@WhatALearningCurve amazing! What pram did you get ? My cousin gave me her old bugaboo and am thinking of also getting a yo-yo

ballanj · 30/09/2018 21:41

Checking in to thread 6 from Greece 😊 we're enjoying our final child free holiday and have been talking lots about Hulk and how life will be changing forever!

Sorry to those of you who are still feeling unwell. I'm not too bad but have been feeling lots more stretching and pulling which I'm assuming is baby making some room. Feel like my bladder, bowels and room are fighting for room whenever I eat/drink anything some days! My stomach has popped out more too and have a touch of backache but only if I'm having to walk up stairs.

@Jenlou1992 I suffered with breathlessness around the 8-10 week mark from memory. I'm generally fit and it wasn't an issue during exercise, sometimes would just come on whilst I was sat at my desk or if I was eating. It has eased off now. I find it would feel worse the more tired I felt. I'm 16 weeks and it seems to have completely passed now.

@toastfiend I hope your headaches improve. I had a couple of awful ones a while back. Again, I think tiredness exacerbates all pregnancy symptoms.

@VillageFete I've had the 'I don't feel pregnant' feeling a bit more since settling into the 2nd trimester. I think it's because hormones and everything have calmed down so feeling more like my old pre-pregnancy self. You'll have days like that but I'm sure you'll also experience some kind of symptom that makes you go 'huh that's new' or 'I thought I was done with that'. At the moment I'm getting more stretching and pulling of ligaments but less tired. It really is a rollercoaster growing a human!

WhatALearningCurve · 30/09/2018 21:53

@frenchgal I've gone for the Mutsy I2. Seems really compact but with a decent basket and the chair folds down with the chassis so once they're out of the carry cot I can still easily hold the baby and fold the pram if needed. It can adapt to a double if needed if this one is still in a pram if a second baby happens!!

MisBit1 · 30/09/2018 21:55

@Villagefete here’s my 12 week (although actually 13 weeks) scan. I haven’t a clue what you look for but I was told the nub was girly.

@hidcat we bought the Joie Chrome for DS with the carrycot and car seat. It’s all still in good condition and is really well made so will be getting used again with this one. We rated it all so much we stuck with Joie for the next size in car seats and an umbrella fold stroller once DS was bigger.

MisBit1 · 30/09/2018 21:58

Sorry @villagefete I forgot the picture πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ

I swear I’m forgetting everything at the moment. I left the house unlocked with the key in the door yesterday.

Just checking in πŸ‘‹πŸ»

wordsmithereens · 30/09/2018 22:21

@MisBit1 Awwww. I'm rubbish at nub theory, but such a sweet scan, congrats. :)

PartridgeJoan · 01/10/2018 01:06

Checking in at 18 weeks! After having an almost symptom free first trimester and feeling amazing at 12 weeks, I've now got pelvic girdle pain which has knocked me sideways! Looks like I'll be changing my work conditions sooner than expected, commuting simply isn't an option when feeling like this.

Honestly hadn't expected to be so affected this early - there are two other preggers people at work, both much further along than me and being very stoic! Each pregnancy is different I guess.

Hope everyone who is suffering with symptoms gets some relief soon!

MistakenHoliday · 01/10/2018 06:33

Morning ladies! Just checking in before I get up for work Smile

Not much to report here really: just got the same symptoms that most of you have - breathlessness etc. I'm still being sick fairly regularly but not feeling sick so much, if you see what i mean.

We live in a tiny house with no storage so I'm considering not bothering with a travel system and just getting a pushchair that's lie flat and suitable from birth. Silver Cross have one that looks good.

I've also got to pick my baby box up from our local school so don't need to worry about a Moses basket! All good as it means I have more to spend on maternity leave time Grin

Wineandchoccy · 01/10/2018 07:29

Just thought I would post a link to this company, the buggy fleeces are amazing they are a thick fleece that threads through the pram straps and then the top bit zips on so like a blanket foot muff. This time next year the babies will be in the sit up part of the prams or buggies.
The company is closing down so lots in the sale.

VillageFete · 01/10/2018 09:23

Hi all,

Well hoping i’ll still feel pregnant and it will feel β€œreal” from tomorrow as i’ve managed to get a gender scan appt at 3pm!

@MisBit1 Very cute scan!

@ballanj Hope you’re enjoying beautiful Greece. I love Greek food!

