place that the NHS has farmed out to so was very pleasant and thorough! Had to wee twice so why they tell you to drink water I don’t know.

Having terrible leg pains in the night from my hips/bum down. Any tips?

Going to have a read over the weekend. Hope you’re all doing ok!

@Wineandchoccy oh wow you've seen them! That must be surreal, can't wait for that!

@Gronk27 congratulations on your little girl, great news. Lovely scan pic too! I'm well impressed with your 16 days straight, I struggled with my 2 day week this week after being in hol Monday-Wednesday! What are the leg pains like? I sometimes get really achy on the side that I'm lying on at the top of my legs but no advice sorry as have no idea what to do either!

@Priscilla83 I have no advice sorry as not really sure how it all works but I really hope the consultant can give you some reassurance in December.

firsttimemumjess1 · 03/11/2018 11:38

@cardboard33 no it’s on Monday, can’t wait to see baby again. Good luck for yours! Smile

firsttimemumjess1 · 03/11/2018 11:48

Welcome @rachieachie I’m new to this thread too. How are you feeling? Tired I imagine after your early start. I have my 20 week scan on Monday.

Wineandchoccy · 03/11/2018 11:48

@Gronk27 have you got a pregnancy pillow? Or at least a few pillows that you can put in between your legs and one behind your back

rachieachie · 03/11/2018 11:54

@firsttimemumjess1 haha oh man yes, baby seems to have got himself into a nice 3/4am workout routine πŸ™„ but I had such bad morning sickness until a couple of weeks ago I'm just happy to be eating again! 😁 20 week scan is so exciting, will you be finding out boy or girl?

Gronk27 · 03/11/2018 12:25

@wineandchoccy been just caught up on all your posts! What a rollercoaster for you! Yes pregnancy pillow and extra pillow behind back and between knees! I sleep on my back normally so really struggling generally. Need to book in for some Pilates!

@melissa112 thank you. I think perhaps it’s partly to do with fatigue and being on my feet/walking a lot. I need to see my Osteo or have a massage I reckon.

I can’t work out if it’s cramp or tightness in my lower back/bum. Both legs! Very painful and I’m not getting much sleep (and neither is OH!) Done some research and options are fatigue, lacking in minerals and maybe I keep rolling into my back and squashing everything!

Wineandchoccy · 03/11/2018 13:21

@Gronk27 yes it’s been a bit stressful to say the least, trying to keep positive and busy.
Sounds like you have all the right stuff to help. I have started Pilates it was more strenuous than I thought I could certainly tell I had been stretching in bizarre positions the next day but I did have a very good nights sleep that night.

Gronk27 · 03/11/2018 13:25

@wineandchoccy exercise makes you feel so much better and is a very positive thing to be doing. I admire you!! I defo need to look after myself now I’m home.

firsttimemumjess1 · 03/11/2018 18:05

@rachieachie oh gosh that must be tiring but light relief in a way if you’ve been poorly. No we’re going to keep it a surprise.

Nightmanagerfan · 03/11/2018 22:44

@wineandchoccy glad you are ok and the Pilates sounds excellent. I’m enjoying mine and have learnt masses about the pelvic floor!

Anyone else feeling massive? It’s my first baby and I’m only 19+3 but I feel enormous. I bought some size 12 H&M maternity skinny trousers today without trying them on and while they fit I can’t see how there’s much room left! I was a fairly slim size 10/12 pre pregnancy and don’t think I’ve put on much weight apart from the bump, but still feel massive!

Gronk27 · 03/11/2018 23:19

@nightmanagerfan we were out tonight for a charity do. Put on a maternity dress and felt like a whale. Opted for a stretchy pre-pregnancy dress. I'm a 12 too and size 12 fits now (21+3). I think the sign in H&M said you're supposed to go up a size in the later stages! Although jeans will not stay up on me at all. My Mum's got me some dungarees!

My tummy feels really tight and uncomfortable tonight, any ideas? Could it be braxton hicks?