SquirtlesMumAgain · 01/10/2018 09:24

@mistakenholiday we had that issue when expecting DS so our pram the carry cot actually turns into the seat which is quite nice to have both options. It is a bulky piece of kit still compared to a stroller but the basket made it worth it!!!!

ladycarlotta · 01/10/2018 10:17

I feel like such a slack mummy-to-be - am I the only one not thinking about travel systems yet? I wouldn't know where to start, and tbh have so much else going on I just can't think about it. Plus, negotiating the supermarket with a trolley the other day reminded me how stressed being in charge of a big cumbersome wheely thing makes me feel.
Kind of hoping bub will be fine in a sling for at least the first few months.

NotDoingThat · 01/10/2018 10:30

@ladycarlotta don't feel slack! I'm not even thinking about it yet- I have a house move to sort before then!!

Murphyrocks · 01/10/2018 10:32

Thanks @Wineandchoccy, just bought a couple of lovely bits off that site! Love a good cow print...

@ladycarlotta given I'll have a toddler with me most of the time too I'm planning on mostly baby wearing - I loved it with ds and actually rarely used the car seat or pram so just gonna kick that up a bit more this time! Hope the new bub is a bit lighter though! We're pretty much re-using ds's second set of travel bits (car seat and pushchair) as they're suitable from newborn when baby wearing isn't convenient for whatever reason. It can be a bit daunting but you're unlikely to make a really 'wrong' choice so try not to stress too much!

toastfiend · 01/10/2018 10:44

@ladycarlotta I've not bought anything yet. Not so much as a sleep suit. The only baby thing we own is a little clip on book for a pram that my mother in law sent me. That's it. So please don't feel slack or I'll have to admit that I am too! Grin I have no idea where to start either, like you I also feel hugely exasperated by a supermarket trolley and the few times I've tried to push friends' prams it's been a stressful experience where I run over people's feet and crash into things, so I'm hoping baby will be happy in a sling for a bit too! We will buy a travel system eventually but I feel a bit overwhelmed by choice at the moment.

ballanj · 01/10/2018 10:47

@ladycarlotta you're not slack at all! Other than a quick look in John Lewis and Mothercare after our 12 week scan that's as far as I've got with a travel system! I think I know what I want but I'm not going to look at anything really in depth until after our 20 week scan. I'm moving house first weekend in November in with the OH (we don't live together at the moment) who is also trying to finish off lots in his place to get things ready, including a completely new bathroom. We will have time to look and purchase baby things before March so I'm not sweating it (yet!)

MistakenHoliday · 01/10/2018 10:53

Ooh @SquirtlesMumAgain which one did you go for?

Shampooeeee · 01/10/2018 11:47

I’m another one hoping to mostly use slings. Our pram is big and heavy, which was fine with DS because we lived in town (on flat ground!) so I never took it in the car or uphill. Now we live out of town and up a hill so every journey will involve either the car or a struggle!

SquirtlesMumAgain · 01/10/2018 16:13

@mistakenholiday it is a chicco one, after a quick Google I think it's the Urban. Worked well for us so will be rolled out for number 2

PurpleFlower1983 · 01/10/2018 19:22

I found out I got a pay rise today so that’s a relief when it comes to thinking about maternity leave! I’m tempted to start shopping a bit more soon. We have already bought the Bugaboo Chameleon 3 and are definitely getting the Sleepyhead Deluxe. We’re going to go to the Mamas and Papas outlet to look at nursery furniture at the weekend. I feel like it’s a bit early but it will soon be fine for Christmas madness!

Marmite2018 · 01/10/2018 20:21

@NotDoingThat and @ladycarlotta I'm in the same boat, I've looked briefly but I am also mid house move!!!! A week on Friday we will finally be in our new home! I'm also holding out for our 20 week scan.

Is anyone feeling baby move at the moment? I felt some early movements about two weeks ago that felt like bubbles but feel like the last couple of days they've been a bit more definitive and feel more like muscle twitches... I think it's the baby?! I'm 17 weeks today...

PurpleFlower1983 · 01/10/2018 20:51

I am feeling muscle twitches too, I think it’s baby! Hope it is as I’m always worrying everything is ok!

Murphyrocks · 01/10/2018 21:05

@Marmite2018 definitely sounds like baby, around the same time frame as me! If so it'll gradually become stronger as baby gets bigger.

Congrats on your pay rise @purpleflower1983!

orangekitkat13 · 01/10/2018 21:23

@ladycarlotta only things have got so far are 4 of these: www.gro-store.com/grosnug/grosnugs.html and that's only cause they were on a good offer!

Have started looking into pranks and stuff but need a new car first so we can work out what will fit in our boot!

@Marmite2018 I'm getting little nudges from inside most days now at 18+5.

Went into mamas and papas today, so many lovely things in there, but all so expensive!

Anyone else been having really low moods lately? I seem to have been in a bit of a grump the last week or so.