AssumeItWasSomethingClever · 04/11/2018 06:24

I just weighed myself and I've put on 2kg in the past week. πŸ™ˆ I know I'm on my honeymoon and I'm drinking lots of fruit mocktails and having 2 big meals a day but that seems like a lot to put on in one week!
How much has everyone else put on so far?

HidCat · 04/11/2018 08:02

@rachieachie congratulations and welcome! How have things been so far?

@melissa112 I've been feeling movement for a while and still have quiet days. I think it still depends how baby is lying.

@Gronk27 lovely scan pic and congratulations on your little girl. Generally the hip / leg pain eases with stretching / hip rotations for me but keep an eye on it. If it doesn't ease you may want to get checked by a physio to rule out spd. My bump gets tight too - as far as I know it is to do with Braxton Hicks though they're often just referred to as "tightenings". With DS it used to make me laugh as my bump would go heard and square due to where his limbs were πŸ˜†

@AssumeItWasSomethingClever I'm 4lb up on my prepregnancy weight but 9lbs / 4kgs up from my lightest as lost weight during morning sickness. some weeks I seem to gain a lot and others nothing so try not to worry too much, unless it doesn't slow down.

rachieachie · 04/11/2018 09:47

@Gronk27 oh, my bump has been doing that too! Braxton Hicks eh? I hadn't considered that! How exciting/terrifying! πŸ˜†

@HidCat not been loving life that much so far to be honest, threw up every day from about week 7 to week 18 😁 but that seems to have passed so things are definitely looking up! Looking forward to getting a proper bump too, currently fairly indistinguishable from my pre-pregnancy 'padding' πŸ˜‚

Anyone started their baby shopping in earnest yet? DH has me on a ban till Christmas... We'll see about that πŸ˜‰

ballanj · 04/11/2018 09:51

Congratulations on your little girl @Gronk27 lovely scan picture! And huge well done on the work front. I'm the same as you I've missed lots on here and hoping to have some quiet time to catch up on the thread later today. Is there a thread number 7 yet?!

ballanj · 04/11/2018 09:58

@melissa112 you obviously read my mind, I've had lots of movement but the last couple of days Hulk has been much more quiet. It's like he was making himself known at the 20 week scan we had on Thursday and has now gone back into downtime! But feeling those little kicks has been lovely. I'm 21+3 today. Also told I have an anterior placenta so I'm not expecting any movement to feel quite as strong just yet.

Nightmanagerfan · 04/11/2018 10:37

Yes we will need thread 7 soon. @assumeitwassomethingclever I haven’t got on the scales recently so am blissfully unaware of how much I’ve put on. @gronk27 I must have missed that sign - makes sense though. I feel more comfy in leggings and dresses so maybe will revert to those towards the end.

Lovely scan pix everyone! Ours isn’t for another two weeks when I’ll be 21+5. Seems late but I guess they will be able to see more.

Gronk27 · 04/11/2018 11:14

@hidcat Woke up twice with leg pain and once with actual cramp in my calf! I think I had a better night but OH doesn’t agree-awake since 4am ooops. Yep defo need to do some stretching and book in with osteo and for some pilates! Tightening is right! Not very comfy.

@rachieachie It only happened for the first time last night! I’ve not bought anything yet although friends have offered us lots of things, especially now we know she’s a girl. We also have lots of second hand bits in the family. What I have done is made a huge list of what we need! Happy to share if anyone wants a mooch. I’m waiting until after Christmas to buy too.

@ballanj thank you! How are you getting on, have I missed your scan? I was worried about Halloween as it’s my busiest time but glad I managed. Working it with a 7 month old next year . . .

@nightmanagerfan Yeah but it means buying yet more clothes! Or just stretching what you’ve got?? I think there’s a bit of a window with the 20 weeks scan as the midwife I was talking to was panicking when I tried to move mine as I think she said 24 weeks was too late but you can start at 18 weeks.

I haven’t weighed myself at all either!

rachieachie · 04/11/2018 11:20

@Gronk27 I'd love a look at the list if you don't mind sharing! Need all the help I can get! 😁
